When it comes to layering your products, it’s always thinnest, thickest, but what about your body? I’ve seen a lot of people put body …
Have you tried testing the two methods? What I will say is that it totally depends on the thickness of the oil/ lotion. If you’re using something like castor oil, that will definitely be too thick. But something like jojoba, grape seed, almond oil, sea buckthorn, even baby oil should work perfectly ❤
I just found this article. I followed your suggestion and put my oil on before my lotion and it feels so soothing. I’ve been using oil solely for years and wondered if I would benefit from adding lotion. Not knowing how to layer them in the most advantageous way I came across your article. TBH I was on the fence about using both as I thought combining both would leave me greasy but I was very wrong. I have always used almond oil, and have ventured in to Palmer’s products. I used the Palmer’s Vitamin E body butter. Today was my first day and the difference was immediately noticeable. Thank you for your. Extremely helpful article.
Yes, I also do oil first but then a body BUTTER. Some of these cacao and Shea butters are too rough when applied directly on dry skin so this helps the application being a tad bit smoother. Whenever I’m in a rush though, I apply the oil first then a body LOTION. On some days I do the body lotion on dried skin then body butter. Sometimes I forgot what my magic combo is lol.
Hi, i have a question. I have a scars and spots that i want to get rid off, so i have been using a tissue oil first. I recently bought the Nivea even tone lotion and I’m wondering if it be effective, or I have to start with the lotion then oil. I want to get rid of the marks first, im not really worried about the glow.
Girl, this way has ALWAYS worked better for my skin! I tried switching after constantly hearing/reading that (paraphrase) “oil should go on after lotion/cream to lock in the moisture because whatever you put on after oil won’t penetrate the skin, therefore rendering that method pointless”?…maybe that’s true, I don’t know for sure… but what I DO know is my skin just wasn’t the same after trying it that way. And I, too, hate that greasy feeling when finishing off with oil. To each their own I guess, I’m sure it does work well for some people, but I’m back to my old ways and never switching again, haha! Glad to come across someone else with the same sentiments! And 1000% YES to using less product, definitely a win! Thank you for sharing! ^^ 🤎
