Is Tarot based on archetypes?
Tarot reading, according to Swiss psychologist Carl Jung, is a process that uncovers the unconscious and follows clues of psychic alchemy. Jung discovered the internal Tarot of the human mind through his notion of archetypes, which are fundamental images that constitute the psychic constellation of the human being. In a pack of 78 Tarot cards, similar to the 64 hexagrams of the I Ching, an entire mutant mental universe is ciphered, which can be used to form predictions.
Jung stated that we can predict the future by understanding how the present moment evolved from the past. This connection between the conscious mind and the unconscious is evident in the Tarot cards, which are visible manifestations of this connection. In 1933, Jung spoke about Tarot, stating that these cards are predecessors of the sets used to gamble, symbolizing individualization and playing with psychological images. The different combinations correspond to a playful development of humankind’s history.
How to figure out which tarot card you are?
To find your birth card, add the digits of your full birthdate together to find your first card number. For example, if you were born on June 26, 1996, you would have 39 digits. Then, add the digits of your first birth card together to reveal your second card number. Compare your card numbers with a list of major arcana tarot cards to find your birth cards. Tarot birth cards are a combo of 2 or 3 major arcana tarot cards that reveal special insights and truths about your personality and life journey.
There are 12 sets of 2-3 card sets in total, similar to 12 different star signs in astrology. Each set highlights unchanging elements of your personality and how you journey through life. Tarot birth cards are calculated using numerology rather than a range of dates.
Is tarot related to psychology?
Tarot cards have been found to have psychological influences, but they can still have beneficial effects on a person’s mental health when used in a therapeutic context. A 2009 study found that regular users of Tarot cards used them as a tool for self-reflection, providing insight into their current life situations and providing comfort during difficult times. They also used Tarot cards as a tool for positive reinforcement, drawing cards intentionally and randomly to provide insights about their own lives.
Some co-researchers kept a card with them until their goals were resolved, claiming that Tarot does not reveal new information but can provide a new perspective on an issue that can influence a plan for a possible course of action.
This study highlights the potential of Tarot as an effective therapeutic tool, despite the foundational psychological effects behind its mainstream use. Further research on the beneficial impacts of Tarot in a therapeutic setting would involve examining a larger number of participants from a wider variety of backgrounds. Regardless of the reason behind a person’s use of Tarot cards, they have maintained a strong presence in society and have the potential to do more than just predict the future.
Is Arcana an intelligence check?
Arcana’s checks are based on the Intelligence ability score, allowing players to gain knowledge about magic-related lore and magic effects, including the Elemental Chaos, Feywild, and Shadowfell planes. If trained in this skill, it represents academic study or a hobby. Those trained in the skill may also know about the Far Realm, but not its creatures, which fall under Dungeoneering. To recall useful magic-related knowledge or recognize a magic-related clue, make an Arcana check.
What did Carl Jung disagree with?
Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud were two of the most influential figures in the field of psychology. They believed that behavior is influenced by a psychic energy or life force, with sexuality being just one potential manifestation. Jung also disagreed with Oedipal impulses and believed that one should not only be a pupil but also seek themselves. Their theories have significantly impacted our understanding of the human mind and have led to the development of successful psychological treatments for various human distresses.
However, their paths were not always so different. At the beginning of their careers, they formed a friendship based on intellectual prowess and a desire to further study the unconscious psyche. Jung saw Freud as an esteemed colleague and a father figure, while Freud saw Jung as an energetic and exciting new prospect in the psychoanalytical movement. Their contributions to the field have had a profound impact on our understanding of the human mind and the development of successful treatments for various human distresses.
How do you know your own arcana?
In order to create an arcana, one must first combine the digits of their birth month, day, and year. These digits must then be added together. In the event that the resulting number falls between 1 and 22, the corresponding arcana has been identified. Otherwise, the process of digit addition should continue until a number between 1 and 22 is reached.
How do I pull my tarot cards?

What did Carl Jung say about Tarot?
In his concept of “Individuation,” Jung suggests that the Tarot can be utilized as a tool for personal growth and self-development. This is achieved by enabling intuitive knowing in the conscious mind through the accessing of subconscious information.
How many archetypes actually exist?
In his theory of the human psyche, Jung employed the concept of the archetype, which he defined as an original pattern, to identify twelve universal, mythic characters that he believed to reside within our collective unconscious.
Are the archetypes real?
Jung believed that the archetype, a form of the unconscious, was similar to the axial system of a crystal, which determines its structure without a physical existence. The archetype is empty and formal, and its expression depends on the circumstances in which it is activated. The representations of the archetype are not inherited, but rather correspond to instincts. A study published in Psychological Perspective in 2017 examined the ways in which Jungian representations are expressed in human experiences.
Archetypes are universal organizing themes or patterns that appear regardless of space, time, or person. They are organized as themes in the unus mundus, which Jung described as “the potential world outside of time”, and are detectable through synchronicities.
Jung’s intuition that there was more to the psyche than individual experience may have originated in his childhood, with dreams that seemed to come from a source outside himself. Later, his research in Burghölzli Hospital and self-analysis supported his belief in the existence of universal psychic structures that underlie all human experience and behavior. He initially referred to these dreams as “primordial images” and later as “dominants of the collective unconscious” in 1917.
How do you check your arcana?
To determine your birth arcana, use the formula (month of birth) + (day of birth) + (first two digits of birth year) + (last two digits of birth year). If you end up with a three-digit number, add the first two digits to the third.

What do you think about the ” destiny code” or the system to read it. I just learned about it & I’m intrigued, you seem knowledgeable will love to hear your opinion more than one claims to be the creators & many books created. So what’s your point of view & if it’s a good topic to learn which book you will recommend
I just saw a few of your articles already and I think I am going to binge watch them! 😊 I love the subjects that you choose and the knowledge and cultural stuff that you put in these articles. You have an unique style, more sophisticated than other witchy websites I would say. Anyway everyone has their own style lol. I find your dream so interesting. It also make me think about the akashic records in a way. I know Jung for a long time but never really investigated the subject . But I always loved that he had a spiritual point of view of psychanalysis unlike Freud the” fraud ” to me ( I hate that as…le 😂). I also use oracle cards that are called the archetypes cards in my readings I recommend them. I will try what you said in the articles I m not sure what archetypes attracts me for example I have to dig into that but with my therapist we were talking about the goddesses archetypes I was attracted to that was making a lot of sense 😊 ❤. Yesterday I was also reading the link between numerology and tarot and my card is the 8th so justice in tarot de Marseille or strength in Rider Waite Smith but I still don’t really feel how it is applying to me…I find that approach also interesting though. As a french person I was raised with the Marseille version I mean not raised well you know that was my first encounter with it but I connect much better with the Rider Waite Smith…and I always feel confused with this 8th card lol…
So my binge perusal of your website is finished with this one 😂 I love this as this is where I started taking my personal practice with tarot the last month. If you haven’t read it already, I highly recommend the book tarot as a way of life by Karen Hamaker-Zondag. It’s a Jungian approach to the tarot and really interesting!
It is a leap to claim that tarot card pictures are archetypes. They are just pictures used as an aid in divination. If a tarot picture was an archetype, it would occur to us in dreams, it would be present in folk tales, it would be a common theme in songs, it would show up in other kinds of art, etc. None of the pictures on tarot cards qualify as being archetypes. Dream images are archetypes or metaphors, but not tarot cards. For example, if you dream that you are driving a car, this means how you are navigating your life. If you dream that you are in the passenger seat and someone else is driving, this means that you are not behind the driver’s seat of your own life.
