To check the Magic Keyboard battery on an iPad, follow these steps:
- Open the Settings app on your iPad.
- Tap on “Bluetooth” and navigate to the Bluetooth settings.
- Find your Magic Keyboard in the list of connected devices.
- Check the battery level displayed next to your Magic Keyboard.
The Magic Keyboard does not have a dedicated battery but is powered by the Smart Connector on the back of the iPad. If you experience excessive battery drain on your iPad Pro due to the Magic Keyboard, it may be due to the issue.
To find the battery percentage on the new Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro (2018 and 2020), follow these steps:
Wake your iPad by pressing any key on the Magic Keyboard.
Unlock your iPad with Face ID or Touch ID, or check the battery status by clicking the Control Centre Icon in the menu bar, then Bluetooth, or click the Bluetooth menu in the Bluetooth menu.
Connect a USB-C power cable to the power port on the Magic Keyboard.
Tap the green/white + button next to Batteries to see the battery percentage in the Today List.
Go to Settings > Battery, turn on Battery Percentage, and add a Batteries widget to your Home Screen.
Check the percentage level next to the Magic Keyboard in the “My Devices” column. This is the percentage of battery life left.
From the Apple menu, select System Preferences, click Keyboard, and check the Keyboard Battery Level in the lower-right corner.
