When In A Horoscope Is Saturn Cruel?

Saturn, the “taskmaster of the zodiac”, is a significant planet in astrology that plays a crucial role in shaping one’s destiny. Its influence can manifest as obstacles, delays, or limitations, demanding patience and diligent effort to overcome hurdles. Saturn is often referred to as the life coach or personal trainer, as it tends to be “cruel” to be kind.

Saturn’s retrograde period from July 12, 2025, at 1°56′ Aries, to November 27, 2025, at 25°09′ Aries, can bring relief from pressure and fear. It can manifest as obstacles, delays, or limitations, demanding patience and diligent effort to overcome hurdles. However, the rewards reaped from navigating these challenges are significant.

Saturn is the planet of limits, lesson, responsibility, and karma, traveling in the sign of Pisces from June 29 to November 15, 2024. This retrograde period can bring relief from pressure and fear, as Saturn can show up as cruel or overly rigid authority figures or a fear of authority in others and oneself.

Saturn’s psychological aspects include its exaltation up to 20 degrees in the Libra zodiac sign, which can lead to being tall, famous, and independent. The end of Saturn retrograde 2021 will affect every zodiac sign in a major way, with the exact Saturn Return occurring at the age of 29.

Saturn is the “task master” planet, ruling Capricorn, who are ambitious, hard-on-themselves, and conscientious people. In 2024, Saturn’s retrograde will take place in Pisces, the empathic, sensitive, psychic mutable water sign, requiring meditative, self-reflective practices.

One of the most significant transits in 2024 begins on June 29 to November 15, 2024, when Saturn moves backwards in the sign of Aquarius. This retrograde may impact various zodiac signs such as Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Aries, and Cancer.

  • Everyone thinks that responsibility is about work and money, getting that new car, new house, etc. but it’s not. That’s ALOT of what I have read when I was going through my return, so I thought and worked my ass off. But I lost everything I worked hard for during my return. I have Saturn in Sagittarius 9th house, and what I learned, what Saturn taught me, was my old beliefs and new beliefs, mainly about how “blood” isn’t “thicker than water”. And how I shouldn’t be slaving away for other people. Those were sad times, not gonna lie. But I did learn and Saturn made me have clarity. That’s what it teaches. To be “real” about wherever it sits in the person’s chart. And have full clarity in that arena. If you make it out of this return, you’ll finally be able to breathe. A true breath of fresh air. I wish and pray all the best for y’all who are going through it. Put your seatbelts on! Hang tight and stay strong!

  • I also tend to think that Saturn gives rewards when you do things properly and switch up from the victim mode, to responsible mode. Things matter when you cherish reality when you do practical things and you are thankful for whatever you accomplish no matter how big or how small that accomplishment is. I have Saturn my first house in Sagittarius and Scorpio Rising and those theories that I have mentioned are real and they work every single time.

  • I’ve subscribed to you off and on over ther years, and after studying Western Tropical Astrology, I’ve decided IT was created to confuse us. So thankful for you! My western was a stellium (with moon in Aries/cancer Asc) bow I have 4 planets in Pisces, still have mars in the 12th, so you can imagine. Thank you!💞

  • Bang on ma’am!!! Saturn has made me spiritual..after my Sade Sati.. Its taught me to be real.. Its the time to evolve..being Libra moon..saturn has been very rewarding for all the hard work and heaviness i have had to endure. Hence, now, after that teaching, kandaka shani or saturn in 4th house from moon has been more easy, enlightening and rewarding! 🙏

  • Oh precious, I got the notification right on time. The effect of my Saturn Return hasn’t worn off yet and since I procrastinated for a long time without actual practical plans and proper execution, Saturn really threw me in a dark pit like nothing I’ve ever experienced before. Thank goodness I finally learned. Thank in advance for the insightful article! 🌿🍃

  • With saturn conjunct my natal moon, Saturn return and sade sati occur together for me. I’m in the final stages with Saturn retro in Capricorn where my Saturn, moon and ketu are conjunct in Shravana. I’m coming into my Saturn-moon dasha and have been experiencing increase in psychic abilities. A lot more has also happened during this return, but I took it pretty much all in stride, I accepted what was and followed the directions I felt I needed to go. I have been on a long journey of healing, growing, and becoming.

  • My mom was diagnosed with Cancer on her Saturn Return mind you, her Natal Saturn is a Sat-RX in her 5th house of Sag! She’s Leo, but her fighting is like the Tarot Card Force depiction! And the truth of your teaching is it was on her 60th birthday! And yes she doesn’t seem to want to grow up yet, but I cherish her just the way she’s and won’t want her otherwise…

  • Hi, I have to tell you, as you were doing the article I saw an alternate dimension where you are an Atlantian from Atlantas. You were doing this exact wisdom you impart on us. I saw you with hair the color of crystalline sparkle, you were y’all around 6′ 7 almost look God-like. Thank You for telling you my vision.

  • That Saturn return doesn´t work with people, like me, who have their Sun and Mercury in the 3rd. house. We don´t kill ouselves at the age of 27 but we don´t grow up neither !!! I´m 64 years old but I still feel inside myself like a 7 or 8 years old boy. I studies in 5 universities in 4 different countries and I got a Master degree in agricultural chemestry; I speak 8 languages and I´ve travelled to more than 20 countries in 3 different continents. I have 3 grown up children and a granddaughter. But all that was just a fun for me, not serious isues !!! When I realized that I came to this world naked and I won´t take anything or anyone with me when I´ll pass away, I understood that nothing really matters in this world, so what´s the point in taking things seriously !!! All what can have any sense if it´s possible is to enjoy every moment that we are here !!!

  • I barely survived my Saturn return that coincided with Covid pneumonia. Barely made it. Saturn return is no fun… And it was the second- supposed to be ” lighter”. No such luck… Saturn and Mars square my sun from both sides… Plus my moon is in the same sign as Saturn..I am seriously wondering what would it be at the next one…
