Dodge chance is a defensive stat that grants an attacker a chance to miss their attacks, but not targeted DoTs or ground effects. It works on all attack types, including melee attacks, ranged attacks, ranged spells, and ground-based AoE. However, it only works on weapon attacks, not spells.
Different enemies have Glitterdust abilities that eliminate dodge, making it inconsistent to rely on dodge. The Dodge Chance Defensive Stat affects every aspect, unique armor and weapon, skill, and paragon that affects the Dodge.
Different enemies have different chances to dodge attacks, such as Desecrator, Plagued, Poison Enchanted abilities, and Night Elves with an innate 1 chance due to Quickness. Dodge Attacks apply to attacks and are rolled after evasion and is not connected to the attacker’s accuracy. Dodge Spell Damage applies to spells.
Modifiers to Chance to Suppress Spell Damage apply to Chance to Dodge Spell Hits at 50 of their value. The maximum chance to dodge spell is 30 for spell damage and 40 for attacks.
In Classic World of Warcraft, both block and dodge are an RNG chance to completely avoid taking damage from an attack. Increase your dodge rating to increase your chance to dodge. Dodge chance does not affect incoming spell attacks, such as Fireball, Fossil Strike, and Mosquito Swarm. It does affect weapon attacks and skills, but it is not designed to reduce damage but to offer a chance for certain attacks to be ignored. Area of effect spells can also be ignored.
📹 ONE MASSIVE Secret Dodge Mechanic NO ONE KNOWS | Black Myth Wukong
This one secret dodge trick mechanic truly changes EVERYTHING! I have never seen this in any other game, dodge …
Can the force block spells?
A wall of force spell creates an invisible barrier that is immune to damage and can be destroyed by disintegrate, rod of cancellation, sphere of annihilation, or mage’s disjunction spell. Breath weapons and spells cannot pass through the wall, but dimension door and teleport effects can bypass it. The wall blocks ethereal and material creatures, but ethereal creatures can navigate through it. Gaze attacks can operate through the wall.
The caster can form the wall into a flat, vertical plane, with an area of up to one 10-foot square per level. If the wall’s surface is broken, the spell fails. The wall can be made permanent with a permanency spell.
Does evasion work on spells?
Evading an attack prevents damage and other harmful effects, including status ailments and stun. Only melee and ranged attacks can be evaded, and spells are automatically hit. The chance to evade is based on the defender’s evasion rating compared to the attacker’s accuracy. The chance to evade is limited to 0 to 95. Two modifiers bypass evasion: Cannot Evade enemy Attacks (e. g., Unwavering Stance keystone or Ezomyte Peak Quality), and attacks using Hits cannot be evaded.
Does uncanny dodge affect spells?
The tool is effective against a variety of attacks, including those of a magical nature. However, it is not effective against spells or effects such as fireballs that inflict damage after a saving throw. It is possible that the tool may be disabled or blocked by third-party extensions, such as those designed to block advertisements, or by browser settings that do not allow cookies.
Does evasion dodge spells?
It should be noted that evasion does not affect spells. Additionally, the term “ranged attacks” is used to describe bow attacks and potentially wand attacks. In the event of a one-versus-one encounter with a low-level boss and subsequent Ice Lance attack resulting in the character’s demise, it is not advisable to utilize this ability, as it will have no effect.
Is it possible to dodge Avada Kedavra?
The Killing Curse is a spell that causes instantaneous death and is one of the three Unforgivable Curses. Its incantation is Avada Kedavra. The only known counter-spell is sacrificial protection, which uses love magic. The curse cannot be intercepted by another spell, except in Priori Incantatem situations where the caster and opponent’s wands and spells are locked together. An explosion or green fire may result if the spell hits something other than a living target.
Only two wizards have survived the curse: Harry Potter and Tom Riddle. Harry survived two direct attacks in 1981 and 1998, thanks to his mother’s self-sacrificing love and Voldemort’s blood protection. Voldemort was notorious for using the curse regularly and indiscriminately. The Killing Curse was invented during the early middle ages by Dark witches or wizards to quickly and efficiently kill opponents in duels.
What is the difference between dodge and evasion?
A dodge is a relatively simple evasive maneuver, whereas an evade typically requires a more elaborate and strategic approach. Ducking is defined as the act of crouching under an approaching object. Shirk, on the other hand, is a deliberate evasion, often presented as an excuse. While these terms are not entirely synonymous, they do possess a degree of interchangeability, with each term retaining a distinct meaning.
How useful is Longstrider?
Longstrider is a spell that can speed up long travel times, especially when chasing down foes on horseback or flying across open waters. It can be cast on all party members’ mounts once leveled up. Longstrider is particularly useful when riding a controlled mount in combat, as it applies to all speeds equally. It increases walking, climbing, jumping, and swimming speed, making it useful for crossing large bodies of water in battles. The spell is particularly useful if the DM ignores movement speed outside of combat.
Does evasion only work on aoe?
Evasion in D and D 5E permits evasive maneuvers against effects that do not target a specific area, such as the fiery breath of an ancient red dragon or the effects of ice storm spells. This ability is available at the 7th level. Those who succeed at an evasion saving throw suffer only half the damage and are able to mount a swift defense against these effects.
What is the dodge rule in 5e?
In D and D 5e, PCs can use the dodge action to avoid enemy attacks, imposing disadvantage on all attack rolls against them. This action also gives PCs an advantage on Dexterity saving throws to avoid hostile spells or effects. However, dodging only works if PCs can see the attack coming. In combat, PCs can choose to take the dodge action instead of using an action, casting a spell, or using their abilities.
Attack rolls against them are made with disadvantage, as long as PCs can see the attack coming. Additionally, PCs have an advantage on Dexterity saving throws, which measure their ability to avoid harmful effects and are often forced by hostile spells or enemy abilities.
Does dodge affect spells?
Dodge is a passive ability that prevents the entire melee swing from being triggered. It is a crucial skill for tanking players, as it only allows close-range melee attacks to be dodged. Players can only dodge attacks if they are facing their opponent, but mobs can dodge attacks from behind. Incapacitated targets, such as stunned ones, cannot dodge. To increase dodge chances, players can increase their dodge rating, which increases their effective chance to dodge or dodge percent(). The level of their opponent and the amount of dodge a player has are also influenced by their class, level, and dodge rating.
How many times can I uncanny dodge?

Your vids are great…. I find myself sorting through the feed to find yours, for each of the bosses that give me trouble beyond a few tries. I’m weirdly hesitant to subscribe to stuff, but you got mine and for good reason. Always great stuff and from what I’ve seen, without cheesing. Wukong is such a great game, and I definitely appreciate your help
There is also a massive advantage, to dodge rolling towards the enemy. Getting behind him, and striking from there. Being in front always draws continual aggressiveness and damage chances from the enemy. Getting behind them causes a lull often, which allows for crucial seconds to attack, drink, cast, etc.
This is actual, usually information. The reason being is. When you dodge while holding direction. It actually off-puts you, in certain instances. While, it’s trying to put you into position, you’re changing that direction. If you’re facing an enemy, who is throwing attacks in multiple directions. If you don’t roll into that direction, you get hit. Oppose to standing still and dodging the attacks. And timing is key too. Particularly with perfect dodge.
Yeo, this is what I do. In other games, I was so used to putting directional input but I found better results by letting the game choose for me–if I get my timing right. Combine this with the fact of their “parry” system or counterattack for each stance, it’s been so fun. The smash and thrust have the best IMO. Smash allows you to block the attack and issue your own heavy attack and you take zero damage. Thrust allows you to remove yourself from their reach but follow with a nice heavy thrust. Pillar I find a little weird. It’s a two-parter. You don’t disengage completely but the heavy counter does a two hit that always seem to catch the boss off-guard, if you will. Anyway, I love the combat.
DUDE YOU’RE THE BEST! I’m gonna go test this right now, you’re the MAN! ❤❤❤ Also dude. I really hope you’re reading this: PLEASE NEVER QUIT! Your website is so fantastic! Your voice, your presence, your impeccable knowledge of all these games! I consider you an ally, in these gaming conquests. Your aid cannot be understated. And you’re gonna blow UP, I can feel it. Sorry, TLDR: You’re incredible, never quit.
Yop great tips, i found it in the begging trying step back like in Souls game, it’s very usefull! for an exemple when your a close of Noble Whiterobe, while he prepare is turnig waves attack, directionnal dodge is a bad mistake. dodge only save me a lot of time because im not confortable to not have a guard in this game and rolling only is nightmare for me.
Indeed sir. Once I realized this, it was a game changer. Get your blindfold from the monks in chapter three. Galeguard bracers and boots equipped with Rat Imperial Guard spirit and you got yourself a perfect dodge/focus build. I used this build on the last boss my first run thru. Along with Serpantscale Battlerobe, still sporting it heh. Can’t beat that health recovery perk.
So far I haven’t seen any do any doge and focus build. That what using and I’m in new game plus. If your like me and don’t care for all those other build. Focus is the key to beating every thing. The faster and quicker you can gain focus you can beat everything with 3 focus points. Your armor set does help as well.
Perfect dodge timing is a lot later than most souls titles, I’d prob compare it to the Stellar blade parry timing (parry, not dodge). The mirage demonstrates it perfectly, the animation incl the mirage is meant to give the dodge a cinematic *too slow, bish*. Letting it move the character will always put you in a punish position. Also noticed that the light finisher also knocks enemies on their arse if you perfect dodge into the final hit of the combo. Not a stagger but straight on their arse. Least with not-able,and firemanbear, and the frogs.
I like to call people out on their 💩 but I can’t on this one because last night I noticed this myself. We are so use to “directional dodging” it’s just muscle memory. This game you can just dodge without any direction and it you do a perfect dodge it will move you were you need to be with no input direction
That’s very interesting, it’s like an assisted dodge, and I always tend to end up at the worst spot when I’m controlling the direction. And maybe having to deal with only pressing one button at the right time can help with really fast and attack spammer bosses, like the freaking mantis lol. Definitely gonna give it a try. Thanks as always!
My problem with the game is with big bosses like the bear you can not roll between the legs. Its an invisible wall and creates a minor rubberband effect. I had to adjust my tactics as it would place you back into the bosses grasp. I like the game dont get me wrong but this is poor design. You can always tell a good boss design game especially on large bosses if you can go through the middle of the legs. Its an old gamer score system of coding.
