People often avoid trying their best, believing that they cannot or should not have done something because it is harder. However, some people believe in talent, as some are naturally better at certain areas than others. The MBTI supports this idea, and it is not necessary to believe in the tarot like some god or ghost. Psychotherapists do not do fortune-telling but focus on deeper psychological symbols of the tarot and how they can be applied to everyday life.
In relation to representational drawing and painting, skills need to be learned and perfected over time. Tarot readings can help individuals improve skills by alerting them to effective methods and encouraging them to discard failing ones. However, intuition, honesty, and presence are essential for success. Being present and grounded while experiencing the cards is crucial.
The answer to whether one believes in tarot is both “yes” and “no”. While everyone has the ability, not everyone has the “talent” for it. We will always be a mix of talent, doubt, hope, uncertainty, and love. We can conduct ourselves for the greater good with the best of our abilities.

Why don’t tarot cards work?
The interpretation of a tarot card depends on the questions asked, card combinations used, and spreads used. Standard card meanings may not be suitable for a specific context. It’s important to ask “How can I interpret this card in this specific reading?” instead of “What does this card mean?” This approach is not taught in courses like my Tarot Foundations program, which covers all 78 tarot cards.
Should you do tarot reading?
Tarot readings are best done when you are clearheaded and seeking to connect with your intuition. The cards help you understand what’s hidden in your mind and can provide insight into your unconscious thoughts. Tarot cards work by analyzing the pneumatic tubes in your brain. There are several reasons to get a tarot card reading, including the desire to read, create art projects, journal, or carry one around if it resonates with you. However, the cards can also be used for various purposes, such as cutting them up for art projects, gluing them into journals, or carrying one around if it resonates with you.
Is tarot card reading true?
Early French occultists claimed that tarot cards had esoteric links to ancient Egypt, the Kabbalah, Indic Tantra, or the I Ching. However, scholarly research reveals that tarot cards were invented in Italy in the early 15th century for playing games, and there is no evidence of significant use of them for divination until the late 18th century. The belief in the divinatory meaning of the cards is closely associated with a belief in their occult properties, which was propagated by prominent Protestant Christian clerics and Freemasons.
From its uptake as an instrument of divination in 18th-century France, the tarot went on to be used in hermeneutic, magical, mystical, semiotic, and psychological practices. It was used by Romani people when telling fortunes and as a Jungian psychological apparatus for tapping into “absolute knowledge in the unconscious”, a tool for archetypal analysis, and even a tool for facilitating the Jungian process of individuation.
Do tarot cards predict the future?
Tarot can help make big decisions, but it cannot predict the future. Michelle Tea suggests beginners start with a three-card reading from the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot deck. Growing up, her family often relied on tarot for tough decisions, such as discussing a brother’s breakup or deciding whether to drop out of school. The deck’s iconic Rider-Waite-Smith cards can be used to guide readers through these situations.
Is tarot ok for Christians?
The notion that tarot cards can exert control over one’s life is a pervasive one, yet there is a paucity of empirical evidence to substantiate this claim.
What is the luckiest card in the tarot?
The Wheel of Fortune card, part of the Major Arcana, is a symbol of destiny, fortune, success, elevation, luck, and felicity. It is often depicted in a six- or eight-spoked wheel, often attended by an individual dressed in an Egyptian-style headdress. In some decks, such as the AG Müller, the wheel is also attended by an individual wearing a blindfold. The wheel is not always inscribed with any lettering, but the letters T-A-R-O (clockwise) or T-O-R-A (counter clockwise) can be found aligned against four of the spokes, which can also be interpreted as R-O-T-A, the Latin word meaning “wheel”.
In some decks, such as the Waite, the wheel is inscribed with additional alchemical symbols representing the four elements: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. These emblems can also be seen on the Magician’s table in the Magician card (Card I).
Are tarot cards against Catholic religion?
Tarot cards and fortunetellers are practices that aim to discover the future, but only God knows the future. The Catholic Church teaches that God can reveal the future to prophets or saints, but a sound Christian attitude involves putting oneself in the hands of Providence and giving up unhealthy curiosity about it. The Catechism of the Catholic Church prohibits all forms of divination, including horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, omen interpretation, clairvoyance, and mediums, which conceal a desire for power over time, history, and other human beings, as well as a desire to conciliate hidden powers. These practices contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear owed to God alone.
People seeking guidance from tarot cards, Ouija boards, and fortunetellers may be dabbling in something forbidden by God, as they may open themselves up to demonic influence. The only way these practices can be “real” is if a demon works through them, giving false guidance about the future. This “real” practice is a real danger and can negatively influence us.
Can anybody read Tarot?
The tarot is a universal tool that can be read by anyone, regardless of age, profession, or background. It is not a tool that can be used in conjunction with other practices like spellcraft, astrology, crystal work, or divination. Instead, the tarot’s magic lies in its narrative power, which invites questions and self-reflection, empowering individuals to make their own decisions about their future.
The interplay between different cards can offer new perspectives, challenge old ways of thinking, or even force individuals to acknowledge hidden aspects of themselves. While the tarot can be helpful in making decisions and thinking about the future, it is not as effective as popular culture has led us to expect. The tarot’s narrative power allows for self-reflection and enables individuals to make their own decisions about their future.
In conclusion, the tarot is a universal tool that can be used by anyone, regardless of their background or profession.
Is manifesting a sin?
Manifestation is a manipulation of influence to be honored, rather than honoring God. Romans 1:21-26 offers cautionary wisdom, reminding us that those who knew God chose to resist the opportunity to honor Him, leading to darkened hearts and fools. Many people have exchanged the immortal God for images and the truth about God for a lie, serving the creature instead of the Creator. It is important to avoid serving the creature instead of the Creator and to assess cultural trends presented as Scripture. The enemy twisted Scripture to tempt Eve to eat the fruit, and this same trick is still being used today.
Should you pull a tarot card daily?
One method of establishing a practice of tarot is to pull a card each morning and record one’s thoughts and reflections on it in a journal. Additionally, touching the cards may prove advantageous. Nevertheless, a more elaborate configuration, such as an Instagram tarot spread, may offer a more visually appealing alternative. A well-executed morning tarot spread is an excellent way to commence the day with a tarot reading, instilling a sense of excitement and anticipation.
What religion do tarot cards come from?
This literature review examines the relationship between Tarot cards and New Age religion, emphasizing their function in the contemporary study of the New Age movement.

I’ve noticed that it’s mostly lazy people who envy. They think that your success was easy and required no hard work. Gosh, this is so on point. I get this all the time from dude acquaintances. Took me years to figure out. I am always thrilled when someone I know is successful and does well regardless whether they are a man or woman.
People in general can be vicious. I once watched a man in a nice suit waiting on the side of the street. Then I see an expensive Lexus dropped off to him, I was with a colleague at the time. I ask the man, “did you just purchase that car”? He said, “no. I just had it serviced.” I then praised him by stating he has fine taste in automobiles, he acknowledged that and left. My colleague then said, “I hope he chokes on it”, to which I asked why? His response, “I just hate people that think they’re better than us.” Translation: – I hate the fact he’s seemingly doing better financially than me. People just hate anyone doing well, they’ll do and say anything to bring that person down.
I have a new C8 Corvette. I have a “friend”, soon to be ex, that has told me for the last 7 months what a pos it is, how it’s useless, etc. Will text me when it’s raining and ask if I’m driving it and then type LMAO. Tells me I just drive it to get attention. He’s never once said ……. “Hey, I’m happy for you if you are happy”. He’s eat up with envy. I never let him diminish my joy. I just realize that he is the one that wallows in misery every day. Like the old saying………. Haters gonna hate !
I dropped a lot of friends who were envious of me and tried to bring me down with insults disguised as banter and talking behind my back about any little thing that they consider negative. My brother bullied me for years because he was envious of me or some reason and that passed over into adulthood until I dropped him too. Life is crazy
On an adjacent note, there’s a lot of people who pretend to be hated on because they’re delusional and want to feel important so they manufacture petty scenarios in order to prop them selves and their egos up. I see it just as much as the people who deal with run of the mill haters and snakes. A lot of people lie to them selves about having haters around them to feel important and its cringe
I have workmates who I have discovered that they envy me; even the little I have or the little I do it annoys them so much. They don’t want me to have anything, don’t want me to live a life what others may refer to as a ” good life” they simply want me to suffer it’s easy to see but my solution to them is to keep on going harder
These backhandet compliments are tricky, but if you can detect them, its enlightening. When I went from 30kg overweight sick and depressed with victim Mentality to eating clean, rockclimbing and selfdevelopement I got a Lot of that. A Lot! I had to change most of my associates. All of those who were “There for me” when I was going down, turned against me when I started getting my shit back together. But those that lost my number, started calling again.
#1. I will never forget Dagger Eyes from a “friend” – I was 55, she 59. I had never experienced anything quite like it. I glanced across a table at a social gathering to encounter the most vicious, hateful and yes, envious stare. This “friend” had aggressively pursued a socially awkward “friend” of mine I knew separately for years. These two lovelies both couldn’t stand each other when they met but then bonded in their joy of judging and trashing other people we knew. Queen Bee Dagger Eyes grabbed a Wanna Bee (my friend). It was and continues to be uncomfortable. I slowly distanced. Due to the larger social circle, I maintain a remotely friendly but wary distance. Now over 60 I have learned that this envy and social bullying stuff – at least in females – continues throughout life, at any age.
This is something I am experiencing from people I live with….when something good happens to, either they make demeaning comments, they try to somehow compete with me, they laugh so hard and rejoice when something as little doesn’t go right on my side… that’s when they have a lot to say, comment while laughing, but when something good happens to me, they will rarely give as much positive comments… The worst thing is that these are people who are family…. I made an attempt to ask them to describe me as a person, they said they don’t know how to…but they know how to gossip about my shortcomings when I’m not around…
In my experience my biggest haters were managers at dead end jobs. They wrapped themselves up in this title on a name tag and they let that become their identity. I’m not where I want to be and I surely wasn’t then but you could tell that I was different and so could they. I indirectly treated their identity as a stepping stone and it crushed them so they’d do anything to make my shift miserable which would make them look pathetic considering it’s a dead end job anyways.
Poisonous Praise. Here’s one of my personal experiences….Go8ng back some years, I was the most successful person in this company.. By far. So was my team. And I held down a few different roles at the same time . One day the managing director was praising my success to me. Then, right at the end, he added .. ” imagine that. And your father was just a bus driver”. It packed a punch. Poisonous praise….
You know, what I like about these articles is they put into words experiences I have had throughout my life. It has helped me understand who is a sail and who is an anchor. As such I have cut the chains to most of those anchors and life is improving for me, my mental health has improved, I am driven to do things to improve myself. I have to give a big thank you to all of you on here producing this stuff for men’s improvement. You really have changed my way of thinking and life.
I’d be careful labelling everyone who says that as “poisonous”. I have many friends who I know wanted to make a lot of money and when I finally suspected they may have reached that point… I wanted to praise them in that way because I know that’s what they wanted. I wasn’t jealous whatsoever. I know it’s likely my situation is just one exception to the rule but still.
I’ve known plenty of punk ass guys who do the whole back biting gossip thing. My motto is it’s always better to over react than under react with those people because they absolutely do mean you harm and they will not let up if you allow it to continue. Tell them exactly what you see them doing, how stupid it is, and that you won’t tolerate it. Then every time you hear another snide comment, immediately jump down their throat again. Make them feel like they’re on eggshells. Then they’ll be your best friend and they’ll move on to another target.
There is a guy at my work that I’ve worked with for over a decade. We’ve been friendly co workers pretty much the whole time. Recently though we been closer work friends. Over a month ago he was looking at something on his phone and I was being a little nosey. He kind of hesitatad to show me, but did because he trusts me. I learned that my coworker with the same job as me has been very busy and has accumulated 3 houses, 2 businesses and even owns a small resort in Mexico. It was incredibly humbling, and I was honest with him that he’s accomplished so much in comparison to me. It makes me feel bad to a degree because I’ve done so little in comparison, but I’m going to use him as inspiration to do more myself.
Miyamoto musashi once said: you can only fight in the way you practice…meaning that nothing is free and you pay a price for everything, if someone is lazy and doesn’t wanna effort for anything, that person can’t have great results, so if people have a nice car, or are in good shape or whatever, is the result of hard work and making the right choices in life, simple as that…
Nobody is talking about the very successful people who still hate you for being successful! Seems to me envy in the heart has no real reasoning and no limits! I guess envy is a major flaw anyone can have with no good reason to have it, except that the owner of it is just plain malicious it’s just that simple!Where there’s envy there can be NO LOVE FOR YOU!!!
1:38, I’ve done this: but I didn’t mean anything at all by it. Example a friend get his shop built, and me being proud of him thought about the perks of the money he’s going to make. So I said something alone those lines “man you’re going to make some bank! But that’s what I legitimately meant. I really and proud for his success in getting it done.
One other subtle indicator of envy is that some folks won’t acknowledge your success or achievement. They say nothing. Alain de Botton has a article on envy, and explains that it’s our peers who display the most envy; not people above or below on the totem pole of success, but peers who don’t like it if you seemingly get a step up or achieve a higher goal. When that happens, move on, let go of the relationship. People above you want you to succeed, so go there.
My sister envies my pregnancy and I’ve noticed because she keeps talking about how she wants another child but barely has time for her first child who’s 5. She keeps saying if she had a child young it won’t be a boy. I was disgusted and told her ones I have my baby I won’t be needing her help because people like this can turn evil.
That “Poisonous praise” point – I do this sometimes, not out of envy (I think), but because I’m interested in money. When a friend says they’ve started a side project I’ll often ask them how much they make from it. Thanks for the article, I’ll start keeping those thoughts to myself. I didn’t realize it appears envious
Poisonous praise is a very interesting concept, I think some could comment on the income or money you could come into and mean it in a good way, so I think you have to be careful but at the same time this is a very good point and I can see how it’s a way a person tries to say something that seems nice to try to hide how they really feel and not actually complement you. Very interesting topic.
Anyone ever experience when you are being yourself and someone is noticeably being competitive with you? I have found this to happen in classroom settings, social settings, etc. I tend to be someone who is more outspoken and comfortable in those settings, and I can tell when someone is trying too hard to be center of attention.
People are always looking to put you down. I never got why those happened, why they did that etc. But later when I think through and realize what they were doing and why. It broke my heart and I cried for a week straight. I was so sad. I grown up as a people pleaser and I cried so much realising people hate me. Why they hate ? No reason. I don’t even talk much so they bullied me. Then I felt the rage. Now I am trying to escape from all these feelings and people. It’s possible. Just don’t have any relatives and friends and cut off narcissist parents.
An advice to everyone: if someone makes a “joke” or gives you a fake compliment just agree with them. Example: If someone tells you that you look too tall/short/fat/skinny/whatever… just ignore or say something like “Ok” or “Yes, it’s true!” or even “Ahahah yes! You are so right”. That person will stop saying those things to you after some time (bc he/she understood that what they said do not hurt you).
Today I was stranded in Sedona AZ by my best friend of 20 years. She told me to figure it out after I paid for half the room me we’re staying in and she drove up here. Also I live in Texas, so I’m stranded stranded. It’s going to cost me $500 more than I anticipated spending on this trip and had to dip into savings. We will never be friends again.
I’ve noticed that people who low key may be envy of you of hateful tend to ask how much money something cost to you… For example, you invested in a business, genuine people congratulate you but envy people straight up ask how much you invested, or if you bought a new car, they asked how much it costed — like, how’s that relevant? Are you gonna give me a refund?
My manager at work seems to use a lot of poisonous praise when she asks me how I’m doing outside of work.. she knows I am studying the financial markets outside of work.. so she always asks me questions like “so when you make your billions of dollars in the financial markets one day and someone asks you what do you do for a living how are you going to respond?” And the question may seem innocent but the tone and delivery of the question while she gives it seems to carry some type of negative undertone and I knew there was something off about the way she would ask me that.. this really made it clear to me..
I had an ex friend copy everything I do. I did a nail tech course and told her about it then every time since when we talk on the phone “she’s doing her nails” all of a sudden. I told her I deleted FB and then she told me she’s going to delete hers now too 😂 She also confessed to wishing she was more like me once but also threw snide shade at me in a passive aggressive way I’m now dealing with a neighbour (female single mum) who would listen to the music I play on Bluetooth 🔊 and she would literally copy what I was listening to the same day or the next day. Bare in mind when she first moved in she didn’t have speakers and when she played her music it would be dancehall only now she copies whatever I have just listened to it’s creepy. This girl also has an attitude with me
The last thing a “friend” told me made me realize how fucked up our so called friendship is. He perfectly knows how much I love my Ducati. Guess what he told me? ….to sell it and invest the earnings in other things that I consider secondary. This is the last bad advice of a long series (not even requested) he gave me, always trying to make me renounce to what I love the most and to what I seek in life: powerful engines, a taste for excellence, beautiful and sexy women, freedom. Also I noticed that in a sneaky way he tries to imitate me, so it’s like the subtle message is “please don’t do that, I want to be the one doing it”.
Ive studied this concept genuine people will ask you in depth questions surrounding your success because their truley amazed on on how you got where you are.so examples of a genuine question would be “what was the shift in your mindset to help you along your journey ” . But people who are envious will start pocket perusal or they will ask very superficial questions that pertain to what comes with the success.
It kinda blows me away how common it is to see this. I know it’s in our nature but I really really try to make it a point to celebrate peoples successes, admire & respect their good qualities and also grieve when they grieve. Try to feel what they feel and be there for them, either directly or indirectly. Of course nobody’s perfect but I feel I have gotten pretty good over the years. I mean it’s just self-destructive to be jealous, envious, and to celebrate other peoples bad experiences. I think it’s very very WEAK
It looks like a facial expression that conveys skepticism. It could be anything meaningless honestly and they may make a comment similar to the follow up you mention. The most obvious is a when a man who is needy feels like he is not getting the attention he needs and he makes some random comment that is intended to deflate you but under the guise of humor or praise as you mentioned. It’s the fastest way to tell a weak man you don’t really know.
1:40 I got a promotion at work and my mother in law said that the new cat we got was good luck and why I got the promotion. “Right, because something called hard work and recognition do not exist” 😂 Also, that glare is very settle. You will catch is right either mid way or after you’ve been in the spotlight.
This intelligence he’s referring too has a flip side. The fact is most people without enough aren’t good, and if you become an expert at finding these faults you’ll eventually have a reason not too see anyone. knowing less is better some Times. Depression and its million names is also a VICTIM OF THIS…ITS LIKE VYTOUR STAR SIGN, EVERYONE CAN RELATE TOO ALL 12 IF THEM
i gave dude a place to lay his head when his family was homeless, yet he happily showed my entire highschool a vid of me crashing my first car (at my lowest) he recently poisonous praised the m3 i bought by mentioning nothing but the price, 1 day earlier i was setup to be robbed while with him and two guys i never met. I remember after getting away from robbery attempt untouched, stop at the gas station to cool off they chat about girls at the after party to each other, asked about one girl specifically (rando guy 1) giggles. They were in on it. dont let it get that far like i did. envy kills…
There is a pseudo alpha male I work with and this article helped me understand why he is the way he is. He lives in an apartment he hates with his brother, drives a car he wants to replace, while giving mean comments to other coworkers who live in nice houses and drive better looking cars. Every time he discovered a female coworker he likes already has a boyfriend he says to me “Her boyfriend is ugly.” One Sunday I went to a coworkers house to smoke a whole 18 lb gator because he had a smoker and when pseudo alpha male found out about it the following Monday he jealously said, “so he is your buddy and I’m not.” Heaven forbid you want to smoke a gator you go to someone who has a smoker. He also told me not to buy the exotic meats I’ve always wanted to buy and to delay hunting and fishing trips until I’m close to retirement, and what I find hilarious is when he said “Don’t listen to Cooper, listen to me. ” Now I know what his problem is. Extreme envy.
The poison praise one about money over hard work I don’t think really applies. Most people are not gonna have any clue about your business or even care. However, they all understand if a business is doing well it is making money. That seems more likely on why they would comment about money over anything else
Yes, indeed, they focus on and mention a whole different thing during a conversation that they are envious about. I once applied for a scholarship, but I did not get it. When I told my “friend” that I did not receive the scholarship and gave her the reason the organization disqualified me for, which was because they deemed I had earned enough money in recent years and was, thus, above their threshold of eligibility, she said, “I’m glad you’re financially stable.” How would she know that I was financially stable at that time? Why was she saying that? I knew she hadn’t worked in years and is most likely not financially stable. Only an envious person would put emphasis on a part they dissected and pulled from between the lines which wasn’t even up for debate.
I wish I could tell my long story about a situation with a brother in law after a big project i finished that he said he would help certify but never has followed through on.. Never complimented me on it and never helped get it certified after i told him over and over i was ready for him to do his part.. Too long of a story to type but i really wish i knew for sure because i hate accusing someone of jealousy when you cant 100% prove it..
Watching this sort of opened up my perspective. Not only are there people that envy me but I may also be behaving in ways that comes off envious. I’m not entirely sure if I directly envy some of these people per se I’m going to need a little more self-reflection but definitely behaving in a manner that comes off like this.
I get the WORSE jealousy from bankers. I’ve become successful at a young age and I get a lot of hostility. My financial advisor cursed me out, accused me of seducing his secretary. I had to fire him. I’m discovering it’s VERY HARD to have friends. The only friends I’ve kept are ones who don’t know about my success
At this rate you could tell no one cause jealousy does not discriminate it can be friends family spouse i heard some say their own children how ever me on the other hand i love hearing people’s great news its like a testimony to me of whats possible to bad its not a lot of like hearted and minded people like that cause you like to share show and tell discuss inspire be inspired motivated vice versa but people in this world seems jealous and envious as hell make you wonder whats going on
*This is actually in the bible: “Speak into existence things that are not, as if they were…”* Beloved child, I see the pain and the hurt that you carry within your heart. I see the tears that you have shed, and I am moved with compassion for you. I want to heal your broken heart and to bind up all your wounds. I want to restore the joy of your salvation and to give you a garment of praise, instead of a spirit of despair. I want to comfort you and bring you peace in the midst of your storms. I understand the struggles and the challenges that you face in this life. I know the temptations and the trials that you endure… I will never leave you nor forsake you. I am your refuge and your strength: an ever-present help in times of trouble. I want you to know that I have great plans for your life. I want to use you to touch the lives of others, to bring healing and hope to the brokenhearted, and to set the captives free. I want to use you to bring light into the darkness, and to be a beacon of hope to a lost and dying world. My child, I want you to know that My love for you is unconditional and unchanging. I want you to know that you are My beloved child, and that I delight in you. I want you to know that you are precious in My sight, and that you are more valuable to Me than the finest gold and the most precious jewels… I want you to know that I rejoice over you with singing. I want you to know that I am always with you, and that I will never leave you nor forsake you. I want you to know that I am your constant companion, and that I will guide you and direct your steps.
I’ll admit, I’m the guy who would mention the ‘I bet your making a lot of money’. However, I wouldn’t be doing it from a mindset of contention, but genuine praise. I see making money as a good thing. I’ll have to watch myself from now on. I didn’t realize what I say in a situation such as that could be interpreted negatively
If your success is well-earned and you don’t have any reason to have feeling of guilt that God/life/universe did you an undue favor, then things like dagger eyes, poisonous praise, seasaw effect shouldn’t bother you. The only practical thing that could harm you is backbiting because that could charge the atmosphere against you. But most ‘successful’ people have this internal feeling of guilt that Fortuna favored them by snatching the success from others. The reason might be their karma, God’s plan etc. Not every ‘dagger eye’ is a sign of envy. An unjustified success acts like fluke and can rightly unsettle people. These fortunate people should show some humility instead of bragging about their fake success. Shouldn’t we have a sense of justice? Shouldn’t we aspire to a world where there is some correlation between hardwork/performance and success? Do we really need lucky devils around us?
Envious people piss me off. I usually confront them face to face about it. What I usually tell them is “Maybe if you spend more time working hard on what you’re doing and stop worrying about what I’m doing you wouldnt have to be envious. Make sure to tell them when they are alone. Otherwise they usualy will have a fellow roach or 2 who will back them up and try to pile on you. When you confront them you can see in their face they are shocked and humiliated (as they should be). Ignoring it will only make the envy grow. It has to be confronted or it will get out of hand. After they usually become aware of what they are doing and usually find another person to try and bring down because it lets them know that you see them for what they are and as a bous they get angry that you had the guts to tell them to their dumb face. A poisonous person like that is fearful of the charade they put on being lifted and being exposed for the envious backbiter they are to others. Once they know you see them they will get worried you will tell others so they will watch their behavior around you.
Thought I saw you on ROGAN maybe. 👈🏻💯cool. 1:45 Oooh. That’s a good one to cover. The back handed comment. You build an awesome set of stairs. Footing, all cement, brick front. The guy says, you might make a killing on that at least? 😂❤I know, you must be making awesome money. Instead of “Wow, that’s amazing! You’re getting to live your dream job! Let’s celebrate with a lunch on me. 😎👈🏻💯curious, do you ever see direct trolling over here? As in, the comment doesn’t even make sense? It looks past so much just to stretch out an argument? ❤😂
I would have never even DREAMED that something like this even existed….. until you see it, and it becomes plainly obvious who your friends are. I just recently purchased my first exotic car….. and I have 4 close friends. Friends 1 and 2; “Awesome man, beautiful car, congrats!” Friends 3 and 4; “LOL… it’s ugly…. you should give it to me and get a different one”….. and “Are you going to get matching shoes to match your car? LOL”. Friends 1 and 2 are both hard working and successful, like me. Friends 3 and 4 are in their 40s (also like me), but still struggling paycheck to paycheck. It’s another form of envy/jealousy I call “negging”. In other words, you get poked fun of, in a back-handed “friendly” manner. Absolutely 100% true story. “Haters” never hate downward….. they only hate up. Remember that. It will serve you well, when determining who your real friends are.
Most just talk about how if you have haters ignore them and bla bla. But nobody ever talks about the great hate and paranoia your haters trigger inside of you for envious people. I live my life and am ambitious etc. But WOW in order to NOT be sabotaged I always have to watch out and prepare in advance. I am constantly in a state war as soon as I suspect something. I developed obsessive paranoia and hate towards them.
I once worked at a supermarket and was ‘friends’ with the security guard. He would high 5 me etc when I came to work and we had banter while we worked. He was fat and was married to a 2, but always thought he could chat up the female staff. Around christmas time, they would always have temp staff. He took a liking to almost all of the females, but one in particular. 19, cute, nice body and as we were working the same shift, got talking and I started dating her. This was one of the first times I noticed dagger eyes, from him. But it was just a few seconds then he’d snap out of it and act cool. A few weeks later, I get pulled into the office and suspended. He had went to the manager and said that I’d sold alcohol to a minor (false) when I should have asked for ID. His word against mine and the store had a zero toleranace approach to underage sales, I threw my badge at them during the follow up as they were siding with him (no CCTV footage) told them to dust it off and stick it up their ass. Saw the security guard on the way out who tried to say hello and told him if he didn’t have kids I’d have arranged for him to be in a wheelchair for the rest of his life. The same guy would say things like ‘lucky b*stard’ or ‘must be nice’ whenever I shared my W’s with him, bascially jealous of everything I did.
I came to think why are people jealous reflecting on my time in high school. One is that peers would shoot me down for mistakes that anybody else is privy and pick at anything they can tear my self esteem down with. Some people hated that I had a far greater vocabulary than them so one classmate repeated things I would say but treat me like dirt. I’m wondering why would someone hate you for just using words they don’t know. I’m not going out of my way to sound smart but do they just want to believe that?
Jealousy and envy are extreemly childish, bitch ass emotions that should have been dealt with when one was 5-6 years old. Its disgusting and sad to see “grown adults” act that way… Unbecoming of a grown man. Improve yourself, compete with yourself to be better than you were the day before. Never envy or be jealous of others or what they have. Work for your own.
I had a friend who I eventually figured out was pathologically envious. He spent years plotting against me. He had a skulking way about him. Everything was done by plotting and scheming. He was essentially a yellow belly coward. It was strange because he was highly achieved, had a Trade and a University degree. But I worked out it wasn’t just me that he felt envious towards. His biggest target of envy was his younger brother who was easy going, friendly and good looking. His younger brother lost his virginity to a gorgeous cousin who was turned on by finding out he was a virgin. That is taboo busting on its own, but my former friend was driven to great envy by this. I was told much later on that he hit on another lady cousin when we were all at the pub one night, obviously in a bid to compete with said younger brother. I was not privy to this, but I was told the girl cousin freaked out and there was much damage control performed that night. I have told him by letter that I figured out all the secret motives and jealousy on his part but alas no reply. Guess he figures continued secrecy is the way to go. So many demons perched on his shoulders.
Thank you for your article. I’m a really dense person, so forgive me, but I really don’t understand the difference between poisonous praise and a backhanded compliment. Can someone please explain the nuance? I get that saying that “you must be making a ton of money” is a way of subtly mischaracterizing your motivations as greedy and self-serving, rather than focusing on the principles/values of your business…but I still don’t see how its not just a backhanded compliment? Is it poisonous because it makes you question your own character and throw you off focus? Or is it poisonous because it makes other people associate you with bad things, thus chipping away at your reputation?
Idk. When someone always tells me how successful they are. Or talk about themselves like they’re better than you. What else am I supposed to say? lol. I’m tired of listening to them. I’m not jealous, I’m tired of their self righteousness. Not all successful people do that. Just like not all people who say what you say mean they’re jealous. Some people are annoying. Successful or not.
What about the people that listen to your success and make comments comparing themselves saying it they had done it before or they know somebody that does it better than you and in that comparison they make themselves feel better. I had a friend that took me some time to realized what was she doing all the time. Until I ghost out from her. I can’t believe an adult will behave like that. It remind me to some girls in 4th grade.
I have a jealous obsessed fan, that’s been chasing my spotlight for years, clout chaser, the biggest one,i have a few lol this bit does nothing but try to bring me down to his level instead of leveling up to mine,I’m not going down floors for no loser,my advice to anyone dealing with someone that’s forcing competition when they don’t have any with you, don’t compete with them, that’s going down to their level, that’s exactly what they want.
I might just be fucking autistic but I just don’t get envy. I don’t get it. When I see someone reap the fruits of his labor I feel happy for them. The only negative thing I could think of would be something along the lines of a businessman tricking someone out of their life savings. But that wouldn’t be envy, I’d just think they’re a piece of shit
i was recently at a Super Bowl gathering and came across something so bizarre. One of the people there whom i never met prior was immediately acting what i can only describe as envious of me. There were females around and it would appear to me anyway that we was either preventing me from talking to said females or didnt want me near them. He did something i have never seen before, when one of the females were walking away to the kitchen and it happened to be just him and i at the table, he waited until the female was out of earshot, but said in a very clear and loud enough voice so that i can hear, but not loud enough so the female could hear “Hey babe, can you get me a beer”. After hearing this i had to assume that they were a couple as they had arrived together. But hours later i realized they were not a couple because this weirdo said he had a early morning and had to go home but that female did not leave with him and stayed around and i confirmed by asking her if they were together, in which she answered No. But this guy prevented me from flirting and socializing with this girl by fooling me in to thinking they were a couple for the first few hours there. And its almost a perfect crime because it becomes a matter of “he said, she said” so he can just as easily deny saying that if i ever bring it up because it was in fact just us at this particular table at the time. It worked well because obviously i wouldnt try to hit on a girl who i think is there with her boyfriend. But this guy had no skin in the game, he himself wasnt ever going to get this girl but felt the need to make sure noone else gets her either.
But also, this knowledge, its like body language info. You shouldn’t take it at face value. It requires background to sharpen your perspective. For example, his take of “thats great, when are you gonna buy us all…” is the perfect scenario. Before you choose feeling over logic, think about who this person is, where are they coming from, what is the subject matter, is it small talking humour etc. ‘The angle you choose is the filter you use’ when it comes to perspective. Intention can be obvious as a punch in the face or as covert as a vaccine. Think before you speak, speak before you act, act accordingly.
It bothers me so much my ex and his family are copying me and perusal me it bothers me so much because they didn’t acknowledge me they didn’t have no life before I came around helping hoping to be accepted if I give I never received I am single on my own and they watch my pages I had to delete and the stuff I did they now do after they would judge me I get so mad when I think about it but what do I do ?
My neighbours sons are super jealous of my home. Since i came here they upgraded n mines still looks better😂 I call them Adam & Steve and their mommy puppa johnny because she looks like a dude all the way! Maybe thats why she started late?? When i was growing up the guys were all around us so i never had those prblms..
More importantly use Rich’s cues to measure yourself to make sure you aren’t envious of those better than you financially. The world is rough and mean. As Jordan Peterson said, “the world is against you . . . obviously.” But as I told my own subscribers, many times the greatest enemy in life can be yourself. And you make yourself an enemy by comparision to others. If you make 80K a year and have 200K in the investment arenas you will feel badly if you have a friend who makes 250K and has a million in his. But you will feel good about yourself if you compare yourself to someone who makes 30K and has nothing in his accounts. But maybe that 250K person works 80 hours a week and hasn’t had a vacation in ten years. The point is, your journey is yours. How much you want to work and gain to get the greatest benefits you can from your short time on earth—and most of those benefits, my friends, are not financial. Hope this helps someone—-Charles
I am so fucked up, my best friend for more than 10 years started doing this, every time I talk about a project, an accomplishment, or even something I like, it always ends up with me feeling bad, it made no sense, I found myself rationalizing him as a “blunt guy”, but no, it makes no sense, why would I enter into a convo with my best friend motivated and happy and leave sad and hopeless… What do I do, I mean I know what I have to do but shit, 10+ plus years man
Sometimes it’s hard, because it’s ok for a friend who saw you start out with nothing and make it into a success, and to happy that now you have money and can have the life you dreamed about when you were a kid, proud of your financial success. It’s about their intention isn’t it ? Or Maybe I’m naive. Money is just a tool.

many people around me,, when they see people who make a lot they always throw their enviness instead looking for what those people did and analysed how those people make a lot.. I make enough from selling products in marketplace and social media.. They really forgot that their 200$ android phone can make them money if they use that gadget properly.. I always do villain smile seeing people like that look how lazy and stupid they are..those kind of people givee chills..
How do you stop this from happening in a group when one person tries to discredit you and starts gossiping about you in a group and tries to turn the group against you? Also how can one get out of debt? I appear like I’m very well off because I was but then Through health and income loss financial difficulty happened how to get out of the hole when people are simultaneously viewing you as something to envy and as a target on a pedestal?
Thank you, again. Another thing, they like to give compliments like “you have good energy” but are not specific with the fruits of your labor. Like it says in the Bible, you can tell by their fruits. Simple, ask them “how are you?” And later watch how they cut you off later in conversation. I studied Psychology back in San Francisco State, and to tell you the truth, guys gossip more than females these days.
I don’t think I have ever been jenuinely envious of anyone. Im not always the first to praise others but when I see someone doing better than me, I tend to be harder on myself for not doing as well. Im not sure if that’s healthy or not but it’s never caused me any real problems with myself or with others. Where I have been turned to the dark side is when another person brags about himself or shows off or comes across as arrogant. To me there is nothing a person can do that makes himself look weaker or like less of a man than one of those three actions. I can get along with anyone from any demographic but if one of those qualities gets thrown out there (even if it’s not against me), the war is on and I can never respect that person again. Im sure some shrink somewhere would say that’s a flaw in my carachter but hey…. I ove a good fight, especially if Im defending someone else. That being said, one would think those 4 signs of yours would be from the younger crowd but Iv’e actually been the target of that kind of envy in my 40’s and 50’s. Sometimes even from memberss of my own family. Im not rich and never will be. I would consider myself middle class, I’ve worked hard and feel thankful for what the world has thrown my way. Most of it revolves around my current situation. I have remained single, raised my son as a single parent, put myself through college, had a solid career and retirred at 42. Like I said, Im not rich, just secure and happy. The jelousy comes from people whao have made more money than me and are still working themselves to death, have no freedom and see no light at the end of the tunnel.
I don’t know about the second example you used. That’s kind of dangerous. I am very money minded, so if I see one of my friends do a big project, you better believe I’m going to congratulate them on all the money that they’re about to make! Money absolutely buys happiness and definitely can make a lot of problems go away. I want that for my friends and family!
I’ve experienced all of this, from the person I work for. I was surprised, when I found out my triple threat mother, was so envious of me, she was trying to put me in whatever situation she could, to make me fail. She had more going for her, than I did. She just made some choices, that didn’t work out for her, that she wanted me to spend the rest of my life fixing. Definitely a narcissistic parent. One important thing to note is that people can be jealous or envious of you, not simply because of what you do, have it how you look. But perception of these things. Yeah, they don’t even have to be real. But, this is especially so, when someone won’t look inside themselves. Far easier for them to target, attack and undermine someone else.
A partner envying a cake i made yesterday!!!…never said its great but i caught him enjoying It and talking to himself how good It Is(in my absence) After i served him a piece… i did’nt Say not ask anything neither talked about It,am Just waiting for things to unfold… Today he did’nt eat It and It was there the whole day infront of him. Is this possible? Because am dumbfounded!
I hope my friend doesn’t mistake me being happy for him as envy. I genuinely love em and, like seeing him be successful. I sometimes distance from him because I know he’s busy and has a kid. He invited me to the wedding but, my nature always has me worrying about people and their feelings. I love my friends and family and have sometimes noticed my words can be misunderstood even when I’m trying to love them. 😔
Y’all what about the jealous weirdos who still won’t stop & leave you alone after they have managed to make you give up on your dreams that they seem to want a reward for? What do you do about people who do not just stalk to “keep an eye on you” because they need to know your next moves for one up purposes but they also want to taunt you about invading your privacy 24/7 like they just have to be relevant in your life & never forgotten as the dead? Real life advice how do you really make them go away & should I really put my pride to the side & just start going to the police & filing restraining orders since they are adamant about playing a nasty game? They are doing this indirectly for whatever reason but still dumb enough to leave behind an obvious trail so would you suggest reacting to the situation for what it really is & seek precautions to protect myself rightfully in the eyes of the law? Do you think prison is worth making an example out of the easily accessible flying monkeys who pretend like they know not what they do? What do you do when you have become numb & just straight up uninterested in the bs yet they mistake it for tolerance while ignoring the calm before the storm? These are the real topics that need to be discussed. Nobody cares about someone being jealous & why ✌🏽
I don’t disagree with what your saying, but Jealousy is a normal human emotion.i get jealous sometimes, but I don’t bring anyone down, make snide comments or let my jealousy make me a bad person.its how some people deal with jealousy that’s a problem, yeah I’ve got a friend who makes snide comments to me and about others.im giving him one more chance, then going no contact.
I seem to be getting a lot of internal downloads and these AHs. I completely missed all blatant hits and just couldn’t believe it. A year ago I finished the El Camino De Santiago and focused my time on sending good thoughts to a cousin w cancer. My way of supporting! She was eventually cured through lots of help and self care. My sister in law responded to me “no good deed goes unpunished.” I’ve never forgotten this and stopped all communication. This was one of a myriad of shit shows from her! Ty Good opportunity to release…
I’ve heard this poisonous praise my whole life. I called it passive aggressive bcuz that’s the only term I could relate it to. Example: “hi, I just bought gifts for 8 homeless foster teenagers for Christmas” and the response, “oh, I’m sure that made you feel really good” – 😮😂 yea, it did but … poisonous!
From my experience: it manifests in times when they let condescending comments fly, seemingly from out of nowhere. Usually, I would be left thinking “WTF did I ever do to you?” I was surrounded by the types my entire life. Not because I think I’m anything great, but I ‘ve always been one to go about my business, do my own things, work on myself and get my shit done. In my 50’s now, I have cut 90 % of the people (shit) I’ve known out of my life. I don’t have to deal with it anymore.
Envy= They want want you have OR they dont want you to have what you have. This can mean your income, home, car, holidays, your personality, your looks, your clothes and even your knowledge. If you are envied, you will always be a threat (90% of the time without knowing until its too late). Highly competitive people making interactions a “game”..nothing genuine there. Dangerously low self esteem kicks in- allows foolish behaviour whilst feeling zero shame. Imagine feeling like this on a daily basis? Like flaying yourself alive.
I don’t have any money, I don’t own anything to speak of, I live in what I consider the best little cabin in the area on 10 leased acres, I mind my own business, a loner. At an AA meeting I mentioned my hobby turning wood bowls and stuff. Almost immediately several guys and two girls wanted to copy me, girls failed, one very wealthy guy bought a wood lathe and said at a meeting. “If Mark can do it, so can I.” He’s made other disparaging comments aimed at me. This is my only source of income after SS. Why do these people do this? Just two days ago another guy approached me and asked if he could watch me, ie, have me teach him what I know, he’s an artist in his own right. I’m learning about human nature and it isn’t very flattering.
I think something that people like you that make these types of articles tend to never mention being mindful sometimes of some of these people that can be jealous. Like for instance, if I know someone that has failed quite a bit in their life as they try to be successful in anything I try to be mindful and not rub it on their faces. I don’t really care. I’ll downplay my successes around these people because I have been in their shoes, so I don’t go and say oh I’ve received accolades for my successes and this and that and awards etc. I just kinda downplay a little bit because it can be difficult for these people to hear that.
Yikes. I’m struggling with envy…My friends have it all. They get to travel to European countries during the summer. I’ve never traveled outside the USA before. One of my besties is going to Italy and Turkey in two weeks. It’s going to be hard to support her “trip success” while she’s away. I don’t think I can even look at her Instagram
Toxic praise (true story) that goes something like this… “Hey I was looking on YouTube and there are a ton of articles about the new car you just got. Pretty cool and interesting; but it is still not the car for me.” Why he had to throw in the part at the end was so typical of this person. When I told him that I was going to win or thought I could win a particular bike race; he says, oh I think you will do good. Just hardly even acknowledging what I said and not agreeing with me that I could win, but trying to give me a comment that will put doubt in my mind. A toxic sibling rivalry situation that has been going on for decades. I hardly even initially realized what he was doing, what was happening because I am nothing like him and treat people with kindness and respect a lot more so than he does. My eyes are wide open now! Just took a while.
Sometimes people refer to you as envious or jalous just cause you critic them too harshly i hear that so many times maybe i am wrong but people become so much arrogant After fame or success and they start think that everything they Saïd is right and everything the other said IS wrong liké i hear that from a famous person he Saïd im not gonna listen to the person who think himself Always right and he forget that not listening is another form of thinking that you are always right when your success give you wings and you start thinking people are stupid because they walk and you refuse to listen ill critic you and teach you humblness again and you can call me whatever you want especially when i Know that people will get hurt from your advice Liké i hear the président of poland Saïd im not gonna let refugees get in and hé let them die at the borders and then lie to the media by saying i send them back and hide the fact that some of them had been died from hanger and cold he didnt let them in but he let in the behaviour of thé tyrannical one who create them by copying him and he is so full of himself by doing it thats why i critic i dont critic because you are successful i critic you because you start developp some pride Telling truth thèse days become an act of envy and jaleousy
I don’t know what an English major would say, or even Websters Dictionary, but in my mind I’ve always distinguished between “envy” and “jealousy”… Jealousy to me is negative…you want something that someone else has…success, money, winning personality, smarts…it could be anything. Worse, you want to take it away from them, see that person fail. If you can’t have it, no one can. Very ugly. “Envy” by contrast can be a motivating force…something positive. You covet something another person has…again, it could be anything. The difference is that you want to replicate that in your own life. Not take it away from someone so you can have it. So you use that to drive yourself…work harder, try new things, try to improve, get better educated, make changes, set goals… So be envious…but not jealous…
So please someone tell me about people who are there when you are down and out but once you get up they get mad?! I don’t understand and I want only white women to answer this because someone I thought was a supportive in law has just literally looked down on me as a Black woman for just getting my dream job. I’m very young and she’s way older.
Non-constructive unsolicited advice or instruction. Basically they’re being condescending in a way to make themselves feel better in the moment while simultaneously convincing themselves that they’re being helpful despite their lack of knowledge or wisdom or ability to actually help themselves let alone you.
