How Do I Handle Oak’S Amulet?

Oak’s Amulet is a quest item acquired after defeating Oak in the Wetlands, which is only obtainable during one of the bandit faction quests in Act 2. The character must oppose Oak in Deal with the Bandits, the Bandit Lord Alira, or the Bandit Lord Kraityn. When combined with Alira’s Amulet and Kraityn’s Amulet, the player receives The Apex and his passive bonus.

The passive reward can be respected by reading Deal with the Bandits. If the player chooses to help one of the bandit factions, they must bring the amulets of the two opposing factions to the aided bandit lord. The Apex is required to unleash Vaal.

To obtain the Apex and passive bonus, players must kill all three bandit leaders and turn-in the Fragments to Eramir in the Forest. A Recipe can be used to get a Book of Reform that will change your Bandit Choice by vendoring 20 Orbs of Regret and an appopriate Amulet.

Oak’s Amulet is only obtainable during one of the bandit faction quests in Act 2, and if the player side with Oak (i.e., not killing Oak), it is not required to acquire it. Players can also take the two remaining quest amulets to Kraityn, who will give them The Apex and his passive bonus.

Version history shows that killing Oak to get the Apex can be done by giving it to Eramir for free. Killing or helping Oak in The Riverways to complete Deal can also result in selling 20 orbs of regret with different amulets to get a book that will change your choice. Selling them with a jade amulet can also yield the same results.

Should I sell the amulet?

The Sentient Amulet, a rare item found in Baldur’s Gate 3, is a challenging item to acquire due to its suspicious nature. Acquiring it requires fighting a Lava Elemental, navigating environmental hazards, and opening a high DC lock. The spirit’s madness can lead to different outcomes and upgrades for the amulet, but both have risks. The player can choose to accept the spirit’s madness or refuse it, resulting in different outcomes and upgrades.

The Sentient Amulet stands out from other necklaces in the game due to its ability to communicate with the player. While equipping such items with suspicion is recommended for safe play in the Forgotten Realms, it’s not necessarily worth it. The ultimate payoff for the amulet’s story doesn’t come until Act 3 of Baldur’s Gate 3, making it difficult to make an informed decision when the amulet is first acquired.

Can I throw away omamori?

Shrines and temples typically have boxes for disposing of old omamori, which are ceremonially burned after New Year. If unsure where to dispose of the omamori, consult the temple or shrine for advice. If the shrine isn’t easily accessible, most accept used omamori via mail. Home-based memorial services can also be done using Japanese white paper and salt, with the omamori placed on the paper and covered with salt. Expressing gratitude, wrapping the omamori in the paper, and disposing of it are also options.

It’s important to note that there’s no requirement to stick to a one-year rule, as many people use the same omamori for years. If the omamori becomes dirty or soiled, it’s considered evidence of bad luck it’s protected.

Can I keep an omamori forever?

Omamori, or “power” or “luck”, lasts about a year and can be returned to a Shinto shrine or Buddhist temple for a new one. Originally developed to protect oneself from evil spirits, different types have evolved to serve different purposes. For example, if you want to buy a new video-game console but don’t have enough money, you can use a shoubaihanjou (商売繁盛) or money talisman to help you get a raise and afford the console. • In the 90’s when I was in high school, gold was around $500/oz so LOTS of people had gold chains. I never saw 1 herringbone that held up long-term. They didn’t break, but like you said, they always ended up with dents/bumps/bends. Every chain gets banged up if you wear it daily, but with the herringbones it is obvious. As for hollow chains, they should not even exist.

  • I have a hollow rope chain10k gold 6mm and I wear it almost everyday maybe mostly on the weekends and parties, I even bought a Pendant for it and the Pendant is solid I would say kind of heavy for it, but is holding up real good, the chain is still intact since the first day I even get compliments for it, I think I have had it for almost a year now and it is still in good shape. For I think 600 bucks I can’t complain

  • My first chain was a herringbone chain back in the 80s in middle school. In high school I started working and bought a Turkish link and a diamond cut rope chain. In 95 I bought a 100gr rope and a few yrs later around 2001 I got a 250 gram handmade Cuban link chain. Then I got a bezentine then a franco. Out of all the chains I had my Cuban never went out of style. You can’t go wrong with a Cuban in my opinion. Now back in the mid 90s till about 2005 I was paying 8.00 a gram for 14k and 10.00 for 18k over 100 grams. Now it’s super high. I still have a Cuban but it’s only 150 grams.

  • I personally like the Saints Gold prism cut chains. I have their prism cut Franco and rope and they look great together. It’s definitely a special occasion setup though because they’re definitely very flashy which is why I prefer the smaller sizes like 3mm. I don’t wear them nearly as much as my regular dc Franco’s so hopefully they don’t fade.

  • Jacoje is just the best in my opinion I didn’t know much about gold a few back until I started buying gold chains from jacoje and now I’m an expert thanks to him !!! I went to downtown Los Angeles and the lady was charging me 2800 for a 4mm rope chain 20 and I told her I’ll Come back in 10 min let me go look around a bit more so she told look I’ll give it to u for 2200 dollars I can’t Denny it was tempting but I said no so she offer to give it to me for 1800 I was look I’ll come back I promise you just give me a few min so she told look 1500 is the lowest buy it right now is the best deal so at that point I just walk out mad becuase how did she go from 2800 to 1500 like Thas insane

  • All my chains are Halo never had any trouble with them have one is expensive as 2,500 when I bought it value was over $3,000 now. Do not listen to this do make your own decisions based off of quality as well as the size of the jury at the sizes big enough then it’s not going to damage that easy if you get something Hollow then I mean that’s a no-brainer.

  • Hey Braden! I bought a 4mm 14k Franko from you about 3 years ago and it is my everyday chain. I love the chain but unfortunately the weight of it seems to wear the jumper loops away. I’ve had to replace the rings twice and currently I am waiting to have them replaced again. I love the chain but those thin rings just don’t hold up unfortunately.

  • I bought a solid 2.5mm 26 inch rope with a solid 14kt gold angel wing 1 inch wear it every day since I got it about 2yrs ago zero issues it gets steam cleaned every 90 days or so still looks brand new I’ve been saving up for a super thicc boy chain will be placing my next order during Aug I have 5k saved up wanna go with a different link this time highy recommend jewelry from this fella he will never cheat u or never will point u to something just to make a sale

  • I’ve bought jewelry from Jacoje and saints gold and tbh both have the same quality neither of them are superior. I will say though Saints gold has better sales and promotions than Jacoje. Also customer service is on point with saints. For reference I bought a 7mm baby curb bracelet from Jacoje and the bracelet was short 2 grams and measure at 6.8 inches instead of 7in reached out to Braden and he said “there’s nothing he can do”. Showed a lot from the brand and went over to saints. Just recently I bought a Franco from saints and decided to wanana upsize the Franco weeks after receiving my original order. Chris from saints took my old chain back and sold me a bigger Franco. That speaks a lot.

  • I’m a retail jeweler and will NEVER sell hollow chains, they will come back to haunt me, ‘It broke again.’ Riddles, Zales, etc. on the other hand are money grabbers and the company execs aren’t at the counter to get screamed at, but rather Their poor Pawns. No wonder they have such a high customer and employee turnover.

  • People will disagree with me but the main reason I like Jacoje for all my jewelry is because you DONT offer a ton of options. Hollow, Semi-Hollow, Moissanite, 8kt, 10kt etc. all the BS that is ruining the authenticity in the jewelry industry. Jacoje is solid gold, nothing below 14kt, and all natural diamonds. To me, jewelry is just one of those things that shouldn’t be done if it cant be done right. Sure there is a 16 year old somewhere with $200 to his name that wants to “ball on a budget” and we were all at some point that kid – but let that type of customer go to these other stores. Your product attracts a certain type of customer and you probably deal with less stress because of that. 5 star jeweler in my book.

  • Hell yeah answered some of my questions especially the herringbone chain I know you did a article on it a couple years back but was wondering if you were ever gonna sell the thick ones like 2pac they do look very lavish but I don’t want no chain that’s gonna dent real easy after I just paid thousands of dollars another great quality article smash 💥 that like 👍

  • I’m just glad it’s people like this putting out this information for others to educate themselves on jewelry. A lot of people don’t know shit and think they know. I’ve had plenty of all types of jewelry and have been wearing jewelry since I was a kid. Like elementary school kid kid. My dad use to buy all of our jewelry from Albert’s in NW Indiana

  • Braden, Thanks for this informative and honest article. I’ve owned both herringbone and snake chains and they kink and/or ripple after a short time. There is no way to repair them, and you surely won’t wear them as they do not hang properly. Had I know these chains would kink, I would have never purchased them. Save up for a quality chain that you can wear for a lifetime. #JACOJE

  • 5:10 sadly you are 100% right I thought I could wear this for a life time only took 2-5 months till it got bumps and bends really sad this is what happens because I loved it still haven’t gotten it melted due to it being the first chain or jewelry I have ever bought/owned worked so hard for it but nothing in this life is for ever

  • I’m a jeweler, and I don’t oppose hollow chains because I want people to spend more money, I oppose them because they are poor quality. I have worked on countless hollow chains over the years, and they are absolutely awful. They break more easily than solid chains, they are much harder to repair properly, and most of the time, hollow chains won’t be brought back to 100% like new even when repaired properly. While solid chains are the opposite, they are much more durable, if they do break, they are generally easy to repair, and they can be made to look 100% new after the repair.

  • I had a lot of gold a lot of hollow and solid but I wash them in bleach and all of my hollow chains were ripping on me so I had to sell them for $3000 and I bought diamond teeth. I see what you mean though all of my hollow chains ripped when I took them out of the bleach even some of my solid rings were breaking, cleaning my jewelry and bleach was the best and worst decision ever

  • I like tri color and two tone chains if it’s solid and not plated, but those prism cut AKA Saint Franco chains not only look horrible ruining one of the best links, but also just makes it look cheap and ugly. Also those types of Figaros are what I call “Mall Kiosk” Figaro chains with the bumps and white gold plating in the middle also just look horrible and cheap. Two tone and tri color looks great if it’s done right AKA a quality chain.

  • ❤️Can’t wait for the giveaway, article coming up. I’m not sure I made, the best decision for a comment, but I spoke from my heart. It may not be something, that many people understand. I certainly don’t feel sorry, for myself. I’ve just seen what this particular illness, has done to my family; and I don’t want my future, to look like that. Although, there are many good characteristics, I have gained, from this happening to my brain; it still scares me, a great deal. I know one thing, that will never scare me… and that is Jacoje Fine Jewelry❤❤❤ Thank you! Braden, and Raquel, this world; 🌎would be would be a worn down, hollow, and plated, chain; without you!❤❤ #IMAGINE A WORLD WHERE, THE JACOJE LION; DIDN’T EXIST, WHAT A COLD, DARK, PLACE IT WOULD BE…🥹

  • So Jacoje, basically you claim that when you decide your future wife, do not choose the prittiest one, just because in time she will faint anyway? You are right in so many ways! BUT, if you want a “glitter” and sparkling on your bracess, obey a right technique of “polishing” like those far east guys when decorating the surfaces of their traditional technic chains. Mostly done 21 karat and up above, lot of hollow structure but certainly stays to the next life! And AVOID those Turkish 9K “solid golds” from ehbays, certainly you know people that you can’t get good quality with the price of “recycling”

  • This was the first thing I got at the start of a new game, I ran up the bike frame, the front of the shed then along the side of the shed, turn right at the field station get to the mower run along the edge of the mower pass the mower wheel and you’ll see the stump. It can be done with out Armour, but haven’t got a insect hammer so couldn’t get the milk Moller. Really good article 👍

  • Sounds good on paper, but is it worth giving up a dandelion for or giving up an additional inventory slot to swap back-and-forth between a dandelion and a pendant and the time it takes to do so every time you get in a fight I think I will get it and use it for balls fights, but other than that I’m just gonna keep all my dandelion every other insect in the game other than bosses can be taken down pretty easily with normal gear

  • They goofed making the trinkets and dandelions use the same equip slot. Doesn’t even make sense, the dandelion is like a parachute and the trinkets are necklaces. I just don’t even use em because i can’t be bothered to switch out my dandelion every time i go into a cave or lab, and then most likely forget to switch it back and die to fall dmg. lol Plus inventory is already limited enough.

  • I swear I must be blind because I’m looking all over for it but I can’t find it so like am I missing something or looking in the wrong part of the stump because I’m looking by the stump are closest to the ladder and I can’t find it so like am I just looking in the completely wrong part of the stump or what? Update nevermind I found it I was just looking in the completely wrong area 😂😂😂

  • I have a question how do I get strong enough to handle wolf spiders because I am still at tier 2 gear and weapons I just finished the pond lab and my stuff isn’t that high upgraded not even up to level 6 and they still crush me without even trying and I’ve already gotten every milk molar on bottom ground level.
