What is the difference between Disney Magic and Disney Dream cruise?

In 2014, Don and his wife embarked on a 4-night Disney Magic cruise to the Bahamas, followed by a 7-night Disney Wonder cruise to Alaska, and another 4-night Bahamian cruise on the Disney Dream. They were excited to see the reimagined Disney Magic and the classic Disney Wonder, which were the first Disney Cruise Line ships. Both ships have 875 staterooms, with a maximum capacity of 2, 400 passengers. The Disney Dream and Fantasy are newer and larger, with two decks taller than the Magic and Wonder, with 1, 250 staterooms.

All Disney cruise ships share common features such as no casinos, great childcare, character appearances, and a kid-friendly crew. However, they were curious about significant differences beyond the décor and if they would have a preference for one ship over another.

The Disney Magic, the oldest ship in the fleet, underwent a complete “reimagining” in 2013, including more adjoining staterooms and more verandahs with removable dividers. Other improvements include taller bed frames and regular hairdryers, which were easier to manage than the old built-in hairdryers on the Wonder.

How much does a 7 day Disney cruise cost in 2024?

Disney Magic cruises in 2024 will offer inside rooms starting at $732 per person for a 3-night Bahamian Cruise, $1, 144 for a 5-night Western Caribbean Cruise, and $1523 for a 7-night Southern Caribbean Cruise. Cabin prices vary by cabin type, with an interior cabin starting at around $700 per person for a 4-night cruise. For example, a 4-night Bahamian Cruise from Fort Lauderdale in July 2024 would cost around $2, 500 per person.

What age is best for a Disney cruise?

Disney Cruises are best for children aged three to 10, as they generally enjoy the Disney elements the most. However, if your teens still love Disney, they’ll be happy on the ship. The kids love their independence on the ships, as they can leave for ice cream, snacks, movies, or exploration. It’s hard to get lost or into trouble on board.

The kids clubs run from ages 3-12 for the Oceaneer Club, 11-14 for Edge, and 15-17 for Vibe. The kids clubs are most enjoyable between the ages of four and eight. However, kids at the top of those age ranges may not enjoy the clubs as much, as most of the others will be younger. If your kids love kids clubs, they may be happy at any age, but keep in mind that most of the others will be younger.

  • Fantastic article! 🎥 Your comprehensive guide to Disney Cruise Line in 2024 is exactly what I needed. The breakdown of inclusions and additional costs is spot-on, and the tips on dining and entertainment are invaluable. It’s clear you’ve done your homework and genuinely care about helping viewers have a magical cruise experience. Well done!

  • My family has done a Disney Cruise and loved it, it’s not just for kids, it’s for us big kids too as they do not forget mums and dads when providing their entertainment. One thing I will mention that I don’t think you covered and apologies if you did. I would strongly recommend booking your children into their respective kid club categories prior to the cruise to ensure they have a spot allocated to them. We did and upon first entry to the club they checked every one off and turned some non registered families away until a spot became available. Just food for thought
