2) Establish a connection between the device and the band by touching them together.
3) Follow the instructions provided by the application to link to an account and pair with the device.
How do I unlink my MagicBand from my ticket?
To deactivate a Disney Band or MagicBand, log into your online My Disney Experience account and select My Disney Bands and Cards. Manage MagicBands or Cards and find your name to view all linked MagicBands. Deactivate the one you want to use and follow the prompts. Remember to reactivate it if you plan to use it in the future. Visit Walt Disney World Resort during the Disney100 Celebration, where characters dressed in their anniversary attire and a stunning light show on Spaceship Earth in EPCOT are available. Are MagicBands automatically linked?
To link park tickets to your MagicBand, you can use the My Disney Experience app. If you have purchased a full Walt Disney World package, your park tickets should already be loaded into the app and associated with your MagicBand. If not, you can add them manually. Once linked, your MagicBand will be automatically linked to all your active MagicBands. To link tickets, tap the hamburger icon at the bottom of the app screen and select “Link to Account”.
This process works for tickets purchased through Disney and third-party vendors. The MagicBands are highly adjustable, allowing them to accommodate everyone from preschoolers to linebackers. Proper sizing is key to comfort, so keep adjusting until you get the fit just right.
Is my MagicBand already linked to my account?
Ordering pre-arrival MagicBands as part of a Disney World resort stay offers three advantages: a small discount, easy identification of the band’s owner, and the ability to manage them in My Disney Experience. However, MagicBand+ bands require pairing with a phone for management.
To link a MagicBand or MagicBand+, use the My Disney Experience app. For a MagicBand+, power on the band, tap it to the back of your smartphone, and follow the prompts. If not possible, tap the hamburger icon at the bottom of the app screen and select “Link to Account”.
Scan the QR code or barcode on the back of the band using your phone’s camera, hold the MagicBand against your phone, and type in the serial number from the back of the band. This process is the fastest and easiest way to manage MagicBands in My Disney Experience.
Can I use a MagicBand from 5 years ago?
You can use a MagicBand from a previous Walt Disney World vacation for your next one as long as it is active in your My Disney Experience account. The MagicBand’s battery can last up to two years, so you can use it for multiple vacations. However, your MagicBand’s 5-6 year old battery may not be functional and is sealed, making it impossible to change or check at home. It’s recommended to bring your MagicBand on your Walt Disney World vacation and check if it works for park entry. If the battery is depleted, you can purchase a new MagicBand at various Walt Disney World stores. If you want to purchase MagicBands before your vacation, shopDisney offers a great selection.
Can I link an old MagicBand to my account?
Once your MagicBand or MagicBand+ is linked to your My Disney Experience account, it remains active until you deactivate it. If your MagicBand is over two years old, the battery may be depleted. If you have an original MagicBand that is not rechargeable, check if it is still functioning by visiting the Front Desk of your Disney Resort hotel or using it at the entrance of a theme park. Some MagicBands last longer than two years, so it’s worth checking.
Alternatively, you can use Disney MagicMobile Service on your phone at any touchpoints within the parks where you would normally use your MagicBand. MagicBands cannot be transferred to another person once linked to your account, but they can be deactivated. If your old MagicBand was purchased but never linked to your account, you can use the Linking Tool to link it to your My Disney Experience account.
How do I know if my old MagicBand still works?
If your older MagicBand device is still functional, it’s best to check if it’s working on your next Disney vacation. If it’s within the last 2-3 years, it’s likely still functional. Some older MagicBands even work when you clean them off for use at Disney Parks. To check if your MagicBand is activated, use the My Disney Experience App by selecting “MagicBands and More” and “Pair Your MagicBand+”. If staying at a resort hotel, test if it opens your room door before going to the first theme park. If your older MagicBand’s battery life is dwindling, you can purchase a new one before your vacation begins or at resort shops. For more vacation suggestions or questions, visit planDisney.
Can I reassign my MagicBand to someone else?
The MagicBand is a unique travel accessory that allows guests to create and share their own MagicBands. However, once assigned to a guest, it cannot be reassigned. Your MagicBands are permanently linked to you, allowing you to use them for years to come. Family members can purchase MagicBands or MagicBand+ at Walt Disney World Resort or shopDisney. If you’re staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you can order pre-arrival MagicBands at a discounted rate via your My Disney Experience account. Select “My MagicBands and Cards” from the My Disney Experience menu and follow the deadline for ordering.
