Is It Possible To Use Oracle Cards In Tarot Spreads?

Oracle cards are a powerful divination tool that can be used alongside tarot readings in various ways. Three main ways to use tarot cards alongside a tarot reading are:

  1. Before a reading, pull one card to set an intention for the tarot.
  2. When using a large tarot spread, draw oracle cards for each major section of the spread. For example, if laying down the Celtic Cross, draw one oracle card for the cross and another.
  3. To use oracle cards with tarot, combine the tarot deck with any oracle deck of your choice, ask a question, shuffle the combined deck, and draw some cards.

Can playing cards be used for divination?

Cartomancy is a form of fortune-telling or divination that emerged in Europe in the 14th century. Practitioners, known as cartomancers or card readers, use standard 52-card decks for fortune-telling readings in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. In France, the 32-card piquet stripped deck is most commonly used, although the 52-card deck can also be used. In English-speaking countries, the most common form of cartomancy is tarot card reading, with tarot cards being almost exclusively used for this purpose. Cartomancers, card readers, or simply readers are all professionals involved in cartomancy.

Christians should avoid tarot cards and astrology as the Bible teaches against divination and encourages seeking guidance from God. The Lord put Saul to death for consulting a medium and gave his kingdom over to David. It is part of the faith journey and Christians should trust that God will reveal what they need to know when they need it.

When dealing with a parent’s divorce, it is important to remember that God loves you and validates your feelings. It is okay to be not okay, and a marriage can hit many potholes along the way. When dealing with uncertainty, unanswered questions, and deep emotions, it is essential to have someone in your corner who can calm the stormy sea. God will always be your anchor when you feel uneasy, and at the worst of times, lean on Jesus. Seek out like-minded, God-fearing friends in a church or youth group to confide in or someone you trust. Jesus is the best comforter and can bring peace that surpasses all understanding.

Are you allowed to do your own tarot reading?

Tarot is a popular and ancient practice that has gained popularity in the mainstream. It involves using cards to interpret and predict the future, providing insight into current situations and allowing individuals to make predictions. Tarot spreads can be done on oneself, even for beginners. To begin, clean the energy of your space by burning herbs, ringing bells or chimes, taking a bath, or using crystals. A Selenite wand is a popular energy refresher that can be used to clear the space, cards, and your body.

After cleansing the energy, sit comfortably and visualize protective energy surrounding you. Shuffle the deck by taking deep breaths, thinking about your question or needing guidance, and keeping your mind and heart open to potential answers. When the cards feel mixed, deal them out in a “spread”, which influences the meaning of each card in combinations. It is important to know the spread you will be working with before beginning to shuffle, as the answers may require additional cards for further clarity or starting with a new question from a different perspective.

In summary, Tarot is a powerful tool for gaining insight into current situations, honoring intuition, and forecasting potential outcomes. It is a simple process that can be done on oneself, and it is essential to practice regularly to ensure a successful Tarot reading.

  • I came here to learn how to read better for oracle and tarot readings and i feel like i was guided here to actually hear the message & the tarot/oracle cards you pulled lol. I literally got almost the same reading when i went to see someone two weeks ago.. wow. Lol and you made this article 2 years ago but clearly time doesn’t exist to source😂 thank you for this🫶🏽🫶🏽

  • Absolutely love this article! I’m new to oracle cards but I was lead to a local store and found my deck and have been using it daily with amazing guidance. Today I felt lead to search some ways to shuffle etc which lead me to this article. I didn’t realize the reading would be speaking directly to me but it resonated with me. I almost hit the floor when you pulled the high priestess card! Hello I’m Dana! I’m having such an amazing time learning to follow my Guidance 🙏🏻❤️

  • My first experience with oracle cards was 12 years ago. There has been a long pause and 2 years ago I picked up the cards again and combined them with tarot and sometimes other divination methods. This time more seriously, wasn’t ready back then. I am getting it after two years of practice and still learning. But hey like some one said: tarot has so many possible combinations and symbolism that you always keep learning. And yeah here in your article I do too so thank you 😊 The one thing that bothers me personally is riffle/bridge shuffle (for my own cards I mean). I don’t like damaging my cards. So I don’t. I understand why you do that and yes it’s a way of touching them all but personally I would rather not. I have this thing about books and cards. They are like sacred and damaging them bothers me.

  • “That’s why the obsession begins…” 😂 This part made me laugh because it’s so true! Thank you for doing this article. I feel like my process with reading oracle cards in the way that works for me is validated. ♥️ Would you be comfortable doing a article on connecting with our Spirit Guides or like any tips for doing so? That’s an area I’m feeling nudged and guided to explore more on and actually ask you about. 😊 I appreciate any feedback. Thank you! Sending love. 🙏🏼♥️✨

  • …that was really great..informative..natural and intuitive.I am drawn to do Oracle card readings for others…I prefer the open boundlessness that I feel in Oracle cards rather than..what I perceive as…the more..one size fits all..of Tarot Cards.Looking forward to buying an Oracle Set and doing readings. It is now ..tues 26 April…my mother in law’s birthday…she passed on last year.May..God Bless and keep Her and her loved ones..especially my wife.We all love you ..Jenny.Amen.Bright Moments from Australia 🐝🌈💫

  • Loved this article and how honest and open you were. I have been reading oracle cards for a year but was winging it. Thanks for helping me learn this skill better. I love the free spread. I have totally subscribed looking forward to learning more. I have been doing past present and future. So seeing how others do readings is great. What happens when a bunch jump out? Do you always read them in order.

  • Thank you! ❤ I am very new to oracle cards and I feel so much better asking them what they want to show me, rather than me asking a question. I actually didn’t know that different oracle card decks are for different reasons either! But that makes sense. I love how you wait for the ‘jumpers’ and then let it tell a story. This feels more natural to me and feels like the Guides are showing us what they want to tell us through the cards.

  • I have such a HARD AF TIME shuffling the sized cards I have! And they’re sooo stiff! Any ideas on how to break them in faster? And that is one of the main reason I don’t use them. I’m hopefully going to try and get a smaller sized deck today. 🤞🏻👏🏻 and I do know how to bridge shuffle normal sized cards.

  • I know this is a 3 year old article, but I just wanted to comment and say I was influenced into purchasing the Sacred Destiny oracle deck. I already love it so much. It is as if you have awakened in me a love and desire to use discover more through oracle cards, I have been studying Tarot for a while and I love it as well. There was something about the Sacred Destiny oracle deck that just called to me. Also, your article was full of such great energy that it was impossible to not discover the greatness in oracle cards. thank you so much, blessings

  • Thank you for sharing. I feel I only get clear messages and it feels good to do it freeform. Anytime I have tried to force a layout or spread, i feel resistance, but since I am so new, felt I should try and learn it the “proper way”. Nice to have people share that it does not need to be any certain way.

  • Hello. So oracle cards are easier to learn. Someone gave me the Saints & Angels Oracle Cards(44 cards). I call myself practicing with them. Is this deck easy to learn and do any readings? What kind of cards would you recommend to a beginner? I heard The Original Rider Waite Tarot Set was best for beginners . I need a deck that is the easiest. What can you recommend for me?

  • This reading is for me even though it was a year ago! I’m literally starred saving for a house today it’s not much but it’s a start! It’s really been on my heart for a while now and my sister literally ask me for help the same today I decided to save. And I found out the bank I’m with actually do an interest rate as well so that was even excited to see ! I did a reading on myself the other night I new and I got pretty much the same thing you pulled for destiny. That pretty cool since I have only been doing it for a little over a week now. Let’s me know my reading was right! And this was a year ago!
