Witchery is a Minecraft mod that incorporates witchcraft forms and adds its own power system, Altar power, Infusion power, and vampire blood. This power system comes in multiple flavors, including Voodoo, Circle Magic, Symbol Magic, Conjurations, and Mutations. Witchery allows players to perform rituals, brew special potions, collect fumes, and learn to control the magic present in the world.
The main disciplines of Witchery include Voodoo, Circle Magic, Symbol Magic, Conjurations, and Mutations. Players can create magical trees like Mandrake, Belladonna, Snowbells, and Water Artichokes, and then use the Witche’s Oven and Cauldron to gather Mutandis for magical trees like Rowan, Alder, and Hawthorn.
To start with Witchery, players need a Witches Cauldron, a Witches oven, 3 fume funnels, a kettle, a distillery, and an Altar. The Witches Oven is used to create various Fumes from Witchery, which are necessary in the future.
In this Minecraft mod tutorial series, players should aim to get a Witches Oven and clay jars to start. This mod is complex and not for the faint of heart, so starting out should aim to get a Witches Oven and clay jars.
In addition to the Witches Oven, players can also create various other potions, such as the Candlelabra, Wither Skull, Filled Chalice, and Torch. By following these steps, players can gain experience in Witchery and develop their skills in the world of witchcraft.

Do you wanna know how much help you give me? Awhile back, I was obsessed with the Witchery mod, it was the coolest thing since sliced bread for me. But I lost interest, as I do most things, and moved on. But yesterday, I realized the modpack my cousin and I were using to play with each other HAD Witchery, but I couldn’t for the life of me, remember how the Witchery mod worked. So, I went hunting. Refinding your articles is my favorite thing and I will always be thankful for the time and effort you put in these.
Bro it is legit 2020 and I am playing an oldish mod pack and i wanted to get into this mod, I am so thankful for these articles and they are very underrated. If after 5 years you see this i want you to know i am thankful for it and you did a great job man. Have a good day to you, and anyone who reads this. Gosh this was great.
I’m playing witchery:resurrected demo on 1.12.2 and damn was it a sight for sore eyes. No other mod can compare to it and these tutorials brought back memories. First time I found the mod was thru a mod pack called attack of the b team, back when I was in junior high (7th grade). I’m a college student now. Definitely hopping on my computer to play like old times when I get home 🤣
It seems that if you have a mod that lets you right click to harvest crops it doesn’t spawn the mandrakes unless you hit the plant, which is unfortunate because you don’t get to deal with the fun bit of killing the mandrake, but also just sort of convenient so you don’t have to remember ear muffs every time you need mandrake.
Playing thru the Regrowth HQM which has Witchery as one of the included mods, and boy I’m glad I just found out you have a tutorial series on this mod! For those that not played Regrowth, I strongly recommend it! It’s based on 1.7.10, so it’s maybe a bit old, but it’s so nicely put together. It goes deep into Botania, which I haven’t used much before, and I find this quite an relaxing pack. Don’t get my wrong, you will get killed, and there’s a bit of a grind, but it’s a fun grind … sort of. There’s no mining for resources, because there’s no ores to mine. So how do you get ores? The answer is Botania. BTW, that Treant thing … yeah I found that out by accident! I’m glad they can’t climb fences and that they don’t like fire weapons. But thanks again, Valen, you makes the best tutorials! 🙏
Awesome article! One of my favourite mods, playing it on FTB Mage Quest at the moment. But even though it has a HQM book that sort of acts as a how-to on magic mods, i decided to skip ahead a little using your series. On mandrakes, or rather the roots you need to kill; Invisibility also works. If the mandrakes dont know you are there their screams wont give you the nausea effect. I was pleasantly suprised to discover that in a recent harvest where i had forgotten to become visible (I was wearing an amulet, but the effect seems to be vanilla invisibility, just infinite time) Hope that helps also.
Hey I saw you were still replying to comments on this article, I was hoping you could answer a question I have. I cannot for the life of me find anointing paste when I type it into the item search bar thingy and I have no idea how to make the transformed cauldron without it? It doesn’t even have a ‘witches cauldron’ when I search for it
You should get a Knapsack, it would really help with inventory manage. Oh, and if you think the Sojourner’s Sash is nice, try upgrading it to a Globethrottler’s (or however it is spelled), it gets even better (and is fairly cheap now that you got the Elfenheim stuff) 😛 And also, you should use another ring instead of the Magnetism one, because it will be mostly an annoyance for most of what you do. I recommend getting a Ring of Far Reach, the extra interaction distance is reeeeealy nice
If I remember correctly, there’s a chain item in this pack which shouldn’t block access or bounce items like the iron bars. It might work for you as an aesthetic feature, though I think that having such an exposed fire might be part of the trouble. Order shouldn’t matter for the kettle, but it absolutely does for the cauldron. Still, they will accept anything at all whether or not there’s a proper recipe involving it. The wispy cotton seems to just be really rare in this pack. I really hate having to collect it, but that’s just the way the questing goes, isn’t it?
