My history teacher played this, not for anything history related though. He asked us randomly if we knew Jeff Dunham and most of our class — 8th grade — didn’t know so he played a couple articles of Achmed and we had a blast. We forgot it was supposed to be a class and just enjoyed jokes and riddles. We miss him very much 😞 Sometimes, my old classmates would say SILENCE or I keel you to remember the times with him.
I remember when I was a wee lad and my older sisters showed me this article. Obviously, I was young and didn’t understand the darker aspects of the jokes, but Jeff put on such a good show that even then I still laughed and found most of the jokes to be hilarious. Being older now and less ignorant about the world, everything about this is just so much more humorous. Jeff deserves credit for being able to appeal to all kinds of people with his humor and jokes that age like fine wine.
Yikes, these recent comments are dreadful. Remember peeps, ‘offensive’ comedy targets EVERYONE and EVERYTHING. No one is spared. It’s either all okay or none of it is okay. It’s not equal if we have to hold our tongues about specific topics. People are laughing at the character, not YOU personally even if it feels like it. I’m from the UK and almost every comedy show here is about mocking ourselves and it’s brilliant. Being able to just laugh at yourself really helps make you feel better. Certainly helps me. But you also have the ability to ignore what’s being said. Honestly, you never realize that people around the world are saying and doing crazy shit all the time. We just don’t know about it until it’s brought to our attention.
I can’t believe anyone finds this offensive. There are MUCH raunchier comedies, like South Park, Family Guy, Futurama, but they’re still on the air because they’re iconic and people enjoy them (even the people who bitch about them now). Jeff Dunham is one of the most wholesome acts, his whole routine was purely just satire. So what he exaggerated stereotypes a little? He didn’t do it NEAR the amount of say South Park and their anti-Semitism, Family guy and their racism / pedophilia jokes, Rick and Morty making fun of special needs people and also being originally written by a literal pedophile. People “pick and choose” what they want to whine about. Some people literally are thin skinned a f and hypocritical as well.
I just love how Achmed makes himself more fierce and scary yet a small part him is still human. Its kinda sad that we gotten to the point of where we play in the hands of death because as children we know our world and our culture yet it crumbles down when we face reality that we’re not doing ok inside and we need to find the answer just it’s more slower than others. This is how I feel about it.
I was front row in Tel Aviv and Achmed was the most requested character, this is what made Jeff known in the Middle East, he told us how shocked he was when he found out that Israel of all places enjoy achmed, and we do, inside all the loss and horror we also enjoy humor and for most of the countries in the middle east even the ultra Muslim ones, he was still the favorite character. War is evil, comedy is not.
Israelis, including the Arab, Muslim, and Christian one, just out to have a good time and be entertained. Most of the comments section: Israel bad! Oppressor! Racist! Quick history lesson: In and around the time of the First World War, Lawrence of Arabia convinced his friend, Prince Faisal, to support the British war effort. Faisal united many Arab and Muslim tribes, and Lawrence promised him the Arabs would have their own land. Unfortunately the British didn’t care, and instead signed the Sykes-Picot Agreement, which, as with practically every other colony the British mandated, divided up the land along non-tribal, arbitrary lines — literally screwing the Arabs and the Jews both in this case. In the 1920s, Jews who fled persecution primarily in Europe came to British Mandatory Palestine AY (Arets Yisreal), and purchased land from Arab and absentee land owners, and proceeded to settle and develop these empty, swampy lands. The local Arabs did not like this, and skirmishes between the Arabs and the Palestinians (what the British used to call the Jews living in Palestine, I guess they really, really didn’t like Jews, because the Romans renamed Judea as Palestina originally to erase all trace of Jewish character) began. Through these hostilities, the British supplied neither side with great support, so they both decided they didn’t like the British being around, and started trying to push the British out. Both sides resorted to terrorism. For many years, the British government issued the White Papers, which limited Jewish immigration to BM Palestine, including during World War II.
For anyone who thinks this not offensive, I’m sure they will be fine with a comedy show ridiculing a Zionist soldier or settler in front of an all Muslim audience. Terrorists on both sides DO NOT represent the rest of us. Promoting stereotypes is an expression of ignorance. BTW- I don’t follow any religion.

Jeff Dunham is the most popular comedian in the Middle East and his most iconic puppet is an undead terrorist that constantly pokes fun at Islamic culture. Yet here in the US, if you say a single offensive joke online, you get cancelled. We are more easily triggered than a group of nations that have been at each other’s throats since the ancient times.

Ali Mahmoud says: “I, a Lebanese Shi’i Muslim from the southern suburbs of Beirut which is a part that was turned into ashes by the Israeli air forces ( it’s a civilian residential town btw) do not hate Jews and would welcome them to live in Lebanon. ” (Nudging Bridgett Gabriel) Interesting, considering that Lebanese is historically Phoenician and Christian tell me how did southern Lebanon become muslim ? I also find it telling that you self identify as subscribing to the shi’i sect of islam, the exact same sect with constitutes the majority of islam in both iran as well as the organisational culture of the islamic terrorist group hezbollah, which operates in the southern part of Lebanon.
Look I know it’s 6 years ago, but I’d like to say this. First off to start out on a good foot. I REALLY enjoyed Jeff Dunham for a number of years. I found about him through the Blue Collar Comedy tour. Not that I don’t now I just have fallen off just by circumstance. I literally two days ago just start perusal him again and found this. Also if you guys don’t know the story of his divorce (he talks about it some in and out of his shows) his wife was crazy! That being said, I’m not gonna be upset that people have made this political. I was a very devoted Southern Baptist and part of our doctrine was to be “Pro Israel” so I only ever saw it from that side. Even though I was also an American, and couldn’t abide by Palestinians being relocated against their will. I just assumed god was the one who wanted that to happen. I no longer have the same doctrine, and my thoughts on what a god is/could be have changed, and with that the authority base I was told not to question. I’m not even going to pretend I have an answer, but I’m never not gonna mention that people had their homes taken to fulfill some kind of divine providence script. If the US wanted to support Israel they would’ve moved them here. But we don’t really “care” about Israel we only cared because they were a means to an end. I mean, I’m not saying that because I disagree with Israelites they should come to any harm. I just know why they’re attacked, and it’s not anti-semitism, it’s fascism in a very literally way. Not to mention the fact that policies in the country are meant to restrict rights non-Jewish people.
When I went to Israel, I walked on water. Along with other kids over the village by the lower right, south. To the pivot. At certain times of the day,you can walk briskly. On top of the water. As long as you are only So high. And weigh, so much. Then you can. But no further. People sink farther than that.
