Magic exists within the Dragon Ball universe, but it is not as prevalent as expected. It is a different element than Ki, usually operating outside the life force of users. There is a real chance that Dragon Ball Magic is being developed for two key reasons: to bring the Dragon Ball franchise back to life and to create a spin-off show with the same story device as the most disliked Dragon Ball story.
A new web anime called Dragon Ball Magic has been leaked, where Goku and Supreme Kai turn into kids due to a demon and go on a journey to get their grown-up bodies back. The animation looks great, but everything else is debatable. People didn’t ask for a spin-off show with the same story device as the most disliked Dragon Ball story.
Toriyama is indeed involved in Dragon Ball Magic, supposedly working on it since the pandemic in 2020. He is expected to be heavily involved in the production of this web anime. There has been no official announcement for the Dragon Ball Magic web anime yet, but there is a huge possibility of it happening. Magic is not magic, but basic life energy, and you must have control over your Ki to be able to do magic.
The series will revolve around Goku and Kaiōshin being turned into kids by a demon who casts a magic spell on them. While DB leaks have proven to be partially accurate, it is possible that Dragon Ball Magic will return after its completion.

Who killed Zalama?

Goku and Vegeta investigate Planet Salad, expecting to find Zamasu, but are surprised to find a dragon-like warrior with an aura similar to Shenron.

Why do Dragon Balls exist?
The Earth Dragon Balls, also known as “The Dragon Ball of Earth”, are a set of wish orbs created by Earth’s Guardian, Kami, and later re-created by Dende. These wish orbs are primarily used on Earth and are the first type of Dragon Balls used in the Dragon Ball series. They have been a driving force behind major events in the series and have proven invaluable in repairing damage done by villains fought by the Dragon Team.
There are seven Earth Dragon Balls in existence, and when all are gathered, they summon an Eternal Dragon named Shenron, who can grant any wish that doesn’t exceed his powers. Once used and fulfilled, the Earth Dragon Balls are turned into stone and scattered to different random locations on Earth, rendering them useless for 365 days before they can be used again.
Can Zeno defeat Zalama?
The battle between the creator of The Super Dragon Balls, Dragon God Zalama, and the ruler of the multiverse, Grand Zeno, is a complex one. Zeno is the strongest being in the multiverse, higher than Destroyers and Angels. Zalama, the Dragon God, has little information about himself, but he created The Super Dragon Balls that can grant a single wish of infinite potential. Zeno is considered the greatest and most powerful God in the multiverse, but Zalama may have the greatest chance of being stronger than him.
Zalama’s power to create Dragon and Dragon Balls that can reverse destruction caused by Zeno could match Zeno’s power. He could also have the pinnacle of Namekian potential and powers similar to Ultimate and Orange Piccolo. Zalama’s powers of both Dragon Clan and Warrior Clan, possibly due to being the first Namekian, could give him an edge.
In conclusion, Zeno could still be the strongest God, but Zalama could be the only God with the necessary powers to bring Zeno down. If a being like Zalama can create dragon balls that can undo Zeno’s actions or buff someone’s immorality, it might be him. While we have not seen what Zeno can truly do, Zalama’s creation demonstrates his immense power.
Who is CC Goku?
Capsule Corp Goku, also known as SDBH Goku, represents a continuation of Goku’s experiences in the original Dragon Ball (OG DB), Dragon Ball Z (DBZ) anime, movies, Dragon Ball Super (DBS) anime, and Dragon Ball Super Broly (DBS Broly). The producer asserts that CC Goku represents a continuation of the Broly films.
Is Dragon Ball Magic official?
Dragon Ball Magic: New web series has been confirmed to have an IP address temporarily blocked due to a large number of HTTP requests. The most common causes of this issue are the latest version of the Opera browser sending multiple invalid requests to the servers for every page visited, the Brave browser or Ghostery add-on sending extra traffic to the servers for every page visited, and some unofficial phone apps using GameFAQs as a back-end that do not behave like a real web browser. These apps trigger anti-spambot measures designed to prevent automated systems from flooding the site with traffic.
There is no official GameFAQs app and no contact with the makers of these unofficial apps. If you promise to stop using these apps, the connection will be unblocked for now, but will be immediately re-blocked if additional bad behavior is detected. The website does not support or have any contact with the makers of these unofficial apps.
Does Zalama exist in Dragon Ball?
Zalama, the Dragon God, is credited with the creation of the Super Dragon Balls, which are estimated to have a circumference of approximately 37, 196 kilometers. This event is believed to have occurred in the 41st year of the Divine Calendar.
How many Dragon Balls exist?
In Dragon Ball: Bouken Special, the manga author Hirohiko Araki explains that the Dragon Balls are seven because there are eight balls in Hakken-Den, a famous Edo-era Japanese novel. The Dragon Balls grant wishes exactly as the wisher imagined them, making their life even more difficult. For example, King Piccolo appears in his prime when wishing for youth, and when a victim is revived from the dead, they are truly alive. This creates a legitimate reason for the protagonists to pursue the Dragon Balls, as they would not have a justification to rely on them if they knew they would never grant a proper wish.
Dragon Balls come in sets of seven, with each ball containing the number of stars that signifies its respective number. Colonel Silver claims that the Dragon Balls are unbreakable, but Vegeta may not know this. In the Fusion Saga, Piccolo says that if one of the balls is broken, it can never be used again, suggesting that they may not be completely indestructible.
Is Dragon Ball Heroes real or fan made?
The series follows the Tournament of Power, where Fu kidnaps Future Trunks and lures Goku and Vegeta to the Prison Planet, an experimental area filled with warriors from different planets and eras. They must collect seven Special Dragon Balls to escape. Fu’s experiments continue, and based on the collected data, he begins his real experiment. Goku and companions from “Dark Demon Realm Mission” and “Universe Mission” appear, involving the entire universe and space-time. The series explores alternate scenarios within the franchise.
Is Majin Buu made of magic?
Majin Buu is a fictional character and final antagonist in the Dragon Ball manga series, created by Akira Toriyama. He is a genie-like magical life form awoken by the evil warlock Bibidi, who terrorized the universe millions of years before the events of Dragon Ball. Buu was sealed away by Bibidi and brought to Earth, but was killed while being sealed away. During the events of Dragon Ball Z, he is revived by Bibidi’s son Babidi to continue his father’s plan to conquer the entire universe.
Akira Toriyama stated that when creating a villain in Dragon Ball, he would try to make them different from any that had come before. Majin Buu, Bibidi, and Babidi take their names from the song “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo” in the Walt Disney movie Cinderella. Toriyama stated that the fight between Buu and Gotenks was fun to draw because he was able to come up with odd techniques in “the spirit of gag manga”.
Is Dragon Balls Based on a true story?

I’d say Metamoran and Potara Fusion could also be considered magical in nature. Though, I’d consider Potara as more magical as it is naturally a divine power and may provide unique abilities to the user beyond an insane power boost. Vegito was able to keep his power and mind after being turned into a piece of candy by Buu (a thing with no organs, brain, eyes, nose, mouth or flesh and bones in general; it’s not a living thing, but Vegito acted like nothing major happened at all, he could still see, communicate and fight Buu with little to no effort). Some would say that because he was just insanely stronger than Buu, it didn’t work as planned, but it’s stated that it was unique to him (Vegito being the first mortal Potara Fusion in the series, so there wasn’t anyone like him to make such a comparison beyond Elder Kai or Fused Supreme Kai) and it may have less to do with his power and more to do with his nature as a being formed by magical divine earrings. Since the divine would be magical in nature and therefore unnatural to us, using logic for Vegito’s feat isn’t really possible beyond saying, “It’s just a unique ability he has mortals don’t possess”.
This is why Piccolo should have been a magic user. A long time ago they had him acknowledge that he could never keep up with the saiyans in terms of ki(even though this has now been retconned) so why not give him something else? Make him specialize in magic and take him back to his roots by making him the Demon King again.
This entire article is exactly what i was thinking. Also it might explain the “i can’t make shenron do this because it surpasses the creators power”, because many people assume they are talking about their battle power when disscusin this when in reality they’re taking about another different type of power that namekians posses.
Here’s something to ponder. Why does Earth have a god system? Earth is seen by most in space as a mostly worthless back water planet. Yet it’s among the few to have someone appointed and blessed with divine ki to become a guardian. It has beings born from the other world that come to act as gods. Korin the cat who can somehow grow beans that seem to exist bo where else that instantly heal the worst injuries. Popo who can do some wild magical acts. The Devil man who can kill a fighter with the slightest impurity in the heart. Earth having it’s own personal hell. Baba who can view the future, is immortal and can freely pass into the realm of the dead then revive someone for one day with help from Yama, magical eternal flames summoned by a wizard. What makes this insignificant planet so different from the rest?
Time manipulation is a bit of a weird one because we have seen it being done by magical means and technological means and within the magical means that’s even subdivided into multi-types. You have the magic rings that allow for both backwards and forward movement in time with seemingly no limit while also having the Angels magic that is a limited time reversal of only a few minutes. But then you have someone like Goldo who can stop time by holding his breath. I recall that he was described as having strong psychic powers but was that just magic? It is limited to his ability to hold his breath so it’s hard to say.
I have to say the demon realm is really the most under portrayed realm in the series. To my knowledge there’s only ever been one actual demon realm appearance and that was when Goku went to the demon realm himself to fight a demon in the original dragon Ball. There are also many deities in the original dragon Ball that have yet to make their appearance in dragon Ball super. Which is strange as plenty of mortal characters always seem to make an appearance in one place or another as Easter eggs you’d think some of the deities from the original dragon Ball would appear next to the gods or something even if they’re just eating food together on King Kai’s world. Guess that’s one thing I’ve always appreciated about dragon Ball as a series is the creator always seems to add an ending or an explanation of what happens to certain characters even if they serve no purpose in the main story at all. If there’s anything I do wish they would explain is whether or not King piccolo was truly of the demon race, and being of the demon race would have received the same treatment as Deborah in the afterlife being sent to a place other than hfil?
one key thing to remember is magic’s place in original dragonball a gag fighting anime and its later adaptation to Z an action fighting anime in early dragonball magic and ki were more or less different versions of the same thing in a sort of goblin buyag kind of deal in late dragonball into Z onward we see magic in its more modern form as its own separate ability ki control allows one to push limits and boundaries within the laws of reality which can sometimes cross into somewhat magical feats like flexing a hole into reality in order to reach a level of power one must walk a path to that power and in order to overpower another your power must exceed theirs if even for an instant magic lets one move outside of boundaries and step aside from power creating direct actions regardless of all that surrounds them imagine if you will a article game and there are two players with cheat engine going both players are unkillable player 1 set his stats so high that due to the game’s damage threshold mechanic he can never take damage from anything in the game, this is our ki user like vegeta or krillin. player 2 simply turned off his death flag so no amount of damage or direct scripted event can kill him, this is our magic user like buu or babidi. player 3 is an admin with the developer console open perusal all of this happen, this is our godly ability user like the namek dragon clansmen or whis.
What if GoDs are chosen from mortals is because they NEED some degree of attachment in order to fill the role? Like if it were just Buu, perhaps Buu was an early iteration of the destroyer god but since he was just a “demon” basically he had no attachments, he wasn’t born from that realm = reality. Each of the gods have some sort of attachment.. maybe that’s what keeps them from destroying everything because why tf not? I’m a destroyer and I’m not from here.
I imagine destruction is a form of using magic and ki together. It’s why its limited under the same restrictions of Ki such as not being able to be done on beings more powerful then yourself. Its magic aspect comes in the sense of being able to do it instantly and without much warning. Techniques that use destruction varies on the mix of magic to Ki, where as gods of destruction use more Ki than magic but Zeno uses more Magic then Ki. It also fits in to the rules as pure magic, as from the dragon balls, can counteract this Ki-Magic Hybrid
I thought it was so cool when they used the evil containment wave in the future Trunks arc. It was so fitting, given Zamasu’s underestimation of mortals, that he could have been defeated by something that can be used by someone so weak (by comparison). And they made it pretty clear that it COULD have really worked.
Oh wow! That was super interesting. Like the ONE rule dragonball’s Ki techniques follow is that they cant overcome a huge gap of power. Krillin’s keinsan wasnt able to cut Perfect’s Cell neck because of the power gap. Hit’s time stop could barely contain Jiren, and only for a bit, after that Jiren broke through sheer force. Same with the other guy who stopped time in the freezer arc, but was treated as mdeium level grunt, his technique would never work on Freezer for example. I never realized that magical techniques dont obey this rule. If the mafuba was a Ki technique Master Roshi wouldnt have been useless in the tournament of power. Thanks for this article!
I was thinking about God Ki awhile back and your description of Brahmin really hit the nail on the head; God Ki does not ‘directly’ interact with the physical plane. So for example, you’re not lifting that boulder, but you’re affecting the infinite space ‘behind’ it and the boulder is just being led along as a result. When your training for the past 40-50 years is geared towards getting stronger, performing those same feats of strength while exerting no more physical force than to move a feather would be exceedingly difficult. Like when Whis sent Goku and Vegeta to train in the God Ki realm; they thought it’d be the same as if they were under 400x Gravity but they couldn’t move a finger until they realized that the ‘opposite’ rules applied.
At some point in og Dragon Ball anime (maybe different in the manga idk) I seem to remember it was stated that Master Roshi drank from the fountain of youth, and has significantly slowed his aging process. Which might have some divine connection itself. We even see that the Nameks can live for hundreds up to the low thousands of years, and it could be their inate magic that is responsible for that.
The one being not even once explored is Mr. Popo, I mean he can alway keep up with all the Character strength wise and makes fun of them when he trains them, it was never said how strong he really is or what the full extend of his Powers, Abilities and Magic is, he is not even once part of any Major event exept to train the Character which he always stomps, I wish they would explore him more
what is funny about poppo abilities, most of them are from wukong in the journey to the west, regeneration, creating clones from hair, even the circlet that attract lightning is a reference to the circlet that the monk used to control wukong, on that note you didnt even mention the magic staff, which seems to be indestructable, the magic cloud, and the magic fan that was mentioned in the classic, also mutten Roshi is so old because he had a phoenix
While not as strong I think transformation like what Puar and Oolong do are magic. I would say the same for fusion whether using earings or dance. And probably all psychic abilities like telepathy, telekinesis and clairvoyance because I don’t think they use ki but maybe they should be classified in their own category .
Zeno’s ability to erase universes, unless the manga otherwise stated and I’m wrong, but I’m under the impression he can erase the universes because he created them, that’s why he’s above all the other divine beings, because he’s God, God, with a capital G. That’s why he’s the Omni King, it isn’t that he’s just simply powerful and able to destroy things or some kind of racial ability. He’s the creator and destroyer of all the dragon ball multiverse.
They’re probably not descendants of zamala, because the namekians didn’t just create the dragon balls they made them from pieces of the Super Dragon balls. they basically just reverse engineered them, but they’re flawed because they’re knockoffs so most likely they’re not related to him. There’s a reason why the Dragon balls get smaller and less numerous the further you get away from namek because they have less material to work with.
I feel like 21 could become the greatest magic user… It seems sorta fitting for a majin scientist to be a master of science and magic… Also just think of how op she would be if she got ultra ego and spirit fision and hakai… She would be the most versatile fighter we have ever seen and the perfect counterpick to pretty much any fighter imaginable.. She is the counterpick for fused fighters thanks to spirit fision She has hakai so any non god or imortal being is instantly taken out And any other fighter would have to fight around her regen/ego hack to infinite power… She would literally be able to go all day and never lose unless they land a kill shot
I am Hermetic in that i see the universe in Certain Laws. I have adopted many religious Under-Standings to gain wisdom of how this infinite form created a materialistic matrix to move through. Thus saying my first DMT trip had guided me through mandalas of colors not expressed in this dimension as they pierce through around you in and out the geometry unfolds the reality not seen by the lapsed senses of humanity. To gain Divine Wisdom to process such an experience has taken me 10 years to come to fruition. A small fragment pieced into my multitude of information. One such after experiencing the book of enoch, the emerald tablets of thoth, i grabbed ahold of the horns and witnessed the cosmic dancer of absolution the Diaghram of GOD as you could say Ohm Namah Shiva… Advaita Vedanta. To understand Evil and Good are breath out breath in. One seems intentionally life giving the other death but to move you must have these. Dualism cannot succeed in war but in understanding of movement. God was Void God created ALL God walked upon ALL. It is to say closing all senses their is void. But human senses only capable of a fragment of depiction of reality around them. The mind creates the rest to fill in a fake dream.
as far as erasure from zenos goes, i would guess that since mortals can use scaled down versions of what angels can do, mortals can also only use scaled down versions of what the divine dragons can use. yet zenos created everything including the divine dragon right? so maybe erasure is a combination of them and its not scaled down at all because its the source of it. as far as why the divine dragon can undo something that someone more powerful did? the more powerful thing allows it to be reversed. its like deleting something on your pc and it goes into the recycle bin. its deleted. its gone. but it can be brought back only because the deletion process specifically put in a way to undo it. i think it said in the anime (so i could be wrong) that zenos knew goku’s team would win, and they would wish for everyone back. if the winner didnt make this specific wish, he would truly obliterate them all since they are on the chopping block anyways.
You know it’s bad to hide the facts you don’t like. Mutaito (the original user of Mafuba) wasn’t godly being, Roshi isn’t immortal, he literally died in db and was ressurected, tenshinhan and Goku could use mafuba too. Also you’ve missed magical artifacts like the bottle that seals you inside of it if you didn’t respond to your name called, or Gokus staff (idk how to spell the name correctly).
many things wrong here Destruction energy is still Ki just God ki and nature of ki has change think of Attributes in Naruto, Goku literally confirms that in the fight with Granola when Vegeta uses Destruction God Ki as for Ki its just basic internal energy seen in Wuxia, Ki is in every person and manifesting this ki is the first step into becoming a martial artist, this energy grows with training, the reason Aliens seem to grow stronger is due to the nature of their starting point and physiology, humans are born weak and have weak bodies compare to saiyans or any alien. manipulation of Time is also a Ki Technique = Hit uses it Roshi has no magic again its just Ki techniques.
ok bro here some mexi beem telling you that zarama was an entity like frezer .one of those that born directly from the colectivness of a planet, so zarama divided im self in the first namekian populatioin of the” in those times ‘ superbeautifull planet namek like and subcrive and all share more saludos amigo
It seems like DB is getting what I like to call the superman treatment, yea superman has kryptonite as a weakness but another super effective weakness is magic, if you cant over power him and or your enemies by brute force, powers/ energy, or technique then use magic (works every time) and whats pretty funny us how easy it is to implement magic into a story because even in reality magic makes no sense / has no type of logic at least none that we know of, it just exists and can be used and tells science to deal with it 😂
I love this article and I love the idea. But I still don’t think that ki or instant transmission is magic. The mafuba, majin stuff, of course – Edit: potara, popo, moro n namekian stuff too. But transformations, Angel stuff, i think those divine things are above and beyond(in the sense of being different, not always weaker)& (just not immune to) magic
The one thing that makes Magic confusing in Dragon Ball is that, most of the abilities that you listed as magic, aren’t explicitly stated to be magic. We don’t have an in depth explaination outlining what makes a normal ability that is performed with regular ki different from one from a magical ability. The only people who we can 100% for sure confirm are using magic, are Buu, Babidi, Dabura and Moro, becausw thy are stated as magic users. As well as items like the z-sword, potara, power pole and others are the only things we can say are magical, because objects have no Ki. But the rest it is just speculation in a sense that “Oh this looks like it could be magic therefore it must be magic”.
Majin is not race its a technique used by Bibidi and Bobbity Buu is only called Majin Buu because he was under the spell of Bibidi and Bobbity just like when Vegeta was under the spell he was called Majin Vegeta notice when Bobbity is killed Buu stopes being referred to as Majin Buu and is from then on only referred to as Buu kid Buu old Buu and so on
Can someone jus verify this with be really quick is chakra and ki different or the same? Like are they different systems all together or still the same thing jus different naming, I actually herd that chakra was supposed to be ki but chose chakra since they were too late to change it or something but someone please tell me the difference cuz I truly am tired of Naruto and they wanked out power sets
Majin magic and magic in general is one of the coolest secrets of the Dragon Ball franchise. I argue that Super Buu’s human extinction attack and Piccolo’s dialogue suggests that Buu’s precision surprised him because he thought Buu had attempted to use ki sensing rather than some kind of magic sensing
Not sure that hysterical strength is related to dopamine specifically. ESPN just did a great article on the science of hysterical strength, and the placebo effect through hypnotic suggestion had the greatest effect on strength increase. Would be interesting to see a study that introduces just dopamine tablets and monitors strength gains.
i disagree with the dopamine/serotonin stuff. i think babidi is like an evil counterpart of what someone like Guru or Elder Kai are.. they unlock your potential. When u allow Babidi to take control of you with his magic, you also enable him to unlock some potential from your rage or dark desires or darkness with his magic. I think Guru was only able to unlock the potential of those with pure hearts, and so my theory is babidi unlocks the potential of those who sell their soul or have that evil in them… the trade-off. it’s kind of like the devil’s story where he’s like give your soul to me and ill give you the riches, the fame, etc in return.. if i remember correctly he tried to seduce Jesus like that during his 40 day fast or travel or some shit my memory kinda vague on that
I don’t know if somebody already said it, but I also think that Babidis magic somehow eliminates doubt. When you habe doubt about a topic, everything you think, feel, decide and do in said topic is underlined by questions like “is this right? Why am I doing this? Could I do something else? What happens when I lose or win or surrender or whatever” and other stuff. And like I think all athletes know, you cannot perform well wenn you are insecure about what you do. No matter what – when you run but doubt your ability or motivation or the fate of you or the other runners, you won’t be as fast / agile like let me say, a beast. An animal who doesn’t think, but just feels the drive to RUN – and it runs. As fast as physically possible, it just does it. Same goes for every discipline or action – exams, sex, gaming, lifting, fighting. Doubt hinders you, and you fall back and don’t even come close to your full potential. Because WITHOUT doubt, we can achieve awesome things.
When talking about dopamine and adrenaline I personally like to think that’s how the kaioken works, as you have to first have the mental control to actually activate it (release controlled amounts of adrenaline) and the physical capability to control the increased energy output as with higher levels the strain is too great for long term use but with mental and physical training you gain more endurance when using it and become more efficient at modulating the released adrenaline. Just a thought I wanted to share 🙂.
Well if you think back to how gohan and krillin got their potential unlocked on namek by the elder, and how gohan got that even more unlocked in the kaioshin realm by Supreme Kai. I think Babidi’s magic works the same way as this, but obviously in the “Dark” way. Especially how you mentioned the fact that Bibidi & Babidi’s magic rivaled the Kai’s at on point in time. You’re able to see these two sides of magic flourish as parellels in the Buu saga with Gohan and Vegeta. Vegeta unlocks his underlying strength & potential through the use of Babidi’s Dark Magic, and Gohan unlocks his through the use of the Kai’s Light/Good magic.
I’ve always had the thought of if a human can control when we emit Serotonin and Dopamine basically “a controlled adrenaline rush” If we could that means you would be able to give yourself short or temporary burst of strength. Being a former athlete I wanted to be able to make myself have an adrenaline rush then be calm then have another in order to boost athletic performance but I never thought of any if this while playing sports so who knows if it works
The concept of dark magic in Dragonball always got me thinking of the possiblity of a Dark Super Saiyan. Aside from old school Broly and of course Goku Black in Super (even though he was just Zamasu in Goku’s body), we’ve never actually seen a pure evil Super Saiyan before, so the idea of a Super Saiyan fueled by dark magic or evil ki just always seemed cool to me. Picture like a Saiyan character who is the inverse of a regular Saiyan character in terms of power and appearance. This Saiyan could have blonde hair in their base form, and when they go Super Saiyan, their hair turns black, and maybe they have red eyes or some other unique physical characteristic, and their body emits this dark, nightmarish energy. That’s just my idea though.
What if everyone in the Tournament Of Power had the ability to go Mystic and Kaioken X20? Also if Gohan had SSJB? Goku already has Kaioken X20 SSJB, but also would Vegeta and Gohan, Frieza would go into his Golden form but with his buff form added on with Kaioken X20, Master Roshi would have his Buff form with Mystic and Kaioken X20, this also applies to Piccolo, Krillin, the Androids, etc., they all would go Mystic with Kaioken X20. I wonder how different the Tournament would be 😕
problem with the way that toriyama just creates these characters as it leads to the question “why were these guys when the shit went down!”questions like “where was beerus when the supreme Kai’s were getting slaughtered, where was broly when whis scanned the universe for saiyans, and are you saying that Goku black killed Jiren and the pride trooper’s!”in dragon Ball z we didn’t have this problem because the arcs weren’t that connected in a way that they affected each other but in super creating galactic characters with no explanation as where they were how they got there is creating plot holes on plot holes more questions than answers. am I right!
I’m not sure it has anything to do with Dopamine since humans in Dragon Ball can pretty dumb strong. The Z-senshi after training with Kami were pretty much all stronger than Raditz. Krillin after some powerups and being revived was able to slice off Freeza’s tail (granted he was distracted). I think it’s literally just Babidi using his magic to bring out the potential of people he controls since most characters can become pretty damn strong.
I’m currently re perusal Dragonball. Why haven’t they made it into an adventure style article game yet? So many DBZ games that are just fighter with the story, but I think an open world Dragonball game would be a major success if done correctly. I’m glad that super is kinda going back Tu basics with Moro you got a nice mix of Dragonball and DBZ in this most recent arch
Expanding on your idea about how he can influence dopamine and seratonin. There’s a hormone known as Cortisol which is a bit like adrenaline and is present when we experience stress. I.e, if you were relaxing and then all of a sudden a fire alarm went off, cortisol would pump around your body signaling for your body to stop relaxing, stop digesting food etc, and all your energy would be pumped to your muscles, and you’d gain hightened senses so to speak, to either fight or run.
The magic unlocking some biochemistry aspect is a pretty neat idea. I think it might also just be that by tapping into the sinful part of a person, babidi makes them of that singular purpose and now that the good and evil within a person is no longer conflicting that is portrayed as an increase in power. However since it is artificial (Babidis magic) that’s why they got this junkie veiny look. I also want to mention toppo’s god transformation as an example, when he renounced justice for destruction it unlocks his power. Same thing happens with ssbe, vegeta realigns himself with his pride as the saiyan prince and it pushes him past his limit. This is true to the old school dragonball mystic martial arts themes that toriyama was reconnecting to in the buu saga.
@Geekdom101 : hey, I just wanted to let you know that (as I understand the subject) while a panic induced release of chemicals on your brain (including adrenaline but also endocannabinoids-internally produced thc sort of- and opiods peptides like endorphins-basically opiods produced inside the body to help alleviate pain from exertion like strenuous exercise) which can and do allow a given person to go from using about 65% of total gross motor skills(running, jumping, hitting, etc…; as opposed to fine motor skills like writing or drawing) to something approaching full capacity. This kind of short term burst of near superhuman strength is often called “histerical strength”. However, the stories of a 120 lbs mother pulling a 3000 lbs car off their child in feats of adrenaline fueled superhuman strength are pretty much just urban legends. The most such a mother would be able to do is nearly max out their gross motor skills and lift maybe 35-45% more than they could usually. Then, after the opioid peptides, the endocannabinoids and the adrenaline wear off, they might find themself fairly severely injured; suffering ailments from muscle pulls/tears to cracked teeth from clenching their jaw too hard durring the feat of strength to damaging their neck or spine. Personally, I find science of pretty much all kinds fascinating and enjoy getting the chance to discuss it 🙂
Therefore Babidi’s spell doesn’t raise your power, but unleashes your mental restrains – it pushes your body into its limit sacrificing pain receptors (similarly as Berserk armour does to Guts). Sadly, Geekdom only described what magic does, but not how it works or what is it. Well, it’s Toriyama’s fault for leaving explanations aside. That’s why I hate unexplainable forces called magic. On the other hand, Full Metall Alchemist Brotherhood’s magic system is a kind of magic I accept.
I feel the dopamine theory is wrong. It’s more like Guru unleashing the protectal of people. Fights in dragonball have never been about mundane strength. Power comes from Ki control, exercise and training of the body strengthen this control and allows for greater feats. I do think other spells were added onto Spovavich later on to make him insanely durable. Hints why he didn’t die to a broken neck.
In all honesty, I took Babadi’s dark magic as another “selling your soul to the devil” cliche. It gives you power, but you lose yourself in the midst (amplifying one’s inner darkness). Plus the Xenoverse series re-used this gimmick in both the story mode and parallel quests. Out of everyone that fell under the spell, Vegeta was a unique case: Sure he may have wanted to settle the score with Goku at all costs, but he retained his humanity when dealing with Majin Buu (meaning with a strong enough willpower, you won’t be a mind slave).
Palpatine had the profound power of Force foresight, plus he was a Sith Master, which is, without the foresight ability, about as powerful as Yoda as the Grand Master. Beyond his Force powers, his aptitude for seeing future events unfold as he felt he had laid them was very advanced, thus his confidence in real time, thinking he could convince anyone of anything. If you thought you could predict the future, and it worked to the point where all of your plans unfolded perfectly and you become an Emperor of a GALAXY, it’d be easy to see how that particular ability could seduce him, leaving him vulnerable, and stupid.
@geekdom101 hey im curious just because i seen somewhere online that genjutsu from natuto would be able to defeat goku and vegeta and I always thought it would have no effect on them due to what vegeta displayed in this arc which I thought was complete control over babidis magic since babidi didnt make him do anything at all. Killing the civilians at the arena was in just a way to show goku he means buisness and i think babidi had no control over that. So personally I think sayians as strong as they were in the cell arc nd above wouldnt be affected by genjutsu due to the amount of physical nd metal training they already indured. Whats your thoughts on this
Behold, I come to you with the light and I do not feel the pain of your feelings But I have one chance I do not hear anything bad (six minutes, Slim Shady, open) I say something is happening, but I do not know If that means what I’m thinking about, then we have problems, serious problems, If you have girls like you, I do not want to do so This is what your doctor told you about I’m starting to feel like Rap, Rap God All my people suffered from the head at the last Who, then, thinks their weapons have enough time to grow? They said I did not know it as a robot, and they sent me to the Rapbot
The thing about “Magic” is that it defies logic and scientific reason. That’s why it’s magic. Yeah, you can try to give a more scientific explanation to a character’s magical abilities, but it’s not really necessary. His magic gives them a power boost during possession because it’s magic. We’re already dealing with a world that doesn’t makes sense on out real life scientific level, so when magic is involved, I just look at it as what it is, no explanations needed. On a side note, I would like an explanation on why Piccolo can’t create Dragon Balls. I know he’s meant to be part of the Warrior Clan and only Dragon Clan members can make dragon balls, by WHY is Piccolo part of the Warrior Clan? Piccolo Daimao was an evil Kami, created when Kami had to separate his evil from his body to become Kami. So Piccolo Daimao is literally just an evil clone of Kami, and thus a Dragon Clan Namekian. Piccolo Jr. is his son, and in a sense Kami’s son, with Piccolo Daimao’s life force infused in him. Wouldn’t this mean Piccolo Jr. is also a member of the Dragon Clan? What determines whether a Namekian is Dragon or Warrior Clan?
You know what I dont get….goku vs superman. It’s never an actual fight with straight forward feats and truth its always someone picking superman and not a consistent superman but a random hyped up superman that’s not even in the main continuity. And they include all of his past feats from past comics that’s not even part of his current history…its only one goku but it’s like 50 supermen. To me…regular ss goku from the android arc can beat him.
So… is the only reason Beerus is alive because the grand supreme kai is inside fat Buu? He dies if the Grand supreme kai dies right? The current supreme kai isn’t a grand supreme kai right? Or does it take every supreme kai dying for Beerus to die? Or is he the de facto grand supreme kai? The plot point of destroyers dying if the supreme kai does doesn’t make sense to me when there’s four of them and a kai above those four
It isn’t really “getting stronger” and it isn’t dopamine as much as adrenaline. Oddly, One Punch Man is closer to reality than you might think. Humans have a built in limiter that works the same way load specifications work for vehicles, buildings, and bridges. Simply, every single time you read “maximum weight capacity” on something, then the true maximum is a % above that. It’s more accurate to say “maximum guaranteed safe weight capacity.” An aircraft load capacity on paper might be 50,000kgs, but it could handle 150,000kgs and still fly. The human body is a structure with machinery. Normally, we are a certain strength, which can slowly increase or decrease based on exercise and diet. The true strength is blocked by this little thing called pain. Pain is what tells you that you are in a dangerous area for your capabilities. Each human is about 3x stronger than they normally are, but that would risk breaking your body, so you are limited by your brain through pain. Adrenaline blocks pain and allows you to pass your limits. The story of a mother SHIFTING(not lifting) a car is amazing to us, because we don’t associate mothers with physical strength. The body builder gets the same 3x increase as well (up to the structural limit of bone, at least) but that isn’t quite as whimsical. A strong guy getting stronger isn’t a headline. There are instances of heavy steroid users having muscles so strong they snap the bones they are attached to. There are always plateaus. For your average mother, it’s sheer muscle power, since bones tend to be one density fits all.
