An oracle is a set of cards, stones, or other objects that allow individuals to ask questions from the spirit. These oracles typically have a theme and can offer messages through various imagery or objects. Many oracles work on the principle of the archetype, which is a recurring symbol or form.
Creating an oracle involves setting an intention and creating a plan. The first pillar of divination is observation, which is the most common method. Animal divination was common in shamanistic cultures and is based on the principle of archetypes. Oracle decks are series of cards with images or words that can be used for divination, goal-setting, mood-lifting, or connecting with intuition or a higher power. Each deck has a theme, and divination systems represent the dynamics of human life, including social and political interaction.
Divination cards are a reflection of our desires, core understandings, and relevant themes. You don’t have to spend a lot of money to create your own divination deck. You can create a system as you want, using small stones, sticks, or crystals to ascribe certain meanings. Oracle decks are also a good form for divination, but they are slightly different than a tarot deck.
Exploring different divination systems that use cards, either with or without images and symbolism, for guidance, prediction, and fortune-telling purposes is essential. Divination methods are not instructions, nor are programming languages able to predict the future, barring some new innovation in quantum computing.

If anyone has read any sorces for High Magic, Wicca or Shamanistic practice, each practioner (Mage, Witch, Shaman) or studied/apprenticed directly under a person who practices their archetypal tradition, this is how it used to be in the pre technological eras. Your own tools material or visual images enable each to focus and manifest what needs to be brought into the world for self growth. Remember, the Rider-Waite deck was commisioned to Coleman because she was an artist while Waite was not. Pamela Coleman Smith’s original deck was probably used by herself and copies made for other Golden Dawn members. Each magnetized the deck through use and eventually didn’t need the cards, according to some wrters and experienced magi, witches and shamans.
