In the fourth episode of “The Last of the Starks”, Cersei confirms that she is pregnant with a prince, Robert Baratheon. This information could spark a civil war if Cersei had just heard rumours about the Tyrells. Season 5’s premiere begins with a flashback to a young Cersei demanding a witch prophecy from years ago, which promised her three children and a younger, more beautiful queen would take everything she holds dear and cast her down.
In the books, Cersei learns that Robert will have sixteen children, not twenty, and that she will be choked to death by her little brother, the valonqar. Cersei’s personality is calculated to make the Septa, and she has one legitimate Baratheon child. Jon insists that Cersei and the game of thrones are meaningless, and everyone she knows will die if they don’t marry.
The rumor in question is probably that there is still a cache of Wildfire hidden in King’s Landing, and Cersei intends to burn the place to the ground. Cersei asks if she will wed the prince, but Maggy responds that she will never wed the prince. The word “valonqar” is Valyrian for “little brother”, so the prophecy states that Cersei will be choked to death by her little brother at the height of her.
The first thing on Cersei’s mind is an upcoming marriage prospect, as she is told that she’s been promised to the prince, Rhaegar Targaryen. If he confesses to that sin, Cersei could use this information to spark a civil war.

What sin did Cersei commit?
Cersei, the ruler of Westeros, faces threats from Dorne and Tommen, who is married to Margaery. To protect her power, Cersei appoints the High Sparrow as the High Septon and gives him authority to re-establish the Faith Militant. However, her plot backfires when Lancel, a member of the Faith Militant, confesses to his affair with Cersei and his role in Robert’s assassination.
Cersei is eventually allowed to return to the Red Keep after confessing to adultery with Lancel, but is forced to walk naked through King’s Landing as atonement. She is consoled by Qyburn’s successful reanimation of Ser Gregor Clegane.
Cersei remains in the Red Keep, stripped of her authority and looks down upon by other members of the court. She learns that the High Sparrow plans to have Margaery do a walk of atonement before Cersei’s trial and conspires with the Small Council to secure Margaery’s and Loras’ release. However, their plan backfires when it is revealed that Margaery has joined the Faith of the Seven and convinced Tommen to merge the Faith and the Crown.
Despite being stripped of her allies, Cersei remains in King’s Landing, having named Ser Gregor as her champion in her trial by combat. Tommen commits suicide due to Cersei’s actions, and she claims the Iron Throne as the first queen regnant of the Seven Kingdoms.
Despite nominally being ruler of Westeros, Cersei’s grip on the throne is tenuous due to upheaval in the Riverlands, the declaration of Ned Stark’s son Jon Snow King in the North, and support from Tyrion, Yara Greyjoy, Dorne, and the Reach. Cersei remains cold and distant after Tommen’s suicide, viewing it as a betrayal of their family.
After the war is won, Cersei continues her affair with Jaime and imprisons Ellaria and Tyene in dungeons.
What was Cersei’s secret?
Cersei, Queen of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, is a complex character known for her lust for power, scheming, transgressive viewpoint, and love for her children. She is the only daughter and eldest child of Tywin Lannister and his late wife, Joanna. Cersei’s father, Tywin, arranged the marriage after his attempt to betroth her to Prince Rhaegar Targaryen failed. Robert Baratheon took the Throne with the help of the Lannisters when he ended the Targaryen dynasty.
Cersei has been involved in an incestuous affair with her twin brother, Jaime, since childhood. All three of Cersei’s children are Jaime’s, unbeknownst to Robert. The rumored illegitimacy of her children causes a power struggle known as the War of the Five Kings.
Cersei’s portrayal on HBO’s Game of Thrones has received critical acclaim, with Headey receiving five Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series and a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. In season 5, a young version of the character is portrayed by Nell Williams in a flashback.
Was Cersei promised to a Targaryen?
Tywin, a powerful figure in the Middle Ages, had a strong desire for his daughter, Cersei, to marry Rhaegar Targaryen. However, he rejected the Princess of Dorne’s proposal to betroth Oberyn Martell and Elia Martell to Cersei and Jaime. Cersei became worthy with Rhaegar, hiding her feelings from her brother. At 11, Jaime was sent away to serve as a squire for Lord Sumner Crakehall. Aerys Targaryen rejected Cersei’s proposal, humiliating Tywin. Tywin took Cersei to King’s Landing and refused every marriage proposal.
In 281 AC, when Cersei and Jaime were 15, Jaime informed Jaime that their father planned to marry him to Lysa Tully and persuaded him to join the Kingsguard. This led to an affair that continued throughout Cersei’s marriage to Robert Baratheon. Despite initially being happy about her marriage, Robert repeatedly cheated on her, and she continued her incestuous affair with Jaime, resulting in the births of Joffrey, Myrcella, and Tommen.
Why did Cersei betray Daenerys?
Cersei’s meeting with Dany is a crucial moment in the story, as it aims to lower Daenerys’ guard and reclaim lost parts of Westeros. Dany, who wishes to wipe out the White Walkers, would prefer to fight on two fronts rather than leave the Lannister Queen’s actions unchecked. If Dany perceives Cersei’s threat subsided, she gains a head start in the battle for the Iron Throne. However, the timing of the meeting raises questions about Cersei’s intentions.
One possible interpretation is that Cersei’s resistance could have made the truce more believable, as she likely knew Dany and her allies wouldn’t leave without the deal they came for. Alternatively, Cersei’s initial suggestion that Jon remain unattached to either Queen could have been a hopeful gambit to separate the forces of The North from the armies of Daenerys, an unexpected bonus for the Lannister Queen if she could achieve it.
In conclusion, the meeting between Cersei and Dany raises questions about the motivations behind the events and the potential consequences of Cersei’s actions.
Is Cersei’s prophecy in the books?
The Game of Thrones books series provides more insight into Cersei’s potential death, with a prophecy stating that “valonqar” will choke her life when her tears have dried up. This line, which is not mentioned in the TV series, may indicate Cersei’s final fate. The prophecy has already come true, with Cersei marrying King Robert Baratheon and having three children, all of whom died by the end of Season 6. However, the prophecy did not predict Cersei’s fourth pregnancy, which was revealed in Season 7.
What was the rumor Cersei told?
It has been postulated that a cache of wildfire weapons was concealed beneath the Red Keep. In Season 6, Episode 10, the Sept of Balor was destroyed, along with a number of other individuals, including members of the Faith Militant, the High Sparrow, the Tyrells, Lancel Lannister, and others who were awaiting trial.
What was Cersei’s mistake?
Cersei Lannister, the Queen of Game of Thrones, is a villainous character who sets a precedent for the series. Her sexual relationship with her twin brother Jaime, and the acts she commits to cover it up, set a horrifying precedent. Cersei’s failure to control her son Joffrey’s behavior led to his downfall and the deaths of many others in battles. She formed alliances with unstable people like the High Sparrow and relyed on sycophants, sealing her fate and causing her ruin and the destruction of King’s Landing.
Cersei Lannister is a dangerous foe, working hard to maintain her position of power throughout the series. She is rooted in her desire for power at any cost, working alongside her family and betraying them at any cost.
Which Targaryen was Cersei promised to?

What made Cersei evil?
Cersei, a tragic character, is driven by narcissism, paranoia, and a hunger for power. Her marriage to Robert was toxic and abusive, with Robert hitting her multiple times and sexually assaulting her while drunk. Cersei avoided birthing any trueborn sons of Robert and had her own children usurp Robert’s house, leading to the War of the Five Kings. The death of her mother during childhood has had a life-long traumatic effect on her. Despite her evil nature, Cersei loves her family deeply and is not entirely without sympathy. Lady Falyse Stokeworth, who was killed by Qyburn to keep it secret, is another character in the story.
What did the psychic tell Cersei?
In the season five premiere, Cersei is told her future by a witch named Maggy the Frog. She is promised to marry the King, but instead, she is promised to be Queen for a time. The King will have 20 children, and Cersei will have three. The predictions have come true, with Cersei marrying King Robert Baratheon after Robert’s Rebellion, who had many illegitimate children. Her three children, all dead, were a result of her incestuous relationship with her twin brother Jaime.
The only ambiguity is the mention of the younger, more beautiful queen, who some believe is Margaery and others think will be Daenerys. Some argue that the predictions were self-fulfilling, meaning that Cersei’s expectation of everything would happen led her to act in ways that made them a reality.
What did the witches predict for Cersei?
Cersei, a young woman, is unsure of her future after her father, Maggy, promises her to marry Rhaegar Targaryen. She asks if she will be queen, and Maggy confirms that she will marry the king, but warns her that she will be overthrown by a younger and more beautiful queen. Cersei also asks about the possibility of having children, but Maggy cryptically tells her that the king will have 20 children, while she will have only three. This imply that all of Cersei’s children will predecede her.
Cersei meets Maggy before her father’s funeral, after his murder by her brother Tyrion. Her eldest son has died, and her daughter Myrcella is in Dorne as a ward and potential hostage of Doran Martell, brother of Elia and Oberyn Martell, who died at the hands of her bannerman Gregor Clegane. Cersei fears that Margaery is the younger and more beautiful queen that Maggy warned her about. In Game of Thrones Season 6, Cersei tells Jaime about Maggy’s prophecy, claiming it came true, but Jaime dismisses it as nonsense.
📹 Tia Dalma 2 – Pirates Of The Caribbean – Dead Man’s Chest
The crew of the Black Pearl visit Tia Dalma. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest is a 2006 American fantasy swashbuckler …
The Void had grown deeper than ever I could have imagined, while I languished in my exile, and screamed and fought, day and night, in vain. Held in its clutches, it had spread everywhere, cursing, hexing, thundering, slandering, hissing, beckoning. It showed me endless versions of my death. It seemed to cry again and again to me… “Vengeance, Vengeance, for the Daughter of Silas, who has dared to escape, again, and again. Vengeance, for the ones who fooled me, speaking her words to me, and twisting them about. The sight of her has filled my eyes, and the sound of her voice become an unwelcome multitude; and yet, she herself has escaped my grasp for too long. If I cannot get what I want…maybe nobody will.”
I had this exact encounter with a Jewish (autofill already knew I was going to type “Jewish”, which raises so many issues) guy at a Chinese restaurant on Christmas Day. I said “yeah, so you may have noticed I am standing here and ordering food”, because I am socially crippled and don’t try to work things out before leapfrogging to confrontation. “Well EX-CUUUSE ME, asshole!” he replied, like Link in the Zelda cartoon. “I was GONNA buy you lunch, DICK, but now I’m not!” “No you weren’t. I’ll have a lunch combo 14.” And if you think I’m trying to sound cool here, just know my cashier was a terrified 13 year-old Chinese boy who looked deeply uncomfortable.
I’d actually much rather bein line behind the ham woman than Lois. No conversation, knows what she wants, says it fast. I HATE people at the butcher or ice cream line who ask to try stuff, then ask this question, then you THINK they are done and the guy asks “anything else?” “uuuuhhhhhhhhhh………. Yes actually” Holy SH–T!
I used to work at an Asian supermarket & bakery my family owns. As my parents owned it, I was both the manager and cashier. There were a couple times where Karens like her would blatantly just cut ahead of a customer and I would have to tell her to either get at the back of the line or get out of my store. It’s only happened twice but the first time it happened, she (the Karen), we had to call the police 🚔 as after refusing to serve her, she came back with a crowbar and started going from aisle to aisle smashing things while still demanding that we serve her.
The foreshadowing in this film is honestly unparalleled. The way she’s immediately drawn to Will which as the audience we think is because he’s the hottest but it’s actually because she can foresee that he will become the future captain of the lost souls. And that she actually reveals she is calypso by gesturing herself and talking as tho she’s talking from experience. I love these movies with all my heart.
“Di compass you bartered from me, it cannot lead you to dis?” This is one of the fatal flaws in PotC – Dead Men Tell no Tales. This clearly states that Sparrow got the compass from Tia Dalma, while the later movie claims he got it from another dying pirate when he was very young. Somebody hadn’t done their homework. Pitiful.
Naomie and Orlando had a thing. She was actually had a cold during those two scenes on POTC2, Orlando helped her by taking care of her and buying her cough syrup, which I thought was the sweetest thing. Imagine Orlando Bloom taking care of you on set making sure you was good (swoon) lol. Then I heard they became good friends and got close and even went out on a couple of dates. I wished they got back together though, they were perfect for each other.
Tia Dalma : You know of Davy Jones? A man of the sea, a great sailor. Until he run afoul of that which vexes all men. Will Turner : What vexes all men? Tia Dalma : What indeed. Gibbs : The sea? Pintel : Sums? Ragetti : The dichotomy of good and evil? Jack Sparrow : A woman. Tia Dalma : A woman. He fell in love. Gibbs : No, no, I heard it was the sea he fell in love with. Tia Dalma : (annoyed) Same story, different versions. And all are true. See, it was a woman as changing and harsh and untamable as the sea. Him never stopped loving her. But the pain it caused was to much to live with, but not enough to cause him to die. Will Turner : What exactly did he put into the chest? Tia Dalma : Him heart. Ragetti : Literally or figuratively? Pintel : He couldn’t literally put his heart in a chest. Could he? Tia Dalma : It was not worth feeling what small, fleeting joy life brings
Haha, I’ve just realized my life was a lie. I’m from Brazil and, in portuguese, the word “Tia” literally means “Aunt”, so everytime I watched this film I thought her name was “Dalma” and they used to call her “Aunt Dalma” 😂 And the word “Tia”, for me, was just a form of treatment, just as I call for my aunt here. Only now I’ve realized “Tia Dalma” is actually her full name! Or am I mistaken? Although I’ve “discovered” that, I still not sure 😂
This always puzzles me: Calypso is drawn to Will Turner but not to Jack. Jack and Tia are more like buddies or siblings. But Calypso is the goddess of the sea. The nature itself. Jack loves sea. But they are not so close to each other. On the other hand, Will is the one who attracts the goddess. Is that just a mystic destiny or I am missing something?
I think it was “Jack’s crew” and not “just Jack” that got the compass from Calypso. I mean, Jack’s captain (the one who dies fighting Salazar) and Jack (probably his first mate) got it from Tia Dalma. Then the captain dies and gives Jack the compass. BOOM plot hole explained and the betrayal thing isn’t even a plot hole. Jack didn’t betrayed the compass when he gave it to Will, Elizabeth and Gibbs cuz he knew the compass would’ve come back to him. Instead, in the 5th movie, he definitely betrays it just to get a fckn bottle. so it’s not a plot hole
Colonel Jim Fullerton of the Greenlandic Army (voiced by Barry Pepper): Sergio’s the real unknown caller. Watson: Of course. (To Sherlock) 1:57, We knew this. Sherlock Gnomes: Of course. Sid and her friends don’t know, but we do. 2:02 So all that’s left to head to The Great Lakes City Natural History Museum, save the gnomes, arrest Sergio, we go back to Chavez Academy and Sid’s friends would’ve apologized to her by then, eh?
Rewatching this, I realised that, while Pintel and Ragetti are both the comic relief in their idiocy, they’re both idiots in their own unique ways. Pintel is simply not a smart man- hence his insistence that that which vexes all men must be sums. Ragetti, on the other hand, is that very special kind of stupid you get when a man who is actually rather smart never gets any sort of education. He occasionally comes up with things that are seem perfectly sound in theory (like tying himself to the mast upside down so he’d be right side up when the ship gets flipped), but his lack of book smarts makes his ideas come up short.
Her accent is upsetting. Fun fact about the Caribbean during this era. We didn’t speak in any form of patois YET. Everyone spoke either British, Spanish, Dutch or French with the accents. Because these langauges were spoken by the majority of the peoples in the region at that time. So to have all characters of colour speak in this awful modern mockery of a Caribbean accent is silly.
