The Mystics, an American rock and roll group, originated in Brooklyn, New York, in the late 1950s. I remember the case of Essie Dunbar who was presumed dead. Her sister arrived late to visit her sister and begged to have the casket opened after her burial so she could see her sister for the last time. When the casket was retrieved and opened, Essie was alive and smiling at her when they opened the lid. She was not in the ground for very long as the story goes and she lived on for another 40 years.

What a fortunate coincidence. The one time someone accidentally gets buried alive is also the first time ‘scientists’ place a camera within the coffin to document the decomp process. Vincent is one lucky guy. Except – I’d avoid that hospital in future mate; they can’t seem to tell the difference between dead and asleep.
Individuals don’t have a lot of time if they’re trapped in a sealed casket or coffin and buried underground. There are a lot of variables regarding how long a person could survive, including height, weight and the volume of the casket. In general, a person would only survive in such a situation for about 4 to 5.5 hrs. Even if Law Enforcement was contacted immediately, by the time it would take to talk to a detective, secure and serve a warrant, get a large back hoe out there, dig up the casket and open the seal, most people would already be deceased. Surviving for 4-5 hrs doesn’t mean that a person would be conscious and breathing normally up until that time. A person would be in a huge panic after realizing that they were buried alive. Most individuals would bang on the inside of their casket lid and scream for help for as long and as loud as they’re able, using up precious oxygen more quickly. A person would also become unconscious from low oxygen before eventually passing because there’s not enough air left

Actually no they don’t. Embalming is recommended if the body is going to be on display for a number of days before it is buried or cremated, but isn’t required. Many places now provide a natural burial, where the body can be wrapped in a shroud or other wrapping. It depends upon the laws where the body is located.
If this really happened it is unbelievable, the question is did she only intended to give him enough sleeping pills to make him fall asleep or did she intend to kill him. And just one more thing, if he was just asleep from the sleeping pills and not dead how in the hell did they pronounced him dead, wouldn’t he have had a pulse. How did they not confirmed he was dead. It is possible she did not intend to kill him but when they took him to the hospital it was the doctors who pronounced him dead. If so then what was her crime, giving someone some drugs to induce sleep without their knowledge. What would be the crime they could charge her with. What would be the fair sentence for that crime, if the doctors at that hospital weren’t so incompetent and did a more thorough examination all of this could have been avoided you think. When they pronounced him dead she panicked and just didn’t wanted to go to prison for murder. Damn exactly how long was he asleep from those sleeping pills, it had to be several days from the time he was pronounced dead to the day of the funeral.
If this was back in the early part of the last century or prior, I could believe it because this actually did happen more often than one may think…it’s why they used to attach a string to the index finger of the deceased before burial and attach it to a bell that would ring if the “deceased” woke up and moved their fingers and/or hands, hence the term, “dead ringer.” Just know that these things really did used to happen.

Doctors can access your entire medical history they would have known that those were fake medical reports as soon as they saw them, because it would not have been in his medical history as well as the so called heart medication because all of that is relevant to their reports. Digging with my hands, as the dirt poured in, filling up my case. Next thing you know, Air! My lungs filled with air! Gasoline and diesel filled air… I could see the stars sparkling in the night sky. Not a cloud in sight. A wild rabbit hopped over and greeted me with wonder. Our eyes locked. He looked into the very depths of my soul, as if to know all my sorrows, all life’s joys and troubles, and for the first time ever in my entire life, a real, true, loving friendship ignited. At that moment, I picked him up and carried him home. We lived happily ever after, after that. An amazing experience that I’ll never forget.
When my great grandmother was a little girl in the 1800s a school friend died and as the mourners and class of friends walked behind the carriage to the church a couple of the school children at the front heard knocking and crying coming from the coffin they stopped immediately and opened the coffin the little girl was alive and lifted from her coffin unfortunately thats all i know of this true story.

I worked at a funeral home. Bodies are kept “refrigerated” basically before they’re embalmed. If you can survive being stored for several days at refrigerator temperatures, then, by golly, I’m sure you’ll survive the chemical load of embalming and being buried alive in a sealed coffin. So I believe this story. Oh, yes, indeedy, I do. Hurrah for Vincent, etc, etc.
I’m glad he got her arrested. But there are some things that are confusing. If an autopsy would have happened, he would surely be dead. And if he was buried by her, he would surely be dead by now. By her stopping the autopsy and not burying him and giving his body for research, she kind 9f saved him from her own murderous intentions. Now one also needs to wonder if she and her mother also did the same thing to his father.

Totally bogus story. They would have picked up his breathing, heartbeat, brainwaves at the hospital. Before the mortician drained all his bodily fluids and pumped in embalming fluid. And locked him in a freezer for several days. And the oxygen in the casket would have run out ten minutes after it was covered with six feet of dirt.
Wow! that is some messed up stuff. I cannot even imagine how horrifying being buried alive would be. I mean waking up in a dark coffin 6ft underground! Instant panic attack. She deserves to be in prison for life with no possibility of parole. As far as I am concerned it was not attempted murder it was actual premeditated murder, he was pronounced dead and even buried!
None of this happened. Vincent was totally against being an organ donor BUT, Sis gave his body to science, with no resistence from any family members? I’ve NEVER EVER been able to understand how people who are already dead have been inbomed frozen in a coffin and all of a sudden comes back to life. There’s a process a dead body goes through like being cut open organs removed…etc… etc how can a body come to life after all that? Make it make sense PLEEEEASE!!!!?
Bollox! So just how long was he ‘dead’ or should that be sleeping? And just how long was he buried alive? No drug can knock someone out for that long AND render them totally lifeless. Medical staff go through set procedures before they declare death so I take it this guy’s eyes were dilated, wasn’t breathing, had no heart beat, had no pulse. Oh and another thing his body temperature would have dropped to cold. Which leads me to unless they kept him in a bed or something isn’t standard procedure to put corpses in a mortuary? Isn’t the temperature in these places close to 0C? And after all that he is put in a coffin and buried and the camera isn’t turned on until 7pm THEN they go to the police, who have to review the footage, then have to arrange to exhume him, finally do it! So he’s been in that casket for a number of hours at least. The mathematicians will correct/help me with this one but I’m assuming the volume of oxygen in a restricted coffin is not going to last that long. Now how much volume of air would be available inside a coffin, after substracting the volume of the dead body? How much time until a sleeping or unconscious person’s breathing would increase the CO2 concentration inside the coffin to about 5% where this concentration will become toxic for the brain, leading the respiratory center to stop working? Hint: it’s only minutes, not hours or days. And there will still be around 15% of Oxygen inside the coffin when this happens.
If they want it believable, they need to post the full names of course…however I doubt this story highly…no real pics or names…. Many people are not aware like I am about the ability to skip embalming, autopsy and yes you can request immediate burial. You do not need to be embalmed if the funeral home has refrigeration and YES you can request IMMEDIATE BURIAL AND NO EMBALMING because the coroner told me this himself. This said, you also do not need to do an autopsy with proper health records. I know this first hand because I handled my Mother in Laws arrangements myself! I did not have her embalmed, she did not have an autopsy and was cremated per her wishes or we could have had her buried…so doubters check the laws in your country or state for what authorities require. I am in Washington State, USA.

They didn’t embalm him? That’s what I found odd . Thank God they didn’t…but just curious as to WHY they didn’t. They actually came up with embalming as people would be declared dead and were maybe in semi comas with very low heart rates..Some were dug up for autopsies (maybe after they were buried, evidence came up where it could have been murder) and they would find that the person ws buried alive. Their finger nail would be all bloodied and broken from trying to scratch their way out.
Wouldn’t it be unlikely that there was enough oxygen in that coffin to survive long enough to be dug up? Especially since they waited till 7PM to look at the camera before exhumation took place. Also take into consideration that the man was panicking and using building up even more carbon dioxide faster.

Unless Vincent was a Muslim I doubt very much that he would have been buried quite as fast. Also, I know for definite that any deceased person going to be cremated has to have been signed off by at least 3 separate qualified individuals before the process of cremation can legally commence. So, I imagine that there must be similarly stringent laws surrounding those who have requested to be buried. Otherwise not a bad story, but I am not buying it.

You do know this is all BS ..after death the body is Prepared before the body is placed in a coffin the blood is drained and the body is filled with Embalming chemicals they are a variety of preservatives, sanitising and disinfectant agents, and additives used in modern embalming to temporarily prevent decomposition and restore a natural appearance for viewing a body after death….

They victim must not have a pulse and must be declared factually pronounced brain dead. You don’t need to be a doctor to know this fact that unconscious and being dead are two different things. He may have been unconscious but his heart was still beating. So, how come doctors confirmed that he was dead. Nobody comes to life after being dead for that long. The narration is not authentic and changes in the tone of voice at some points depicting the speaker’s emotions is also not very professional. My conclusion – utter BS.
This is possible, I remember when my mother use to tell me about what my great great grandmother use to tell her when she was a little girl. She said her grand mother said never let them bury her because she would have spells were she would pass out and not come too for days and she is not dead but very much alive. But just watch over her body so they wouldn’t bury her alive and my mother said she would wake up in a few days like she said. So I would say it’s possible.
Hmmmm this story is going around with slightly different stories. All of which are far fetched. If you die suddenly a post mortem is required. Some stories state it was a man others say it was a woman who died. One says artifacts, others say diamonds the sister was after, other say the sister didn’t kill him/her others say she did. Some say the scientists dug up the grave, others say they went straight to the police. Regardless of the different situations they are fake.
to the non believers, a doctor also signs a death certificate when a person dies at a hospital and then is transferred to a morgue. They do not check vitals at funeral homes and how many people have “Woke up” in coffins……. It does happen, and can, not all believe in embalming nor do you have too! When my mother passed away, she was cremated and I was asked if I wanted her embalmed and as mom and I talked about this before death I paid to have it done. A forsure way no one was waking up in the ground!
