Is There A Scent Coming From The Magical Butter Machine?

The MagicalButter machine is a fully-automatic countertop botanical extractor, immersion blender, and heating unit that can turn cannabis into edible butters, oils, and tinctures with just a press of a button. It features scent-lock technology, which keeps the majority of the smell contained within the machine. The machine heats up to the perfect temperature via its microprocessor unit, mixing, grinding, and extracting the essence of herbs to leave you with a finished infused oil.

The MagicalButter Machine is not 100% scent-proof, but it does not mask it 100%. The lingering smell will dissipate very shortly. Decarboxylation provides a scent, but it does not mask it 100%. The machine is ideal for those who prefer ingesting cannabis rather than smoking it. However, it is best not to expose the machine in an oven uncovered and allow everyone to smell it.

To activate the MagicalButter machine, preheat your oven to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. The machine has a scent-lock technology, so most of the smell will be contained within the machine. However, it may still smell if you use other non-airtight containers. Although the Magical Butter is not 100% scent-proof, it is a significant reduction in the smell category and does the trick for those who prefer ingesting cannabis.

The Magical Butter Bag employs cutting-edge smell-proof technology to keep odors locked in, making it suitable for both traveling and storage. The machine itself doesn’t have much of an odor, as it is completely sealed while the machine is running. The smell depends on what you stick in the machine, such as glycerin or Corn Syrup.

How do I know when my Cannabutter is done?

To make a cannabis butter, grind the herb using a hand grinder and combine the butter and 2 cups of water in a medium saucepan. Bring to a low simmer over medium heat, then add the ground cannabis. Reduce the heat to low and cook the butter gently, stirring occasionally, until the top layer changes from watery to glossy and thick, 2 to 3 hours.

Set a sieve over a medium bowl and line it with cheesecloth. Pour the infusion into the sieve and let it sit until all the butter has been filtered, about 5 minutes. Wrap the edges of the cheesecloth over the herb and use a rubber spatula to press on the solids to extract all the butter (discard the solids). Cover the bowl tightly and refrigerate the strained butter for at least 3 hours or overnight.

The next day, lift out the solid block of butter and discard any liquid remaining in the bowl. Use a paper towel to pat the surface of the butter on all sides to absorb any droplets of moisture. Wrap the butter in two layers of plastic wrap and store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 months or in the freezer for up to 6 months.

Can you make magical butter without lecithin?

Lecithin is often added to butter to improve binding and prevent issues for soy allergies. Sunflower lecithin is preferred over soy due to its lower GMO content and lower fat content. Powdered sunflower lecithin is better than liquid and can be made into edible infusions with butter or oil. Although it may seem daunting at first, it becomes easier with the use of a Magical Butter machine. It is essential to use sunflower lecithin to avoid GMOs and ensure a healthy, delicious infusion.

  • Hi and thanks. Question. If this machine uses heat to make the product why do you need to decarb? I have been making Canna Butter for over 20 years and have never decarbed my product. Just put product water and butter in a large boiler and bring to boil the just let it simmer for a day or so. The biscuits I used to make with this butter were legendary. Now I just use the butter for pain just rub it on neat it works a treat. There is a lot of work involved using my method so a MBM might be just what I need. Cheers sistah. Please stay safe.

  • I have no sense of smell, so I don’t care about the smell of cannabis really, but we have people here who don’t enjoy it, and I personally don’t use cannabis or smoke or anything. I’m mainly looking for a nice present for my mother in law. So thank you for an informative review, and it’s super helpful for someone who isn’t even interested in this stuff, but is looking to get a present for someone.

  • So the cookbook that comes with the machine says “magical infused coconut oil: 2 hours”. The website, on the other hand, says “set 1 hour (oil). Each website or review gives different timing. Which is it?! Truly appreciate any help! I’d prefer not to hear “you can do either one”. Mainly just looking for the best timing for coconut oil (hard when at room temp which is why I think they say 2 hours, but it’s technically oil and the website currently says only 1 hour). Which will be most potent/efficient herb use?
