Shakey Graves: Is She A Mystic?

Shakey Graves, an American musician and actor from Austin, Texas, has been creating haunting melodies with his Americana musical blend for over a decade. His latest release, Roll the Bones X, showcases the origin of his beautiful, haunting melodies. His music, particularly Under the Hood, is characterized by mysticism and spiritual quest.

Graves has signed to Nashville label Dualtone Records, which has taken platinum. He performs solo under the stage name Shakey Graves, creating sparse folk music punctuated by a makeshift kickdrum. He describes his songs as three types: ones he sits down to write, some he wakes up singing, and others that are like.

Graves talks about how songs rejected for a film score led to his latest record. He believes in the soul and spiritual illness, and sometimes feels like he is writing the story of a man. He also believes in spiritual illness and believes in the soul.
