What A God Akkhan Set The Amulet Of Hellfire?

The Akkhan set dungeon for Crusaders is a required step to finish the Masters of the Universe Conquest. Players can craft the Hellfire Amulet, a craftable legendary item in Diablo III, by purchasing the recipe from Squirt the Peddler in Act 2. The amulet comes in three pieces and can be equipped with Norvald’s Fervor Set or Blade of Prophecy-Frydehr’s Wrath. Bracers, Belt, Amulet, and Rings can also be equipped with any legendary item.

To craft the Hellfire Amulet, players need 50 thousand gold, 10 forgotten souls, and all four crafting materials. They can also use the Boon of Bul-Kathos Passive to trigger explosions. The Armor of Akkhan set provides 50 damage reduction, 1,500 damage increase, and reduces the cooldown of Akarat’s Champion to just a few seconds.

The Akkhan set is a Crusader class set in Diablo III with seven pieces, named after Akkhan, the founder of the Crusaders. This build mainly revolves around overwhelming enemies with the Condemn, using judgment Judgment and phalanx Phalanx together. The guide provides tips, build, gear, and Kanai’s Cube suggestions for this challenging set dungeon.

In summary, the Akkhan set dungeon for Crusaders is a challenging quest that requires players to craft the Hellfire Amulet, equip it with special materials, and play a solo push build based on Condemn and Phalanx.

  • Hey Rhykker! Thanks for making the article! I was very excited to see this when I saw the title! In the beginning of the article you mentioned that pure Invoker does the job just as well, if not better. By this, did you mean full 6 piece Invoker set and wearing it all? May be a redundant question but I wanted to get your clarification. And what would you say the differences are between pure Invoker and hybrid Invoker/Akkhan? Invoker Crusader’s got a special place in my heart as it is the first character I made after years of absence from the game! Thank you in advance!

  • Hi Rhykker, thx first for this Guide… i try ill out atm on the Liveserver, it works atm in the Grifts. My question is how long u need on the Endboss? Sometimes i got extrem power to kill big groups in seconds, and sometimes comes 0 dmg, mostley time i combinate provoke with Iron Skin together, this give´s the boost. Atm i got no all Items in Ancient and i have finished Grift 68. Im working for it to coming up. My problem wat i got is the Endboss it needs a bit too long time to kill him. With the Full Invokerset got it with huge attackspeed and burstdmg with Ironskin. Do you play on live server this build or another 1? Mostley ppl in the Rankings playing with LoN… but LoN is a bit Boring ^^ and your Guide was a new one for trying this out. Only the Attackspeed is a bit low.

  • Hey Rhykker, Been following you for a while but would like to ask a possibly noob question. At one point in the vid (00:03:20) you flash up an Akarat’s Awakening that has Perfect stats. Is this purely for illustrative purposes or do you have a method for perfecting pieces of equipment? Surely statistically, even with unlimited resources, the chances of re-rolling something up in the cube even with all but one perfect stat must be infinitesimally small?! Keep up your extremely good work!

  • thornsader starts with 87% block chance and after I do my primary attack which is punish-celerity, I reach 100% block chance. to tell you more, crusaders are the ONLY class that can actually IGNORE that 75% max block chance. 75% block chance only applies to other classes than sader. can some confirm this I copy it from a different article

  • Other than perma akkarat’s, is there a plus to use this build over straight invoker? and how does removal of Heart of Iron affect thorns and clear speed? Currently, I have a decent Iron Maiden full thorns. I dont use bombs, and am testing what I personally like better for belt. String of ears, witching hour, punish belt, slash belt. My sheet block chance is 80+% and not using hold your ground…using devine fortress for higher armor. Either way, I tried this build, and did alright, but the main problem I have with it, and jsut like the full thornsader, it is boring…sooooo boring. Also, with the added armor, I am not dying NEARLY as much and tend to go with Fire champion or haste champion…adds a little bit of flare cuz things melt faster. Thoughts?

  • Hey Rhykker, if you use the rune Reflective Skin from the defensive skill Iron Skin you CAN deal crit damage (guess as physical damage because of the rune, wich makes Heart Slaughter a good option?), making the emerald in a weapon a good option too. Plus, if you have the 2 set bonus from Roland’s set, you can mantein Iron Skin almost every time. About the equipment I’m not sure, i think a 2 handed weapon plus a shield is better so you can have more strength since thorns damage is related with the primery attribute. Also, Demon’s skin set may provide more thorns damage and with a Royal of Grandeur ring in Kanai’s Cube you can take the best of the three sets (Invokers, Rolands and Demon). I hope you can take my opinion in count and try it!! Thanks for your articles!

  • I have a question rhykker, should i follow your article guide or your guide on diablofans? I have pretty much every item required but in the written guide you use 4 piece bonus of akkhan and 4 piece of invoker set. But isnt it better to use a 6 piece of akkhan and 2 piece of invoker, as you already have mentioned in your article Hope to get an answer soon

  • Do we think this will be any stronger than the LON Bomb build? Originally crusaders started with the punish thorns build until they got enough ancients to switch to the LON Bomb build. This build has people doing 90s also…but does this build have more potential to go higher or is it just more tanky?

  • Rhykker, so the main mechanic of this build is to replace the Invokers 6pc effect “800% thorns dealt to single target” with only 100% from Hack and use 7.4x damage increase (assuming Akkhan’s set bonus and AC +35% bonus are multiplicative) to ALL thorns damage instead so that all surrounding enemies die quicker?

  • My gear is not the best but I have just acquired all pieces shown and have started trying this build. Block rate on AA shield rolled max (so at 31) Total block is 97 atm. with more than half of the gear ancient. I am doing all skills to the letter though.. I am really starting to struggle once I reach GR 64+ Do I have too much tank and not enough cooldown? (Tank: 217,000,000) CDR only 10 (Hack) Or do I just suck?

  • This article has some inaccurate information. Rhykker, you should review the stickied post on the Crusader subreddit for various thorns interactions relevant to the build. reddit.com/r/Diablo3Crusaders/comments/41psfg/invoker_interactions/ For example, real block rate is NOT capped at 75%. The tooltip is not accurate, or perhaps only means a soft cap from blue text on gear. There is a article in the link showing close to 100% of attacks being blocked. Also, you did not mention the importance of area damage on gear. You should not emphasize thorns over area damage. Of course, ideally, you will want both.

  • I tested this build and I don’t think this article is real (I dont know what exactly build in this article and skill combo or anything @@ ), some points was preposterous. This build may not reach to Gr 80 (even 75) 1. In article, paragon level of this character is 683 (01:05). With this low level paragon and HP of final boss, I guess this GR was around 67-70. My char have 647 paragon and could not reach to GR 65 2. With this gear, even you have a great block chance, you could not survive with GR 80 -85 mobs. You don’t have any damage reduction except “Aquila Cuirass”. Btw, i think the problem of Akkhan Set is: this Set has not Damage Reduction option. 3. And about damage. When you meet the single target you will get problem with Cooldown to keep “Akarat’s Champion” up. This is the reason why Akkhan Set still dead in 2.4.0. But thanks for the article. I think Blizzard will rework this Akkhan Set or change some options.

  • invoker’s spam punish is the definition of the most utterly boring build in the history of d3. If you want to do gr80/90+ with inv and /or akkhan have at least 200 keys for fishing and add +6′ for the RG. Trove is useless as is bombardment w/o lon you only need ad and ias since you dont have 6p bonus from invk. Witching hour, hellcat, string of ears and shield glare are better.

  • Hey Rhykker, thanks for the time and effort you put into these vids. Couple things I want to add from my hours of playing this build this season (with some mods which I’ll discuss below): 1. When getting started with this set, do not waste excess materials trying to get Slanderer or Little Rogue right off the bat. Upgrade 1H Mighty Weapons until you get the Bul-Kathos set. Once you get those, you can farm the rest much easier. Additional, BK set is much more forgiving and overall better for low GR speeds. 2. After you finally get Istvan set, use excess materials to upgrade them to Ancient if possible, preferably with decent rolls, before switching over. Keep the BKs to continue farming and doing bounties, and even after you switch for good keep them to build Fury to full before running a GR and swap to Slanderer/LR right before popping the key. 3. This is IMPORTANT. Get a Band of Might. If it’s got good rolls, save for use. If not, or you have a better RoRG, cube it. I’ll discuss why in the next point. 4. This is MEGA IMPORTANT. If you are low Paragon and using non-Ancient pieces (as many will be) or badly rolled pieces as placeholders, do NOT use CoE or Ancient Spear when pushing past 80 initially. You will get destroyed, you WILL get discouraged. This build as listed does not have the necessary toughness to tackle higher GRs without things like high Taeguk gem level, resist-all augments, or Paragon without some sort of toughness buff. Which we’ll cover next… 5. Switch Ancient Spear out for Ground Stomp (reduced CD rune or the pull in one if your CDR is good) and use BoM/RoRG for ring/cube combo, or vice versa if you get lucky on RORG.

  • GG for the article, still at higher Gr’s, enemies will 1 shot you, so is hard to survive without the band of might, the rampage will have no continuity because of the high hp of the enemies. Still is a great and fun build to play and i am very happy it has the well deserved attention for a barb set. You’re doing a great job, keep up the good work Rhykker !

  • I switched out the convention of elements ring for a skull grasp ring (primal ancient version), and i also changed the ancient spear for war cry, also I changed the flavor of time for a hellfire ruin that gives me fury generation an my 5th passive ability. With all these changes I did to your build rhykker, it does a lot more damage then the original build you made in article. However it has just a tiny bit less defense/armor which makes us a bit more squishy, but the damage is actually balancing out the missing tiny bit of defense. Thank you very much for your build, I share with you my version, please try and lemme know

  • Hej Rhykker awesome content. I was wondering, how much worse is it to run focus and restraint and put band of might and zodiac in cube? since we have that extra cube slot. its a constant 100% dmg increase, sounds like better then crimson and CoE. My noob math tells me its more dmg/equal dmg, dpending on belt rolls and cdr roll. also its alot more dmg reduction? I am hardcore, so personal i considered to run crim and skip coe and run band.

  • Rhykker I’m still trying to accumulate the right pieces. I took your advice on the RoRG and Crimson Set + 5 Waste pieces. What is your thought about adding in Traveler’s Pledge + Compass Rose set since this build is “always moving”? seems like a real win for while trying to accumulate the “perfect” Whirlrend BIS gear. I realize it’s not a great add for DPS but when you have to manually apply those rends it should apply as standing still. Prob not the best setup long term but while trying to survive for the part where trying to accumulate those pieces and push rifts.

  • Just to make sure I’m understanding this properly. Stat priority is in order of the gear stats listed on D3Planner? I’m lacking a lot of toughness and other vital stats and cant seem to get them improved much. (All ancient gear, obviously not BiS/perfect rolls) PS: Love the vids Rhykker!! very helpful! Liked and sub’ed

  • Theres a few really good versions of this so people should play around. I like In-geom+ambo with the furnace in the cube. Focus+restraint rings and nemesis instead…you can get 63.44CDR, In-geom with this cdr lets you spam furious charge to reach the next elite pack or pylon to chain more elites. Molten gizzard is a great gem also for this build in higher grs. Lots of viable items though with whirlrend, makes it fun for gearing

  • I’m running a different flavor of this one. Wearing Lamentation, 5 pieces of Wastes, RoRG, Mantel of websiteing, and Aquilla is the cube. Replaced Bane of the Stricken with Wildebeast Gizzard, Band of Might instead of Convention of the Elements, and the Bull-Kathos weapon set instead of Slanderer and Rogue. Keep Wrath up, spam stomp, but otherwise just hold down Whirlwind for the entire rift. Its far easier to manage, and isn’t such a glass cannon.

  • I haven’t dug through the patch notes yet to find if this has changed, but I got a Ring of Royal Grandeur from an Act 4 bounty chest. I don’t know if this is a bug/fluke, or if it has actually been changed. I just thought I would point it out, as in your build articles that detail using it, you always note that it only comes from Act 1.

  • Hi there, i’m completely new to the game and I’m a little confused on the build, possibly because I play on console. Rend and whirlwind are both on my R2 button (both being secondary abilities). Am I missing something? Is the build still viable on console? Some advice would really be appreciated. Cheers

  • I use band of might instead of convention of elements with ground stomp with ignore pain instead of the spear I have no idea how I could survive without it I admit I don’t have little rogue set I use ancient frenzy hammer + the sword you cubbed and I cubbed in geom for cd reduction is there any use to that ?

  • Rykker plz Answer me My barb is full geared with the set and other items, cube is the same, and i can do GR 80 But I keep dying in one shoot !!! No joke, the reason i keep living is cause i am good at dodging / avoiding projectiles and casts, but once i am hit, its 100% a one shoot . What am i doing wrong here ?

  • I see nobody above 138 GR and none using crimsons. so say take out granduer for bad of might, then say put on lamentation for higher toughness, put the belt on but what belt in middle of the cube, or was that a brain fart? I see nobody using crims at 138? So what are you missing, hence mean I’m missing?

  • I hate that weapon set. With Bul-Kathos I can just hold right click and spin to win without any worry about Fury. With these, you are constantly fury starved unless you’re actually fighting things, meaning on some of those maps where the first few seconds have no enemies you suddenly have no fury when you get to them.

  • Rhykker, Does damage type in the weapons matter (PHY/Cold/etc..)? I play on console XB1 in Season 21. I worked hard to get Rouge and Slanderer ancient with just high damage (physical) vs cold or Holy which they often roll. I’ve got 10% dmg + max CDR… After GR 115+ it seems like it takes forever to kill trash and elites.. I’m stuck on GR120 with 1265 Paragon.. All but 3 pieces are augmented 100-115 gems).

  • Is it me or the build feels slow? I mean, even with 100% uptime on Zerker I feel like it takes forever to navigate. I have every single pieces mentioned, not perfectly rolled of course, but it does not change anything since there’s no +movement speed anywhere. Did I missed the obvious here ? I remember a WW build that was lightning fast back several seasons. Maybe I was expecting too much. The build is still fun but when I’m doing stuff with my DH GoD buddies, I’m always lagging way behind and it kinda sucks :/

  • Rhykker i need some help my guy i cannot figure out the reason im getting completely slammed at t14 im getting 1 shot by anything and everything. The only thing i am missing from this build (to my knowledge) is the zodiac ring. Im a returning player from many years ago and would just like some help thank. 🙂

  • Does anyone know why I get 1 shot like crazy with this build? Only doing gr80 and the normal mobs 1 shot me constantly. I have the exact gear from the build. Once i get going with ignore pane and wrath i can mostly survive but its quite annoying at the beginning and randomly throughout getting 1 banged.

  • I really like your guides and they surely are a nice starting point, but there is a huge problem. They are always meant for SC mode. Letting aside my inability to understand why someone with a stable internet connection would play SC over HC, I really dislike the fact that you dismiss HC like “oh, if you play HC take nerves of steel and that’s it” because it’s not. This build in order to work in HC needs a lot of tweaking and adjustment. I did succeed, I’m currently around rank #500 in the leaderboard, and trying to rise up, can’t play all day, so the build is solid but if I played it just like it is presented I would have died within a few hours. I’d argue that HC really needs well made builds, more than SC does, because permadeath. In SC you die and you respawn. If you have a bad build you could still clear a GR, you could die a few times and still complete it within the time limit. In HC a single death gets your character deleted along with all the stuff equipped. Why not make builds thought for HC and then say stuff like “if you play SC you can be more loose on this or that”. I think this approach would be very helpful and cover the game better.

  • The biggest problem deals with still doing simple core Diablo 3—meaning you have no fear of actual death. You respawn and therefor have NO real loss. You can continue doing a GR until you complete it…then claim “I did a 100+”—HC Seasonal is completely different and takes a different style of play…THAT is the biggest difference in play. All these players are focusing on a core build and the game benefits those who are unable or unwilling to play HC seasonal.

  • How the hell are you supposed to play with this shit? you can`t stay still and take dmg to take resource that way when pushing, you get one-shotted everytime. I need something else for resource this aint enough, I can barely use my skills like this even when there are mobs. This build just seem dumb, if you die that early you will only lose time
