Growing Rites of Itlimoc is an enchantment that can be used to transform a creature into Gaea’s Cradle, but it is not considered optimal for cEDH. The best case scenario for using Growing Rites is committing 3 mana and a turn, which could be used for game-altering play in Selvala without needing a road bump. However, there are better options than Growing Rites, such as Gaea’s Cradle, which can be used immediately after a creature leaves the battlefield.
When Growing Rites of Itlimoc enters the battlefield, it allows players to reveal a creature card from among their library and put it into their hand. This card is designed to build a deck with mostly creatures, and the enchantment rewards players for that. While some people find Growing Rites of Itlimoc to be a budget Gaea’s Cradle, it may not be as useful early in the game.
Growing Rites of Itlimoc holds an extremely high value as a reserved list rare that sees play everywhere it is legal. It can easily be pulled out of a deck when entering the battlefield. The price trend for Growing Rites of Itlimoc is 3,61 €, with an average price of 3,44 € for 30-days, 3,26 € for 7-days, and 1,61 € for 1-day. Overall, Growing Rites of Itlimoc is not a good option for cEDH or other decks that require a high mana cost.

I had this card in My Gahiji tokens. I took it out, not because it is a bad card, it just did not fit in, because my token producers and other cards in the deck are a mix of creatures and instants and sorceries, I was almost never able to get a card off of the enchantment with a creature count of 19. Whenever it had the opportunity to flip, it always got removed before it could become Cradle. Ironically shortly after I decided to give up on the card, I was able to trade for Gaea’s Cradle, something I never thought I would be able to do. I think if you run it in a deck with 25-32 creatures minimum, you have a good chance to get CA off of it, so when people go to remove it, (which they probably will), it at least replaced itself.
