The Magic Keyboard, Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, Magic Mouse, and Magic Trackpad work wirelessly via Bluetooth when turned on and paired with your Mac. If the device comes in the box of your new Mac, it should already be paired with that Mac. Make sure to have 2 fresh AA batteries inserted at the bottom of your Magic Mouse and bring your mouse into pairing mode. Turn off the Magic Mouse at the bottom of the mouse.
To use the Magic Mouse from your Mac with your iPad or iPad Pro, turn on your Bluetooth accessory and place it near your iPad. For any new Mac or Magic Mouse, you will need to connect it to Mac before using it. The process for pairing depends on whether you have the Magic Mouse 1 or 2 and whether you want to pair it with your Mac or Windows device. To pair the Magic Mouse, make sure the mouse is turned on and charged.
For Apple Magic Mouse, Magic Keyboard, and Magic Trackpad, the devices can be force-paired by connecting the included lightning cable to the USB-C to Lightening Cable that came with your mouse. Double-click the Bluetooth icon in the Windows taskbar or click on the + symbol below for detailed instructions.
For Magic Mouse 2, flip the switch on the underside of the Magic Mouse and see a green light flash indicating that the device is connected to your Mac. If you have a Magic Mouse 2, connect it with a Lightning to USB cable to the Mac you want to pair your Apple wireless mouse with.
