Twins are a unique phenomenon in astrology, as they share the same birth chart with the exception of their rising signs (ascendants). This results in a unique horoscope with several themes, archetypal figures, and inner contradictions. Astrologers and developmental psychologists believe that twins divide the birth chart early in their lives due to their contrasting personalities.
Twins are not likely to have absolutely identical birth charts, as the chart of each depends on the amount of time that passes between the first and second birth. Twins, even those who are very similar and remain close throughout life, are separate people who will live out their birth charts in individual ways. The purpose of this study is to determine if an astrological hypothesis may correspond to a factor which differentiates both personalities in a twin pair.
Twins divide the chart between them early in life, as they cannot both enact the same roles (which are part of both their personalities) but tend to choose different roles. Some astrological placements move quickly, such as rising signs, which move one degree approximately every four minutes and move into a completely new sign about every two hours. By examining the astrological charts of famous twins, analyzing astrology’s interpretations, and comparing them with real-life experiences, we can gain a deeper understanding of the dynamics between these pairs.
In conclusion, twin astrology theories explore how astrological factors can influence twin births and shape the personalities of twins. By examining the role of zodiac signs and birth charts, astrologers aim to shed light on the unique horoscopes and personalities of twins.

How lucky is it to have twins?
As of 2003, there are an average of 16 sets of twins born per 1, 000 births in the United States, with 1 in 250 natural pregnancies resulting in twins. Twin pregnancies can occur by chance, but certain factors can increase the chances of having two babies simultaneously. There are two types of twins: identical twins, which result from a single egg fertilized by a single sperm, and multiple embryos.
How to see twins in astrology?
Twin births can be predicted through the analysis of astrological indicators, such as nakshatras (lunar mansions) and the influence of planets like Jupiter or the fifth lord. Astrologers can provide insights into the likelihood of twin births by considering factors like Mercury’s influence, retrograde planets, dual signs, and specific nakshatras. Astro Anuradha, a renowned Vedic astrologer in India, offers deep insights into twin astrology, helping individuals understand their birth chart and potential twin births. What do astrologers say about twins?
Twins’ solar arc progressions can fluctuate with birth time variance, increasing over their lifetimes. The solar arc chart is created by turning the natal chart by one degree for each year, predicting upcoming life events. Twins can have similar events but years apart if they are born a significant amount of time apart. Personal differences can cause destinies to diverge, as twins lead different lives despite sharing similar birth times. Tali Edut explains that while cosmic wiring is identical for twins, humans with free will co-create with the universe.
The astrology chart is not a fate, but a tool for predicting life events. Divya Bhardwaj, a journalism student at Northwestern University’s Medill School, specializes in lifestyle and arts coverage and has published her work in Shondaland and The Daily Northwestern.
How can you predict if you are having twins?
Twin pregnancies occur when two fetuses are present in the uterus simultaneously. Early fetal movement, fetal movement in multiple areas, greater fundal height than gestational age, rapid weight gain, and high levels of hCG or alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) are signs of a twin pregnancy. The chances of having twins are low, occurring in 1 out of every 250 pregnancies. What is the symbol of the twins in astrology?
Gemini, the third astrological sign in the zodiac, is represented by the twins, Castor and Pollux, known as the Dioscuri in Greek mythology. They were known as the Great Twins in Babylonian astronomy, with names Lugal-irra and Meslamta-ea, meaning “The Mighty King” and “The One who has arisen from the Underworld”. In Greek mythology, Gemini is associated with the myth of Castor and Pollux, conceived by different fathers.
Zeus, who seduced Leda, conceived Pollux, while Tyndareus, the king of Sparta and Leda’s husband, conceived Castor. When Castor died, Pollux begged his father Zeus to give him immortality, which was done by uniting them in the heavens. Gemini is a positive, mutable sign.
How to predict twin pregnancy in astrology?
Gemini, the sign most often associated with twins, is often associated with a higher likelihood of having twins. The moon’s placement in a dual sign, such as Gemini, Sagittarius, or Pisces, is also considered a sign of twins. Jupiter, often associated with expansion and abundance, may be linked to the potential for twins through harmonious aspects. Astrologers analyze progressions and transits in a person’s birth chart to identify potential life events, including childbirth.
Progressions involve the movement of planets in a person’s chart as they age, while transits are the current positions of planets relative to one’s natal chart. Some astrologers may look for aspects involving Jupiter or the moon during a time when twins are conceived.
However, the connection between astrology and twin birth is speculative and not supported by scientific evidence. The birth of twins is primarily influenced by genetic and biological factors. Consulting a professional astrologer is recommended for more insights based on a person’s specific birth chart.
What predicts twins?
Twin pregnancy is more likely in individuals over 35, with a family history of fraternal twins, having fertility treatments like in vitro fertilization (IVF), having a higher BMI, and having a personal history of carrying twins during a previous pregnancy. Factors such as age, family history, obesity, and previous twin pregnancy can increase the chances of twin conception. Fertility treatments can also increase the likelihood of twin pregnancy, such as taking drugs that release multiple eggs per cycle, having multiple embryos implanted through IVF, or if an implanted embryo splits in the early stages of pregnancy.
What is the spiritual significance of twins?
Twins are often associated with health-giving powers in mythology, folklore, and religion. Examples include the Ashvins of the Rig-Veda, the classical Dioscuri, and early Christian saints Cosmos and Damian. These twins are often empowered with the ability to revive the dead, increase fertility, influence weather, predict the future, and ensure victory in battle. In some traditional societies, these special attributes are thought to extend to all twins and their parents.
Ancient and primitive societies believed that the birth of twins was associated with divine influence, with the mother having been visited or affected by supernatural powers. The specific powers of divine twins appear to reflect the particular form of origin of twins through divine interference with the fertilization process. Twins share some of the powers of the divine parent, particularly those pertaining to fertility. Their dual paternity and inherent competition are related to their martial interests and ability to resolve ambiguous situations and predict outcomes.
What does mythology say about twins?
Twins are a common theme in mythology, often seen as both ominous and auspicious. They are often depicted as two halves of the same whole, sharing a deeper bond than ordinary siblings or as fierce rivals. Twins can represent a dualistic worldview, another aspect of the self, a doppelgänger, or a shadow. They are often depicted with special powers, applicable to both mortal and immortal sets of twins, and often related to power over the weather.
In Greek mythology, Castor and Pollux share a strong bond, with Pollux giving up half of his immortality when Castor dies. Their constellation, the Dioskouroi or Gemini, is only seen during one half of the year, as the twins split their time between the underworld and Mount Olympus. In an aboriginal tale, the same constellation represents the twin lizards who created plants and animals and saved women from evil spirits.
The Ibeji twins from African mythology are another example of this strong bond shared between twins. If one of the twins dies, the parents create a doll that portrays the body of the deceased child, so the soul of the deceased can remain intact for the living twin. Twins are often associated with healing and divination or insight into the future.
Divine twins in twin mythology are identical to either one or both places of a god, representing a polarity in the world. These divine twins can function alone in one body, either as a male or as male and female as they desire. Twins are often seen as rivals or adversaries in various cultures.
How to conceive twins in astrology?
The probability of twins being born can be calculated based on the position of the fifth house of the zodiac in Gemini and the aspect of Mercury. Alternatively, if the Sun and Jupiter are in Gemini and aspected by Mercury, the likelihood of twins being born can be determined.
Which planet is responsible for twins?
Mercury, Mars, and Guru are currently in Visharam. If the Ascendant and Moon are situated in the equator and the male planets are able to see them, a twin child will be born. If Mercury, Mars, Guru, and the Ascendant are all strong and located in the same house, twins will be born.
I’m a twin. Born 21 minutes before my “identical twin sister”. However my rising is Leo and her Rising is Virgo. Our features truly do relate to our ascendant. There are certain degree differences in our charts. And it truly shows the difference in our relationship with each other and our partners. Much love and many blessings.
Harmonic or divisional charts show the difference between charts as they can be examined up to 1/60th of each sign. Vedic Astrology calls them amsha, and when combined with nakshatra (which need to be calculated using Sidereal zodiac) the results are quite precise. I use Tropical for my readings then Sidereal for the additional nakshatra calculation. 🙏🏻
I am a twin born 12 minutes apart from my sibling which caused a shift in the Ascendant of 3 degrees (1 degree every 4 minutes). So even though we have almost identical charts, this difference was just enough to shift a yod pattern in our charts that included the Midheaven. My sibling has a yod from a Jupiter/MC sextile to Saturn (part of our stellium of Moon/Saturn/Neptune/Sun conjunct in Libra) in the 4th house… she became an architect. In my chart Pluto sextiles Neptune (in the 4th house stellium) and forms a yod to my Pisces MC… I became a mystic. I have also noted that when the stellium in our charts are hit with a powerful blow that sometimes she expresses it and other times I express it, as if we were balancing out the difficulty between us. Evolutionarily perhaps we are sharing an otherwise unbearable burden?
Thank you for this insightful article. I am a fraternal twin and my sister and I were born under the sign of Gemini, the twins, however, my question has to do with our rising sign. While we were born during Central Daylight Time, our Illinois birth time was recorded on the birth certificate as Central Standard Time by the hospital. So, my 1:12 a.m. CST is different from my 2:12 a.m. CDT with one being an Aries Rising and the other a Pisces Rising. I’m perplexed with this conundrum and I want to figure it out (probably because I have some Saturn in my sign that’s making me be exact and diligent). So, to reiterate, 1:12 a.m. CST., that’s Central Standard Time, was posted on the certificate of birth. However, due to CDT, Central Daylight Time, the actual time was 2:12 a.m. with the “spring ahead” time, since I’m a June baby. 💗 I think Illinois was, at that time, required to record all birthdays in CST.
I’m a time twin, same day, 5mn difference time, 100km distance. Absolutely same natal ! We met when 27 and we had the same young look, our Venus & Mercury expressed themselves differntly. I was a secretary stutying architevture, he was a painter working as a courrier (delivery man, sorry I’am french). I met him because in an astrology course, his brother had given his dates and I jumped when I heard mine. We are so diffent as I’am a girl he’s a boy, we have 3 sibling, 2 sisters/2 brothers, I’m the olde Me / him Girl / Boy Old of 2 sisters / Young of 2 brothers I have travelled / not him He has read / not me ETC… I made a “rule”. We were both given the same Apple at birth, He “painted it” nd I “chanted for it”… We did not look for each other, our dates do not match, our main event did not, and we are friends. I feel like I know him like a brother… weard, I have no brother ! <3
Thank you Steven. I have one reading to do soon for two twins who have been born only two minutes from each other. A very special situation because there is absolutely no difference between their birthcharts. Even their ascendant is placed on the same degree. The both want a reading. How would you manage such a situation ?Thanks
