A T-square aspect occurs when two planets form an opposition (180 degrees) and a third planet makes a square to both of them, creating a lopsided triangle in a chart. This harsh aspect represents disharmony in an area of the chart and is known for its tension, challenges, and obstacles. Understanding the T-square aspect requires continuous effort and understanding the underlying framework.
A square in an astrological chart shows how individuals experience turning points and can be helpful in pushing through stagnation. The key to any astrological chart is interpretation, so it’s important to understand aspects with precision and clarity. Breaking down the square into its bare bones is the first step towards unlocking the mysteries of an astrological chart. The geometric nature of aspect patterns is expressive and symbolic, revealing an underlying framework.
A T-square is a tense and challenging aspect pattern that takes some work to master. It is best explained as patterns of behaviors, outcomes, and thoughts that keep happening over the course of a native’s life. When at least two planets oppose each other and both square a third planet, the third planet, known as the focal planet, forms.
T-squares are less influential if the planets are in different modes or if one of the points is in different modes. A T-square aspect occurs when three planets lock into tense, 90-degree angles (squares) with each other, causing a three-way battle of wills. Squares stimulate drive and courage, but also tension and conflict. The native can be very active and achievement-oriented, especially if this aspect is present.

I have a Taurus moon opposite Pluto in Scorpio. And I always resonated with the Scorpio moon descriptions more so than the plain old Taurus moon analysis. I was also diagnosed with bipolar disorder type 1 and I have been to the mental hospital for intense emotional breakdowns. People also say that my eyes are very intimidating because they’re so focused like I’m penetrating into someone’s soul. It can be very overwhelming dealing with this aspect but age, maturity, healing work and self care practices can really ease the intensity of our emotions and internal suffering. It’s also very interesting to see people either scared or attracted to you because of our powerful auras and smoldering eyes.
i have pluto in sag opposition my moon in gemini! It’s actually very funny. I have diagnosed adhd too! which is something people say is typical of gemini moons! me and my two sisters all have our moons opposition pluto, and yes our parents were extremely domineering and abusive, and overall just not very nice people! My older sister has taurus moon opposition pluto in scorpio, and me and my little sister both have gemini moon opposition pluto in Sagittarius! this is actually making me laugh!
WOW…I have this placement both Moon and Venus square Pluto. I’m a Gemini Rising, Virgo Sun, and have moon/venus conjunction in Cancer so I guess that’s why Venus is involved. I literally have 9 squares in my birthchart 😏I think my moon is ok, but i’m not sure since I’m just learning about astrology; but from what I’ve read having both Moon & Venus in Cancer in 2nd house 1 degree apart isn’t so bad. 🤷🏾♀️ I have lately, past few years, started to get interested in astrology. I have suffered from depression since my teens, and diagnosed bipolar. I do have a great motivation to change, and have struggled with self esteem and finding direction and purpose. Not sure the main culprit in all of this, but I’m learning. I was raised by my grandmother, who was extremely controlling, but also very mothering. I’m not close to too many people, but those I do care for I tend to treat very well, and enjoy helping, but I wouldn’t call myself controlling. I do suffer from weight issues all my life and feelings of self worth. I’m trying to find ways of learning astrology to perhaps shed some light in helpful ways to help heal and overcome some of these issues because I do believe in astrology.
My moons in Taurus opposing Pluto in Scorpio Midheaven. My mom pretty much think no one is good enough for me lol and always wants me to come back home (moved to Atlanta 6yrs ago, born in CT) People do steal my good innerG, I have been tested by others a lot and I’m also an astrologer. I work as a content creator for random websites via UpWork app and also work an app called Nebula. Also I’m a truck driver (sun in Aries 3rd house and Mars in Capricorn 12th house) I plan on teaching others (Saturn in Sag 11th house) and in about 10 years plan on opening a retreat healing spa for women only (Moon conjunct Venus) 🌙 💰
I have a really bizarre chart. I’m an Aquarius sun man with a Uranus and Venus as my most dominant planets, followed closely by Pluto. Saturn and Neptune are also prominent in my chart. I have Moon in Taurus opposite Pluto in Scorpio. The Moon is in the 3rd house and Pluto is in the 9th house. I’m a weird mish mash of conflicting energies. Lol
Very accurate for Pluto (Pluto in Scorpio)squaring my Leo Moon… even the uncomfortable parts about my mother…my home was not a safe place for me for about the first 15 years of my life…I would love to hear your take on Chiron in the 8th house or Pluto in Scorpio in the 1st house. This article clip was very good and very accurate.
I have an Aquarius moon in the 8H (w/Juno), square my Pluto in Scorpio in the 5H (w/Pallas). My mother is a natal Aquarius, and is very much so how you described! I also have Pluto in opposition to my Taurus Sun. I have a lot of other aspects to my Pluto in almost all the my planets and some asteroids. Pluto is apart of 2 yods, with one of these having Pluto as the apex planet. With one of the yods, it sextiles Neptune in my 7H in Cap. So does this mean because of my Juno, Pluto in the 5H, that it’s working w/my Neptune that I will marry someone who is also a Plutonian, as well as my child being Scorpion? It’s weird because I’ve always been attracted to Scorpio men (before I knew the placement.) My husband, or darakaraka, in Vedic is the Sun/Leo, which I also think is interesting as well! The generational thing is so true, and I am noticing it on my maternal side! I have been psychic my whole life, my mother is psychic (she’s very Plutonian even though I don’t know her chart), her sister is, who was born with a veil on her eyes (who is a Natal Scorpion), and I am seeing this in my 10 year old niece (who is also a natal Scorpion). Thank you so much for the website and the article! 🖤✨🙏🏾
I have moon in Leo in the 8th house and my Pluto is in Scorpio in the 10th house and this square is so involved in my life even with all the awareness that I have of it. It’s hard to get in control of it. My mom and I haven’t spoken in years and my mom is an Aries w/Gemini moon and my dad is Leo with libra moon I get along with my dad really well tho
So what happens when your moon is in Scorpio in conjunction with Pluto? and add Saturn in Scorpio, all three in conjunction in between them, all three of in 6th house. That’s one side of my chart, the opposite house has a stellium in Aries in 12th house. I also have a stellium in 8th house of Neptune, Jupiter and Uranus.
I often wish that when people make articles about a certain topic that they just talk about that instead of all sorts of other stuff that I didn’t want to hear because it makes it really hard to find the actual subject matter. In other words, get to the point. I can’t listen to all this other nonsense.
