To use the Magic Keyboard for iPad, follow these steps:
- Connect your iPad to the Magic Keyboard.
- Open the Magic Keyboard with your iPad attached and place it on a flat surface.
- Turn on the Magic Keyboard by sliding the on/off switch on the back edge of the keyboard. If the keyboard isn’t recognized by your iMac, connect it to your iMac using the included USB-C to Lightning Cable.
- Press the power button on the back edge of the keyboard on the left side. The green light will turn on when you press it.
- Toggle on the switch next to Full Keyboard Access to control and customize several keyboard shortcuts to replicate various functions, movements, interactions, and gestures.
- Connect a Magic Keyboard with Touch ID to any iPad or iPad Pro. To connect, turn the keyboard on, then open Settings > Bluetooth > Magic Keyboard.
The Magic Keyboard has two different designs depending on which iPad you’re attaching it to. If you connect the Apple Magic Keyboard to an iPad Pro, follow these steps: unbox the keyboard with care, charge it to ensure sufficient power, turn on Bluetooth, pair the keyboard, and customize settings.
To wake your iPad, press any key on the Magic Keyboard. Another keypress will bring up the Lock Screen. Unlock your iPad with Face ID or Touch.
Powering up the Magic Keyboard for Mac is simple: slide the power switch in the top-right corner of the keyboard. The keyboard should pair automatically with your computer. Once paired, you can turn the keyboard on by pressing and holding the power button until the green light blinks.
