How to break orb Hogwarts Legacy?
In Percival Rackham’s Trial, a gigantic Pensieve Guardian emerges from the floor in the center of a large circular arena. The Duelling Feats are to hit it with Ancient Magic and destroy the orb it summons as it charges up. To destroy the orb, you must hit it with a spell of the corresponding color. Ancient Magic is your best friend in this fight, as it is the quickest way to deal a hefty amount of damage. Collect small blue Ancient Magic orbs that drop as you combo above 10 hits or more.
Take advantage of the downtime when the Guardian drops to one knee, as it will take increased damage from all sources and drop more Ancient Magic orbs. Rinse and repeat, dodging the Guardian’s stomping attack and any orb shots you fail to destroy. Use Wiggenweld Potions if your health gets low, and an Edurus Potion to strengthen damage resistance.

The strategy for dealing with Ranrok’s attacks in the final phase is similar to the previous one. Avoid his attacks until orbs appear, then destroy them with spells. Drink Maxima Potion and use Ancient Magic on Ranrok, followed by high-damage spells. If not, continue avoiding attacks until another set of orbs appear.
When Ranrok moves to the final area, follow him. This phase is divided into two parts. Ranrok starts in the air, retaining all abilities from the previous phase. To make him vulnerable, destroy three orbs. Drink a Maxima Potion, use Ancient Magic, and blast him with high-damage spells.
During the second part of the last phase, Ranrok is grounded, requiring destruction of four orbs. The orbs will only appear for a short period, so quickly take them down before they disappear.
Can I use Avada Kedavra on Ranrok?
The curse on the final boss, Ranrok Dragon, is ineffective if cast on it, and the final boss is not a living being to prevent anticlimactic defeat. The fight is elaborate with multiple phases, and players often cast colored spells at bubbles to make the boss vulnerable. This approach would be redundant if players could end the fight immediately. Casting Ancient Magic and taking a swig of Hogwarts Legacy’s Maxima Potion can cut down the dragon quickly. The game is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One ports set to release on May 5.
How to break Ranroks connection to Magic?
To defeat Ranrok, launch your best attacks after destroying his shield. Use your red spells and ancient magic attacks to chip away at his large health bar. Avoid using Incendio and only cast ancient magic attacks when Ranrok’s shield is down. Rearrange your Spell Sets to quickly access specific-colored spells, such as red, purple, and yellow. Keep the same color spell in the same slots for easy access.
Dodge and counter often to avoid high-damage attacks from Ranrok. Use Protego or dodge your opponent’s attacks to avoid damage. If you have unlocked Swift in the Core Talents menu, it will help you zip around and escape from danger faster. Remember that a red indicator around your head means you must dodge or take damage, while a golden orange indicator means you can deflect or counter the attack.
In summary, to defeat Ranrok, focus on your best attacks, swap your Spell Sets, dodge and counter frequently, and use your abilities to avoid damage and speed up your escape.

TIPS: – MANY healing potions (at least 25) – MANY maximas & endurus potions – Have cabbages ready to use for when he is on the ground – It will be easier if you are at a higher level (he is at lvl 30) – make sure to unlock more spell loadouts and prep as following: 3 loadouts with one of each color (yellow, purple and red) And one pure offensive with green & red For the yellow orbs use yellow spells, such as levioso and glacio. For purple orbs – purple spells and so on. You can use protego for his orb attacks and for his red shield. Use anicent magic throw for those u can (be close to him so that you can hit him with it) and just dodge the rest. Never take ur eyes of him There are a few save spots so you don’t have to restart everything when you die And if you don’t want a mask to cover your face in these final scenes you can change the appearance to “none” and that will still give u the defense points but it won’t look like u are wearing one.
This boss is crazy. I came in with 25 wiggenwald potions and still died several times. The times I got hit I found I was casting a spell and since the dodge doesn’t cancel the spell cast I got hit while using like bombarda and diffindo. I beat the rest of the game without dying once, but this guy is really brutal
Here are some tips: 1. Stock up on health potions! I ran out and I had 24 going in. There will be more on the rim of the final battle, definitely pick those up. 2. Use protego for the yellow fireballs and also for the red shield he produces 3. Idk about anyone else, but lowering the volume really helped. It made it easier to concentrate on the visuals. 4. Use as many potions as you can. Any defensive potion helps, especially the one that shields your skin with rock. 5. Unlike other bosses, ranrock is a bit unpredictable, which is why he’s so hard to beat. Make sure to roll around a lot to avoid attacks, even if it might seem like you can shield it.
How to beat Ranrok (for me the most easy tactic): 1. Have 25 Wiggenfield Potions 2. Have at least 2 Maxima Potions 3. If possible, have at least 1 Chinese Chomping Cabbage for the final part of the Dragon Boss when he is no longer flying 4. Hit it with all you can and run or block from his attacks. Also don’t forget the circles around him stopping you from attacking him, those circles to be broken need a corresponding spell with the respective color of the circle, after you broke all the circles you will be able to hit the Dragon. I beat it yesterday doing this and it was some sweet revenge to the humiliation he has put my character in before.
Knowing beforehand that this would be too hard for me on normal (which I’ve played most of the game on) I switched to easy. Got to part three in the circular arena in one try. I’m really glad the game saved that progress, cause that took me many tries – on easy. Credit to those who master this on hard!
Fun Fact: According to HP Wiki, a dragons hide is said to be imbedded with “ancient magic”. This may be why when Ranrok takes in all the ancient magic he changes into a dragon form. Theory: Personally, I like to that that the Dragon form is the evil side of the ancient magic power and a Qilin form is the good side of ancient magic. Additionally, goblin silver is the only thing that can contain the ancient magic and armor created from it can weaponize ancient magic. I think what can purify ancient magic is Pukwudgie Venom (considering it’s a unique venom only Pukwudgies know and Pukwudgies are related to dwarves)
I made the mistake of fighting him as a level 26 with no potions no, no anything. I struggled with the last part of the fight I reacciones that you run in circles around and just dodge his attacks until you explode the orbs with the same color spells. After do the same things as before and just dodge and walk in circles around him. There is a patter in his attacks such as when he beams you he is more than likely to attack again but this time with the beam that follows u a bit. After you beat that part he will turn into smoke and land again, after just sprint around him and whenever you get the chance destroy the orbs with the same color attacks and dodge right away and repeat.
Hello I know I am few weeks late if ever u read this comment I am planning to battle ranrok tomorrow I am level 28, I bought 4 eruda potions, 21 wiggleweed potions and all my stuff are legendary I think my defence is 200 + and my offence is 300 + is this enough? pls I need tips lol. Also I am playing in easy mode. Thank you in advance!
This fight and All the other boss fights was worst part of the game literally took it from 10/10 to 7.5 bc WHY TF IS THE DAMN CAMERA AND TARGETING SYSTEM SO TERRIBLY OFF and THE DAMN BUTTONS PRESSING MECHANICS ISNT REGISTERED every time the boss literally lands get free hits? My cast barely work AK is null who decides these things
This battle is fucking awful. I died a total of 10 times and I absolute hate it. Not because it isn’t thematic or flavorful (I really do like it visually), it is because it throws so many of the things the game did well straight out of the window: – it has exactly 1 attack that has NO heads up (why? Why cheat on your own communication?) – it can throw invisible projectiles if it transitions between attacks – it leaves trails of damaging lava on the floor that you literally cannot see during the first two stages because of the camera angle
I kid you not I had 25 Wiggenweld potion when I started the whole quest and got to the rodgok with ZERO, I tried like 15 times and had to use Edurus (3 potions), Focus Potion (8 potions), and Maxima Potion ( 11 potions). It wasn’t till later I found the three wiggenweld potions around the boarder which I thought I’d have hope with but no 😂. I’m not even on hard difficulty, I’m on normal. I about cried once or twice
