Does Necrovalley Impact Mystic Tomatoes?

Necrovalley is a powerful spell card in Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel, which can be activated by summoning a “Gravekeeper” monster and sending it to the Graveyard. The effect of “Madolche Mewfeuille” is still activated when destroyed by an opponent and sent to the Graveyard, but the effect is negated by Necrovalley. All Gravekeeper monsters are dark and have 1500 or lower attack, which perfectly fits Mystic Tomato’s requirement. With Necrovalley on the field, you can easily swarm the field with 2000.

Necrovalley received an errata in the OCG a couple months back, and it is coming along with Duelist Saga. The changes include allowing all “Gravekeeper’s” monsters to gain 500 ATK and DEF, and cards in either player’s Graveyard cannot be banished. Exosisters alone will fill this niche, even though their grave hate is split between 4 monsters instead of one field spell.

Necrovalley has a long history marred by inconsistent rulings that seem to contradict each other and flip-flop every time the card was reprinted in the TCG. The text itself has undergone equally confusing reversals.

Necrovalley can only be activated once per turn and can be protected with the new Imperial Tombs of Necrovalley Counter Trap Card. It negates cards that target cards in the Graveyard, such as premature burial and call of the haunted, not those that resolve in the graveyard.

Necrovalley does not negate effects that are activated when a card is sent to the Graveyard or that activate IN the Graveyard or that count cards. It also does not negate effects that do not specifically designate a target, such as flipping a Yomi.

While “Necrovalley” is active on the field, the following rules apply: no effect can take a card in the Graveyard and remove it from play, no exceptions.

Can you summon two treeborn frogs?

During your Standby Phase, you cannot Special Summon a second copy of a monster like “Treeborn Frog” or “The Immortal Bushi” if you have multiple copies in your Graveyard. The effect of “Armed Sea Hunter” to negate effects is continuously applied, and if it destroys a monster like “Treeborn Frog”, its effect in the Graveyard will be negated. Similarly, if “Dark Ruler Ha Des” is on the field when a Fiend-Type monster destroys a monster with an effect from the Graveyard, their effects will be negated. Even if “Dark Ruler Ha Des” is destroyed, the effect of cards like “Sinister Serpent” will remain negated. These rules are outlined in the Gallery and other Rulings.

Is the Bystial Lubellion good?

Lubellion, a Level 8 Light Dragon with 2500 ATK and 3000 DEF, requires a Level 6 or higher DARK Dragon monster tributed to be Special Summoned. Special Summoning Lubellion from the hand or grave requires giving up one of your Bystials, which will activate the Bystial grave effect when it hits the grave. The Bystial search is useful for facilitating Lubellion’s summon from the grave, making it a deck thinner.

Lubrillion can place a Branded Continuous Spell/Trap face-up on the field from the Deck, such as Branded Regained or Branded Beast. It is a deck thinner of two at minimum and potentially three if paired with Magnamhut. The Bystial Lubellion has great synergy with Bystial monsters and Branded Spell/Trap cards, allowing players to run them and get to them all once they get Lubellion.

The week ends with the big boss of the Bystials and the evolution of Lubellion the Searing Dragon as The Bystial Lubellion. The Bystial Lubellion cannot be Normal Summoned or Set and must be Special Summoned from the hand or graveyard by tributing a Level 6 or higher DARK Dragon. It can only be summoned once a turn, so no spamming the field with them.

The Bystial Lubellion is a great card for Bystial/Branded Decks as it gets to your Bystials as soon as possible. Decks just using Bystials might not need it, but Decks like Chaos strategies, Dragon Decks, or Branded Despia will love using the full Bystial package with 3 Lubellion.

What is the difference between Necrovalley and Rikka Princess?

The Rikka Princess card has the ability to be shuffled into the deck from either the hand or the graveyard, thereby negating any monster effect. It is possible to activate this effect from the graveyard while Necrovalley is on the field. The Necrovalley card states, “Negate any card effect that would move a card in the Graveyard to a different place.”

Do mystic frogs Despawn?

The Mystic Frog is a unique creature that cannot be caught with a Bug Net, making it unsuitable for craftable cages. However, if Purification Powder is thrown on it, it transforms into a Mystic Slime town pet, and respawns naturally after being killed. Only one Mystic Frog can be alive at a time. The Lifeform Analyzer can detect this entity, but attempting to catch it with a Bug Net will cause it to teleport to a random location.

Does Necrovalley stop Macro Cosmos?

Cards such as Macro Cosmos do not target Graveyard Cards nor do they remove them from play. Such cards create a condition that prevents the sending of cards to the Graveyard. Necrovalley has no effect on these cards, as they do not affect the Graveyard.

Does royal oppression negate vayu?

The text explains that “Royal Oppression” is a chain that negates the effect of “Vayu”, a monster that is in the Graveyard. This is because “Vayu” is in the Graveyard and cannot be destroyed by royal oppression. Royal oppression has two effects: destroy the card that summons the monster or destroy the summoned monster and the card that brought it. However, it cannot destroy the monster when it tries to touch the field. The text also clarifies that royal oppression chains to the activation of Vayu’s effect, not the summoning of the monster. Therefore, Vayu is not resolved and is not removed from play.

Does Necrovalley stop Vayu?

Necrovalley is a powerful monster that can shut down commonly-played monsters, such as Scrap Chimera, Debris Dragon, and XX-Saber Faultroll, which allow for easy Synchro Summoning by Special Summoning monsters from the Graveyard. This can be a significant blow to Decks like Debris Plants, Scraps, and X-Sabers, as well as Blackwings by stopping Blackwing – Blizzard the Far North and Blackwing – Vayu the Emblem of Honor. Monster Reborn is useless while Necrovalley is on the field, and Decks using Dark Armed Dragon and Chaos Sorcerer face significant problems.

The Gravekeeper Deck’s recent success is partly due to the popularity of Trap Stun and Seven Tools of the Bandit. Many Duelists may not have the necessary cards to destroy Necrovalley, but this can be fixed by replacing Necrovalley with other Field Spells or using Gladiator Beast Gyzarus or XX-Saber Hyunlei.

Playing aggressively can help avoid Royal Tribute, as monsters like Cyber Dragon, XX-Saber Boggart Knight, and Blackwing – Bora the Spear have Special Summon effects that allow for easy playout of more monsters and draw out the Gravekeeper Duelist’s most important defensive cards, allowing for bigger tricks.
