Railroad spikes are large nails used to fasten train rails to wooden beams called ties. They are commonly used in hoodoo, where they are placed along each corner of the property, covered with graveyard dirt, and urinate on them to ground practitioners to their land. They can also be placed in doorways or buried outside the home.
In mojo bags or other talismans, railroad spikes provide spiritual strength and help individuals overcome obstacles and challenges. They can also be used in mojo bags or other talismans to provide spiritual strength and help individuals overcome obstacles and challenges. Railroad spikes are also used in hoodoo work and banishment spells.
In hoodoo, burying railroad spikes in each corner of the property creates a protective barrier around it. They can also be used to draw lines in the sand, state boundaries, and ask people to leave. The first step is to secure railroad spikes, one for each corner (or if the property is irregular in shape, more such that every change of direction in the house) to secure the property.
These railroad spikes are often used in folk magic and can be turned into a charm or used in a warding system. A protection spell for your home can be created using a railroad spike ward, which can be witch-crafted and used in various ways. I remember finding old railroad spikes when I was a kid. I don’t remember where, but I had one I kept because it just felt good when I would hold it. I don’t know where it ended up, but I definitely want to make this! That spike was around in my life for years. Who knows, I may find it when I’m decluttering! Thank you for showing how you add layers of magic with this. Great article!

I have a horseshoe over my door after a reading I did for myself that suggested it and hinted at blacksmithing in the family. I just found out this week that’s what my great heart grandfather did when he first came to this country!Just bought the Good Juju book for audible. Thanks for the suggestion and great info as always. 😊
I saw you showing this new project last week. Not knowing much about railroad history or nail magic, I instantaneously could see a protective spirit embodied in this nail. Without any pre thought, I ordered one immediately and knew I must have one in my home. Some things just call to us. Like finding that one special random rock on a walk or crystal in the shop bowl. I am looking forward to it. Thanks 🙏 😊 so much. You are a inspiration and a great teacher!
❤️❤️ Great timing, I’m moving into a new apartment this Tuesday. I may have to make one myself. I remember begging my mother to buy a railroad spike for me when I was about 8, I have no idea why I was so drawn to it but she got it for me. 😀 Although it disappeared over the years. Lol Thank you for this article. ❤️❤️
So just stumbled upon this article. I love it, and one thing I have noticed is that yes the railroad spikes themselves will give you hints as to how they wish to be used. Also I find it that at times people whom are not from this or that tradition end up using them for the same things even if they have no knowledge of each others traditions . For example I use them for property wards, protection works, etc. and after speaking to a Hoodoo practicioner they indicated that they to have multiple uses for them in their tradition that includes many of the same things I use in my own individual folkloric based practice.
When you deal with war negativity on evil just darkness in general you don’t want to deal with it but you don’t get a choice in life you got to set up a s*** ton of protection they do get expensive from $6 to $10 and up just for one so it’s very price gouge and you really don’t know where it came from I got lucky when they were repairing roads and my husband’s people were very thoughtful and I was blessed to get a lot and if you think about it you do four corners outside Four Corners in or every window you will need a lot
I’m so glad someone is FINALLY talking about the power magick of trains! Train magick (and railroad spike/tie magick) can be websiteed into powerful scouting and connectivity spells. Living near an active (or disused) railyard, train tracks, or spur line or simply practicing ritualisim nearby can amplify connectivity and scouting resonance for your spells ❤️❤️🚂🚞
Folks in the community know about natural Ley lines. Have you considered Ley lines created by animal migrations. As you discussed in this vid, the energy residing in the railroad spike, how about the RR rails. Expanding on this concept, how about trails, roads, freeways? Add sidewalks and other walkways on which energy beings regularly pass over while leaving energy residue. Have you noticed in cities how the energy patterns are so diverse and scattered? These artificial energy paths must have some effect on anyone who is sensitive to the energy fields.
Excellent article! I love your energy. I love how you explain it. I love your turkey feather. I’m Indigenous and have spikes. I have a great and urgent need for the protection. However, I know a form of this is used in Hoodoo and wanted to hear from the Black community to make sure I’m not crossing any boundaries. I really try to be respectful of closed practices. I know how that feels. ❤️ I feel like if this were a closed practice, you probably would’ve made that disclaimer. But I still want to find confirmation before I proceed.
