Hello fellow vet I gust received my 100% and after looking on my VA payment it showed $3300.03 the exact amount of my retirement. I am a 26 yr retired married army vet. Is this the norm it was my understanding I would receive the full benefit receive the full VA benefit. Any advise would be appreciated

I did and for a year had to repeatedly call the pharmacy to get the bills corrected because the primary care, renewing my prescriptions did not know to enter them properly. Let me get this straight, they gave their Executives MILLIONS and could not collect that back, but Come hell or high water, the veterans can PAY IT BACK? And yet they are over $3 BILLION in the rears? Let me fix this math for you, REmove the Executives, take their homes, stocks, bonds, etc until this pay raise was restored back and then figure out why VA can’t do math. Then put some HONEST people in their offices and administrative places and go from there.
Lots of people act like they should be catered to like a king for a job they got paid for. Most didn’t do anything crazy, probably never fired a weapon in combat, never got injured and walk around at 100%pt. If you deserve a higher rating file the correct paperwork, show the proof and you won’t be skipped over. Like anything else you have to do your research nobody cares about you. If you deserve it get it, apply for it. Be honest you know plenty of people act like they were rambo and had a easier job than most blue color workers. Lots of perks out there if you spend a little time researching.
If you are not paying for insurance a $25 (covers most meds) co-pay is not unreasonable. For many medications you can use GoodRX and get a better deal too. At the same time I think that it should be based in the individuals income too. Under 50% the VA will only pay for medications directly related to the service connected problems. At 50% and above all medications are covered. I’m assuming the in hospital copays are in line with I just mentioned.
For whatever reason they cut off my direct deposit and are sending me a check for next month. I called and re-verified my direct deposit information but they said it was too late to get it sent to the same account I have been using since I filed my claim. I am curious if its related to all the funding drama.
this is a good thing the VA is doing. As much information & help you may provide, most veterans are dishonest & lie all the time when it comes to stuff like PTSD. Ailments & injuries are different claims though. You got veterans getting paid 100% for PTSD & never deployed. I hope the VA catches up with dishonest & lying veterans. This is the taxpayer’s money we are talking about.
Can you answer this question, why does the va, both during C&P exams, sometimes during regular va exams, ask if you are employed? Does this affect decision making? I am asked this all the time and feel like it’s invasive and unnecessary, and makes me generally feel uncomfortable as to why it’s being asked. To be fair, some of this info I guarantee they would use against you. If you’re stating you have asthma from a burn pit but also worked the last 5 years at a mold removal company, they surely blame that.
My husband NEEDS his meds. With head injuries, PTSD, and other mental issues from being in combat, etc, he ABSOLUTELY can not go without his medicine. Not unless you want King Kong climbing a building near you and barking orders to invisible lower inlisted to train their sights on an invisible enemy. We wouldn’t have been able to afford his medicine years ago with pension. Not until he got his 100% P&T. I dont agree with veterans having to pay co-pays. Some cant handle their own “real” bills that support their lives let alone copays for live saving or mental care. Mental health is a real problem and veterans should get those meds for free. Especially combat veterans.
Agrivating at the double talk veterans get upon discharge. This happened once to me I discharged. Army gave 5500.00 help my ex girlfriend with student loans (Patty brown clark or whatever her name is today, she never bailed me out) few months after filing they took my whole 10% I was discharged with 0% service connection……how does that happen.
I’ve been going to VA since 1972. I didn’t have any disabilities but I got my medication and it was anywhere from $.50 to a dollar and a couple years. I didn’t pay it or I forgot about it one year and when I got my income tax return back they abducted $15 from it from the VA so I don’t know why you guys are squawking so much Now I’m 100% disability
Why should we have any copayment. For the majority we need the medical care because we volunteered to defend this country and gave the best years of our bodies and minds to the military. But if we decided to just sit around and not work or contribute to society and just crank out kids or come to the country illegally we could get every benefit known to man for FREE! Go figure
back in the mid 90s I went to VA and got a prescription for 500mg Ibup. which was and still may be their go to for back pain. Anywho a few months later I started getting a bill from them for a co pay of a whopping 1 cent. Thats right they mailed me a bill for a penny. They sent me tons of these because I refuse to go back to them for a penny. Anyways I moved to another state and went back to them for my back again and they refuse to see me unless I paid them what I owe. So I went to the billing department yada yada and when I gave them my penny I asked for a receipt. VA will waste 10 dollars to collect a penny. Make sure you get a receipt. LOL
The VA is trying to lower the rating the V.A. had to correct from when I discharged 21 years ago. Now they want to lower it……I am getting where I do not care. U even worked for the VA hospital and worked weekends, went to college both full time missed out on 3 years of holliday pay. And now some bueracrats in d.c. got a bonus. Hmm.
I had my ears cleaned by the VA and they charged me 40 bucks. They sent the bill to the wrong house (my parents who were no longer living) and yes my address was correct in the system. 4 years later doing taxes and it was lower than usually, come to find out the treasury took over to collect. I called the VA they said I had to call the treasury who basically told me to go to the VA. Went to the VA found the window I had to go to and was able to get it to where I paid my 40 bucks to cover it.
Hey! Just a note about the VA and CPAP machines. I went to ‘re-order’ supplies for my machine and the website denied me. I went to MyAir app for ResMed and found my machine hadn’t been reporting. Almost a month ago, I informed my 4th Primary Care provider ( no thanks to the Hampton VA ) that I hadn’t received an appointment to check my machine. Come to find out. My machine hasn’t been connected to cellular service, so it wasn’t reporting my use to the VA, so, the VA appears to have ‘removed’ me from the rolls for CPAP use without asking me or informing me! IF they had checked my SD card during the normally scheduled check of my machine, they would have known I was using it! But, due to my insomnia which I believe is the cause of my ‘mild cognitive impairment’ I didn’t realize they hadn’t scheduled me for checking my machine for almost 2 years. I’ve had 3 heart attacks, 3 stints and a mitral valve replacement in the past 3 years. I’ve been too busy with OTHER THINGS to realize the amount of time that has passed. My fault. But, I wrote the company and complained about the size of the screen an the miniscule size of the notification for cellular connection. HOPE none of you experience similar treatment.
