I really like this ad, because I created a background story with it. She’s escaped a toxic relationship after years of abuse. With what little money she has, she’s scraped together enough for a tiny studio apartment in the city. She beautifies her little world – and her life- with greenery. As she stands on her balcony looking out over the city, she feels a happiness she hasn’t known in years. She’s finally free.
I love how she looks so depressed about how “drab” her apartment is even though most people would kill to have an apartment exactly like that in New York (I assume is the city). Anything with a view like that will be crazy expensive. Then fills it with like $1000 worth of plants. Lol it’s funny this is meant to be relatable but in order to get what she got you need to be made of money, like people in Amazon commercials always seem to be.
Commercial is dark, the apartment is dark and I stead of buying lighting she buys plants to put in a dark apartment. She opens the box and pulls out a spray bottle looking at it like it is the most amazing thing. No furniture, artwork or lights, but lots of plants. And an unintelligible song with an annoying cadence.
I’m perusal the commercial. Why she move to a big city, in a small apt, then grow all those plants around and inside?!?! Sh should’ve moved to New Orleans, West Virginia. The. She hung out the window, looking on at jammed up traffic and police sirens. Smiling. Idk. Just odd asf. Nice song. That’s why I’m ultimately here. The song is beautiful
Thanks for ruining everyone’s wedding song. We should be able to class-action lawsuit Amazon & the idiot artist who thought that they could improve on one of the pinnacles of human achievement. Hint… you made this awesome song WORSE for your involvement. Write your own song or admit (honestly, there are no new tunes to write) that you can not and find a different career. I realized that there were no “new” chord progressions in my 20’s. Now, in my 50’s, I see successful copy-cats and want to puke. Olivia Rodrigo is a great example. She was made to include Paramore and Taylor Swift in the writing credits of her biggest hit song because she “borrowed heavily” from their works. This mess in this commercial makes me sick.
