Is Crowley in love with Aziraphale?
In the S2 finale, Crowley and Aziraphale confess their love for each other but pretend they are not a couple. They have said “I love you” in their own language before, but in the S2 finale, they never say it in normal human words. This is because they have euphemisms for it and have made it enough. Crowley found a middle ground between the words and their coded language with one another in S2, which is flying under the radar.
In the scene when Muriel interrupts Crowley and Aziraphale talking in the back room, Aziraphale suddenly looks happy and delighted, as Crowley looks hot, in profile, and taking charge of the situation. He knows that Aziraphale likes them and gets them all the time. Crowley cracks a dark joke for Aziraphale, knowing Muriel won’t get it. Since Muriel is cosplaying as a human Inspector Constable and they are here to verify the miracle Aziraphale has told Heaven and are monitoring them, Crowley quips that Muriel is here to spy on them, as many human police officers like to make a hobby out of spying on “people in love”. This highlights the dangers of using language and euphemisms to express love.

Is Crowley based on Bill Nighy?
Tennant’s Crowley is a lanky figure, reminiscent of Bill Nighy, while Sheen is a fussy and flustered character. The friendship between the two characters is the true subject of Good Omens, and both actors chart its progress in different ways. Tennant’s insouciance gradually erodes to reveal the affection beneath it, while Sheen’s nervous, feckless worrying eventually abrades into defiant resolve. The plot suggests that the two decide to work together to defend humanity from divine caprice, but the performances make it clear that what each entity is fighting for is one another and the bond they’ve forged.
Frances McDormand plays the Voice of God, which is a brilliant casting choice, but the critic’s ability to maintain a dispassionate critical distance in the evaluation of the work at hand seems like cheating.

LOOK 👏🏻 AT 👏🏻 THAT 👏🏻 TIMING. I work in amateur-to-semi-professional theater and the number one detriment to a show’s pace is when actors fail to pick up their lines in a timely manner. Notice how Michael and David almost seem to overlap one another? That’s now it’s supposed to sound. Granted, it’s typically between different characters (not multiple actors reading the same character), but the point still stands.
I saw David & his understudy as he had to take a brake after badly hurting his back- then returned bounding with energy. Sheen was very different you sort of felt his pain & how lost he was, I wanted to give him a hug & protect him- end was nice twist. By Tennant’s was when it was crazy Who fan time with as many lined up to see him after as were inside the RSC. I saw DT yrs before in Stratford “Comedy of Errors” then “Romeo & Juliet” next year. Both showed off there acting talents, would recommend seeing them live (theatre) & Good Omens is great they work so well together. I wish there was more as the characters fit them so well, I hope they work together again soon- the show has an amazing cast, maybe why it seemed to take so long to finish. Need to re-watch.
This just makes me think of Michael on David’s podcast, when they were talking about how much they hate doing press, and being prisoner to everyone’s great, hilarious ideas and basically feeling like they’re just being told “DANCE YA FUCKIN MONKEY!!” Of course they were very charming here and seem to be doing their best to not let the tedium show. As a viewer it’s fun to watch, but I cannot possibly see them doing press and not see that other element to it now. 😂 Poor guys! I would hate it.
