What Divination’S Ruinous State?

Fehu ᚠ, meaning “cattle”, represents abundance and wealth. The term “rune”, derived from the Old Norse word “rún”, meaning “secret” or “mystery”, reflects the profound and sacred nature of these symbols. Rune casting is an oracular divination method where stone or wooden runes are tossed onto a cloth, board, or other flat surface. The position of the runes relative to each other and the caster provides insight.

Runes are an ancient alphabet that originated in Germanic and Scandinavian countries and are used in magic and divination by many Pagans following a Norse or Heathen-based path. They are an ancient form of oracle used by those seeking advice and have a long history dating back to ancient use by Germanic and Nordic tribes. Rune stones, essentially an ancient form of oracle cards, are used by Germanic and Nordic tribes.

Runes historically served purposes of magic, from the earliest epigraphic evidence of the Roman to the Germanic Iron Age. Reading runes is one of the most popular methods of Mancy (Divination). There are different kinds of rune stones depending on the chosen alphabet.

Runes can be seen as a simple 24-character alphabet, but they hold deeper meanings. They are used as a method of connecting to one’s higher self, inner guidance, and tapping into intuition for foretelling what the future may hold. A guide to Futhark rune symbols and meanings can help learn their origin, meanings, and usage as a divination tool or in rituals.

📹 Rune reading: How to do divination with the runes || THE RUNES #6

It’s finally here: The first video on how to read the runes! Many of you said they’re impatiently waiting on a video on rune divination …

When were runes used for divination?

The earliest reference to runes and runic divination may be found in Roman Senator Tacitus’ ethnographic Germania, dating from around 98 CE. Tacitus describes the Germanic peoples as using a divination practice involving rune-like inscriptions. They have the highest regard for divination and casting lots, which are uniform procedures: breaking off a fruit tree branch into strips, marking them with signs, and throwing them on a white cloth.

A state priest or family father prays to the gods, and three separate strips are picked up and read their meaning. If the lots forbid an enterprise, no further consultation is possible, and if they allow it, further confirmation by divination is required.

Runic inscriptions from 150-550 AD are described as “Period I”, generally in Elder Futhark, but the set of letter shapes and bindrunes employed is far from standardized. The j, s, and ŋ runes undergo considerable modifications, while others, such as p and ï, remain unattested before the first full futhark row on the Kylver Stone (c. 400 AD).

What are runes used for?

The earliest known use of runes, which are symbols used for a variety of purposes including writing, fortune-telling, spell casting, and protection, was by the early Germanic tribes in northern Europe. However, the Scandinavians subsequently adopted them for their own use.

What religion are the runes in?

Runes are a significant part of Norse religion and are closely linked to Norse magic and skaldic poetry. They were not invented, but were discovered by Odin when he hung himself from the world tree Yggdrasil to learn wisdom. The runes were likely developed in the first century AD, possibly inspired by the Latin alphabet. They are found in Scandinavia and are easy to carve into hard materials, such as weapons, tools, jewelry, amulets, bones, wood, memorial stones, and church walls. They were not written but rather carved into hard materials.

To use a Great Rune in Elden Ring, equip it at a Site of Grace and use a Rune Arc, a rare consumable item. The Great Rune remains active until you die or switch them. To activate the Great Runes, head to the corresponding Divine Tower. Godrick’s Great Rune is obtained from defeating Godrick in Stormveil Castle. To activate it, head to the nearby Divine Tower, Limgrave Divine Tower. Start at the Liftside Chamber Site of Grace in the northwest section of the castle.

Go past fire turrets and archers guarding the final gate leading to the main gate. Sprint through the archers and follow the path towards the main entrance. This is the first Great Rune you will obtain in Elden Ring. This guide contains spoilers related to mainline boss battles.

Do Christians use runes?

Christian runic inscriptions can be found in a number of different contexts, including on Christian runestones, in late Viking and medieval runic churchyard monuments, on various inscriptions in churches and on ecclesiastical items. What is the most powerful rune symbol?

Uruz, a green rune symbolizing energy and power, is the element of Earth and symbolizes Yin and Yang, feminine and masculine. It endows masculinity to men and femininity to women, promoting wholeness and harmony. Uruz’s power heals through transformation and restores health through human transmutation. The 5 pointed pentagram, symbolizing the sun, eternity, and protection, is used to understand mission and achieve goals. The 6-pointed hexagram, symbolizing harmony of feminine and masculine aspects, is a powerful protective and transformational amulet.

How do you read runes?

The horizontal runes (first, second, and fifth) represent your past, present, and future. The rune below the center represents a problem or issue you need to address, while the rune above the center represents a possible solution. For instance, if you have an issue with your parents, you may recognize details of your past, present, and future experiences in the symbols on the horizontal runes. The rune below the center indicates a problem you are having at home, while the rune above the center suggests a possible solution. The rune that landed in the center can indicate your current situation or present state. Meditate on the rune symbol’s meaning when addressing questions or issues.

What do runes tell you?

Runes can provide guidance and predict future events, but they are not a form of fortune-telling. Instead, they offer variables and suggest how to behave in the event. Runes are known for hinting towards answers, but intuition is helpful in determining the details. Rune readers acknowledge that the future is not fixed and individuals have the power to follow their own path. If the guidance provided is not satisfactory, the reader can change their path.

Runes can be useful in situations with limited information or incomplete information. In conclusion, runes can be a valuable tool in guiding individuals through problems and providing insights into potential outcomes.

  • Thank you so much for these articles! As you can tell if you look at my comments, I’ve binged this series over the last two days and I have learned so much! I literally wrote in a journal entry a week or so back that ‘I want to learn Elder Futhark but idk how’ and bam, I stumble upon this series! This has been a great help and I’m looking forward to future articles on this subject. You’ve earned yourself a new subscriber

  • I just made some runes and i was doing a reading about a friend (Not in a bad way just using that friend as an example) and i was in the middle of the eightfold wheel method and she texted me. It was so weird but it was also very funny and the reading i got was very accurate and i now know how to use runes! This was so helpful!

  • This was incredibly helpful and interesting. I hadn’t come across the four or eight fold wheels before but reqlly want to try them. You may cover this in a separate article but do you try to protect youself/the reading? By this I mean that you’re opening yourself up to forces beyond our five senses and they’re not always going to be benevolent or even neutral.

  • p2-9 The 24 runes of the Elder Futhark are divided into three sets of eight runes each. The first set has to do with Urd, goddess of birth and the past. One of those runes represents who you are. The second set has to do with Verdandi, goddess of life and the present. One of those runes represents how you will live. The third set has to do with Skuld, goddess of death and the future. One of those runes represents how you will die, and/or the legacy you will leave after your death. Among the moral deities, there are three in particular who represent truly core, personal moral values. One is Odin, who represents facing the truth even when you dislike it; one is Freya, who represents doing what you honestly think is right, even when you aren’t supposed to; and one is Thor, who represents being strong, capable, hard-working and industrious, while at the same time knowing the limits of your own strength. Moreover, you can be either faithful or unfaithful to each of those three deities, independent of whether or not you’re faithful or unfaithful to either of the other two. That produces eight possible combinations of faithfulness and unfaithfulness to those three deities, which in turn produces eight possible personality types.

  • p5-9 Now, because Uruz is the second rune in Urd’s eight, it corresponds to Naudiz, which is the second rune in Verdandi’s eight, and also to Berkana, which is the second rune in Skuld’s eight. Since Naudiz is in Verdandi’s eight, it has to do with your present and with the life you will live. The literal translation of “Naudiz” is “need”. However, what it metaphorically means is “poverty, and dependence on the charity of others”. Moreover, in prehistory, most people’s money consisted of small beads of various shapes threaded onto cords and worn around their necks as necklaces. Moreover, the shape of the Naudiz rune is indicative of a single, disk-shaped bead suspended on a cord. If that is indeed what the shape represents, and I suspect it is, then that would make the shape indicative of being “down to one’s last penny” so to speak. Thus that also suggests that the Naudiz rune represents poverty. Moreover, if you examine the lives of Uruz type people, you will find that they do indeed tend to live quite impoverished lives. You see, since they are faithful to Odin, they will tend to learn all sorts of painful truths which other’s don’t want to hear. Thus they will tend to be filled with wisdom and knowledge which others will dislike, and so others will tend to shun them in order to avoid being confronted with the painful truths which they know. For that reason, they will have few friends and helpers.

  • p3-9 Moreover, each of those eight personality types will tend to lead you down a different one of eight basic paths in life, and each of those eight basic paths in life will tend to lead you to one of eight different ways you can die and/or legacies you can leave after your death. Thus the first eight runes are the eight basic personality types, the second eight runes are the eight basic paths in life, and the third eight runes are the eight basic ways you can die and/or legacies you can leave after your death. Thus each rune in each eight, corresponds to the runes in the same position in the other two eights. Thus just as the runes are divided into three sets of eight, they are also divided into eight sets of three. Fehu, Hagalaz and Tiwaz are one set of three, Uruz, Naudiz and Berkana are another set of three, Thurisaz, Isa and Ehwaz are another set of three, and so on and so forth. Moreover, in each eight, the first four runes have to do with faithfulness to Odin, and the second four have to do with unfaithfulness to Odin. Likewise, the first, second, fifth and sixth have to do with faithfulness to Freya, and the third, fourth, seventh and eighth have to do with unfaithfulness to Freya. Likewise, the first, third, fifth and seventh have to do with faithfulness to Thor, and the second, fourth, sixth and eighth have to do with unfaithfulness to Thor. Now, since Uruz is in the first eight, therefore it has to do with your birth and with who you are.

  • p6-9 Also, since they are faithful to Freya, they will tend to always do what they honestly believe is morally right, even when others disapprove of it. Thus by their constant tendency to do what’s morally right rather than what others want, they will drive others away from themselves by that means as well. Thus for that reason also, they will have few friends and helpers. Also, since they are unfaithful to Thor, they won’t be especially hard-working, capable or industrious. Therefore they will be constantly dependent on others, but will be unable to do much to help others. Thus for that reason also, few will want to befriend them or help them. Thus over the course of their life, the Uruz type person will suffer from an extreme lack of people whom they can cooperate with or trade with, or who will be inclined to help them in any way. Moreover, because they won’t be especially hard-working, capable or industrious, therefore they also won’t be especially able to help themselves either. Thus the life of an Uruz type person will tend to be one of extreme poverty and destitution, and desperate reliance on whatever little bit of charity is offered to them. Hence their Verdandi rune is called “Naudiz” meaning “need”, and is symbolized by a single bead suspended on a cord, to show that the Uruz type person will always be down to their last penny. Now then, what of Berkana?

  • p4-9 Moreover, since it is the second rune in its eight, therefore it has to do with faithfulness to Odin and to Freya, but unfaithfulness to Thor. Therefore it means that you will be willing to face the truth no matter how painful it may be, that you will have the integrity to do what you honestly believe is morally right even if it’s against your own best interests, but that you won’t be especially hard-working, capable or industrious. Now, the literal translation of “Uruz” is “Auroch”, which was a species of wild cattle which once roamed Europe. However, the symbolism of cattle being wild rather than domesticated, has a connotation of untamed potential. Therefore the true meaning of the Uruz rune is that you have potential, but that you aren’t able to fulfill it. Moreover, that is quite an apt description of the sort of person whom the Uruz rune represents. You see, being willing to face painful truths, and having the integrity to do what’s morally right even if it’s against their own interests, an Uruz type person has a lot of potential to be a good, noble hero or heroine of their people. However, lacking the industriousness to actually get anything done, the Uruz type person is never quite able to bring their potential to fruition. Thus a wild cow which can’t be domesticated, is a good symbol of the Uruz type person, and that is why the rune has the name and shape which it does.

  • p1-9 Ah yes, Uruz, the second rune in the first eight. In the native religion of the European races, there are two tribes of deities, one dealing with cosmological principles, and one dealing with moral values. Among the cosmological deities, there’s a primordial god and goddess. The goddess is divided into four aspects: the giver of life, known as “Urd”; the maintainer of life, known as “Verdandi”; the taker back of life, known as “Skuld”; and the one who restores and rejuvenates life in the underworld in preparation for it to be reborn, known as “Hel”. That’s why the Fylfot has four arms, endlessly chasing each other in a circle. Of the four aspects of the goddess, we can see the work of the giver of life, of the maintainer of life, and of the taker back of life, but we can not see the work of the one who prepares life to be reborn yet again. In other words, we can see a child being conceived and born, and growing up; we can see a grown person living their life; and we can see someone grow old and die. However, we can not see how those who have died, prepare to be reborn yet again. That phase of the endless cycle of death and rebirth is hidden from us. Consequently, normally only the first three aspects of the goddess are shown, and the fourth is normally hidden. Hence why the triskelion has only three arms chasing one another in a circle, rather than four.

  • p9-9 Thus if Uruz is your Urd rune, then Naudiz is your Verdandi rune and Berkana is your Skuld rune. Altogether what they mean is that you’re willing to face painful truths, that you want to do what’s right even if it’s against your own best interests, but that you’re too pathetic to actually get much done, and that for these reasons, you will live a life of great poverty and destitution, but that when you die, you will leave behind a great deal of wisdom, most likely in written form, for the benefit of future generations.

  • p7-9 Well, since Berkana is in Skuld’s eight, it has to do with how you will die, and/or with the legacy you will leave after your death. Now, since an Uruz type person, being faithful to Odin, will be willing to face the truth even when the truth is painful, therefore the Uruz type person will easily be able to discern what’s morally right and what’s morally wrong. Moreover, because the Uruz type person is faithful to Freya as well, they will tend to care deeply about what’s morally right, and will want to fight for it even if it means they are punished for doing so. Thus the Uruz type person will tend to become aware of all sorts of problems in the world, and will tend to want to fix them. However, being unfaithful to Thor, the Uruz type person won’t be hard-working enough or industrious enough to actually do much about those problems. Therefore since the Uruz type person won’t be able to actually do much about the problems he or she wants to fix, the Uruz type person will instead be inclined to make others aware of those moral ills, and to try to convince others to fix those moral ills on their behalf. However, because the Uruz type person will tend to be so unpopular with others, few will want to hear the Uruz type person speak, and so the Uruz type person won’t find giving speeches to be of much use.

  • Wait a sec. Tacitus wrote in a very clear latin, there aren’t “interpretations”, but only one for who knows latin well. “Virgam frugiferae arbori decisam in surculos amputant eosque notis quibusdam discretos super candidam vestem temere ac fortuito spargunt”. No nuts whatsoever in latin text It is a “frugifera” branch, which means fruitful. Which makes a LOT of sense as runes are the fruits of knowledge

  • That seems pretty fun i think that i would personally make my own runes so i don’t forget what they are (thats my problem with tarot btw) And a of topic question: I’m now feeling more comfortable in my craft and i really wanna start deity/spirit/whatever work and I’m really into glamour magic so a god of beauty really appeals to me but i don’t want to work with Aphrodite cause i have no connection to greek mythology can anyone help

  • thank you for sharing your knowledge! im sorry some people have responded so harshly, i know there are some people who use the runes that don’t always have good intentions…as a fellow black witch/spiritualist who feels drawn to the runes i really appreciate you making this article and i would LOVE to see more!

  • You’ve been working with the runes for a very long time so you shouldn’t be letting any body discourage you and making you take your article down you are one of the first people on YouTube that I know of dating back a couple years ago that I have ran across even talking about the runes keep up the good work 🔮🌻✌🏾🌻

  • I wish people would understand that “magic” (our inner source power) is available to all people. How shallow is it to think that you can only practice one form because of where you were born in this life? Closed minded witches (and people) irk me. I study all cultures, all practices and incorporate them all in my life. I’ve done past life practices where I’m connect to so many other cultures than the one in this life. Entitlement is a spiritual block. Keep making these great articles! I love it! 💙

  • Wtf? Why did you get negative reactions in the past for sharing your knowledge about Runes?? I love your articles, and how I depth you are with your explanations. This article especially is amazing to me, as someone who is half Norwegian and have been studying the Runes for a very long time. It’s a breath of fresh air to see someone else who is so passionate about them! Love you and your content!❤ᛉᚨᛒ

  • Haters are always going to hate …if the runes call to you don’t apologize, don’t ever take down your articles because someone else is offended by them… that’s their problem …if the runes didn’t call to you, you wouldn’t be called to make a article …putting the knowledge out there, which promotes more people to investigate, and have their own experiences with the runes… in Viking culture these symbols were primarily used by the shaman and the crones,or Wise Women, both of these people lived apart from the warrior class similar to the way we have military and civilians separated nowadays the shaman always stood apart from the common man or woman… and they were responsible for the spiritual growth of their community and the spiritual health of their community… I respect any and all who are called by the runes and their energies and are called upon to share their wisdom thank you for sharing your gifts and have a great day

  • I recently became interested in Runes and I appreciate this article that you made. I can’t believe you making this article or using runes could be so controversial. It makes me realize how ignorant people can be. Most of these negative comments that people are writing seem very racist to me. I am not of Scandinavia heritage. Does that mean I cannot have an interest or respect for this culture. I would try to ignore ignorance. I know it is difficult but a better person has to take the high road. Again, thank you for this article.

  • Hi! I think this article was HIGHLY informative and you covered the topic i was looking for and more. Originally i was searching for ways to cast or read the runes, so for example, 1-rune reading, 3-runes, 7…etc. i think you did a great job covering the general information and hardly skipping a beat! But if i could ask for anything just a much more in depth guide on how to do readings, specifically with MULTIPLE runes. This was an excellent article for me on a new moon, and i wanted to show my appreciation for your ability. Also, you are beautiful! Much love and care, stay safe ❤️🌑

  • Oh you r good the haters r gonna come because you R so good! I’ve studied the runes for approx 30 years and let me tell you, you have a gift!!! Best explanation on the runes I have EVER seen on you tube! PLEASE PLEASE keep going!! Absolutely send you blessings you taught this old crone a new thing 🔮❤️🙏🏻🧚‍♀️

  • You did a wonderful job educating us about runes. Don’t listen to the feeble minded. They can’t comprehend that every continent has ancient diversity even if it’s on a small scale. I took have diverse ancestors, Celtic, Moroccan African and native American. When I call upon help or guidance I seek them all. Bravo to you. I hope you continue to teach us. The world is awakening and we need it ❤️

  • Be honest with you, there tends to be a more authentic, enthusiastic explanation when done from one from a different culture and i seem to learn more because of that. Like the saying goes attractions aren’t seen by the locals. I’m am thankful for your expertise and insight and hope this becomes a regular thing since i am now subscribed, revisiting different topics is a good thing and needed really! You’re doing the right thing, i wouldn’t promote someone who’s motive is evil either, thanks for exposing them in your description!

  • So sorry to hear that you had negative comments for covering this information! Don’t pay ignorante people any mind, you are not only knowledgeable but beautiful – they are just jealous and probably come from those that take freely from our culture! It would be great to know about Afrikan runes or similar as we all know this art had it’s beginnings there! Keep Up the great work, you have a new sub ❤❤❤

  • Hi! I’m so happy that I came across your article! This was an amazing article and was right on time. I just bought supplies today to create my own runes and was looking for information on how to use them. Thank you so much for your positive energy and willingness to share your knowledge. Don’t worry about those people who came at you with negative energy. Just continue to shine and be you. 😀💗👍🏾

  • Ive watched your article and you were mentioning that you got some negative responses from a prior article, ive been involved with odin and the runes for a long time and i was very impressed with you articles on magic and runes, their history, you have clearly studied very deeply into the runes, your work is amazing, and your theory is obviously very accurate in your understanding of the runes, thank you, teachers like you are needed.

  • Great research work concerning language and historical context. That’s what people need to get before they either use runes for divination, or see them as part of a cultural legacy that cannot be lost. As a historian, the cultural legacy notion is what attracts me to websites that seem to have a real interest in preserving ancient folk traditions and passing them on.

  • Hey! Wanted to thank you for making articles on runes! I’ve been looking into them and have found your article as you said, way more helpful then others. Your love of studying the occult really shows in all the knowledge you have! Thanks for sharing it! Although I love learning more about the spiritual I struggle at prioritizing time to physically read books 😆 I appreciate you sharing your knowledge to make it easier for the rest of us! Sorry to hear some other people haven’t been able to appreciate the time you’ve put into this to help us out. Keep doing your thing! You’re great!

  • Your article is super thorough and has a lot of great information in it. I really enjoyed it. A word of warning though, I noticed you listed Edred Thorsson in your book list. While he does have a lot of knowledge on the runes he’s involved in the AFA (asatru folk assembly) and they’re a hate group. A lot of people do reference his work but the money from his sales goes straight to supporting the AFA and he’s not a good person. Diana Paxson has a good book on the runes if you need a replacement.

  • Just WOW! What a fantastic job you did and a wealth of information packed into under nine minutes. It was a wise choice to trust in subscribing. Maybe, I’m guessing ten years ago or more, I had made my own Runes set! Life happens to where, for many of those years, I no longer have them. I know that I’ll be making another set. I loved my set I had made and wish I still had it.

  • Super good job. Very informative! I don’t know why people always have to go against others. Religions, race, gender, politics, Etc., creates separation where there should not be any. We’re all related… We all have to go to eat, go to the bathroom, bleed, anyhow… be born and die. Mitakuye Oyasin! Keep it up, tall and high!

  • Fabulous article! New subbie! I a just guided by spirit to learn the Runes so I picked up a set at my local which apothecary. Did my first casting and it resonated! I’m fascinated by these runes! Black female witch here, so I was surprised that I was guided to them, although I seem to have some Norse connection as Nordic men have always either been clearly attracted, and or have asked me out most of my life. I also had a dream share with a Nordic man I was beginning to get romantic with and we saw the same thing… where in a past life I was moorish and he was viking and during a deal with my father we noticed each other and fell in love secretly… and and later he kidnapped me during the night and sailed away. My father and his men searched and burned many places looking for me…. but the dream stopped before I knew the outcome. This dream share happened randomly and it scared the man so badly he stopped speaking to me… I was very sad. Anyway… it was an amazing connection anyway! I wonder if it’s a connection to my being guided to learn runes! Crazy!

  • Awesome first article find for me. Watched your quarantine article second and subscribed because you’re very down to earth, up front about things, and seem very kind hearted. This article in particular was exactly what I was looking for and very informative. I was disappointed to hear that you removed a article(s) because of someone’s opinion but I respect that. I just would have loved to see those articles due to the comments noting how great they were. I noticed you haven’t posted ina while but I still sub’d in hopes of your return. May peace be upon you and I hope you are safe and doing wonderfully. Thank you for sharing your content. 💗☮️

  • Freestyle!!!!!!>>>>>> I skryed my own meanings for my runes, crystals, witches runes. It’s super specific and satisfying. The altar rune! The yellow ninja!!!! I really recommend. Also if I haven’t bored you already, I don’t correspond runes with the English alphabet. However, I do work Magick with the English alphabet and it’s amazing

  • I am very attracted to the runes I seen the runes at the spirit shop I went through and when I say I just wanted to buy a pack of the wooden runes I couldn’t stop going near it nor looking at them now I am looking more into the runes and the rules also how they work and doing research before I buy a pack.

  • How sad, you took down past rune articles. I think people were just frustrated 😞 how to use runes. 😭 It is terrible it affected you negatively. I enjoyed the knowledge of this article. I have learned through this article it is almost very similar to tarot cards in a way, only there are no secret messages, lol. I don’t know that runes are for me, but I am learning through you what it is. THANK YOU SO MUCH♡♡♡♡♡♡ Don’t let those negative comments bring you down. You are doing GREAT 👍 ❤

  • Another amazing article! Thanks for the factual information. Very informative too. And yes, I would love to see more on runes from you. Please don’t allow people to make you feel bad. I remember that vid and it was perfect. How dare they. Your content has always been perfect to me so I don’t get it ?🤷‍♂️ just trolls and gate keepers. Karens of the world lol. Much love Queen 💙🏳️‍🌈⚔

  • My father is Danish, he grew up in Denmark before he immigrated to Australia in the late 60s. Only his mother, father and two siblings came here, where he met my mother (also an immigrant from the UK and just her mum and dad came here), and I was born in the early 80’s. So all my cousins, aunts, grandparents still live there, in Denmark or Scotland. I know nothing of them… nor them of me. My father chose alcohol over the new Australian family hed created. And my mum did her best. So my question is this.. are my Danish ancestors any less my ancestors because I’m ‘Australian’? It was not my choice to be disconnected from my spirituality. I remember the first time I held a rune in my hand, it was so smooth. But I don’t think I’ve touched one since. At 16, my best friend that had been my buddy since I was 3 years old died. As he was fighting for his life all I could do was find the quietest clearest place in our bush, among trees we used to play beneath and sit on the earth as still and strong as I possibly could, I sat . When days passed and I I knew he was going I lit a candle. As I sat with the candle I collected the wax and rolled it in my fingers until it formed a disk. While the wax was still soft I used my thumb to press the lines that formed his name. Reflecting on it now, it’s was like his own little was rune. Who’s to say what inherited within us spiritually. I had no idea about the history of Vikings when I was that young, and I was raised by my mother to believe people are people and love is love!

  • Very good. There are several types of runic alphabet Elder futhark, Jounger futhark Anglo saxon futhark Germanic futhark. Anglo saxon termanology is incorect. They were a tride of german vikings from germany and denmark friesian islands. There being three of them angles, saxons and jutes came to britain in the 5th centuary for trade then stayed.

  • Why would you get negative feedback:( that’s really sad. I’m sorry. Anyone that’d do that is a real douchebag, Paganism and Wicca is for everyone. If someone feels the connection and the intuition then it’s for them. Each persons path is their own! Thank you so much for sharing. This was really interesting and really informative. Subscribed 🙂

  • This was so educational! Thank you so much for sharing. I LOVE your hair btw! I wish I was born with strong hair like you, i can’t get over how how gorgeous and intelligent of a vibe you’re putting off. Sorry if that sounds weird lol but when I think positive things I always share those thoughts, you never know what a phrase can do to change someone say or how they think of themselves❤️❤️🦻🏻

  • I have no issue with people from other cultures being interested in this, cause we are all fascinated by things around the world, if we arent totally small minded. The world would be very boring, if we wouldnt be allowed to look around and we cant run around and call people “ignorant”, but then also blame them for looking into stuff. Ignore the people who tell you, that this is not for you. We are all connected anyway in the end. People who keep ranting about YOUR ancestors and THEIR ancestors need to understand that the more far you go back in time, people all came from the same place. Many many many moons ago, my ancestors looked like you anyway. People cant be all about the millions of dead ancestors they never met and knew and treat the people, who are alive with them today, badly at the same time. In my faith, we are all equal to the creational consciousness called God. Love from Germany.

  • i have a question, as a muslim we have a month called (Ramadan) please search it up for details about it, but we’ve been told during this month harming creatures are trapped and can’t reach us, so is it because of the moon phase or religious beliefs? also if i were to make moon water during that month would be better ?

  • I know this is old, but try not to let others hatred get in the way of doing what you want power through it think of their insults as just air passing through their immature mouths and they will seem petty and meaningless. You have the power 🐉 to do what you want if you keep at it. I think maybe Odin saw runes in both the branches and a spiders web. I noticed when the sun shined on a web in my room runes clear as day written in the webbing. I still struggle to understand and translate them but it’s amazing what the spider can do.

  • I’m a little confused and that’s to be expected when you get so many different stories but i thought runes were originally a woman’s magic and was used by Freya and Odin was only able to understand after hanging from the tree. But then I find another book saying no it’s Odin that was the first. I’m getting so much back and forth on that part and just kinda want to understand It better.

  • Okay its time to give a more “exact” interpretation of the runes from the Eddas. (Voluspo: Line 20/Henry Adams Bellow Trans.) 20. Thence come the maidens; mighty in wisdom, Three from the dwelling; down ‘neath the tree; Urth is one named; Verthandi the next, — On the wood they scored, –; and Skuld the third. Laws they were made there, and life alotted To the sons of men, and set their fates. (Havamal: Lines 137-138/ Olive Bray Trans.) 137. I trow I hung on that windy Tree nine whole days and nights, stabbed with a spear, offered to Odin, myself to mine own self given, high on that Tree of which none hath heard from what roots it rises to heaven. 138. None refreshed me ever with food or drink, I peered right down in the deep; crying aloud I lifted the Runes then back I fell from thence. (Havamal: Line 141/Olive Bray Trans.) 141. Hidden Runes shalt thou seek and interpreted signs, many symbols of might and power, By the great Singer painted, by the high Powers fashioned, graved by the Utterer of gods. So here’s a few things to take from the three stanzas. (Voluspo: Line 137-138), establishes it according to the Henry Adams Trans. not to just be used as divination, but also as laws made and the dictation of life. So this is more than just as divination, but also as the importance of the written and spoken intent. Governance, Law, and so one. A sacred language. As far as (Havamal: Line 137-138), according to the Olive Bray Trans., Self sacrifice was made on part of the Alfadir to learn the Runes by proving his worth.

  • Certain things in the world are universal, like knowledge. No one owns it. It’s very immature of people to claim ownership and then abuse those who pursue knowledge through Runes, Tarot cards, etc. These are tools that help in evolution of the self. So take a deep breath and get busy in more positive pursuits if you get the urge to abuse this or that person.

  • To understand ourselves, to put the things that we believe in perspective we must have knowledge and understanding of the things around us. Just because someone has an understanding of something different from themselves and their beliefs doesn’t necessarily mean they are that something. WE ARE ALL RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT WE SAY, OUR ACTIONS AND WHAT WE PUT OUT INTO THE WORLD. It’s only when we become aware of our own ignorance in regards to any given topic that we can truly say we want to learn and understand. If any given idea or action is left to propagate without argument or discussion then those thoughts and actions will become responsible for the next generations mindless idiots. Many spiritual beliefs and practices have been developed over a very long period of time and are a part of many different people’s cultural identities and heritages. Unfortunately there’s been a very large movement over the years involving the appropriation of other cultures spiritual practices, symbolisms and effigies. Taking a bunch of different spiritualities their images and culture, picking and choosing what you like and then smashing them together does not make you a citizen of the world or a spiritually woke person, it makes you superficial. This destructive process of spiritual and cultural appropriation without acknowledgement or an understanding of where things come from and why they exist in the first place is the problem. What makes this problem even worse is that we are told to not confront or question those who would knowingly or unknowingly manipulate, steal or otherwise bastardize other spiritualities because the truth may hurt their fragile feelings.

  • Thank you for this article! It is so ridiculous the reaction some have given you. This generation has been brain washed. Growing up in the 80 and 90s that was what I loved about America was that our cultures have mixed together and made so much. I always thought it was a beautiful thing. That being said I knew before I was born there was great oppression and there of course are some lasting effects. I don’t understand how people think the answer to this is to create a new oppressive system. I hope you have not stopped making articles because of these crazy people. We are all one. Spiritual people of all people should know this. I am not this body (it is my body but I do not think it has anything to do with my identity) so race and gender do not matter. I am a conscious soul and so are you. Oneness is the answer. There is also a reason that all prechristain religions fit together so well. I think mysticism is the original religion. Science tells us that all human life began in Africa so it makes sense there would be a root spiritual practice. That practice is mysticism.

  • Listen. I do not know if you will ever read this but you are more than welcome to educate and utilize viking sorcery or ancient culture in anyway you wish and fuck who don’tlike it. I am pleased to see open minded people. If I were ever in need or wanted to learn from african shamans i would want the same treatment. You are beautiful and they live in thier moms basement and are not viking. Keep doing what you are doing and put your middle finger up

  • Runes are in my culture, and so what maybe there not in ur Culture but who care, if your called to runes, your called to runes, Magick is Magick and I don’t get why people are so stingy with knowledge….yes you should always be careful and educated but Magick is Magick and we all live on the same world, and we are all human, don’t let cultures define you because we are all the same.

  • Old Norse was spoken in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and later also Iceland. When Vikings invaded England, the English language was mixed with many words and expressions from Old Norse. Runes are letters of an alphabet and nothing else. They are definitely not magical. These are free imaginations that mainly began in the 19th century. During the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, runes were also invented that had never existed before. In Nazi Germany, the fantasies about runes became even more fanciful. Before making a article like this, you should first familiarize yourself with the topic and find out the facts. Unfortunately, most of what you say is complete bullshit.
