The Manipura Chakra, also known as the navel or solar plexus chakra, is the third primary energy center in the human body. It is located between the navel and the solar plexus, and is associated with the natural element of fire. The color yellow symbolizes fire and the sun, and it is directly linked to our sense of self. The Manipura Chakra is the junction of Prana and Apana Vayu, and is the core of our personality and ego.
The Solar Plexus Chakra, also known as the Navel Chakra, is the power center and governs our personal power, will, and autonomy. When spinning properly, the chakra allows energy to flow, but if it becomes blocked or clogged, you may find yourself feeling powerless, stagnant, or quick to anger. The Manipūra Chakra is the “City of Jewels” in which we find pearls of clarity, wisdom, self-confidence, and wellbeing. Their lustre radiates down to the lower Chakras as well.
The Manipura Chakra spreads the fire element in the body, bringing energy, warmth, and light. It is also the energy center of the samana, and it works as an energy transformer that converts and supplies the body with cosmic energy (Prāna) absorbed with our food. On the physical level, the Manipura Chakra governs the fire element inside of you, including strength, vitality, ego, willpower, stamina, and inner power.
The Manipura Chakra is shown as having ten petals, bearing the Sanskrit letters ḍa, ḍha, ṇa, ta, tha, da, dha, na, pa, and pha. The seed sound in the center is ram. It rules our personal power, will, and autonomy, as well as our metabolism. It is responsible for digestion and assimilation of food, and when vital and balanced, digestion improves, body warmth increases, and feelings of willpower, determination, and ego are experienced.
In summary, the Manipura Chakra is a vital and regenerative center that controls our energy balance, influencing our sense of self, personal power, and transformation. By understanding its characteristics, signs, and symptoms, individuals can better manage their energy and overall well-being.
