In Skyrim, the Illusion skill is a powerful tool used by mages to manipulate enemies and allies. It can be found in various locations, such as the Hall of Attainment and the Hall of Countenance. Teachers at the Mage College in Winterhold can help you obtain every spell in your respective magic skill. However, they won’t have books available until your skill level with magic is high enough.
Illusion spells allow you to cause fear, incite rage, pacify, or bolster creatures of a certain level. Purchasing perks in this skill tree will increase the maximum level of affected creatures and allow your spells to influence them. To use Illusion spells from Novice to Master level, you can find information on effects, costs, and descriptions. Drevis Neloren, the Expert Mage of Illusion, can teach and train you up until the Expert Level.
To unlock Master Illusion spells, the “Illusion Ritual Spell” quest must be completed upon reaching level 100. Spells in the school of Illusion can be found at the College of Winterhold, court wizards at Whiterun, and various mages at the College of Winterhold.
To learn magic, you can visit the Court Wizard Farenger, who sells many books for learning magic. Three recommended books include Dancing Lights, Minor Illusion, Color Spray, Disguise Self, and Self Distort Value.
