The concept of “Big Brother” originates from George Orwell’s dystopian novel 1984, where the government, led by the omnipresent figure Big Brother, exerts total control over its citizens through constant surveillance and manipulation. The Big Brother conspiracy theory is that the Big government acts as a Totalitarian State, whether its subjects realize it or not. The name Big Brother comes from a character in George Orwell’s Ninet, and it taps into deep-seated fears about the loss of privacy and autonomy in an increasingly connected world.
The Big Brother 15 Wall competition led to the “Helen Was Pushed” conspiracy theory, which claimed that Dick used mirrors in the living room to see Zach’s answer every round and that all of this was intentionally done by Big Brother. An astonishing 82% of Americans believe the United States has become an Orwellian state. A recent example of a conspiracy theory is the COVID-19 vaccine and rumors that it contains a microchip to track individuals.
Big Brother is a character and symbol in George Orwell’s dystopian 1949 novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, where he is ostensibly the leader of Oceania, a totalitarian political party. Edward Snowden’s revelations brought new awareness on governmental systems of mass surveillance and made way to a number of cases against the UK government. Conspiracy theories have been explored in various media outlets, such as movies and TV shows, and the UK government’s identity card mandate.
In conclusion, the concept of “Big Brother” is rooted in George Orwell’s dystopian novel and the ongoing debate surrounding the role of the government in a totalitarian state.

📹 5 Big Brother Conspiracy Theories 8.0
For the eighth time, we’re looking at Big Brother conspiracy theories. Is Angela actually a CBS plant who was put in the BB26 …
New BB26 Conspiracy: Leah’s marshmallow in the Jankie HOH comp was designed not to fall. When you look at the footage of Leah releasing her stick, the marshmallow is still stuck on the comp setup. It didn’t fall down. Production may have rigged the comp so that Leah could win HOH and shake up the game. The main counter-argument is that HGs were instructed to build their own HOH comp, meaning Leah would have been able to rig the comp in her favor in plain sight of everyone. Feeds were down during this time, so we can only get feedback from the 7 other HGs if that was true.
my favorite theory from bb26 is that production set up tucker’s final ai arena in favor of him. production knew they were going to lose their favorite if he did not win. so, they made the competition a physical puzzle (two areas of which he previously excelled in) to try and give him the advantage over angela and mj. I see arguments for why this could be both true or false, but I would love to hear your take in the next article!!
Don’t know if I believe the Diane-Cowboy theory. But IF it was true, then it would explain why production attempted to bring back Cowboy twice (in 7 and 11) and it didn’t go through either time. Especially since Jessie and Jessica were people who were also considered to be screwed by factors outside of their control
One hundred percent production interference regarding Cedric’s eviction. How could they leave a grey area with Quinn’s vote up until the last minute. They wanted a dramatic vote for TV and enhance Tucker’s game as production’s favorite. It was to save his showmance with Rubina and prevent a Pentagon alliance steamroll.
Dan is probably the smarted and most crafty houseguest to ever set foot into the BB house, and since you already mentioned the rest of the house was able to guess the next comp was an endurance challenge, Dan probably suspected production to throw a curveball to make it harder than the prior one, with adding cold rain being not too far away for a possibility since he was fan of the show, which could explains why he brought the rain jacket and gloves in the first place. Remember, we are talking who most consider THE BEST Big Brother player, and just being better dressed for the cold didnt automatically won him the HOH, he had to resort to cutting Oli a way too good deal (which Dan obviously didnt follow through) to get him to drop at the end, the rain jacket helped him in holding out longer, but in the end he still used his sharp wit and quick thinking to get Oli to drop. Is there a possibility Dan was slipped some info by production or overheard something? Maybe, but its also more than likely that Dan thought “the next endurance comp is probably more exhausting than the last, Im gonna dress rain proof since they like using cold rain for endurance comps and didnt do it for the first one”, remember that we are talking about the Magic Man who made a fake veto as a deterent to getting put up.
I feel like with Quinn, production probably just made a mistake and didn’t realize Quinn assumed he could vote until too late into the week. No other week in BB history has someone who made all of the the nominations themselves gotten a vote except for a tiebreak vote, and this includes Jeff (who overthrew an HOH) and Jag (who got to make nominees in secret). As Quinn’s power was basically those 2 powers combined, it makes the most sense that production would use the same rules here
I think you missed some major ones!! 1 – In BB15, Amanda was told by production to warn Aaryn about her racism, and this is the one I actually believe on this list because a lot of evidence aligns with it. First, Amanda was literally the first person to tell Aaryn about her racism, and, conveniently, she started warning her when the news outlets were covering it. Production themselves didn’t want to warn Aaryn cause it would’ve been considered game interference/giving outside info. Pre-BB15 rumors were going around that Amanda was a pre-chosen winner because she knew the executive producer. The theory is because she knew Alison, Alison told Amanda to warn Aaryn of her racism in order for Aaryn to stop saying racist things. 2 – The second BB25 veto was rigged for Jag/Matt to win. The veto was literally a reused competition that Matt won WITH an extra element that would benefit people with long arms (Matt/Jag). The theory is that production was afraid America could somehow win the HOH, and was scared Matt would go home as a FNOM. By the Facebook casuals, Matt was the only person left they were rooting for, to ensure they didn’t lose that half of there audience they made the POV easy to win for Matt/Jag to ensure Matt wouldn’t go home that week. 3 – The BB13 comeback competition was rigged for Brendon to come back. The problem with the BB13 comeback competition wasn’t the physical competition, but the way it was done. Instead of doing all 4 evicted players plus Lawon do the comeback competition, they instead did ONE player voted in by America to go against Lawon.
Here’s a few I still have: -In BB15, Amanda knew someone on production and was supposed to help her get far until she became problematic. -BB21 didn’t have a jury battle back because they didn’t want Jack a possibility to get back into the house. -In BB25 Matt cheated off of Jag’s answers during the Final HOH. Matt always answered after Jag and was looking around. -Lisa Donahue winner from BB3 was supposed to be on Survivor: The Australian Outback but dropped out and Tina Wesson took her spot. -Lawon in BB13 was allegedly paid off to be put on the block and voted off and used the superpower excuse as a coverup. -Dr. Will was brought to do the jury round table starting in season 15 because production was annoyed at Dan not winning season 14.
The Quinn Theory, could possibly be pointing out the big problem with reality tv where networks are relying too much on reality shows and causing them to have production rushed out(Looking at you Amazing Race) and shows flopping due to confusing marketing(which in turn is resulted from lack of time to consult proper marketing research)
Paloma got pulled from bb24 Ivette made the cast for 7 with the vote but got replaced cuz too many people from 6 were on (similar to your other conspiracy about Lisa) Production really didn’t care that Danielle didn’t win and more was worried about people being less truthful in bb4 in the DR if the jury could see them on tv.
This one likely doesn’t hold much weight and I don’t expect it to mean anything but I have a feeling Dr Will was chosen to mediate the jury roundtables to sway some jurors to vote a specific way. There’s likely a lot of cut content from those jury roundtables. I’m mainly thinking BB19 where he argues back to some of the points made by the anti-Paul group and even asks if they’re sore losers. Something I’ve always liked thinking about since Dr Will has been known for being very well spoken.
One of the theories I think was funny is actually a theory that Angela is Leah from the future who came to help her have a summer of her life right before Angelas 52 birthday next year (26 *2). The summer should have been actually a regret for Leah, she would get together with Matt into a showmance, be evicted early, but also marry him and she will not be happy. Leah/angela would actually create Ainsley who would transfer angela into a game instead of some not important houseguest, and she would start doing crazy things for Leah to have her best outcome of the summer… And angela would actually not have 52th birthday where she would be unhappy and lonely with only life of regrets. Thats why she voted out Matt immeadiatelly and continuously being unpredictable without real reason. In the end angela somehow managed to anger Ainsley this week (for real) and Ainsley decided to evict them both, even her creator Leah/Angela. But it is still better than what was the original outcome, and angela with Ainsley would dissappear into nothingness after the season is over 😁 (short version).
i feel like when you’re talking about why production would want to flip the vote onto cedric over rubina, you’re missing the showmance factor. even if they weren’t showing her too much, production loves their showmances, especially if they involve one of the biggest fan favorites we’ve seen in quite some time. i feel like it doesn’t hurt that her main content post-tucker has been all about tucker
1. No chance. Diana DEFINITELY meant to vote for Drew. 2. MUCH more likely that it was just poor production not explaining the rules than anything underhanded going on. 3. Dan said on the live feeds that he was cold and miserable during the first endurance comp. So I think he just planned better the second time, knowing that he could take the jacket off if he needed to. 4. 100% true. 5. 200% true.
I do believe that BB18-BB20 whether a jury Battle Back would have happened was determined with circumstances: BB18 wouldn’t had a Jury Battle Back if someone evicted had the Round Trip Ticket BB19 would of had a Jury Battle Back if no one returned to the game after the Battle Back showdown (BB19 also had one less week)
In Dans case, I could see it going either way- but it makes sense to expect a cold/wet endurance challenge at that point in the game! BB at that point had multiple examples of cold rain/splashing goo or similar in the middle of endurance comps and the players had been to multiple endurance comps throughout the season without those elements. Dan is smart enough to recognize the patterns BB had done and expect some kinda wet element, but I do think it’s definitely a bit suspicious looking not to bring the rainjacket to the prior endurance comp. The gloves in addition look even worse… but who knows!
this suggestion is reaching so hard, i just really wanna see 10.0 happen 🤣 the idea that production actually had two twists for BB26 depending on how houseguests answered for Ainsley—a second houseguest would move in if ten people said yes, and said houseguest would help play out the twists in the house (maybe even a return of the Saboteur in some form?), but in reality we got the twist that exists as an “AI” on the screen
I do not think production purposefully left the Deep Fake rules ambiguous for Quinn in BB26 because if you look at it Chelsie, Brooklyn, Quinn, Cam, and MAYBE joseph would keep Cedric and the rest would vote for Cedric meaning it would be a 5-5 vote and Angela WOULD cast the tie so she would 99.9 % send Cedric home. So it doesn’t really matter either way on who Quinn voted and I think if they would like to cause chaos they would make Angela break the tie and I think he was prob still going to volunteer anyway cause of how it does not really matter if Quinn voted or not.
I don’t remember which ones you did before but Will only agreeing to do all stars if boogie made the cast, Hayden targetting Annie for the dr inplying that she was the saboteur, Julie’s announcement in bb13 that made Lawon want to get evicted, the bb13 final 6 round, bb16 BotB competition that Frankie won, and Nicole getting Derrick kicked off bb22
Thanks. Always enjoy these articles, especially going in to older seasons. I think I may have asked about this before but I was curious about the second part of the BB7 F3 HOH – many fans at the time believed that part was rigged for a man due to the upper body strength aspect. I also don’t believe Diane meant to vote for Cowboy. She may have been hurt but not to that level.
I might’ve said this on an earlier article, but I believe that BB23 was supposed to have a triple eviction in week 10, instead of back-to-back doubles in weeks 9-10. This is because week 10’s eviction episode was a 2 hour episode. However because the double would’ve ruined the Cookout’s moment of all six of them making Final 6 (because 2 of them would’ve gone home that night), they made it back-to-back doubles in order for the moment to happen. I also remember people complaining about it at the time and suggesting the back-to-back DE, and so it is also possible that the potential backlash from a triple also played a part in that decision.
Here’s a couple conspiracies: 1. Kaitlyn didnt want to play the game anymore, so she didnt unintentionally fail the easy challenge, she just threw it so she could go home. That’s why she paused to cry while the timer was still counting. (Maybe she was so guilt ridden over Swaggy?) But the game clearly wasnt for her as we saw leading up to her eviction, so instead of trying her hardest, she just threw in the towel, unbeknownst to everybody. 2. Evel Dick, known notorious cheater, preordered the banner plane that flew over the endurance comp, but had one of his friends give him 2 targets and an ally (I think it read “We love Nick, Amber and Eric are liars.”). I think Nick was just evicted earlier that day iirc, so the message couldnt be changed, but Dick knew the only opportunity they’d have to fly a banner plane without a lockdown would be during an endurance comp.
My theory for this season is that Tucker and Angela were both production plants brought in just to stir up drama. The rigged competitions, 20k for virtually nothing and the other shows are just too convenient for them not to be. Angela literally bringing it up on the feeds just shows it even more imo.
I fully agree with the BB20 one, though my smoking gun is slightly different. Namely that the Bonus Life, which already is arguably the obvious choice to grab, is the only secret power in BB history I can think of that doesn’t just expire. Instead, the obvious choice for a power has a automatic activation. No other power has worked like that. Also, I remember seeing speculation that the Laser Mirror HOH comp in OTT wasn’t actually broken for Shelby inherently and that she broke it herself trying to rotate the mirrors. And then production let them redo the comp anyways to try and save the Ballsmashers
I’m sure if a BB20 eviction was canceled via bonus life victory, that they would’ve had a double eviction to kick off the jury phase. Similarly, if the battle back showdown of BB19 was to have a remaining player victory instead of an evicted player victory, that they also wouldn’t have kicked off the jury stage with a double eviction, but they did.
Don’t know if you covered this one or not, but do you remember when BB25 was just starting and there were rumors flying around that there were supposed to be 18 players instead of 16? Cirie was 17 but there were a ton of rumors of “a 18th secret houseguest” I even remeber Derek X’s name getting tossed around. Just a thought to look into, I could be extremely mistaken, its just from what I remember!
Here’s one that I have: The BB13 Battle back comp, was not supposed to ever happen! My theory for this is that back in week 1, Dick Danatio had to leave the game for a virus he had and they still evicted someone later that week, leaving an open hole in the season. I also don’t see why it could be a pre jury one as well because no one liked that pre jury. The comp looked like it was made last minute too. That’s why I think the BB13 Battle Back Competition, Was NEVER supposed to happen.
It wasn’t necessarily Cedric v Rubina, MJ was also in the mix and they made the decision before she won the AI arena. So they didn’t even know that. It was all strange and it made me think the opposite, that they wanted the alliance to be active and figure out that they didn’t actually have the votes. Who knows
Also tbh I never thought Quinn was gonna be able to vote, unless it was actually a secret, but it wasn’t at that point. I think in a sense you’re right, if he never told kimo, and tucker never believed angela he prob votes in that case but they all found out so i never had that thought Remember they still sent him to fake vote but maybe if no one knew they’d give him a real vote
fun theories i would love you to go over in the near future all are from bb24. i just rewatched this whole season and i give this season a b+. it would have been a- or an a but there were holes for me and these are all in order: • MARVIN GETTING REPLACED AT THE LAST MINUTE BECAUSE HE WAS ON AGT AND THE CIRLE: SELF EXPLANITORY • PALOMA’S DEPARTURE: I LOWKEY THINK SHE WAS EXPELLED AND PRODUCTION SWEPT THAT SHIT UNDER THE RUG TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE SHE HAD A MENTAL BREAKDOWN. IT NEVER MADE SENSE TO ME • THE REAL REASON NICOLE WAS CRYING: NICOLE CRYING ABOUT HAVING TO THROW A COMP MADE NO SENSE NOW FF TO NICOLE AND DANIEL SAYING TAYLOR IS NOT GOOD PERSON. I THINK GRODNER SAID SOMETHING TO HER ABOUT TAYLOR • MICHAEL’S EVICTION WAS SET UP BY PRODUCTION: OTHER THAN THE POOCH AND AMEERAH EVICTION AND MAYBE JOSEPH THERE NO EVICTION THAT SCREAMED WOW BUT EVICTING MICHAEL WAS A HUG RESUME BUILDER TOO AND PRODUCTION WAS STILL OFF AT HIM BRITTANY OVER THE KYLE SITUATION • THE JURY VS MICHAEL: NOW THIS SEASON HAD THE WORST JURY SEGMENTS EVER! I 100% BLAME PRODUCTION. I THINK KYLE MAY HAVE PULLED A PALOMA ON MICHAEL AND BRITTANY (MORESO MICHAEL) BECAUSE OF THE ALL WHITE ALLIANCE INCIDENT AND THE FACT THAT HE SAT ON THE INFO AND VETOED BRITTANY INSTEAD OF TAYLOR MAKING THE SITUATION EVEN WORSE. THEN INDY CLAIMED THAT MICHAEL WAS RACIST TOWARDS BRAZILIANS. BUT THE BIGGEST CLAIM OF THEM ALL WAS THERE WAS A FIGHT BETWEEN HIM AND TERANCE AND THAT TERANCE POSSIBLY PULLED A WILL SMITH ON MICHAEL. I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE SHOWED MORE THE JURY AND MICHAEL.
My theory is that production told the bb26 houseguests how to vote when they did the vote yes or no to Ainsley in the premiere. It just felt weird how the vote was split both times, the drs when they voted sounded really scripted, and they had so much stuff planned for later in the season that likely wouldn’t work if they voted Ainsley in. Also, Chelsie and Cedric, who got the punishments would’ve been easy targets for week 1 but neither of them touched the block, if this theory is true production might’ve promised them safety, or influenced for them not to go on the block in compromise for them getting punishments. Idk it all just seems kinda weird to me so I’d love if you’d check this theory out! Love your articles by the way keep up the good work!
It’s possible it’s already been covered I lost count but: the only reason the reset week was implemented in season 16 was to ensure Derrick wins the game Oh and another I’ve kinda sat in for awhile I’d like to hear opinions on: the leftover alliance and possibly even Taylor’s win was somewhat forced by production to make them look better after the first couple weeks
Can you do this controversy?: “This may not be 100% correct but what we think happened is this: Boogie and Frank were cheating with the POV Comp and someone, we think Joe, reported it to the DR. Joe said they told him they reviewed the tapes but the cheating didn’t change the outcome because Frank was already ahead. The feeds were not brought back for 7 hours and it took several days for us to get some of the details. We think Boogie could see the other players answers and told Frank. (Looking in the mirrored windows? I’m not clear on that.) This morning at 1:am PDT, on the feeds Boogie admitted that he changed his count number and whether to fold or not fold. He said the first one was legal and the other wasn’t and they busted him on it. So he says.” “brit is awake and talking to ashley.. says that she thought frnak was going to be out on the one that jenn was out at.. brit i didnt know who was going till danielle said it Ashley: joe was saying frank and mike were cheating.. i didnt see that did you see that? and FISHIES” I remember when looking at the feed recaps that joe did say production admitted that frank cheated in the dr, let me find it. Jenn mentioned that it wasnt the first time something like this happened in the oral history but idk if they cheated or not
