NEVER pick up something for a woman that drops it. For example a water bottle. They work together on a train and try to surround you by appearing to be so polite to let you go before them while exiting a train for example. I had a young pregnant girl on a train in Italy suddenly drop a water bottle. My friends and I were already suspicious as we were approaching our stop. We all just stood there, looking at the bottle laying on the ground. 😂
A group of three or more girls tried and targeted me on the metro today, they quickly scurried away and pretended they couldn’t understand English when I threatened to break all the fingers on the one trying to get into my rucksack. I got robbed in turkey in the train too. By Syrian women dressed all in black and they pushed me in different directions, one on each side and one in the back. I was with my sister in Paris. We are both from New Zealand but she lived in England since she was 22 and I was visiting her. All this to say that locals need to have their eyes open as well not just us tourists.

I was visiting Paris some years ago a train station near the louvre museum in Paris. I was about to go down a really long escalator when I felt something on my back pocket. I suddenly turned around and saw a group of mostly girls around 15 years old, one of them had her hands around my waist. I instantly realised what was happening and grabbed my wallet from my pocket. I yelled at them but realised there was nothing I could do about it and thanked my lucky stars I reacted in time. I have never ever kept my wallet in my back pocket ever since.

London, I saw someone take something out of a woman’s OPEN rucksack on the bus, I observed for a while whilst the pickpocket went into the bag again and eventually got up to inform the woman that her bag is open and someone has their hand in it and has already taken something out. It didn’t work out too well for me, she treated me as suspicious, treated me as if I was the thief and ran away from me not realising that I was trying to do her a favour. A similar thing happened whilst helping an old lady cross the road, someone called the police on me claiming that I had taken her purse from her shopping bag whilst helping her cross. I mind my own business these days.
This is very common un paris, girls try to come around you and then take your belongings specially your DSLR camera, or most most probably they will ask you for a cigarette and try to act friendly ..looking at your bag and mobile phone etc, they will snatch your mobile and run away or ask you to pay them. This usually happens near the touristic places, and they dont speak english…just be ware and dont be alone…
I lived in Paris when I was young. Went to University there and worked there. Then I went back to live there for for a while with my kids years later. It was not the same. Very unsafe. We were always followed by Roms who wanted a dollar. Anywhere we went. They would make a circle around us and prevent us from walking. Paris was a dream of mine after a few days there I wanna leave so bad that was the longest 2 weeks of my life. Pick pockets homeless graffiti gangs I literally have a picture looking at a guy trying to rob us when I was taking a picture of the eifel tower. The danger not worth it there is no police on streets and when I was there a person was stabbed randomly on the street. Is worse than Brasil there at least is just for money or material items no one randomly stabbed people walking on streets. We were in Paris this weekend and a group of girls tried to separate me and my husband while we on line 6 at the metro. My husband kept trying to get by but each way he moved she tried to block him. I grabbed my husband’s hand and in a loud voice said, “EXCUSE ME”. She got out of the way and looked up at another girl. They moved away from us and got off at the next stop. When we got to the Eiffel Tower stop they were already there looking for more targets. They didn’t get off at the stop. They just got into another car since I had “made” them. My husband said, “I wonder why she wouldn’t let me by”. I told him because she was trying to rob him. So glad I had bought him that anti theft bag and he had it in correctly.

The series “see” was phenomenal! It deserved to have way more seasons than 3, because the plot hadn’t been done before. Every person was blind except for a select number of people. perusal them fight wars, communicate, build cities, travel, and basic everyday things with everyone being blind was interesting and entertaining. The war scenes have tons of action and badass warriors. Some people have special gifts that they excel in and make them an asset to have on your side. This is probably one of the best acting roles Jason Mamoa has ever done. His character BaBa Voss was a legend warrior, he was a master swords man, and his fighting style and technics was so badass. It was like that character was written for him, nobody could’ve brought it to life as good as he did. If you haven’t seen it yet, I promise you won’t regret it, and will be so entertained.
Fear the Walking Dead has been on since 2015, not just 2015 as you seem to indicate. I also found it to be the equivalent of The Walking Dead in many respects. And Jericho deserved another season. As someone here noted, Colony was cut short and deserved another season too. The 100 went weird when it became a space voyage adventure instead of staying on Earth. Revolution was also an unfinished piece. Fear the Walking Dead and Revolution are superior to See and Sweet Tooth, and who knows which of the short ones you put in the list are going to disappear prematurely.
The TV series ‘Survivors’ (1978-1981) remains one of the all time best. A disease (the opening credits suggest it was created in a lab) kills most of humanity, the series follows one group of survivors in the aftermath. Deemed ‘too realistic’ to be re-shown they did a re-boot that was so bland it sank without trace. It was very ‘real’ and covered a wide range of issues, for example one woman says she doesn’t want to get pregnant in a world without hospitals.
Seeing how the narrator doesn’t give an opinion on if they’re worth perusal, how many seasons they are or if the story is finished, I thought I’d give my take on it. (00:26) Falling Skies: Brilliant show, 5 seasons long and they finish the story. Watched it twice. (01:16) Colony: Brilliant show, 3 seasons but they didn’t finish the story properly, it just needed one more season. (02:07) The Last Ship: Started off really good, went downhill. 5 seasons (that I know of) but I gave up after season 2. (02:56) Station Eleven: Not watched it yet but heard good things. (03:42) See: Excellent show, 2 seasons so far and both been very good. A third and final season is due out August 2022. (04:29) The 100: Probably my favourite, brilliant show! 7 seasons and they finish it completely! I’ve watched all 7 twice! (05:17) Sweet Tooth: Not seen this yet. (06:06) Jericho: Old show now and only 2 seasons but I really enjoyed it. The show was never finished off so be prepared if you watch it, frustrating. (06:58) Into The Badlands: Not watched it yet but heard good things. (08:45) The Walking Dead: Started off one of the best shows I ever watched, multiple seasons long with 11 seasons (this being the last) but also spin-off shows (more planned too) with Fear The Walking Dead, 7 seasons so far and The Walking Dead World Beyond, 2 seasons and completed. The trouble with TWD is it just gets “samey”, it’s just the same thing over and over each season. Protagonists encounter bad guys, whole season long they fight bad guys culminating in them winning but with the loss of 1 or more characters and a cliff hanger into the next season (usually the next bad guys) and repeat.
Revolution was underrated and SUCH a good post apocalyptic show. Also this is going to be an unpopular opinion but Znation is SO MUCH BETTER than “the walking dead”. Znation is another zombie tv show but it has comedy in it which I really enjoy and for those who like different kinds of zombies they have a ton of different versions of zombies which is really interesting. If you’ve never seen Znation you should check it out.
This got me interested in The Last Ship…..I’m gonna have to check that one out. The colony also seems interesting enough, I checked it out once before but the pilot didn’t quite grab me. I might give it another try. For the rest I’m glad to see Falling Skies on the list, it’s a show I think rather fondly of. First two seasons are great, the rest is a bit meh and in some ways even pretty bad. Totally agree with The Walking Dead being number 1 though.
The Walking Dead and The 100, worth perusal. I wish some one make new ones, good as those two. Everything else in that list is not watchable for me. A good Postapocalyptic movie/series, requre alot of money for CGI and good actiors, fallowing a good story – good writers. Its a lot harder than it looks to combine all those things and get a trully something that will catch you inside the screen and make you feel part of it. Hope they`ll make some soon 🙂

Falling Skies and Colony are among my favorite series. Colony deserved a proper final season, but at least they gave viewers enough closure that it didn’t fee like it ended on a cliffhanger. Falling Skies was great throughout and came to a proper and well-deserved ending. I know some people think it lost its way in the later seasons, but the same could be said for most of the shows on this list – especially TWD. At least Falling Skies stayed true to its premise and maintained some sense of momentum all the way to the end.

Sci-Fi fan here. I can’t believe the premise of most of these. I’ve even watched some of them. Colony is believable, but ends unresolved, halfway through it’s plot at the end of season 3. You’d think a review would manage to note that! The only one I’d add is ’12 Monkeys’. Apart for ’12 Monkeys’ & Colony I can’t recommend any.
Apart from Jericho, I watched all of these, including honorable mentions. Only Sweet Tooth show is still ongoing from all these shows. The other 9 +honorable mentions are over, except Fear the Walking Dead, which will end very very soon and will not be renewed for season 9. This article is just over 1 year old. Here are some updates/additional TV Shows for fans of post apocalypse or just a screwed up world: -Invasion 2021 (sort of an apocalypse, but more like a start of it) -The Last of Us (true post apocalypse, I doubt anyone who watches TV shows hasn’t heard of this one) -Silo (still questionable for renewal, because of writers’ strike, so there is only 1 season) -The Handmaid’s Tale – this is not really post apocalypse, but the world is fucked as fertility is a huge problem so the US is no more but instead is ruled by a new religious government, a Theocracy type of politics of a country called Gilead. Lastly, there are offspins of The Walking Dead universe, like offspin with Darryl, offspin called “the World Beyond”, but this is really for the diehard fans. You won’t see anything really new in these shows. Darryl offspin is okay, but the World Beyond is crappy.
#1 is absolutely number one, but besides that, The 100 (rough start, but did well thereafter), Sweet Tooth, The Badlands, and Station 11 (the latter two amazing but too artistic and repertoire for the mainstream), this is more of a B-list than anything, with the shows not making it past two or three seasons (or if they did no one knows it). I enjoyed Falling Skies for a while, but you could tell when direction and writing changed, and it got a bit loony towards the end. Colony had great potential, but got canned. See had great production value but it was a ridiculous premise. Jericho… oh boy was that bad; reminded me of what The Dome would be. The Last Ship was decent, but followed the “U-S-A!” nonsense pattern of movies like Stealth, making it unbelievable and entirely predictable. Anyway, fun article. Was interesting to see the choices even though I disagree most are top-ten material.
Falling skies was a good show. I liked that they took the ‘alien invasion’ idea in a different direction and started the story after the initial invasion, and during the occupation. What I did NOT like is that it seemed that the story continued between seasons when we couldn’t watch it and when the next season started there was so much that was different from when the previous season ended I spend a couple of episodes trying to figure out what was going on. I have not seen Colony. The last ship started pretty good. I haven’t seen any episodes beyond season two. I have not seen Station 11. The 100 started out pretty good as well. Again, I haven’t watched any episodes past season two. Jericho started out pretty good “” “” I started perusal The Badlands. Idk, it was ok, didn’t entertain me as much as I thought it would. Maybe I’ll give it another try. The Walking Dead started out great, and went strong for several seasons. Then someone else took over running the show, and apparently some had hippie-esque ideas (keeping Neagan alive after everything he did? Really?!) and sometimes it seemed they were out of ideas entirely (a couple of seasons they would use three or four episodes to draw out a little bitty sub-plot the solution to which was, at best, anticlimactic and could be considered disappointing). I think I stopped perusal it there seasons back.
The Walking Dead will always be my favorite ❤️🥰 while i missed Rick, Glenn, Carl, Hershel, T-Dogg, Andrea, Dale and the rest of the old gang from earlier seasons, i had no problems continuously perusal, even after Andrews ‘Rick Grimes’ exit in the middle of Season 9 up until the end of Season 11 ❤️👍 the journey is worth it. Plus, once kirkman decided to end the comics run at #193 issues in 2019, then it wasn’t long till the show started to catch up and reach the end of the line as well 👍
Walking dead beats hands down all the characters are perfect from the good to the bad every episode keeps you wanting more and more the acting is immensely surberb by all the actors iv never been into zombie films but walking dead it’s fantastic I can’t praise this enough it’s AMAZING love all you guys thank-you for one hell of a show x
“La Brea” shouldn’t be in any ‘Top” list, unless it’s ‘top cheesiest’ or something bad! 🤭 T”La Brea” is SUCH garbage!…. Which sucks, coz i still can’t stop perusal it!.. 🤬 (Coz it’s a great concept & i love anything sci-fi-ish)… ….buut… The WRITING is so AWFUL and most of the acting is also SO AWFUL, it’s HARD TO WATCH…. Ppl are constantly talking like some B-grade script, saying corny, cheesy, utterly cliche stuff and doing almost everything the opposite of how real ppl behave… ^ The last straw, for me was this guy… a psychologist, is trying to ‘talk a woman down’, who has a rock and it threatening… she drops the rock and says, ‘give me a moment’… He says, ‘OK’ and promptly turns his back on her… I mean come on, this sorta nonsense is every other scene and is painful to watch…
Lots of great programs on this list. Most started out great but didn’t know when to end….Like TWD. Others, like The Colony, ended too soon and could have done with another season to tie up loose ends. Then you get stories like Dark Skies which did a good job of telling the whole story without ever feeling like it was rushed or dragging things out. Jericho also did a great job of this. Jeremiah, mentioned by many others, was great to start but changed over time. The Last Ship first season story line was excellent. Sad to see Rhona Mitra leave. While engaging, the show just wasn’t as good after that.
The 100 is most underrated series…It should be in list of GOT, Vikings level series 💥 It’s mainly shows the each individual perspective and their own reasons instead of making it One is a bad guy and one is a good guy…Ofc Main character are there but they have more reasonable choices instead of Selfish choices for their own… The walking dead is soo natural ofc it’s already famous which it deserves
Revolution had potential, but it was wasted. Second season had some interesting ideas “Come see the last Friends castmember!”, but they lost the plot with nanobots. As a kid, I loved Ark II, a post apocalyptic kids show on Saturday mornings. It would great if they could make a Metro 2033 mini-series focusing on the Last Light storyline (lots of travel involved). There should a top ten of apocalyptic article games. Curious that they left off Defiance. Was it cheesy or solid? A lot of aliens in old St. Louis, but not many minorities…
The ‘TWD’ series, got a great start, and really felt like more of a love letter to the George A. Romero movies. But then, as the seasons went by, the series became so much more of the same. So much so that I even stopped perusal. I only stopped to watch a few episodes, the boring episodes, episodes really relevant to the story, I continued. Now comics are a thousand times better. There are series on this list that are better than ‘TWD’!
“COLONY”, while being EXTREMELY interesting in it’s socio-political narrative construction, ended VERY badly. no coherent or credible resolution. 4.5 stars “TWD” simply dragged on pointlessly after a stunning & brilliant 4 or 5 seasons. 5 stars until glen & abraham are executed; then MAYBE 1.5 stars. “REVOLUTION” was almost execrable except for giancarlo esposito (who had the BEST lines & pretty much always manages to steal the show no matter what he’s in). otherwise an abomination & a wasted opportunity. 1.5 stars AT BEST. “THE LAST SHIP” is not about the last ship but about the last AMERICAN warship & WAAAAY better than it might appear to the casual viewer only aware of it from trailers. 4.5 stars. “JERICHO” is exciting but alas, very poorly & abruptly resolved. 4 stars. “FALLING SKIES” is phenomenal, eerie, gruesome, horrific & gritty. 4.5 stars. i cannot recommend “SEE” highly enough; special props to ALL the cast especially sylvia hoeks who turns in a phenomenal performance that gets under your skin. 5 stars “the 100” has a tediously dragging 1 dimensional 1st season but if you can slog through that until the entire production & writers staff are dumped you will be WELL rewarded. 4.5 stars. “station eleven”, adapted from the eponymous novel, is moving & well cast. 4 stars. read the novel, it’s rather good. not really certain what to say about “BADLANDS” except that it’s VERY stylized, elegant, intriguing & has good production values. but it’s comic book fare so be apprised.
“Jericho” started out so strong, but then the producers tried to write the show when a writers’ strike hit. They couldn’t do it, and the whole thing just fell apart. Such a disappointment. The Lost Ship had a great premise, but its jingoistic execution and silly dialogue made it unwatchable. Another disappointment. I couldn’t get past the first sesaon of, “The 100.” Too much YA Teen Drama crap. I understand it gets much better, later, though. The setting of, “Into the Badlands” was kinda silly, but the fight choreography was top-shelf! 😎 There’s no way a neo-feudalist society would last five centuries. Sorry. “Containment” was stupid . If a disease has such a short gestation period, and such obvious symptoms, and you know the section of town it’s in, you cordon off that section of town, yeah. Then evacuate everyone immediately and keep them in quarantine for a week or two, because it’s so easy to tell who is sick and who is not. Meanwhile, send in investigation and cleanup teams to figure out the origin point, and gather whatever information about the disease they can free of interference from the evacuated locals. Sadly, “Revolution” was an attempt to do science fiction author S.M. Stirling’s “Dies the Fire” series as a TV show, but without paying Stirling anything. It didn’t hold together because they did everything they could to avoid messing with Stirling’s intellectual property rights, which means they came up with an inexcusably silly apocalypse. The Walking Dead was so good for so long, but it eventually just became a repetitive money-grab.
Station 11 was the only truly great show on this list. Sweet-tooth was kind of charming and well done. Most of the rest are the same formulaic crap churned out by the industry, with carboard cutout characters, wooden dialogue, and implausible plotlines. (T be fair, I have not watched “See”, don’t have Apple+, but I have seen the rest.)
While it deserves to make the list, the Walking Dead became almost unwatchable near the end. Everyone I know stopped perusal it the last few years. Was great in the first several seasons though. The 100 also got overly weird and I never finished it. I’d put The Strain on this list, up there with Jericho and The Last Ship. Colony definitely deserved an ending.

Oh, there have been several nuclear explosions, hurry to the bar… It’s fun in a comic film like Shaun of the dead, but that makes a bad serie with a serious tone. 2. Not seen 1. Yes, good… If you forget all the lengthy wordy repetitive parts, and there are plenty of them. At least, Z Nation is fun and not pretentious. Not mentioned: Defiance was not so bad. Battlestar Galactica may be put in that category. Jeremiah: only seen a few episodes, but I find that the tone (not the pitch) is similar to Falling Skies And there is no mention of 70s or 80s series: Cosmos 1999 (not exactly the category, but still a surviving group of humans), Buck Rogers in the 25th century, Logan’s run… I agree, they are not so good.
These clips and the voiceover are really odd, everything is just a little bit off. The descriptions and summaries of the shows are accurate on the surface but they arent how someone who really enjoyed and watched these shows would describe then. They lack depth. It’s like this whole thing was made by an AI….
IMO, any ‘zmbie apocalypse’ series that features hundreds of survivors months from the initial outbreak virtually demands that the dead are little more than shufflers. I challenge anyone to sit through both seasons of Black Summer and tell me how anyone would survive that species of infected – fast and relentless. Even bunkers don’t keep people safe indefinitely, so I guess that leaves Antarctica – good luck with the resupply:)
Walking dead, the most overrated show in tv-history, could have been good, but the main characters where so increadibly stupid in order to create tense situations. Every episode they made the same mistake over and over and over again. Dont make loud noices, then spend half the series making loud noises. This series was not good, this was a caricatyr of a zombie serie, one cliche of stupid behavior after another.
So you binge an entire season in a day, but seasons no longer have the predetermined September, October, February starting points so a second season is an indeterminate amount of time from the one single day you took in all that information & all that compacted plot & all those twists & now you have to wait until when for the next season‽¿
The Walking Dead was a long series but I saw major faults with the tepid and repetitive plot line. It was always, “find a safe place to settle and eventually, someone would come and try to take it away…” That happened with Hershel’s Farm, the prison, the town the Gov ran and every place after that. It’s like the remaining humans could not put aside their differences and works towards the common good and safety of all. They couldn’t even come up with a plan to deal with Walkers if they ever showed up at the farm. One person willing to get into a car, banging on the horn, cd player on, lights on and driving at 5 mph could have caused the herd to follow them and saved EVERYONE on the farm. Instead, it was always everyone running around like chickens with their heads cut off acting like, “nobody saw this coming!” And with all the empty military bases around the country, anyone could have gone into one and recovered a few Bradleys or M1’s to protect themselves at the prison. I personally would have found a luxury community with a wall around it to settle in rather than a prison. Kinda like and Alexandria. And of course, someone came along and tried to take that away too. A few Marine APC’s would have taken care of that problem, but no one had the foresight to anticipate that. Same thing happened in Fear the Walking Dead too.
Colony was great, real shame it was cancelled. Jericho, likewise. I could never take “the last ship” nor “the 100” seriously. Falling skies mostly worked. I read the book before perusal Station 11 – one of the worst adaptations, veered FAR from the book. Some of the acting was good, otherwise, it’s crap. See didn’t work for me. In worlds of far-fetchedness, this one pushed too far. I kept perusal the walking dead, always hoping it would get better, pretty much always disappointed.
TWD just turned into woke trash. FTWD started getting too weird really. Jericho had potential but had to go from basic small community survival to International politics and nukes in one season to try and wrap it up. Same with Jeremiah (not on the list) one season from collecting scrap to jets and electric infrastructure as they knew it was the last season. In fact The last ship and Revolution were about the same really. Falling Skies was pretty good if also a little rushed at the end. Couldn’t get into Colony and the 100 turned into a teenage lord of the flies with woke tribal punk undertones of some kind until I stopped perusal it. Honestly the number one killer for all these shows starting with TWD season 3 has been forced Hollywood wokeness narrative IMO.
I know all the series here and I’m a fan of each one. Falling skies was my favorite series, I would have loved to have seen more, very sad. THE WALKING DEAD is better for me and my absolute favorite from the beginning I think it’s a shame that it doesn’t exist but at some point there has to be an end I think the series will be very monotonous otherwise
Falling Skies started off really well but lost its way which was a shame, tried to watch See but didn’t like it The Walking Dead’s first 6 seasons were excellent but when it went to 24 episodes it went down hill rapidly, the last season has picked up somewhat, nothing to do with apocalyptic but really can’t wait for the reboot of Babylon 5
