How Is Horary Astrology Conducted?

Horary astrology is an ancient branch of traditional astrology that uses time to answer specific questions. Instead of using a natal chart, a horary chart is cast based on the moment the question is asked. This method, often called the divine art of cosmic interpretation, has been a cornerstone in astrological readings for centuries. Horary astrology offers insights into the moment in time when a question is asked and provides specific answers to help make decisions.

The process involves using transits and representations of people or objects to answer questions. A chart is erected for the moment a question is posed or for the moment the astrologer understands the question. The horoscope of the situation uses the location of the astrologer, and the convenience of horary astrology is that the astrologer does not need to know the exact time.

In horary astrology, traditional rulers are used, and the strength and weakness of a planet are determined by the sign it occupies. The planet’s Prashna or Horary chart is erected based on a divine number given by the querent and the number in Traditional Vedic Astrology.

Horary astrology is a form of divination where the horoscope is interpreted as a guide for making decisions. It is a way of chart reading done when the birth chart is unavailable or the question cannot be answered from the birth chart. Horary astrology is the oldest science of predicting specific life events from the stars, known for high prediction accuracy and fast response.

Is there any logic in astrology?

Astrology is a belief system that suggests a connection between astronomical phenomena and human events or personality descriptions. However, it has been criticized by the scientific community for lacking explanatory power and scientific testing has found no evidence to support its premises or effects. The most famous test, led by Shawn Carlson, concluded that natal astrology performed no better than chance. Astrology has not demonstrated its effectiveness in controlled studies and has no scientific validity, making it regarded as pseudoscience.

There is no proposed mechanism by which stars and planets’ positions and motions could affect people and events on Earth in the way astrologers claim, which contradicts well-understood aspects of biology and physics. Modern scientific inquiry into astrology focuses on the correlation between astrological traditions and the influence of seasonal birth in humans.

How does astrology actually work?

Astrology is a method of predicting mundane events based on the assumption that celestial bodies, particularly planets and stars, determine or indicate changes in the sublunar world. The theoretical basis for this assumption is historically from Hellenistic philosophy, which distinguishes astrology from celestial omina (omens) first categorized and cataloged in ancient Mesopotamia. Astrologers initially presupposed a geocentric universe with planets and stars rotating in orbits with Earth’s center.

Later, Aristotelian physics principles were adopted, dividing the eternal, circular motions of the heavenly element from the limited, linear motions of the four sublunar elements: fire, air, water, and earth.

Special relations were believed to exist between celestial bodies and their motions, configurations, and processes of generation and decay. These relations were sometimes considered so complex that no human mind could completely grasp them, making astrologers easily excused for errors. Platonic astrologers believed in divine intervention in natural processes through celestial influences upon Earth.

The role of the divine in astrological theory varies considerably. In its most rigorous aspect, astrology postulates a totally mechanistic universe, denying the possibility of intervention and free will. This has been vigorously attacked by orthodox Christianity and Islam. However, some astrologers, such as Bardesanes, believe that the motions of the stars govern only the elemental world, leaving the soul free to choose between good and evil.

Man’s ultimate goal is to attain emancipation from an astrologically dominated material world. Some astrologers, like Harranians and Hindus, regard the planets themselves as potent deities whose decrees can be changed through supplication and liturgy.

How do you use horary astrology?

Horary charts are used to represent questions about a person’s life, such as a lost dog, by assigning the “quesited” to a house in the chart. The house cusp of the sixth house, which governs small animals, is in a sign like Libra, ruled by Venus. Venus’s state in the horoscope provides insights into the animal’s wellbeing and location. Astrological aspects between the planets representing the querent and those representing the quesited indicate future connections. The Regiomontanus house system is commonly used in contemporary horary astrology, following the work of William Lilly, an influential early modern horary astrologer.

How does horary work?

Horary astrology is an ancient branch of horoscopic astrology that involves constructing a horoscope to answer a question at the exact time it was received and understood by the astrologer. The answer to horary questions can be simple or complex, based on factors such as the questioners’ motives, others’ motives, and available options. This system of divination uses principles consistent with broader astrological methods but with unique techniques, unlike natal astrology which represents one person’s life.

Is it possible to have all 12 signs in your chart?

Is it possible to have all 12 signs in your chart?

A birth chart contains 360 degrees and contains 12 zodiac signs, 12 houses, two luminaries (the Sun and Moon), and eight planets. Each house is divided into 12 different houses, and the Rising sign (Ascendant) determines the direction of the following house. For example, an Aries Rising person’s first house is ruled by Aries, and their second house is ruled by Taurus. If a Taurus Rising person’s second house is ruled by Gemini, they approach matters like money and belongings like a Taurus. Conversely, a Gemini Rising person’s second house is ruled by Cancer, and they approach matters like a Cancer.

Planetary rulers also provide insight into each house, with the ruling planet being Venus. For example, if Libra falls on the 7th house cusp, they approach relationships and partnerships like a Libra, exhibiting a sweet, charming, and harmonious way. By examining Venus’s position in the birth chart, one can gain insight into how they exhibit these energies.

Is astrology haram in Islam?

The Hadith, a collection of Islamic religious teachings, is a significant part of the Islamic faith. It outlines the instructions and practices of Muhammad, who criticized the legality and illegality of astrology. According to Abu Dawud, seeking knowledge from the stars is considered witchcraft, which is inherently forbidden in Islam. The Hadith also emphasizes that rain is a blessing bestowed only by Allah, and any belief that rain is a result of other beings is considered disbelief.

The Hadith also mentions the stars, stating that those who suggest rain originates from a star are considered disbelievers in Allah. This concept of astrology and the belief in celestial beings’ influence on anything other than what is enshrined in the Quran and Hadith constitutes shirk (blasphemy) and leads one to leave the fold of the religion.

Second-century Islamic scholar Imam Ali, the fourth caliph of Islam and cousin and son-in-law of Muhammad, views astrology as fundamentally forbidden in the Islamic religion. He warns followers not to learn the science of stars except for guidance on land or sea, as it leads to divining and an astrologer is a diviner. This aligns with the Quran, which points to stars and astrology as only a means of navigation.

However, prominent scholars like Ibn Arabi and Ikhwan argue that planets are not considered God but do suggest each prophet with a specific planet/celestial being. Prophet Idris, also known as Enoch, was gifted with great knowledge of the stars and used his gift to meditate upon God’s grandeur and teach others. He believed that the stars and moon contributed to mankind and founded the study of the stars.

Different sects of Islam offer varying perspectives on the concept of astrology.

What is the basis of the horary astrology?

What is the basis of the horary astrology?

Horary books are ancient astrological applications that deal with specific questions and methods of answering them based on Tajik Yogas formed in the horoscope of the time the question was asked. The basis of a horary chart is the time when the question is asked, and from this, a map of the sky is erected. Personal details, such as date, place, and time of birth, are not needed, and horary provides a method of dealing with problems without these details.

Horary astrology has a strict system, with the position of and aspects to the moon being of prime importance. The person asking the question is represented by the ruler of the first house in the horoscope formed at the time of question. Planetary aspects are considered more important than in other branches of astrology, but the planetary rulers of the houses in question take precedence in analysis.

When someone without their birth details approaches the astrologer, they create a horary chart and answer their queries. Horary astrology is based on the idea that the question and intensity to find its answer arise in the mind due to divine command and favorable planetary locations in the cosmos.

How do you use horary points?

How do you use horary points?

Horary Points are essential for rejuvenating the organs of a specific season or time. As we approach Spring, we will focus on the Horary points of the Wood Element, represented by the Liver and Gallbladder. These points provide a clear understanding of the organ’s state and energetics, allowing us to observe the true state of the Element. Treatments are best given during the Horary Point’s time or season, as they are only a “regular” point. The Wood Element is most active from 11 pm-3 am, so treatments won’t be conducted during those hours.

However, a Horary treatment can be scheduled before or after the Spring Equinox, which falls on Sunday, March 20th. This way, we can celebrate Spring and the energy that Wood brings to us. To schedule a Horary treatment, click the link in the bio.

  • I loved the Yahtzee analogy and the subsequent comments about sitting with your question for awhile. I immediately saw a parallel with looking to the moon in a horary chart and it’s changeable nature, the nature of the moon and just “embodying our question” while the moon moves into a different sign, or what have you. Our relationship with our question may have a lunar cycle itself.

  • I love Yatzy! We play it almost every morning with my husband 😊 Oracles truly gently rap us on the knuckles if we try to get manipulated answers from them. I’ve learned that from the I Ching but I also remember very well when I was a young woman studying the Tarot by myself, my girlfriends wanted to know about their love life continually, and it was obvious that the cards started to snap at them when they came back wishing for a different result that they had just received. You can’t fool the oracle.

  • Ah the decisions.. As a Libra rising, Pisces Moon and Gemini sun, I thoroughly enjoyed this discussion! Ha ha! What has helped me the most personally in making clear decisions is the use of a pendulum, Which is I feel a similar guide. Because it is your inner guide – and I can’t explain it, it just works. But yes, what works best is if I ask something like “will it be greatly beneficial for me to blah blah blah?”. I never ask “should I?” . And when I’ve looked at peoples charts for them I never tell them what to do either, I just say “this looks like the lay of the land going forward so you might want to take all of that into consideration.” Etc. I know though that they secretly kind of want me to say yes or no but I just don’t feel right saying that. They know what’s right. Especially with the illumination of all of the factors it should become very clear. Anyway, thank you for this!

  • I am really amazed about your answers. I was recently exposed to this knowledge and I think it is great. But your inside about this topic makes me wanna go deeper in this science. I could notice your love and authenticity about what you are doing and it awakened my interest about the horary astrology. I need to go deeper and get myself some informations about the basic knowledge in Astrology. Good job. 🙂
