The Process Of Opening A Tight Magic Bullet Lid?

To open a stuck NutriBullet lid, follow these steps:

  1. Unplug the unit and turn it upside down with the cup still attached. Tap the top of the cup gently on the ground a few times while twisting the cup counter-clockwise. The cup should pop right out.

  2. Heat the lid with hot water. Use a small flat tip screwdriver to turn the cup to ensure the lip is directly under the actuator, place the screwdriver beside the actuator, and pry the cup away from it. Soak the Nutribullet cup in hot and cold water.

  3. Follow these steps to open a stuck NutriBullet lid:

  4. Unplug the unit. For safety, always start by ensuring that the lid is properly aligned and tightened before blending.

  5. Use a tea towel to wrap around the base, hold on tight to the cup, and twist like your life depended on it. The hot water should expand the base a little and make it easier to unscrew.

  6. Hold the pan handle with one hand (use a pot holder), grasp the lid handle, and pull upwards to release the lid.

  7. Turn the unit upside down and tap the top of the cup gently on the ground.

  8. Run the unit under cold water for 60 seconds. This will help the jar expand and contract.

  9. Use a towel or glove to slap it against the counter to make a difference in temperature. Put the jar in the jar and use a rubber band to secure it in place.

In summary, following these steps can help you open a stuck NutriBullet lid, allowing you to continue making delicious smoothies without any issues.

  • IT WORKED!!! 🤩😛😇 One month! That’s how long I’ve been trying to open my NutriBullet. I’d try, and then put it back in the fridge. I’ve been under so much stress. I guess that’s why I hadn’t thought about looking here on YouTube before now. Your instructions worked!!! Oh, Hallelujah! I had to do it three times AND then I took a butter knife and GENTLY inserted it in the gap between the cup and the lid in places all around. I could hear (and smell!) that fermented air softly escaping. After that, I tried to open it. It worked!!! After a thorough cleaning, which included a SERIOUS apple cider vinegar bath, I have made my first smoothie in 2022. Thanks to you, I didn’t have to replace these machine parts – which was NOT in my budget!!! God Bless You, God Bless You, and your precious family!!! 🖐🏾👋🏾👌🏿

  • Hey dude, I rage-fully struggled with opening my smoothie lid for over a half hour, hitting it with a hammer, using pliers and banging it against the counter until I was ready to just break it open like a piggybank but I watched your article and did the method only to be shocked at how easily it popped open. Thanks for posting this. It was very helpful. I appreciate it man. 👍

  • Tried it 3 times but it’s still not working 😔 I don’t know what to do now. I think maybe I’ll keep it in the fridge overnight and hope it contracts. Edit: in case anyone else faces my situation, I got too impatient keeping it in the fridge overnight so I decided to boil it instead. Literally. I put a pot of water on the stove and dipped in the lid side as it boiled for about 20s (oven mits needed). It opened immediately but with a little explosion of some of the contents. Nothing serious, just a few drops but the pressure will probably worsen if boiled for longer). Anyway, my blender cup is opened now. Yaaay

  • I have the ninja that is a similar size and shape he’s holding in the article. Today is the 1st day it was stuck, I was scared it was going to burst with the pressure and the blade was going to fly. I used hot water slightly boiling and then dropped it in water with ice. The lid came off so smoothly. I wouldn’t leave it in the hot water too long I would say 50 seconds is all it needs. Thank you!

  • Thank you for the article. I’ll advise all to be careful especially if the content has already begun fermenting, it can become explosive. That’s what happened when I tried(i lost my cup but saved the lid). It could be safer to try in an open space than indoor. or perhaps cover with anything that can prevent it from scattering all around. Hope this helps.

  • It worked!! I did it a bit differently – I submerged the lid in hot water for about 30 seconds (as you instructed) than held it under the cold running water. Dried it, gripped tightly and turned and it came loose. I almost threw it out, but thought I’d check YouTube first. Thank you!! Problems aren’t unique to one person at all. 😁

  • I HAD THE SAME ISSUE WITH MY MAGIC BULLET, SO THANKS. HOWEVER, I WAS THINKING ABOUT IT AFTER I DID THIS…WOULDN’T IT MAKE MORE SENSE TO DO THE COLD FIRST AND THEN THE HEAT? COLD THINGS CONSTRICT, HOT THINGS EXPAND. SO WOULDN’T IT WORK BETTER IF YOU DID THE EXPANSION STEP LAST, TO GIVE MORE ROOM FOR THE CAP TO BUDGE?

  • DO NOT DO USE THIS METHOD! This was a dangerous, disaster. When we put our Ninja smoothie/blender in the hot water for less than 20 seconds, it blow the plastic cup into the air like a small explosion. Smoothie went ALL OVER the kitchen. Fortunately, my wife nor I were injured but, this could’ve gone terribly bad.

  • I guess the laws of physics on your stove do not exist on mine. I followed everything exactly this morning, and the lid is still stuck. I tried giving it a good turn and peeled off a layer of my skin. I will be throwing it in the garbage, and sticking with my good old fashioned blender. I’ve been dealing with this every so often which is something I no longer want to deal with.

  • Didn’t work. I tried it over 5 times. I tried leaving it in boiling hot water for 5 minutes and putting it in cold water after that in my last attempt. I’m now going to put pan with water in the freezer for an hour and try again. Wish me luck. Edit: after letting it sit for a while, my dad tried to open it up again. He managed to open it slightly but not fully. I left it in boiling water again for 2 minutes and I was able to open it up fully. Finally! I’ve been struggling with this since yesterday and have been trying to open it for literal hours!
