Rite Aid workers have ratified a three-year agreement with Rite Aid Corp., covering 2,700 locations, following the pharmacy chain’s bankruptcy filing in October. What went wrong at Rite Aid?
Rite Aid, the third-largest drugstore chain in the United States, has encountered considerable difficulties as a consequence of prolonged mismanagement and misguided decision-making. The company’s decision to file for bankruptcy in October was precipitated by the accumulation of liabilities associated with lawsuits pertaining to the distribution of opioids and the prevailing challenges within the retail pharmacy sector. Are unions allowed in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania is not a “right-to-work” state, but it has a strong union presence, shaping the state’s employment landscape. In a recent ruling, the U. S. Supreme Court determined that public employees in Pennsylvania are protected by the First Amendment from being compelled by law to financially support a labor union against their will. This implies that public employees are permitted to decline to remit union dues without risking the loss of their employment or employer-provided benefits. This decision permits unions to take their members for granted and prevents financial abuse.
Why did Rite Aid fail?
Rite Aid, a leading pharmacy chain, has experienced a decline in its market share due to rising healthcare costs and stagnant revenue. The company’s debt has accumulated nearly $3 billion in net losses since 2018, limiting its ability to invest in store renovations. The rise of online threats from Amazon and in-store pharmacies at major chains like Walmart and Kroger further undermined Rite Aid’s competitiveness.
Fitch Ratings analyst David Silverman explains that the company’s limited ability to invest in improvements led to its continued decline. However, the pandemic provided Rite Aid with a temporary boost in business through COVID vaccine sales, which in turn boosted sales of other items.

When Trump left office we were in the middle of a pandemic. The border was closed because they used covid as an excuse to close it. Mortgage rates were low, gas prices were low, etc because demand was low. People werent working, so they werent filling up their gas tanks every week. They werent making big purchases because we were in the middle of a pademic. I am so tired of the spin. Its exhausting. Inflation and interest rates went up after the pandemic because demand went up but supply was an issue. And now we all know that corporations were using inflation as a civer to price gouge. Do a better job calling them out on their outright lies.
If taking care of the border was such an issue for all these years, why weren’t they talking about it before recently? If taking care of immigration was an issue why was Kamala saying in interviews she’d make it easier for immigrants to get into this country? Why is closing the border just now so important??? Kama-Kama-Kama-Kama-Kameleon
Ugh… Lindsey, who called out Trump before he was elected, saying he would destroy the Republican party and they’d deserve it. Then he was done with Trump again after Jan. 6th. But here he is, still sucking up to him. He has no spine. He’s also the guy that said it was “too close to an election” to take Obama’s nominee for the Supreme Court 10 months before the 2016 election. But in 2020 he was completely fine with rushing through Trump’s nomination for Brett Kavanaugh 3 weeks before an election, even though several women had accused him of rape and sexual harassment. Trump blocked those investigations before they were done so they could fill the Supreme Court with loyalists.
Lindsey, Lindsey, Lindsey. You are spineless, have never passed up an opportunity to squirm out of a tough question that would annoy your handlers BUT show an ounce of morals and honor. I would not trust you to run a hot dog stand. Is there anybody in your life whose opinion is so important to you (mother, wife, etc.) that you are willing to RISE to each occasion where the RIGHT answer is not the most popular answer? I do pity you.
Trump should not call Kamala mentally challenged when he is. I just sent a link for everyone to see just how Trump acts towards disabled people. Y’all tell me if Trump is mentally challenged. No person or former president acts ridiculous like this! Anyone that votes for Trump is just as much like this as he is Lindsey Graham
I have a question. Can someone please tell me why is it that at these Trump rallies no one has seemed to have picked up on that he hardly ever talks about policy? Is it that they don’t know or is that they don’t care? There was a guy that said that “Trump couid commit a murder right in front of his face and he would still vote for him.”And you know what that is believable becuase the United States Supreme Court has been giving him permission to commit crimes even before he was out of office.
To interviewer: Why don’t you interrupt him when he goes off a tangent avoiding answering your question? Why do CNN journalists give these liars and hypocrites a pass and let them speak all they want to say before answering a direct question! It’s just my opinion, but part of the problem is that in the spirit of fair and balanced, CNN gives equal time and forum to narratives that are false to those that are true or based on facts. They do not deserve equal time and they deserve to be interrupted, challenged, and clarified as they are being expressed. The media gives too much “equal” time to narratives that they KNOW for fact are absolutely FAKE bs. Unfortunately, not everyone perusal and listening has the ability to discern facts from fiction and will believe anyone who fits their imagined or resentful narrative if it’s from someone they follow and is given a public forum to spread them.
This man speaks sense. I am in the uk and have just the same issues. Its not just america. You are not the only county who is trying to deal with this. The border was a problem with trump and he did nothing. People are fleeing from wars and hunger. All people in power need to work together, not with trump but sensible republicans. There must be some who aren’t racists and haters!!!!!😢😢
There is growing frustration with the GOP’s actions surrounding the bill. Many Americans are aware that the party previously blocked its passage, yet now, they appear on public platforms shifting blame onto Democrats, attempting to position themselves favorably. It is deeply concerning to witness some governors, elected by the people to serve their interests, seemingly align with policies that exacerbate the challenges faced by the American public. This is not about partisan politics or personalities—it’s about delivering solutions for the nation. Lawmakers must focus on passing legislation that directly impacts the well-being of the people rather than engaging in divisive rhetoric.
When he said at 1:30 “I promise you…” I stopped the article. I am supposed to believe a politician’s promise about something when he’d just been shown to have used statistics that covered decades and implied directly they were applicable to Harris, who has as VICE-President neither the authority nor the ability to do anything except to preside over the Senate? NFW.
After 3.5 years of unfulfilled promises and ineffective policies from the Kamala/Biden administration, the worsening state of the country raises concerns about her ability to recognize her party’s failures. Trump’s comments about her mental capacity are serious and warrant attention, especially considering his previous insights regarding Biden.
Just like that bully on the playground, he’s lashing out because he feels threatened. Kamala is a highly intelligent, capable, amazingly strong woman. All the things trump is scared of. He’s mad because she’s not afraid to put him in his place. Let’s all vote and make sure the Kamala gets the job. So we can put trump and people like him in our rearview. America needs healing not hate.
I don’t need another debate to make a decision who to vote for….the current situation we live speaks for itself, this country is a mess with high prices in everything, hundreds of thousands of immigrants asking for food stamps, asylum even though the economy in USA is out of control….With President Donald Trump we were much better than today, the economy was stable, gas prices, rent, etc, etc…
Commentator of America Evangelist Mary Cole Truesby: Trump isn’t campaigning he is disrespectful!!! Everything Trump states is personal not relative e to how he is going to take care of America and Americans!!! What he says is not political!!! It’s disgraceful!!! Intelligence Needs to be displayed!!! He doesn’t know how to handle this Country !!!Hallelujah
Coming from the guy who looked into the sun with the world perusal, suggested UV light and Lysol be used internally (if he was joking then why did it take so long for him to say it was just a joke?), stereotypes and insults numerous groups and thinks of himself as uniting, and said people who badmouth public officials should be imprisoned for doing so not long after having done that exact thing
We are not going to save the world. That is not our job. As Christians our job is to point others to Jesus.… If we know scripture we know who the accuser is, if we know the Bible we know who the Father of lies is, if we know our Bible we know who the mocker is. If I wouldn’t marry someone who falsely accuses, lies, or enjoys mocking others then why would I vote for them? God is in control no matter what happens. And that’s good enough for me even if it’s not good enough for him!
Jake Tapper, although you will never read this, I must tell you that you have lost all credibility as a journalist. Your continued silence while a MAGAt like Graham railroads the interview is appalling. You, Kaitlyn Collins and Dana Bash should resign and work for Fox. I cannot continue to watch CNN.
