What The Purpose Of Witchcraft Is?

Intention is a focused desire with an agenda, stronger than a wish. It is a descriptive statement communicated clearly and specifically about what you want from the spell or desired outcome from the magic. Intent is a crucial component of spell casting in witchcraft, as it is the underlying energy that manifests a spell. Intent is the conscious decision and focus that gives meaning and purpose to the words, actions, and ingredients used in a spell. Crafting a powerful statement of intent involves clarity, specificity, and emotional resonance to effectively guide your magical work.

Intent plays a pivotal role in witchcraft, as it allows for the power of focusing on a desire, goal, or wish with the express purpose of bringing that desire about. Magic is more than just mere intent; it requires the support of guides, ancestors, and any deities. A spell is a chant by witches that is supposed to summon spirits to use magic on someone. Love has the power to change the outcome of a spell.

Intention leaves a little more wiggle room for magick to work in ways that may not have anticipated. For example, a witch who sets intentions can improve their spells and manifestations. Avery Hart, a witch, chaos magician, and occultist, has devoted 15 years to the study of all things witchcraft and occultism. Hannah Thomas, a Drake University junior practicing witchcraft and identifying as a Wicca, also practices witchcraft.

In today’s video we will be deep diving into intent – what it is, how to work with it, and where to go next. This is a skill that every …

What is the true meaning of intent?

The term “concentrated” is defined as a state of focused attention on a specific object, goal, or intention. In addition, the term may be used to describe the intention to commit a wrongful or criminal act, as well as the state of mind with which an act is done.

What is the difference between wish and intent?

Intentions are deliberate decisions made to achieve specific outcomes, often with a plan and commitment to act. In contrast, wishes are desires or hopes without a plan or commitment to make them happen.

What is the intent of manifestation?

Intention manifestation is the belief that what you intend is what you manifest, either subconsciously or consciously. It is a powerful tool that can help you spiritually, mentally, financially, and socially. It is interconnected with the Law of Attraction, but some people have grown into a bias against it due to the popularity of the book and movie “The Secret”.

Intention manifestation can help you accomplish anything you can successfully intend, especially when it comes to visualization. Visualizing and performing intention manifestation can improve your outlook on the future and self-esteem. It all depends on you, your thoughts, and your desire. For example, if you want to become strong and self-reliant, you can use intention manifestation to connect with your primary religious figure. All it takes is your thoughts and a little time to achieve these results.

What is manifest intent?

Manifest intent is the state of mind someone has when they do something, especially if it’s something they’re not supposed to do. It’s the mental decision they make in their head to do it, even if they didn’t actually do it yet. Manifest intent can be determined by their words or actions, even if they didn’t say it outright. For example, if someone takes something they don’t own and plans to keep it forever, they have a “larcenous intent”. Understanding intent is crucial as it helps determine if someone did something wrong on purpose or by accident.

When the intent to do an act that violates the law exists, motive becomes immaterial. For example, if someone steals something from a store, their manifest intent is to take something that doesn’t belong to them, even if they had a good reason for doing so.

What is an example of intent?

The speaker’s actions indicate an intention to take some form of action, as evidenced by their spending of approximately half the morning on the telephone, which was not their initial intention. Furthermore, the defendants were charged with possessing weapons with the intent to endanger life.

What does intent mean spiritually?

Intention setting is a crucial practice for changing behaviors and ingraining new habits. It gives meaning to daily actions and helps gain control of life by setting clear, personal, and internally motivated goals. When aligned with personal beliefs and not influenced by external factors, committing to these intentions feels more rewarding and less like a chore. To set intentions, start by asking yourself who you want to become, what it will take to achieve this, and how the new version of yourself will differ from the current person. Create specific, achievable intentions to achieve your goals.

How do you write a spiritual intention?

When setting an intention for a spiritual journey, it is important to phrase it as something you can be in charge of, in the present tense, and focus on the “vibe” it will give you. Keep it in a place where you look often and keep it to yourself. While you may not fully know what to expect, letting go of control and allowing your feelings to unfold is crucial. However, having an intention is not the same as having no purpose or intention. It can be helpful when you feel lost and confused, acting as a life raft and reminding you of why you are in this “mess”.

What is the concept of intent?

Intention and intent are synonyms, but they differ in their emphasis. Intention refers to a general desire or plan to accomplish something, while intent is a firm resolve to achieve it. Intent can be used as a noun or adjective, and can be used as a noun or adjective. Intent can also refer to an anticipated outcome or guide for planned actions. In philosophy, intent refers to the end or purpose of a thing or process.

How do you set an intention?

To set clear intentions, take time to reflect and write, create a physical space for clarity and peace, start with the why, make it feel doable, clear, memorable, and repeatable, ask a trusted person to be an intention buddy, and give yourself an intention ritual. In 2020, life happened when we made other plans, and we may have had to adjust those resolutions and goals as well. Setting intentions based on our values can serve as an anchoring baseline, while goals are more specific and measurable.

It’s up to you whether to make changes for the next year or continue the good from this one. Some fun and peaceful ways to get clear on and set intentions include taking time to reflect and write, creating a peaceful space with no distractions, and asking yourself questions about yourself and your values.

  • I actually can’t visualize things. I always thought I was broken. I did eventually discover that I can ‘sense’ quite easily. If I’m meditating, I can sense where I am, I can feel, smell and hear the forest I’m in in my meditations. I can sense my intent and it actually works so well! I’m glad you’re talking about it!

  • I agree that believing that a spell will work on some level is absolutely essential. As far as intention, releasing a strong emotion is better than a weak one. Finally, I have almost always had success with incantations put to rhyme. I’m don’t consider myself to be a gifted poet, but anyone can make up a little ditty for a spell. Wishing you success with your book. Blessings.

  • I just found out that I have Aphantasia. I can’t see with a mind’s eye. So visualization in a traditional way is completely out of the question for me. So I am so glad you are covering this. I’m still very much learning how to go about it and learn to he the witch I want to be. I was so excited for you book but now I can’t wait!

  • I was listening to this while lying down outside enjoying nature, which was not something I’d done in a long time and being in FL I was complete surrounded by birds. I then noticed about three birds high high way up in the sky (larger birds) and I playfully imagined being about to bring one of those birds to me with my intent (not something I do often either). Next thing I know there’s a HAWK outside my door! Just waiting on a trellis, and it was just perched almost like protecting. It also had another meaning for me in terms of an animal totem. Thank you Annie for helping me unlock this with your beautiful words ❤

  • I got your book for Christmas! It’s a beautiful book. Thank you. perusal you gives me peace. After finding out that I have cancer,it’s harder to calm the mind. I would love to join your patreron, but my cancer has no cure but cost way to much for a normal old lady. Blessings to you and thank you for being you.

  • Thank you so much!!! I think that will be my whole October, practicing Intent!!!! I teared up a bit at the end because I realized how beautiful witchcraft is and really believing in myself that I am a witch. It feels, well, magickal! Blessed be Annie! I am excited for your book and I am happy for your success!

  • Your book has arrived this morning (in the UK) and its everything I was hoping for and more. I’ll have an in depth read tomorrow but I can see just from a skim through that it will be a huge help to me. Love your content, love your style. You are, i’m sure an inspiration to many, as you are to me. I’m finding this spellcraft series totally absorbing. Please keep doing what you do, you do it so well👍👍👍😊😊😊

  • Wow, this is wonderful ❤ I’ve never heard this explained so well. You put it into words – the feeling of magic moving through you. The sensation. I’m in awe. I feel like this one article has helped me understand my own practice more than anything else I’ve found online. I feel stronger. I needed this. It’s clear that anytime you’ve spent pulling back from making articles was truly time well spent. You’re more wise. More confident. You’re truly a witch, and a teacher of witchcraft. Wow. I’m so lucky to follow you. I can’t wait for the book and more of your teachings. Thank you ❤❤❤

  • So thankful for your content. Besides the obvious, being that you explain things in a very understandable way, I also get such a sense of calm from your articles. Actually, I had been perusal this while anxious last night, and actually had fallen asleep twice which is crazy 😂 rewatching this morning, and it gave me a sense of peace before heading into work. I also appreciate the encouragement, giving us hope that it’s okay if we don’t quite get it at first. Anyway- it’s early and that may have not made good sense, but I wanted to say thank you! And also that I’m ordering and can’t wait to read ☺️

  • Thank you for this wonderful article. I’ve been practising since before you were born. I’m solitary, communicative both as an author and as a companion or colleague in varying degrees, but I’m not a teacher. You are, though. You are a naturally gifted teacher, wise, calm, and hugely helpful to anyone who takes the time to listen, regardless of our existing knowledge and experience. There’s always something here. Thank you and bless you.

  • Hi Annabel, I am new to the craft by about half a year. I am still trying to figure out my craft but all of your articles suggest that I might be a blue witch (a witch who commits herself to multiple different kinds of craft along with her coven). I cannot wait to learn more about herbs and everything and as soon as your book comes out here in England, then I will have it. I cannot wait to start my witchy journey with your help!

  • its kind oif strange for me the first time I really noticed intent was back in the early 1990s when I was doing my Set of Tai Chi I was in the front yard slowly moving then it happened a feeling that I rarely feel I mean rarely and as I was slowly moving I could feel it moving through my body after I finished my set I started to notice things all around a connection to nature I did another set and same thing happened but a little more, it has started with me even now, the thing is I am very sure that connection is intent or part of it, sort of like being lost in a good book you look at the clock and its hours later intention has no time . I also think we all practice some kind of witch craft, the first time I did intention I used what I learned through Tai Chi and Chi Gong and for me it helps, I enchanted a couple of my silver rings for protection one for sensing\\feeling . I think that everyone should use what feels natural to them so as to not push or force but flow like a stream. I also think that Witch craft at least true witch craft isn’t forced it a apart of nature it has energy and one should never force the energy of nature but manipulate it just a little, slightly changing the direction of a stream with a nudge . but again these are what I have found also I have only been intentionally practicing off and on also mixing it my soft martial arts ways for maybe a couple years . Of Course I live in Canada so I guess the book will arrive in late Dec or early Jan

  • 🌲🍀🐾🎓🦉your description of your visualization of the energy welling up from within you, is in accordance with what True Witchcraft is about. “. . .no matter what charms or amulets are used, nor what words are spoken, True Magick Comes From WITHIN”. Or, so I’ve read. Like I said in some your other articles, You’re the real deal Annabel🧝‍♀️😎💚🦉🎓🐾🍀🌲.

  • i´ve been writing intents for my new tarot cards! (or is it oracle, who cares) because there´s 77 cards i went crazy and wanted 77 different intents 🙂 also 77 different sounds and 77 different actions (when you pull this card you should blow it or shake it). anything 77 i can think of i will add to this deck, and that´s why it will suck! also i´ve noticed some of the older cards are too negative, possibly because times were harder then? i looked from my own tradition, the ratio between positive and negative intents was like 6:1.. so that´s how it will also be in my cards (actually it was lower, i just have to fit everything with the number of cards). i think if you go more negative then your culture might be filled with negativity (as we know misery loves company).

  • Oh my goodness girl I have just got started. I had no idea for the first 50 years of my life but I was born a witch. There is an entity. In my home and I can’t get rid of it. It is ripping my guts out and shoving my insides out of me avd causing me headaches where I can’t concentrate to learn what to do. I have been so hacked that I have no access to money. I am seriously about to just give up my mother husband avd grandfather ail just died. My husband was the love of my life. I loved my mother and grandfather dearly as well but it was my husband’s death that is tearing me apart right now and this entity will not allow me to have the time to heal. I do just need to heal. This ebtity has been messing with me for months now. I didn’t know what it was at first. I didn’t know I was a wutch. I don’t know what kinda entity it is. I know it has a fly with it that annoys the shit out of me. I want to cuss so much worse. I am not nice at all. I am the worst bitch in the world and I am not likr this. This entity has taken all my love and forgiveness. All I have is bitterness and the need for sex all the time. I have to have constant supply of men. It’s like my front door is a revolving door. I literally quit locking it and started telling them to just walk in . That’s terrible.

  • so if my intent in drawing a symbol on something is to protect it than as long as I still have energy it should work, but I also gotta be careful what I choose cuz something like the Chinese symbol for end, expiration, and death ( 终 ) would do a pretty shitty job at protecting things. aight hol up I need to take some notes real quick this seems important!

  • Well well well look who we have here an amazing person to bring joy and wonders to us, I love this website and everything it stands for including you and I hope your doing well and I’m not just talking to blueraven no I’m talking to everyone here I love all of you guys. I have a question too: if you could create a world in your own image what would you create?

  • Yay! A new 101! I wish I could start using protection jars to ease spiritual draining because I could sure use it as I wrap up my final semester before graduation, but I haven’t started practicing yet and am still learning XP I also struggle with meditation because my mind wanders a lot. But this shall be helpful for the future! Also I have a question unrelated to the article but is something I am curious about: Is there any sort of significance or meaning to starting your cycle on a full moon???

  • In this lesson, Blue Raven will be covering energy and intent. First, let’s go over spiritual energy and what exactly it is and does. Truthfully, there’s no easy way to describe it. Spiritual energy transcends beyond the sensations where physically, mentally and emotionally familiar with. Have you ever felt completely drained or empowered for a time but couldn’t exactly explain why? Not in body or in mind but it just sort of feels like it’s there in a way? Chances are there’s something around you that’s affecting your spiritual energy. For lack of a better term, your spiritual energy refers to the energy of your soul. It tends to flow like a complex network going to and from the things around us, both in our physical world and the astral realm. A number of things could impact one’s spiritual energy including other people, places, spirits and deities, stones and crystals, essential oils and herbs, certain times of the month and year, and even the flow or Feng Shui of your own home can impact your spiritual energy as well. Okay, Raven, that’s a lot of stuff to keep in mind. Now what in the world does intent have to do with all of that? Well intent has to do with the flow of spiritual energy and where we choose to focus it during witchcraft. Think of it like an electrical circuit. Your spiritual energy is the power source and your intent is the wires and switches directing its flow. Every single person on this earth contains one of these circuits, whether they practice witchcraft or not.

  • Perhaps you could give us a supplement article regarding the types of energy that exist and that you can use? As well as how one might sense their own. I didn’t know what my aura was until an ex told me it was a Healing Aura. While I do try to nurture my aura accordingly and believe him…we don’t even speak anymore. Not to mention the guy had multiple personalities and told me to call them by their names. Only ever met one, and he did wanna be called by name, just had no idea what the name was. He also had a demon stuck to him after summoning it years before, but apparently my aura caused it to fuck off. I only asked about my aura because he told me he could read them. I know you don’t answer many questions on YouTube Raven, but I REALLY don’t trust TikTok and I have no desire to download the app. Not even for the hidden good eggs. Please just respond to this one, I really want to be sure he wasn’t just bullshitting me. I need certainty about my aura and energy. If there’s anything you can tell me, please let me know. I have no other means of asking you, as you have no Discord(which I didn’t use when you did have one because I had severe doubts I’d get in it with how restricted access was). I also don’t have Twitter and never will. Don’t trust anyone on it and want NO PART in politics or petty ass drama. I do have Facebook and Tumblr though. Tumblr name is the same as the one I use here. And I’m not comfortable sharing my name from Facebook as it’s my real name. Would change it too, but that’s a conversation I don’t wanna have with anyone.
