Mystic Seaport Museum is reintroducing its Halloween theatrical production, Nautical Nightmares, starting on October 12th. The performance, inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s works, will take place on October 16-17, 23-24, and 30. The event is a dramatic and engaging experience for visitors, with the “Tales of Terror: An Evening with Poe” performance inviting them to join Poe as he explores the faerie realm.
The museum is also seeking actors for two seasonal productions, Nautical Nightmares: Madness on the Mystic River and Wake of the Banshee. The theme for 2019 is “Embark on an adventure through the faerie realm and…” The museum also offers a 1-hour guided tour, with the theme being “Embark on an adventure through the faerie realm and…”
The museum is also planning a new nautical-themed bar called Dangerbar for Factory Square in downtown Mystic. The museum is seeking feedback from visitors and locals about the Nautical Nightmares program, expressing disappointment with this year’s production.
