To properly store healing crystals, it is essential to clean them after receiving them to prevent negative energies from collecting. Keep your crystals and stones wrapped in natural fabric or tissue paper to protect them from negative vibrations. Label your crystal collection by its arrangement types, such as crystal family, crystal chakras, tumbled stones, polished stones, etc.
Chakra stones are believed to have healing properties and are associated with the body’s energy centers or chakras. The seven chakra crystals include Hematite for the root chakra, Tiger’s eye for the sacral chakra, Citrine for the solar plexus chakra, Rose quartz for the heart chakra, and Aquamarine for the throat.
There are several systematic categories for how to store crystals and stones: by color, by chakra, by shape, by form – natural, pointed, or tumbled; and final thoughts. To display your crystals, display them on an altar, keep them in fabric pouches, place them in a box, or organize them with drawer dividers. Different ways to organize your crystals include organza bags, velvet pouches, cardboard jewelry boxes, and drawer dividers.
For raw crystals, display them in a glass display case with three shelves, fabric-lined wooden boxes, or chests. Keep crystals out of direct sunlight as many will fade. Separate bags or containers can also be used to prevent energetically “muddled” crystals. For delicate stones, wrap and store them individually in natural fabric, which brings comfort to their energy and protects them from negative vibrations.
Incorporating crystals into your meditation, yoga practice, or daily routine can help you create more balance and support at certain chakra points.

What is the best way to store gemstones?
Separating gemstone jewellery into categories ensures they don’t rub against each other or cause damage. Store high jewellery in soft-to-touch pouches and David Morris fabric-lined boxes to prevent dust and environmental changes. Protect your jewellery from sunlight and heat, as harsh rays can harm the gemstones and affect color and durability. Store away from direct sunlight and cover with a lid or cover.
Care for gemstones daily, especially if they’re regularly worn, by taking extra precautions in exercising, cleaning, traveling, and hygiene. Here are some simple tips for daily care when wearing gemstone jewellery:
- Clean your jewellery thoroughly before storing it.
- Use soft-to-touch pouches and David Morris fabric-lined boxes to protect your jewellery from dust and environmental changes.
How to store crystals when not in use?
To store fragile crystals and stones, use fabric pouches made of natural fibers like cotton or linen. These pouches provide a soft sanctuary for the stones, allowing them to recharge and rest. Synthetic fabrics are not recommended as they carry energies that are unfriendly to natural beauties. Lastly, dedicate a special box to the stones, as it demonstrates their sacredness and can resonate different energies. Antique stores often have beautiful old boxes, but it’s important to cleanse them before placing the crystals inside.
How do you store rock crystals?
To store your crystal collection, consider using a sealed box or protective case, such as a wooden box, stone box, glass case, or acrylic box. Choose a larger box for your collection and place it on a shelf or desk, away from moisture and sunlight. Display cases are another option for showcasing your collection and protecting it from dust, moisture, and direct sunlight. Arrange your stones according to your chosen method and place the case in a visible corner in your living room, bedroom, study, or basement. This will help protect your crystals from dust, moisture, and direct sunlight.
Is it okay to store crystals in plastic?
Natural materials are good conductors of energy, so it’s recommended to store crystals in inorganic materials like plastic to keep them clear from outside energy. Use plastic bead boxes with divided compartments and cushion each section with a small piece of cloth for a soft place. Consider the Mohs’ Scale of Hardness when storing crystals, as soft stones may get scratched. Hard stones, like diamonds, are brittle and can easily fracture. Be cautious when storing brittle or easily cleaved crystals, such as Fluorite and Calcite.
When displaying crystals, keep them out of direct sunlight to prevent color fade, especially for transparent stones like Rainbow Fluorite, Celestite, Rose Quartz, Amethyst, and Smoky Quartz. Avoid storing crystals in extreme temperature changes to prevent cracking.
Which crystals cannot be put together?
Crystal pairings can create energetic imbalances due to conflicting vibrations and intentions. Some examples of such pairings include amethyst with pyrite and rose quartz with black tourmaline. Pyrite, the “fortune stone”, can drain and dull the metaphysical properties of amethyst over time. Rose quartz and black tourmaline can create energetic imbalances due to conflicting vibrations. It is important to be mindful when combining crystals and trust your intuition.
Building and curating a collection is both an art and a science, and certain stones complement each other beautifully. However, certain combinations cannot go together due to conflicting energies, canceling each other out or causing imbalances. Understanding which crystals cannot be worn together or placed in close proximity is crucial for making the most of their unique properties while avoiding potential negative interactions.
Is it bad to have crystals in your home?
Crystals have been used for centuries to promote positive emotions, prosperity, sleep improvement, and harmony. They work on a vibrational level and can heal, protect, and transmute energy. To clean a new crystal, dip it in salt water for Black Tourmaline, Rose Quartz, and Shungite. However, some crystals may be damaged by water, so exposure to the light of a full moon or palo santo smoke can be used. It is recommended to cleanse crystals once a month, as they absorb energy.
Citrine and a few other crystals do not require cleansing. After cleansing, infuse your intention into the crystal to activate it by slowing down breathing, focusing on your intention, and meditating. If activating for a specific function, be specific with the wording and repeat it out loud. Close the activation with a long exhale and gratitude for the crystal’s support. Remember that each time you cleanse your crystal, it needs to be reactivated.
Where do you keep chakra stones?
Chakra stones are essential for balancing the body’s energy and promoting emotional and physical well-being. Each stone has unique healing properties and meanings, and to dispel blockages and promote balance, use stones with a vibrational frequency that matches the desired chakra. The “Laying on of Stones” technique involves placing cleansed and charged healing stones on specific energy centers for a period of time. The crown chakra is located at the top of the head, while the forehead and throat chakras are located at the throat, heart, solar plexus, pelvic, and root chakras.
Where should I keep crystals in my house?
Displaying natural crystals in your home can enhance energy, cleanse the air, and create a welcoming atmosphere. For the hallway, black obsidian, rose quartz, and black tourmaline are the best choices for cleansing and energizing the space. For the bedroom, citrine, celestite, and amethyst are ideal for relaxation and healing. For the office, clear quartz, blue sapphire, and turquoise are suitable for focus and energy. Hallways connect every living space within the home, and the energies within them can affect emotional well-being throughout the day.
To display these crystals, use floating shelves or built-in bookcases on the walls, ensuring that the hallway is decked out with positive vibes, making it easier for the rest of the day to follow suit.
What crystals should not be stored together?
The article discusses common crystal combinations to avoid, including rose quartz and black tourmaline, citrine and amethyst, selenite and hematite, clear quartz and malachite, and moonstone and labradorite. It emphasizes the importance of understanding crystal energies, as each crystal has its own energy frequency and metaphysical property. It also discusses the negative effects of wrongly combined conflicting crystals.
To avoid conflicting crystals, it is crucial to understand their energies, which are distinct energy frequencies and metaphysical properties. Each crystal has its own energy frequency and metaphysical property, making it essential to avoid these combinations. The first step to avoid conflicting crystals is to avoid them all together, which can be achieved by understanding the specific energies of each crystal. This article came up while I was searching for something entirely unrelated and I felt a pull to watch it. I’ve been sleeping with crystals in my bed for a good few months thinking they were helping but then wracking my brain trying to figure out why I’m always so tired when I wake up. Thank you so much for this information! I’m sending you (and everyone reading this) major peace and love ✌
Thank you for the information. I agree with not placing Crystal’s or wearing them while you sleep. However, there are stones you can place under your pillow or the four corners of your bed while you sleep … Jamie Butler is a wonderful reference for teaching about Crystal’s, too. She gives details and many things others wouldn’t have known in this community… also, I understand selenite is a cleansing stone as well. Anyway, God bless. I wish you well on your journey 🙏 much love. 😊
I haven’t worked with crystals in a very long time. I was in 7th grade when I took a science class that got me started. I did extensive research at the time, then discovered that a lot of that reading was unnecessary. Once I could buy my own, I started choosing my crystals strictly by what I was drawn to, and THEN looking it up. Some of my best crystal choices were associated with problems I was mentally unaware I had, and they always turned out to be right on point. I lost my entire collection when someone stole the contents of my storage unit. I was not in a position to replace them at that time. Years passed. I found an entirely different power, the power of prayer as a two-way communication… Now I find a need to create a power spot in my home where I can pray and mediate. Ferns, candles, crystals, music, my scriptures, and materials to take notes…. It’s a fun and growing thing to mix the different aspects of me into a new direction. Thank you for reminding me that God has provided us with a multitude of learning tools!
So I’m new to crystals and I wanted to know what would be a good crystal to gift to a soldier that’s being deployed??? I’m not sure which one would be good for him to have at all times since I will just tell him to keep it in his pocket. I was thinking black tourmaline, amethyst, hematite, and garnet all in a small bag. My concerns is that he wont be able to cleanse them or that it’ll disrupt his sleep/overall well being.
Great vid, even as one that has been practicing with crystals, I still learned new things. On the note of keeping the crystals and other minerals hidden from the sun, good thing is to try to keep the similar purposed (similar intention or same intention) together, but the ones that differ or even contrasts each other in separate vessel of choice, this because the crystals can overcharge, lose charge/intention or be ‘polluted’ with the other energy.
Really helpful article, thank you. So selenite charges and cleanses crystals? When you talked about burning palo santo to clean the crystals, does putting them in a selenite bowl do that or should I still put them in palo santo smoke when they’ve been in contact with someone else? Does selenite have to be touching the crystals or just close to them? How often do I need to charge my crystals… 3 hours a day in a selenite bowl or only 30 minutes after using them? Will my selenite towers get ruined from sitting in the sun in my window?
Hii, i have a bedside table with like 7 crystals, would that be ” sleeping ” with them…I mean, its pretty close to my face and all lol. I just like that way it looks on my bedside. I’m wondering and may even even keep the amethyst and selenite collection there. Maybe my palm crystals with helping with anxiety, like blue calcite and labradorite….but lately I scattered all I have all around the apartment I go to most ( I don’t live alone) so my bed n bath, balcony has a couple of them by my bedroom door and a selenite piece on my window….I love collecting…oh I sleep with a piece of amethyst under or next to my pillow and my mala hanging from my bed frame. Also I like to have my tourmaline necklace on but sometimes take it off…
every time i sleep with a crystal under my pillow i always have the strangest most livid dreams. i also have had visions in my sleep, like i would see something in my dream and the next day it would happen. i wouldn’t remember it when i wake up but i would instantly remember it when it happens. i tried sleeping with different crystals such as clear quartz, rose quartz, malachite, tigers eye, opalite, black obsidian .ect. and they have all been different. i haven’t felt tired in the morning or the next day. but i also have a question. you said that crystals take in the energy so if you are sad or are crying and feeling emotions like rage when you are sleeping and it is under your pillow would the crystals absorb that energy? if so would should i do?
I once forgot my crystals under my pillow, yohhhh that day I had a long dream walking in high mountains of crystal all colors u name them🙆, my first crystal I found in my washing machine was amethyst, I later on I bought few clear quardz etc cuz I love em so much I manifested more I now have more than 50 some I don’t even know 🤗and I always keep em with me…. I bought chakra bracelet, rose quarts, tigers eye, green aventurine I’ve quite many I so love them❤️
Hey I have a question, you mentioned that there are certain people you won’t let around your crystals.. I was in a very toxic relationship at one point, it ended up abusive.. I know while I was living with him he probably touched my crystals even if I didn’t want him to. Sometimes I feel the energy shift, or as if they aren’t as strong as they used to be. Should I get rid of them or continue to cleanse & set my intentions with them ?
Can you just wear crystals because you like the colors and not have anything to do with meanings? I don’t believe in minerals powers per-say but I appreciate them because they come from the Earth that God created and for their beauty. My father was a jeweler decades ago and I became familiar with many of these as far as Jewels in my youth. So what are your thoughts? For instance I don’t think people wear diamonds because of any geological meanings or powers. I just want to change my jewelry based on what colors I want to wear that day. Is that ok?
I WANT YOU TO SEE THIS COMMENT and anyone who can answer me please do! Today I bought Amethyst and it’s so beautiful, I was so happy until my friend told me that she read somewhere that you should only buy gemstone according to you birth month or it may have opposite/negative reaction. Now, I only bought a rock which I can place in my living room, I didn’t buy any pendents or rings which I’d wear everyday. And I am July born, I read on internet that Amethyst is for February people. Do I need to regret that I bought it? Should I give it to someone else or is it okay for me to have it and it will only spread positivity and what it is meant for, nothing else.
i have a question,, i have a rose quartz and i knew it was real yet still wanted to see if it got through the burn test. so i got fire and put it a tiny bit over it and i could wipe the ash of very easily but when i looked at my rose quartz this part was kinda white. is that bad? will it lose its energy? will it still work the same? will there be any changes with my rose quartz? i regret it so much i didnt want the color to dissappear abit
i totally know where you’re coming from when you don’t let others touch your crystals 😭 like i want to show my friends and family and help them align their energies but they literally start rolling and rubbing it all over their body like omg especially when they’re anxious and trying to suck out the energy oh lorddd have mercy I don’t know how my face must look when I’m perusal in horror 😂
POV we may purchase crystals, but they don’t really belong to us, they belong to the earth & its beings therefore if I feel someone really needs a crystal I have more than I do I will; cleanse it, charge it with good intent, let them borrow or keep it however I tell them to re-cleanse & re-charge with their intent… but that’s just my pov 🙏
Okay, I do collect crystals but I don’t keep them to affect my spirituality or anything. I just like to collect them for fun. I have this ring made of black onyx that I only take off when showering. I always sleep with it on. I didn’t think much of it but ever since I started wearing it I’ve been getting much better sleep and I fall asleep much quicker.
I put my sodalite under water . I put them all under water. My amethyst, calcite, malachite, opalite & pyrite 😩😭. This was my first time buying chrystals and I messed them up already :/. My calcite dropped out my hand into the sink when I was using the palo santo smoke to clear it. I hope that wasn’t a sign of bad luck
I have amethyst, howlite, aventurine, ocean jasper, grey and moss agate .I bought my crystals as pendants for to wear them on my bracelet and necklace. When I wear one of them i don’t take them off for sleeping or during shower,it always on me. I take them off when i cleanse, charge and need to change them.Without any of them I feel anxious. is it good to wear them always?
Hello, I bought a bag of rose quartz, it has like 30 pcs. I didn’t cleanse it in water, I just put it all in a selenite bowl, is this one of the correct ways to cleanse it? Is it best to take it out of the selenite bowl after a while, or can I just leave it inside the selenite bowl on my bedroom table? Does it matter if I carry a few pieces with me, or is it best to only carry one instead of a whole bunch?
There’s many things to study or do with crystals but like most people you use tap water which is fine but if you can get hold of moon water and on or a full moon you’re supposed to charge them up with the moon water and it’s only done for the once a month when on a full moon most crystals and other stones can be combined with the moon water and when the full moon has passed just damp dry them and that’s it ok.😊
Hello Goddess I’m a new subscriber can u tell me what type of crystals to start off with as a beginner? I looked at me astrology sign which is ♋ and there were stones associated with my sign which are cat eye, tourmaline, pearl etc just to name a few are these the stones we’re suppose to use for protection and guidance? I would greatly appreciate any knowledge anybody has for me. Thanks again. Peace Love and Light
can anyone give me some kind of explanation or their thoughts on my experience?: i got a piece of raw amethyst and like a week later i put it under my pillow when i slept. best two nights of sleep ever. slept so good felt so refreshed in the mornings. but on the third night, i woke up in the morning and had a nightmare. i almost never remember my dreams and i remembered this nightmare so clearly it wasn’t too scary but still enough to make me feel uneasy. i looked for my amethyst and it was totally gone. no one in my house would have taken it and it wasn’t anywhere on my bed or behind my bed even looked under my mattress and it just seems to be totally gone. anything thoughts or help would be great 🙂
Hi I got into using amethyst many years ago I wear it as a pendant and I bought a bracelet cos My chain had broken and couldn’t find a long chain where I was living I find the amethyst calming I wear my to bed used to have one under my pillow didn’t bother me I’m more stressed out when I don’t wear it. I don’t know what this one ball shape one I got from a crystal shop it’s like a said a black ball with what looks like sparkles in it but if u shine a touch on it there is like blue shimmer don’t. Know what else to call it they said it was moon stone but every place I go say. It’s not moonstone they say moonstone is white so I don’t know I went over a few of them but the one I took I could feel like a vibe coming off it I had to buy it it calms me down as well when I roll it in my hands I keep it in my backpack in it’s own little pouch I have insomnia but a while ago I was at a Crystal shop here in the country I’m living in Malaysia I was looking for a Crystal for pain I have been recovering for six long years it’s called critical injury neuropathy where my body was attacking my nerves so I had lost all feeling in my head face and all the way down to my feet i couldn’t walk for a long time or eat for five months was living on a protein and nutrients shake that was my food I couldn’t eat or drink ended up in hospital with severe dehydration was extremely close to death so for the last six years I’ve been recovering slowly but anyway I asked the guy in the shop what was best for pain I think it’s labrorite I would have to send u a picture I had terrible lower back pain couldn’t stand in one place for long still had no feeling in my hands or feet I could probably walk on glass and won’t feel anything I have been wearing with my Amethyst since probably February this year what a complete turnaround it has been for me I wear it while I sleep or to bath I have just about no pain I can feel hot water I can feel my feet I can feel in places that were numb before I’ve also been doing diamond painting before I could hardly hold a pen it started as pneumonia my doctor then never put me in hospital and then just went completely south downhill fast I couldn’t stand for five minutes with this I still suffer migraines but I found if I put it on the sides of my temples and then the forehead it almost goes away mine get really bad at times.
As a person whos new to crystals,i have a question to the last ”do” what if your crystal is a bit big? i recently got my first crystal the size of a egg and a amethyst bracelet. i dont want to take it to school as it might get stolen (my school has a history of students stealing other students stuff)
I just bought my first ones today. I appreciate your advice. I also appreciate you having my number in my sight. One day I reached out and touched someone’s reiki crystal bracelet and was soooo regretful. LOL. I freaked out for them! I touched it before thinking while telling them i liked it. She wasn’t upset but I felt so wrong.
I don’t have sage or anything to cleanse my amethyst with and I’ve had them for a while now and I wanna try to take care of both amethyst. One of them I’ve had for 3 years and didn’t know it was a crystal and I was in 4th when I got it and I just got another one from a friend. I’ve gotten them both from two different friends and I don’t know how to cleanse them or take care of them and I’m trying to learn more about them but I don’t want to get wrong information about them.
I’m new to crystals, just purchased my first a month ago, it has been very beneficial. I slept with some of them next to my bed a few times, i’ve had some nice dreams, but lately I had very weird dreams and woke up anxious (after trying to place my new black tourmeline necklace near my bed). I am very sensitive so I thought i might have not cleansed that particulafully one well, after purchasing it. However, now it makes sense, thank you so much for the info.
