Lenovo Migration Assistant is a tool designed to help users transfer files from an old PC to a new one, ensuring a more user-friendly experience. It pairs two machines for file transfer, eliminating the need for cords or USB connections. Magic Transfer is an app that allows users to transfer files from one device to another, but it is not system-critical.
Magic Plus is another tool that connects devices to a PC, transfers files, downloads apps, and updates/upgrades the system. It is not the same as Lenovo Smart Assistant. Magic Transfer is an application marketed by Lenovo, and some people try to uninstall it. However, it can be easier said than done because it works for both Android and IOS phones.
To transfer files from a computer to the Lenovo ThinkReality VRX, connect a PC to the device’s USB-C 3.1 port using Developer Mode. The Lenovo Aura Edition PC can be transferred with a simple tap using an AI Virtual Smart Sensor. It works for both Android and IOS phones, allowing users to transfer music, photos, and other files between their phone’s storage and computer in either direction.
For data transfer, users can charge their phone with a USB cable or reverse charging by connecting their phone to the Lenovo AIO 27IMB05 (5C10U58130) original transfer cable. Magic Bay accessories connect magnetically to compatible Lenovo ThinkBook laptops, which have a small set of pin connectors on the laptop’s lid.

You COMPLETELY ignored a rather important category — that was partly grayed out in your own article: *accounts*. I have 3 google accounts and 18 other accounts. Your sample had 1 google acct, and one dropbox acct (text grayed but not the icon.) How do those get transfered? NONE of these methods even discuss that. In the past I could use “Helium” to do it but that’s apparently outdated 🙁
There is NO ‘Accounts & Backup’ on any of the phones we have, but there is ‘Accounts’ and a ‘Google’ entry within and again NO ‘Back up Data’ entry only google account. Totally bemused, is this article for yet ANOTHER **** Samsung device, seems most so called generic articles on YT seem to really only tie up with a Samsung, if so, PLEASE rename the article accordingly. Now looking at the below comments I guess I should not expect and answer here ?.
Your method and tips worked well for me-thanks for taking the time to make the article. To those criticizing someone went to the trouble to make an instructional article that anyone can watch for free (or not watch if you don’t find it helpful): you do know, don’t you, that you can turn on subtitles so you can read as well as hear the presentation pause and replay parts of the article that aren’t clear to you at any time play it at reduced speed if the pace is faster than you are comfortable with. Or you can just complain.
Hello, I just bought a new android phone and would like open my google photos there. But here is 3 important things I would like to do: – Create a new gmail, move the data from my current gmail to the new gmail – Change my plan from the free 15gb plan to a more storage plan – Change the back up settings from Storage Saver to Original Quality My question is what are the order of these steps? considering I don’t want to risk losing any data from my old phone. Please help as this is a special complex case.
Thanks for the well done article. One question: When transferring an app from old phone to the new phone, does it transfer everything (app itself included) from the old phone, or it actually connects to Google Play or whatever “App Store’ over the internet to get/re-download the app? The reason I am asking this question is, I have Douyin (Mainland China version TikTok App) on my old phone, and this App is NOT available for download from outside mainland China (I am in Canada), so I wonder in this case if this app can be transferred directly from old phone to the new photo (instead of re-downloading and installing from the App’s store/server from mainland China, which again in my case can not be done:). Thanks again
hi, I’m trying to transfer data from samsung s20 to motorola razr 40 ultra, but I have a problem, I don’t see this first step, copy aps and data ( use your old device), I did a google account backup on the old device, and on the new one, I started from the settings menu but I just don’t see this option…the new phone is already configured (I’m not starting it for the first time now). Should i reset my new phone to fabric settings and than start the procedure?
Thanks for sharing the process to transfer files between phones. I noticed that you had a Dr John Campbell pop up on your YT stream. You are demonstrating a high degree of wisdom regarding health by listening to Dr Campbell regarding the results of participating in certain experimental therapies over the past 3 years. Cheers!
Hey, there! I switched from Huawei P30 Pro to Vivo X90 pro and I want to transfer my all photos and articles from my gallery old to new phone. But I also want to transfer them in order and even transfer proper folders that they were inside. If I do this exact steps, does that meand I get to transfer also folders and pictures in folder, or do I get only pictures gathered all in one folder?
The T-Mobile salesperson that sold my sister her new Moto 5 5G 2024 went through the steps to transfer her files over to the new phone but her contracts did not transfer. Now what? Neither my sister or I are phone/tech savvy. Is there a way to now transfer her contacts to new phone without factory resetting her new Moto? How would we do that? We’re not understanding why contracts didn’t transfer. Help please…
Hello I have a new phone and for the first time I still got my old one not being completly broken even tho I’ve used it for many years. But since so I have alot of stuff on my old phone and even tho I not use some of the Apps and other stuff I want to put it all on the new phone. BUT Im not sure if I can do that – is it possible to transfer just everything 1to1? Including apps, games + safefiles and also stuff that most likely isn’t to be found in the app store or others anymore? Oh and even that this one isn’t necessary I was wondering anyways – will it also transfer the browser history?
So kind of an important question & I think I know it should be safe but just cuz I am not necessarily a tech person persa, is it safe doing this with for instance crypto accounts like coinbase, kraken, Gemini, atomic wallet, binance etc… & they all have a significant amount of crypto in them all will that transfer the same as all the other data? I’m pretty sure even if it didn’t, as long as I have my mnemonic pass phrases for each wallet that my crypto will automatically transfer whenever I enter that into the new phones crypto account apps but just wanted to ask a 2nd opinion considering the significant $ worth of all my crypto accounts….?
I have a Samsung galaxy a12 ( old phone ) on that phone I have a 128gb micro sd card which most of my photos / articles are saved too . When I take a group of photos I save them in a folder and then rename that folder so it’s easier to find. My new phone is a Samsung Galaxy a14 . I have tried to transfer the photos and articles to the new phone using Samsung Smart Switch but the folders in which I have the picts and articles saved to in the old phone dosent transfer over to the new phone in the same way . I have transfered over the sim / micro sd card to the new phone . The way they do transfer over to the new phone is, there saved into one folder with over 60.000 picts articles in that folder. How do I get them to transfer onto the new phone in the same way as I have them saved to the old phone . The software and settings are all up to date on both phones. Thanks very much . perusal your article in Dublin Ireland, I’m a new subscriber to your website and I have liked this article . I’ll be waiting on your reply . Thanks again .
Didn’t work . I connected both phones but no notice of connection. It says connect both phones even though they are connected. Old phone first then the new one. Answer “I don’t have the right cord”. Then it says go to your google app on your old phone > I did then it asks you if you want to transfer your data. You hit yes and it goes thru and bunch of questions. It did work but not the way you showed.
Hi Aaron! Thx for the article. I need to do this transfer, from note 8 to note20 Samsung. Is a replacement guarantee situation. The new phone arrived with a new ship and the company asked to use the new ship because of new technology and blah blah blah. Should I ignore the company and use the ship from the old cell in the new one and follow your procedures, or is there a way to do the transfer using the new ship in the new cell and old ship in the old cell. Sorry I am far away from being savvy in technology. 🤦♂️
You got us, I’m not sure how to do this exactly but in the past I’ve never had this issue. I had a motorphone and it’s broke up. I don’t really care for it. I just got a new Samsung phone I did the transfer but on the Samsung phone in the apps it shows a bunch of the Motorola ones so when I go on Google Play Store. When I click on one, it says it’s not compatible with the Samsung phone. How do I delete all those cause? I’ve already deleted my account most of my Gmail accounts on my old phone I even did a reset on the old phone so there’s nothing on it.I don’t know if I have the sink I need to turn off in my Google account and then take those apps off and then even which apps you know, even Google apps, so up 2 of them now. I don’t know, maybe someone could help me
Will I be signed in to all the gmail accounts on the old phone? I unfortunately broke the screen of the old one and cannot remember the password to some old gmail accounts, I stupidly did not add recovery options on some accounts. So right now I only managed to transfer photos by connecting my old phone to a pc. I’d rather not reset the new phone again so if it doesn’t transfer the accounts I won’t bother.
How do I copy everything from my really-old phone to my not-so-new phone that won’t be getting a factory rest just to do this…? (I’m actually upgrading my ★set-as-internal-storage★ SD card in my not-so-new phone by temoprarly storing apps, app setting, and app data of all apps including side loaded apps of on the really-old phone.)
You are going through a lot of options. I believe you confused me more than help me. If you slowed down a bit by talking slowly I could have used this article. First of all do I get a different Sim card with different card. Actually you are a horrible teacher. Don’t be a teacher I suggest. This comes from a man who used to undergraduate Engimeering students who used to get all cs and Fs finally mostly get A after I taught them. Even the Dean told my chairman the students had written a letter that I was the best teacher they could get in a 190 yrs. Please review how you start, talk, explain, and take your time, this key.
In what sense do you believe that your artificial, faux, hand gestures add to the message you’re wanting to convey? This is not how people communicate. Or is it Ameslan, perhaps? Your hands are an annoying nuisance and distract from what you’re saying, so much so that this and your website aren’t ones that I can return to nor recommend. I expect you put off a large number of visitors likewise. Consider all the young TV reporters doing ‘pieces to camera’ with hands flying about. Distracting. Concentrate on the message, for your own sake. PS If you’re going to tell us what this does, to be worthwhile, tell us what it doesn’t do – what apps/data the process doesn’t copy. Otherwise, it’s half a story, and vapid. But thanks for trying.
