Was The Dallas Mascot For Roy Ray Moore?

Rowdy, the official mascot of the Dallas Cowboys, has been named by David Higginbotham since 1996. He has been the team’s ambassador since then and is responsible for creating game day enthusiasm at AT&T Stadium. Rudy Ray Moore, born in 1927 in Arkansas, was an American comedian, singer, actor, and film producer. Moore is best known for creating and portraying the character Dolemite, a pimp from the 1975 film “Dolemite”. In his florid, foul-mouthed monologues, Moore would take on the character and reimagine black American folkloric stories.

Rowdy’s standup comedy, records, and movies, particularly his 1975 film “Dolemite”, related earthy tales that helped shape today’s hip-hop. The Californian Club, where Moore debuted and developed the character of Dolemite, was among the most crucial locations.

Rowdy’s career began in Cleveland and continued to grow, eventually becoming the official mascot of the Dallas Cowboys. His role as the Ambassador of the Dallas Cowboys includes creating game day enthusiasm at AT&T Stadium.

Rowdy’s legacy extends beyond music, comedy, and film, with his influence on a generation of black artists. Eddie Murphy plays the character in the movie “Dolemite Is My Name”, leaving a lasting legacy on the worlds of music, comedy, and film.

  • The fact that Killian Hayes got a 3 game suspension and Mo Wagner got 2 games is simply atrocious! A hip check, although unsportsmanlike, is in no way, shape, or form even comparable to striking someone whose back is turned and arms pinned in the back of the head! I love basketball and the NBA but the punishment ≠ crime here!

  • At 0:16, “Don’t noooobody moooove!! Noooooooobody mooove!! Staaaay in youuuuur seats!!! DOOO NOT MOOOOVE from your seats!! Everybody CHILL OUT!! Let them handle it down on the floor!! Staaaay in youuuuur seats!!” At 1:11, “They got this on the floor; let it stay on the floor, YOU stay in your seat. Thank you.”

  • From what I’ve seen from a basketball perspective, both players were simply trying to hustle for the ball and Mo Wagner inadvertently pushed Hayes. That was a dangerous play and he was wrong for that. Wagner looked like he was trying to apologize. Diallo pushed Wagner from behind which might have rocked Wagner a little bit cuz I saw the whiplash. Hayes shouldn’t have thrown a punch at all. It looked really bad because a punch was thrown. The minute you do that that’s automatic suspension. He should have just shoved him back. It wouldn’t have been so bad they would have just been ejected from the game. Now Hayes is gonna be suspended. And also they usually say that if any of the players leave the bench they also get suspended but that’s mostly the entire team that just went over there so I don’t know what’s going to happen there. Both players were wrong at the end of the day. Remember what happened during the Knicks and nuggets fight a few years ago?

  • The fact announcers have to continually tell people at NBA games to stay in their seats after players get into scuffles is insane to me and just shows the low quality of people actually attending these games… I get it’s in detroit and they had the whole situation with the pacers back in the day but to feel the need to do this is crazy to me, put boards around like hockey then if you feel like people are actually going to step in between what’s going on on the court. And it’s sad and shows the people going to NBA games might not have that great of class. If announcers or the league feels the need to continually address it…..

  • This new NBA is TERRIBLE as far as the rebuilding team’s after JAMES,CURRY,GREEN,KLAY,CP3,KD,LUKA,KYRIE,EMBID,BEAL, BAM LEONARD,GEORGE, MITCHELL, BROWN, LILLARD, GIANNIS, DAVIS, SHAI,JOKIC,MURRAY,BOOKER,HARDEN,WESTBROOK,DEMAR, SABONIS,BUTLER, BAM,EDWARDS,ANTHONY TOWNS,FOX,YOUNG Its over for the NBA ⁵ years from now The New Wnba let that sink in 🫡

  • I agree Elizabeth,I just watched this clip. To me,it does not matter whether or not Wagner pushed the Pistons player toward the bench. What does matter is that the NBA is too light on punishments with some of these players. Wagner,ya,there was a bit of a push, but that did not look at all egregious from what I could tell. Hayes should have had to pay a million dollar fine, and miss at least 15 games,or even more. This is what the NBA needs to do. Not suspend some of these players for 2 or 3 games(does not do a single thing unfortunately). When they have to miss a dozen games or more, and pay a million or two of their own pockets, they might think twice before hitting someone in the head. The NBA has become a joke, and this is one of the many reasons why I refuse to watch anymore.

  • As a rugby league player I would have done the same. If I didn’t you would have been the one eating the floor that hip check is like a shoulder check. He added more force with made the other dude go into the seats. Haynes slightly puts his hand on his back to slow down. Wrong move that’s a instant reaction from me when moving full speed ahead and someone comes up the side of me.

  • The classic “You did what? I’LL KILL YOU” overreaction that’s all too typical in street fighters, thugs, gang members, bar fight seeking bullies and all those other “sucker punchers”. Morally bankrupt, no self control, high temper, no sense of environment…classic to a sad degree! Buddy, if Mo wanted to harm you here, he’d be doing more than that little push so maybe learn to be a grown up until next time
