How do I put my MagicBand in pairing mode?
To pair a MagicBand+, select it in the top slider menu and tap through to the MagicBand+ you want to pair. Hold down the button on the back for three seconds and tap “Pair” when you see the pairing request on your phone. You can also scroll down to update the band’s settings and features, but your band must be charged and close enough to the phone. You can change color themes and toggle features like light, vibration, and connected park experiences.
To link MagicBands and Tickets on the website, you need the serial number on the back of the MagicBand+, the serial number on the back of the card, or the confirmation number from the email.
How do I know if my MagicBand is active?
The MagicBand+, initially appearing unfunctional, can be turned on by tapping it. To check battery status, use the My Disney Experience mobile app with a paired smartphone. Press the button on the backside of the MagicBand+ to see the band’s lighting colors, which can provide the current battery status. The band should not flash red after pressing the button. Can I use my MagicBand on a different account?
MagicBands are magical technology that make Walt Disney World Resort vacations a breeze. To move a MagicBand to another account, log in to your original account in the My Disney Experience Mobile App, tap on the three horizontal bars in the lower right corner, then scroll down and tap on My Profile. From there, tap MagicBands and Cards, and then Your MagicBands and Cards to see all active MagicBands currently linked to this account.
To find the MagicBand you want to move to another account, match the number printed on the back of the MagicBand to the number in this list, tap on that MagicBand’s number, and tap the Deactivate button.
To link a MagicBand or Card to another account, follow the same steps as in your original account, but enter the ID Code on the back of your MagicBand. If you encounter difficulties, speak to a Cast Member at Guest Relations at any theme park or Disney Springs or at the Front Desk of any Disney Resorts Collection hotel. They will scan your MagicBand and wave their magic wand, allowing you to proceed.
Are MagicBands automatically linked?
To link park tickets to your MagicBand, you can use the My Disney Experience app. If you have purchased a full Walt Disney World package, your park tickets should already be loaded into the app and associated with your MagicBand. If not, you can add them manually. Once linked, your MagicBand will be automatically linked to all your active MagicBands. To link tickets, tap the hamburger icon at the bottom of the app screen and select “Link to Account”.
This process works for tickets purchased through Disney and third-party vendors. The MagicBands are highly adjustable, allowing them to accommodate everyone from preschoolers to linebackers. Proper sizing is key to comfort, so keep adjusting until you get the fit just right.
How do I know if my MagicBand is paired?
To pair your MagicBand+ with your My Disney Experience app, ensure you have the latest version of the app and that your MagicBand+ software is up to date. Check this by tapping the icon in the bottom right corner, “Magicbands and More”, and tapping your name. If you see your MagicBand+, tap “Pair” or “Pair Your MagicBand+” on the previous screen. Ensure your Bluetooth connection is on and your MagicBand+ is charged. To reset, press and hold the button on the back of the band until it buzzes twice.
If turned off, the LED light turns red and rotates once in reverse. Press and hold the button for one second to power it back on. If you’ve tried these steps, try a factory reset by pressing the button once and holding down for 15 seconds. Your MagicBand+ will glow with rainbow colors, turn off, and flash green. Follow the steps to pair your MagicBand+ to your My Disney Experience app.
Can you unlink a MagicBand and link to someone else?
It is not feasible to disassociate a MagicBand from an account and associate it with another account, as the linking process is irreversible.
Can I use a MagicBand from 5 years ago?
You can use a MagicBand from a previous Walt Disney World vacation for your next one as long as it is active in your My Disney Experience account. The MagicBand’s battery can last up to two years, so you can use it for multiple vacations. However, your MagicBand’s 5-6 year old battery may not be functional and is sealed, making it impossible to change or check at home. It’s recommended to bring your MagicBand on your Walt Disney World vacation and check if it works for park entry. If the battery is depleted, you can purchase a new MagicBand at various Walt Disney World stores. If you want to purchase MagicBands before your vacation, shopDisney offers a great selection.

If you don’t see your MagicBand, you can link it by entering the code on the back of the band.
If you prefer to check the status of your MagicBand using a mobile device, download the My Disney Experience Mobile App and tap the three bars in the lower right corner. Then, scroll down and select “My Profile” and “MagicBands and Cards”. You can also view your linked MagicBands and cards on the My Disney Experience Mobile App.

Can you relink MagicBands?
Once your MagicBand or MagicBand+ is linked to your My Disney Experience account, it remains active until you deactivate it. If your MagicBand is over two years old, the battery may be depleted. If you have an original MagicBand that is not rechargeable, check if it is still functioning by visiting the Front Desk of your Disney Resort hotel or using it at the entrance of a theme park. Some MagicBands last longer than two years, so it’s worth checking.
Alternatively, you can use Disney MagicMobile Service on your phone at any touchpoints within the parks where you would normally use your MagicBand. MagicBands cannot be transferred to another person once linked to your account, but they can be deactivated. If your old MagicBand was purchased but never linked to your account, you can use the Linking Tool to link it to your My Disney Experience account.
Can a MagicBand be linked to more than one account?
