To switch needle sizes in the Magic Loop knitting method, replace the needle tip in your right hand with a new circular needle in another size. Knit down one side of the magic loop, turn your work, and continue knitting until you have freed the old needles from your work. Then, you can continue knitting with the new sized needles. This method is sometimes called for in knitting patterns to change the size of stitches between sections of a project.
When decreasing the tops of hats, it is important to switch from knitting on circular needles to knitting in the Magic Loop. This method uses one long circular needle to knit socks, sweater sleeves, hats, or any small circumference project. One of the best tips for the Magic Loop method is to use a longer circular needle, especially when you’re just starting to practice working with it. The longer your cable, the more space your cable will have to flex comfortably.

I was trying to find a article how to transfer from double pointed needles to Magic Loop. Haven’t find any yet, is it possible? if yes, could you do a tutorial on that too? I’ve knitted a pair of socks with magic loop, but find the casting really hard and at the beginning the knittings tend to twist very easily, so if I could cast the socks on double pointed needles and even knit part of the cuff with them, and then transfer to Magic loop – that would be perfect
