Venus, despite being 4. 5 billion years old, has a surface age of only 500 million years, despite not having plate tectonics. This is surprising, as it appears to be much younger than the moon or Mars. Jun Korenaga, a professor of Earth and planetary sciences at Yale, suggests that Venus’s young surface age is due to the fact that it was once a planet with plate tectonics, but this theory is ad hoc and has been contested by other scientists.

📹 What Does MERCURY Symbolize in Astrology?(According to Phaladeepika, ch 2)
This is my weekly stream for the book I am writing on Phaladeepika, a classic 14th century astrology text written in Sanskrit, …
Oh this stuff is fascinating! My retro mercury and sun are both in hasta (virgo), moon in aqua danishta and my rising is in punarvasu (gemini). I was a piano teacher for 20 years and i’m currently finishing my masters degree in clinical psychology 🙂 always learning and searching. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us!! Kudos from Portugal
Mercury is my atmakaraka in Revati pada 3, first house (Pisces ascendant). Analysing, learning, organizing. I have a double major in 2 different languages (Romanian and French) and a minor in Teaching (Jupiter in Gemini). I live in US and speak a 3rd language (english). I went back to school and got a masters in Forensic Accounting. Data processing, analyising patterns and solving puzzles fascinate me. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
“I’m a creep. I’m a weirdoooo…” and…🏴☠️🏳️🌈 those are my freak flags 😁😆 Jks. I wonder if anyone has noticed that the front of the class is also usually where the door is situated? I always sat at the “front” 😉 In our defence you’ve attracted such a beautiful group of people it’s not to engage. And your presentations are always soooo dense with profound meaning, wisdom and insights I for one must always rewatch 🤓1 viewing live or otherwise is never enough!! Vic your answer about Mercury and OCD/Autism peaked my interest. As I’ve said many times, I have 3 children on the autism spectrum one of whom I refer to as super Merc Hendrix 😎 he’s curious entertaining and has been known to spin a tale or two, and pick up and discard facts like candy lols. He has Sun in Gemini (10house) and a Virgo Lagna. Looking at all of their charts I notice prominence/affliction of their Mercury’s. My eldest has exalted Mercury conjunct his IC in the 5th. The other has retrograde Mercury in Aries 11degrees from his exalted Sun in his 8th. And my youngest “super Merc” has a Mercury conjunct Venus in Cancer 11th, ruling his sun and lagna, being ruled by an exalted moon Taurus 9th..🤔🤔🤔 Finally I noticed you were much more gentle forgiving and willing to veer off topic, digress and respond to off topic questions than last week (Mars) 🤔 Seems quite Gemini and mercurial haha. Wondered is this an intentional demonstration of planetary energies on your part Vic?
Wow this is my experience with how I operate in life I cannot believe or actually I can believe this is just so important information thank you for explaining all of these different factors. Even though obviously or not obviously I went to Traditional School and I just feel like it was the biggest waste of time. And I just cannot say how grateful I am for you and others that take the time to share with complete humbleness and Grace sending much love and good vibes your way💕
I listened to every word you were saying I actually I’m just feeling such overall love. I am Virgo but one of my friends does this type of astrology and she said my first house I believe was Mercury. And I just cannot believe how spot-on everything you are staying literally describes me so accurate this is just such amazing knowledge that hay feeling so so deeply. I’m actually having emotional tears and a happy way and just thanking you and the universe and everyone that contributes to this exploration of our life ends our forces we are living in and with and how it explains almost everything
I am laughing 😂 till it hurts over here listening to this stream. Vic, you remind me of my second grade teacher who used to scare the $hit out of me because she was so strict! You’re so Saturnine. Come on, show us a little bit of that Leo side. 🤣 But seriously 😳 I communicate the same way as you so that’s why I find this so funny.
This is really fascinating from a health perspective. As symptoms of a chronic illness, I sometimes have problems with some cognitive functions and pretty much all of those functions are described here, especially the organising and pattern-matching aspects of Mercury. The effect is symptoms like “brain fog”, poor concentration, reading a sentence over and over again and getting no meaning whatsoever ( or looking at a cookie and not getting further than “it’s a round thing… it’s definitely a round thing…”😑) and other similar things. It doesn’t explain the illness as a whole, but it does seem to match this aspect specifically. It’s also interesting that this illness was seen primarily as a psychological/emotional problem for a long time (and still is by some people, frustratingly). It’s pretty clear, from my experience, that the “mental” symptoms line up with Mercury (intellect) and not the Moon (emotions). *3rd + 12th lord Mercury in the 6th with Mars. I’m really enjoying both live series 🙏 😊 Can’t wait for Jupiter 👍
If I understand correctly, Mercury (along with Venus) doesn’t transit too far ftom Sun. Does this play heavy in the theme of intellect related to Mercury? Like wanting the illuminating quality of Sun to be able to see and understand relations? The critical quality helping to see details, specifics and create cleanliness?
Thank you so much Vic! As always, I find your teachings profound! I am curious about your thoughts on different words for referring to pramāṇa from what Mantreswara has given us. In the Yoga Sūtra, Patañjali refers to empirical perception as ‘pratyakṣa’ and logical inference as ‘anumāna’ (YS I.7). I didn’t hear you use these words specifically here, though this sounds like Mercury to me. What do you think? Based on this article and the one about Jupiter, it sounds like Jupiter might cover the third pramāṇa of scripture which Patañjali refers to as āgamāḥ. Am I on the right track? Or have I missed key pieces from Mantreswara in these words? I don’t want to ignore what Mantreswara is giving us! Just wanting to explore any connections between the teachings. Sending much love and appreciation to you!
