How Can I Alter My Spells In League?

In League of Legends, players can switch between Normal cast and Quick cast for abilities, summoner spells, items, or trinkets by clicking on the button under. The ultimate chosen takes over the Placeholder Ult-ernate Summoner Spell for the rest of the game, and players cannot change it. To change spells, players need to press the Q, W, E, and R keys on their keyboard. The ‘R’ key is the default keybinding for changing spells.

To swap one of your equipped summoner spells while being out-of-combat for 5 seconds, hold the Alt key and choose the spell you want to cast. However, you cannot select a summoner spell you cannot use. The Unsealed Spellbook allows players to switch their summoner spells to other ones, rewarding their ability to adapt and think ahead. Players can only change Summoner Spells during a game with the Unsealed Spellbook rune with Inspiration as the keystone.

Summoner spells can be changed before the game starts during the champion selection, next to the runes and wards. Players can also swap Summoner Spells while at the shop by exchanging Summoner Shards. Flash, Ignite, Smite, and Teleport, four unchanged summoner spells in League of Legends, will maintain their current form in the latest update.

Movement dynamics in League of Legends have evolved from Barrier buffs to Ghost nerfs, with new summoner spell changes and improved gameplay dynamics.

  • The nerf to nearly all supports is small, but there – Exhaust + Heal is the suite (though not every support takes both), and the nerf to Exhaust (30s longer base cooldown) is much larger than the micro-buff to Heal. I don’t mind the nerf to Exhaust, though… Exhaust, Flash, and Ghost are spells useful both offensively and defensively so they should be weaker than other more dedicated options. The buff to Heal, imo, should have just been bigger – perhaps match the level of buff given to Barrier. I take Flash + Heal on most champions (even when I solo-lane), and on champions that 100% don’t need Flash I often still take it just for more outplay potential. When I jungle I almost always take Smite + Flash (to help successfully gank) or Smite + Heal (to flip a lane without needing to succeed in the gank). I’ve opted for Ghost or Ignite on champions with multiple dashes (Bel’Veth, Renekton, Yone, etc) and sometimes I take Teleport on Shen or other champions (Galio, Pantheon, Sion, Kled, etc) that can get to other lanes very quickly. But in at least 90% of games I’m good old Heal + Flash, and I’m team “F is for Flash”. I am always disappointed in Barrier and Cleanse. They require very precise timing just to use properly, and getting that timing right doesn’t really make them perform better than other spells – so they are high risk to take, for no real benefit imo. Both of them need a much larger buff than they received.

  • I really don’t think barrier needed a buff. It’s not used super often (that I see anyways) but when I do see barrier it’s normally used by mid mages (or the occasional Xerath support) to deny kills early and it did that more than well enough without there being more shield, never mind there being more shield that lasts for a longer time. Just kind of feels like an unfair crutch since it’s not like people usually buy serpents fang (for ad champs) unless there’s an excessive amount of shielding on the enemy team and, unless I’ve forgotten an item, mages don’t have an anti-shield/shield punishing item anymore since shadowflame was changed. It’s not like with heal or healing effects/abilities where it can be reduced by grevious wounds so you’re just kind of fucked if you have to deal with it

  • Where’s the flash nerfs? They touch literally everything else except flash, flash is used in literally 99% of the cases, but instead they nerf Ghost, flash has been too OP for too long imo, it sucks getting a good engage only for the enemy to flash away everytime, honestly it should have like a 5-7 minute cd or something.
