Where Does Stephanie Soo Obtain Her Ideas On Conspiracies?

Stephanie Kemmerer, a mother who became embroiled in conspiracy theories, was able to overcome her fear of herself and others by understanding the need for understanding and certainty. Conspiracy theories provide vague yet internally consistent explanations for events, which can help people keep calm and confront falsehoods. Some influencers in wellness communities are using their platforms to promote conspiracy theories, and a new study has found no evidence that people’s beliefs in conspiracy theories increase over time.

Conspiration theories can reveal a lot about what’s going on in our societies, from political upheavals to anxieties about sex, technology, and women. Some influencers in wellness communities are using their platforms to promote conspiracy theories, and a new study has found no evidence that people’s beliefs in conspiracy theories increase over time. They can even change their minds – just by adopting the saying, “there is no such thing as bad publicity”.

Food eating artists aggressively seek audiences through clickbait titles, and food-eating celebrities use the saying, “there is no such thing as bad publicity”, to gain attention. Four studies indicate that conspiracy belief is driven by readiness to draw implausible causal connections even when events are not random. Nikocado Avocado has been accused of tricking the internet again, with fans now debating whether he really lost 250 pounds or was it all pre-recorded.

In conclusion, conspiracy theories can be undermined with the right strategies and understanding. By understanding the reasons behind conspiracy theories and recognizing the signs of conspiracy, individuals can better navigate the world of disinformation and counteract their beliefs.

  • You know what I love about this podcast the cohost is a representation of the audience. His reactions of surprise and questions are literally as if I’m sat their listening to you myself. Please keep the cohost not informed of the stories prior as it gives this out of every other true crime story telling podcast it’s uniqueness. He’s genuinely a perfect fit to complete and compliment you in how you deliver a story Ste

  • It finally makes sense why the government failed so much with the Sewol Ferry Tragedy. From filling the boat with oxygen (after they were already told that wouldn’t do anything) to covering up the truth. I always thought the government was acting sketchy. They could’ve saved more kids if the rescue operation wasn’t botched

  • These events are so traumatic the way they are portrayed in news media. I didn’t learn a lot about any of these tragedies because I was avoiding being traumatized. Thank you for making these articles with your husband, this format is so comforting and therapeutic while also being very informative so that I can learn and be informed in what I feel is a safe space. You make it so that we don’t feel alone and afraid when listening/watching, thank you so much for the tears we’ve all shared parasocially.

  • I really applaud you for taking on these topics that are so touchy. And your episodes are so well researched and delivered so thoughtfully, empathetically, and in such a way where you bring topics from all over to everyone. You rarely hit the youtube trend topics, bringing new and old things up to offer always in ways that make them freshly appealing. I truly hope your website breaks through the youtube algorithm soon because you deserve to go places and get recognition for all your work! Thank you so much for your website! Your articles are a real treat! And you have a real inner and outer shine <3 And a great talent.

  • Makes me question everything. If the company that handle Sewol company doesnt really care bout safety and doesnt even give proper training to the crew… Then any companies that are handle by the same person/group, where they claim their products are organic or for safety thing… was it really safe? Was it really organic? We live in such a scary world.

  • 6:56 yes!! I’m so glad you’re covering this! I was hoping you’d cover the other cases from the documentary!! I only watched it bc of the first case you covered then I couldn’t stop perusal!! I hadn’t heard of it before perusal your article so thank you!! It’s all so fascinating and frightening!!! 🙏🏽❤️👏🏽

  • Omg this episode was IMO the best work Stephanie has done. I know it’s hard for her legally to do these kinds of kinds of articles. Also safety reasons. I could watch 5 hours of her talking about this. Can’t wait till Wednesday 💚 (edited) as for the people complaining about people “simping” for Stephanie in the comments, and not talking about the cases or things she is covering. What would you like commenters to do ? Stephanie works hard as heck to do these articles. She is an amazing orator. And she adds a real life touch to story telling. I’ll always love and support her.

  • I just wanna say how much I love your articles. I’m a new fan and I just really love your content. I love how detailed it is and it just shows how much research you did. My mom loves listening to you too cos of how good your voice is and how good you narrate these stories. It’s not just the facts of the cases but also the emotional side of it. I found myself crying in some of your articles. 🥺 Thank you so much for your hard work! 😊

  • You also have to cover the fact that Moon Geun Hye, the president during Sewol Ferry is also a member of the Salvation Sect and how the captain who drove the boat (but escaped),and the Korean Coast Guard president are all members of the Salvation Sect and how they staged the boat “accident” but it was actually a mass sacrifice of 300 young children. We don’t have enough evidence of this, but as a Korean, this is the only logical (?) explanation of why those children had to die.

  • As a Christian, I believe that everyone should strive to be a better person all the time, but I don’t think it’s “a race to be perfect before the apocalypse.” I think that if I’m at God’s judgment seat, I’ll want to have done my best to be the best person I can be. I don’t want to be the person that stresses about being thrust down to hell for any or every mistake i make, because it’s not a good way to live. I’d rather live with hope, and I think that should ALWAYS be the focus of religion. NOT doom and gloom.

  • With her description as obviously not a mother of orphans in English would be something like” a severe looking woman”. That matches how you explained the meaning of the Korean word. Hope that helps you. Note I’m only saying to help as I myself speak two languages and struggle sometimes with equivalent words. And I like when people help me learn new words.

  • When I saw that Stephanie posted this article, I was shocked. I only knew briefly about the case on a local YouTube website called “Ready Set Bro” (A Singaporean YT website). Talking about the 5 Oceans company mainly. I did not think the case would have gone this deep. So thank you for going further in depth with this case!! I’m so happy to learn so much more about different case from different POVs! Thank you Stephanie!!!

  • oh my god this case is so complicated… I was originally washing the dishes while listening to Stephanie but I got so lost I had to repeat some parts over and over again to understand what was going on hahaha Thank you Stephanie for covering such a dark story and essentially risking getting sued for us hahaha WE LOVE U BISS

  • The way she talks about these cases make her articles so addicting, ive always loved true crime but after listening to her ive found a whole new love for it that I cant explain . She knows exactly how to tell a captivating story, and the fact that she covers cases like this is why i have so much admiration for Rotten Mango

  • I don’t know how you do these podcasts and research over and over again without having any psychological effect on you. Please take a break to decompress, these are truly depressing and sad stories. I’ve listened to about 3/4 so far and I am not able to listen anymore without some break. You are a great storyteller. Be well.

  • Thank you so much for being mindful and fair in differentiating that cult from real Christianity. As a Christian, I appreciate that. Every denomination of Christianity agrees that you need to repent. You can’t be a practicing murderer and go to heaven. You can be forgiven, but God expects you to repent. You’re awesome. Since I subbed two days ago, I’ve been listening to your stories before bedtime…..like mystery bedtime stories.😆

  • I came across this case just few weeks ago and then read about Yoo Byung-eun on his Wikipedia. Guys, I tell you I never read something with this much denial and dickriding on Wiki page of a such controversial figure that linked to this kind of crimes. Must be one of his church followers writing that shit. I’m worry about Stephanie for covering this.

  • I actually have a theory about what might have happened in that 32 people incident. I think it could have been park and the no face billionaire doing business but when he knew she has starting being a liability he got rid of him and her through his church members. So she resisted but people in that incident might have been forced to take what they were given if they didn’t want the other people in the attic that could’ve been their family to die or be r@ped.

  • Can people in the comments pls be respectful and talk about the victims and crimes that happened in the article? Like I get that it’s surprising that JYP is connected to a criminal case, but does no one find it more troubling and crazy that the 32 bodies were arranged methodically and that a billionaire family with so much corruption is able to maintain anonymity in the general public? Government officials, large business owners, and the police all seems to be in on covering the billionaire… so shady

  • If i were to make a wild conspiracy assumption…Sounds like a body dressed up and staged to look like Yoo Byung-eun. The fact they first assumed it was a homeless man and didn’t recognise him, why would he carry his own book and Quack shark liver pills with him…. can a corpse really decompose that much in 2 weeks. I find it plausible to believe a clever and ruthless crook, with billionaire pockets and influence in the government and justice system might be able to fake his death to the public.

  • The once saved always saved argument actually comes up a lot with Christians. My dad stopped going to a couple of churches because they believed that and also argued with people over it. Different Protestant groups would fight over it even 2 churches of the same sect like 2 baptist churches or even diff Catholic Churches agree argue about it.

  • I remember at some point there were articles about JYP having a newborn daughter from his young/new wife (from a rich family) and everyone who’s into KPOP was surprised since it was out of the blue but also when you search her up, you just can’t find any major info about her or pictures and it felt weird… I remember that I really wanted to see if she’s as beautiful as they claim lol… but now after that episode it makes sense but also wth! On a second note, I’ve been obsessed with your website recently and the way you tell the stories are enjoyable and your friend’s interaction is similar to the viewers too… so thank you for entertaining me while working hahaha… Keep it up!

  • I like how your doing cases that would usually have to be translated that are hard to find things on there’s a lot we don’t know about Korea or Asian countries because if there is anything on a lot of the stuff that happens in certain parts of the country… it’s not really translated most of the time unless it’s widely spread, so thanks for doing that. keep up the good work. I haven’t heard of most of these cases I’ve seen so far which is rare for me because I watch True Crime topics all the time and still haven’t heard of some of these yet I think one time you said you had to go find a translator that’s the Philippines one of those episodes because you didn’t even know maybe some of the languages so you had a translator trying to help you out which a lot of people don’t do that and maybe that’s why I haven’t really heard of many of these, but thanks for putting it into English for us. I tried learning different languages but I’m one of those people that has a learning disability and I could never learn a second language fluently, but I do have a half brother from Indonesia and I have been to Indonesian and Singapore before for work, but I have no idea about any crime stories from those places mostly because they’re never translated.

  • Absolutely heartbreaking. I didnt find the relation between this and S ship sinking. As an ARMY, now I’m wondering if this is the reason why 875 depicted a mountain of clothes in their 🌸🌞 MV. As you said, people with power and money do as they please and the rest oslf us are collateral damage, which is absolutely heartbreaking.

  • I remember when the Sewol Ferry tragedy happened & there were ppl trying to link JYP to it. Others would say he has nothing to do w/it, his wife is actually the one that owns it/has ties to the company. At the time I think I didn’t even know JYP was married because like you said there weren’t any pictures of them & I never really heard it mentioned before. I looked recently like in the past couple years around the anniversary of the tragedy to see if he was married & I could’ve sworn I read he wasn’t. Now I can see that he still is. It’s all very confusing & muddled in my brain in regards to that area. Searching now I see articles from 2014 & 2018 saying he might be one of the cult members. Wild.

  • 37:15 they may not have had any tears in their clothes because whoever killed them might have brought them up in the attic with a hoist. Or even a body bag with the hoist. Because it was a factory/warehouse after all. They have the tools. Because think about it… carrying 32 bodies into the attic is too much work. Even if they had a team to help with the murder, only one man can go up and down the attic ladder at a time (unless Korean attics are different than American’s and/or warehouse attics have, regardless American or not, have a larger opening point). OR, if they didn’t have a hoist, maybe they had a line of men carrying each body up there in a body bag. Like passing the body down the train but because of time, I would think they used body bags with a hoist. If they really wanted to stage it that badly, they most likely did just that. We have to try and take into account if there were any blood splatters in the attic.

  • 1:04:35 you know what’s insane about his “art” being an exhibited in the palace of versailles? people paid to go around a galary to see high-end, real, raw, masterful artwork, and I bet that many of them walked around being so impressed with his little rooky home project too. and the whole time the sinister truth behind this is a sad attempt to reinvent him as an artist, when he is a cold blooded MASS KILLER AND CULT-FOUNDER. what a dumb world we live in

  • Girl. Oh my GAWD. This is one of the worst cases I’ve heard out of S. Korea. You’d think with all the money he scammed he would have bodyguards and such… Just crazy. I think it’s an inside job. Like someone who knew him, or maybe one of his gfs killed him. (You’re amazing sis, ❤ Love your true crime reports!)

  • A number of years ago I recall looking at the headlines on a news site and seeing something about some Korean women who committed suicide outside someone’s office shortly after a meeting with them (maybe a government official?). I believe it was 10 or 12 but I could be wrong about the number. The story had scant details and thought this was really bazaar. The site updates every few minutes so I waited to see if there was a follow up since this was so unusual. Nothing. Even the original story was mysteriously gone in the very next update. That made it all the stranger so I checked back several times in the following hours, but nothing ever emerged. In fact, searching Google yielded zero results. As if it never happened. The women were from some “church.” No doubt a cult, perhaps the same church as in your article. I don’t think I am confusing it with the attic event described and I don’t believe it happened decades ago. Anyway, do you know anything about this?

  • You have a powerful gift for story telling! Never did i imagine I would be sitting doing nothing else but intensely listening to an hour plus long true crime podcast and not for a second feeling bored or wishing to be doing something else. It feels so incredibly natural. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into these. I will continue to listen and methodically work my way through your dedicated playlist.

  • 1:06:07 not surprised to hear JYP… if I’m not wrong, isn’t he in some church cult? I’ve seen news reports but he never published any statements refuting it either so……. he’s always been sus to me, plus he has this obsession with his idols learning his dances and songs like… weird YG doesn’t even do this 1:12:28 This sent me chills… JYP is always talking about organic food…

  • Realistically on a decomposing body that needs to be printed it’s quite simple to obtain those fingerprints. We deglove the fingers, slip the degloved skin over our own (gloved) fingers and take prints like you usually would. It works on bodies exposed to surprisingly high levels of decomposition and is a pretty simple and routine procedure, it just takes delicacy. It produces reliable results. I’m not saying that there couldn’t be corruption involved but as a forensic scientist that specific thing isn’t suspicious or far-fetched to me, it’s a pretty simple thing to obtain.

  • I’m curious to know what happened to the rest of the 80+ people who left with those found in the attic. Could they have been responsible for killing them and then they left elsewhere? Like maybe they found out it was a scam and turned on her, and the others who died in the attic were the ones who tried to protect her?

  • Stephanie, you’re a phenomenal storyteller! Of course, your soothing voice is liquid gold to the ears but it’s the intriguingly & genuinely animated presentation that has me hooked. I feel as if I’m in the same room as you with wide eyes and mouth agape listening intently to every word. You have a gift. Thank you. ❤

  • I love all of your true stories and the way you deliver them to us and please don’t listen to any negativity from the hater’s. Please keep bringing back these cases to us . Thank you for taking time out of your day to give us the opportunity to learn about these important issues about these cases.👍🙏❤️

  • As a Christian, most Christians DO believe you can go to heaven no matter what you’ve done in life. The difference is that we mean God can forgive anything you’ve done but you’re supposed to try to live by the Bible if you’ve come to faith. If you’re doing things that are awful (like, you know, killing people) that’s evidence that you aren’t really believing because people lie and there are lots of reasons people would lie about being religious.

  • Actually, Christian do believe that you are saved by grace, through Christ Jesus. Not of works lest any man should boast. But how can you be a Christian and not want to try to please God nothing you do on this Earth no matter how much good it is without Jesus Christ will not get you to heaven. But faith without works is dead. That means you can’t go around saying you can do anything you want and you’ll be saved you’re going to try to do things that is pleasing to him

  • BOOOM!! Something just sparked after this vider. You won’t believe me if i said this but…. Here in India in Nagaland, There are these Korean preachers coming in all suddenly i dont know how and starting their own churches here with connectios in korea and promising jobs to local people who become members of their church. And infamously they were considered as false prechers by the locals. It seems quite shady.

  • Wow what a guy and groupies/ family! So shocking to hide behind religion money greed and corruption the easy way media police politics just allow someone to do what they’re doing and reinvent themselves. I’m new to your articles but your research is awesome and I’m hooked found this case so creepy cringe and fascinating

  • This is just wild. After perusal your article of the Sewool Ferry tragedy, I came here and…it’s just insane to me how two disturbing and horrifying events link together. And honestly, I absolutely hate how some people use Scripture to justify truly heinous practices. The sheer audacity of that drives me crazy, especially as a Christian myself. Stuff like this absolutely taints the entire notion of religion for many people, and it’s just sad how some twist the word of God so terribly that these crimes against humanity become the result, especially in the case of the Sewool tragedy. So many lives have been destroyed by greed and malice operating under a banner of false teaching and manipulation. It’s crazy how heartless and evil some people can be. And this mess just shows me how important it is to always test what you believe and what you’ve been taught. If you’re going to be a Christian at all, you better actually study that Bible cover to cover to avoid the trickery of these wolves in sheep’s clothing who don’t even bat an eyelash at people losing their lives or livelihood while convincing themselves that they’re gods who are free to line their pockets with the dollars of their followers. Last time I checked, that definitely wasn’t the gospel of Christ. These guys were insane. Also, I’m definitely subscribing. You are an excellent storyteller and these two articles I’ve seen feel like true journalism. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to delivering these stories with nuance and true professionalism.

  • That billionaire assaulted those women. “When he said it feels like he’s a woman living in a small village and one day he got sexually assaulted” Those women decided to die due to Korean culture who’ll blame the women who were the victim actually. They all of Siemens when they died. This is just my own opinion

  • I’m screaming. His photography is hilariously amateur. At best he gets a few good shots, but most photographers I’ve interacted with wouldn’t show shots like those. His cloud series had me crying. I had a cloud phase when I was starting out in photography. Ahaes work wouldn’t even be considered for gallery exhibition if not for his money.

  • 44:43 as a christian i just want to say that yes you can be “saved” from a life of sin but if you still commit way too much sin or don’t follow Jesus you will still go to hell and if you kill somebody (as a sane person who means to do it) you will not be forgiven for taking another life and will also go to hell

  • In quite a few of your articles where you have mentioned S by hanging, you’ve said you’ve found it strange that they have been kneeling or able to touch the floor so would be fighting against survival instinct. It’s not actually that uncommon though; a study by Oxford Academic (International journal for epidemiology) found that only around 50% of deaths by hanging were fully suspended. There was a rash of S by hanging in Wales in 2007-8 where 26 young people exited and most were kneeling. It’s not how it’s portrayed in movies and such and so we assume it’s not common, but it is. The weight of the body causes you to blackout very quickly and positioning takes care of the rest, especially if you have taken something like Xanax or alcohol to further hasten the passing out, a famous example of this being Chris Cornell.

  • I have a theory with the Five Oceans murder. What if the 32 people who were strangled to death were strangle like a rope train. They all had a connected rope around all of them and only needed at least 6-7 seven people to pull the rope to tighten for at least a good ten minutes while they had a piece of cloth in their mouths. This would suffocate them enough to actually die.

  • It kind of gives me Heaven’s Gate and Jonestown vibes in the sense of when the man sees all the bodies if that makes sense 😞 I mean I couldn’t even imagine what that would do to the police on these cases. I mean for heaps of people like loved ones and friends etc but to just stumble upon that scene, would be very traumatic.

  • Is “a man without a home” a new way of saying homeless? Genuinely confused because that’s such a strange phrase to convey that they assumed the guy was homeless (assuming that’s what’s supposed to be implied). Is there a legal reason to not say homeless in that part of the article because I’m not sure why you could be sued for that?

  • Those tactics of selling those vitamins to that poor lady, it reminds me of Scientology and how they have to purchase all these random vitamins and supplements from them and not from the store. Which they charge sooooo much more, like a ridiculous amount of money. Same with their sauna treatment, I forget what it’s called but you have to pay to stay in a sauna for 4 hours straight to get all these random toxins out of your body (which is completely ridiculous and extremely dangerous) and costs thousands for a treatment. I watched this article of a guy who infatuated the Cult of Scientology 😂 it was absolutely insane the amount they would pressure him for money for each book or treatment etc. I’m actually surprised he got that far in without them questioning him 😂 it’s not funny, it’s just ridiculous how cults like this work and how absolutely greedy they become 😞 how much they drain people dry from all their money and possessions. It’s absolutely heartbreaking 😭😔

  • I grew up in the southern parts of the US, sometimes referred to as the Bible Belt. The Christianity largely followed believes if you pray the “Sinner’s Prayer” and believe with your whole heart that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, that you will be saved and will go to Heaven. While technically this is a get out of jail free type deal, the commentary on post-salvation truly evil acts is that they were never truly saved or their hearts would have changed and they couldn’t have gone on to murder others. But yeah, I’m pretty sure I grew up in an end-of-days cult and am still dealing with a lot of religious trauma and no longer ascribe to any religion, nor do I care to at this time (agnostic). But just wanted to put in my two cents on what was taught at really large youth evangelical rallies (like Aquire the Fire) and was predominant thought of salvation in the Bible Belt, to the best of my knowledge. (I visited many non-denominational and southern Baptist churches as well as Assembly of God growing up—so that was my experience.

  • Actually, most Christians, and the Bible teaches that there is no way that we can stop sinning. That we’re not trying to not sin. We’re trying to become more like Jesus, but because of our humanity we’re always going to be sinners. At least that’s the Evangelical view of Christianity. I’m so sorry that you were hurt by Christians. People can be such jerks. I hope someday you’re able to look past what happened to you and understand the relationship that is Christianity and not the religion that people call Christianity if you understand what I mean

  • 55:35 😳 it’s like a shadow chaebol – wild 1:03:20 whaaattt – money buys you the Grand Central Terminal, Versailles and the London Symphony Orchestra wtf 1:07:35 wtf the Economist?! 🤑🤑🤑😹🤡 1:10:00 OMG…. 1:13:50 this is creepy – JYP’s name says “unknown” on Wikipedia 1:15:35 yeah sounds like a body double

  • One thing i realized through out this article (because it was mainly focusing on religious beliefs) I suddenly understand why its haram (forbidden) in Islam to do business in mosques. People will take advantage of other people’s beliefs, especially towards people who dont have thorough religious teachings to know whether its a scam or not. Side note : I love listening your articles, it helps me focus when working.

  • Given what we know about this sinister, apparently quite malevolent family, their *cough cough*” “church” & their interwoven connections to just about every commercial enterprise AND governmental body in S. Korea, it’s impossible to know if this guy faked his own death. Law enforcement entities are not immune to corruption and this could ALLEGEDLY extend to faking forensic reports related to DNA evidence.

  • lmao i was inducted into a korean cult once, and i barely ever see coverage of them, but it was basically exactly like a pyramid scheme, except members don’t make money, they give money and the church rakes in all the profits (among other things). they sponsor huge missions to other countries and locations – and people willingly give everything away and totally believe in it. i’m very familiar with they way these people move. i wouldn’t be very surprised if in the future it comes out the cult I was in is revealed to be part of some other huge scandal, but i hope it’s not as horrific as this case.

  • Religious trauma survivor here. ACTUALLY THOUGH. Most Christian denominations believe that you can’t be “unsaved” It’s not that they’re saying that you can kill people and still go to heaven, it’s that if you’re truly saved, you wouldn’t kill someone. The spirit of god guides you. Salvation is allowing the Lord to guide you and to be your shield. If you’ve killed someone, you can still become saved, but unless you’re deeply psychologically disturbed/ in the midst of psychosis… we wouldn’t count you as “saved” before committing a crime, if you lucidly commit that crime anyway. So basically, yes, you can be the most evil human to ever exist and still go to heaven, but it would require you confess and repent and accept Jesus into your life. Being saved means you live your life according to gods plan. None of us believe that gods plan for anyone is to kill another person. Thus it’s not possible. Straying from the good path is usually encouraged, because those who question their faith and return are held in high regard for learning the intricacies of overcoming true temptation. Everyone should test their faith, there’s no “losing your salvation” involved in that. But if you’re truly saved, you’re not wanting to rebel by hurting others. This is usually doing things like gambling, smoking pot, drinking, sex. For the Amish it’s literally just going to the city, wearing pants, owning a phone, using the internet, listening to music…Much MUCH smaller things. Your faith is typically considered stronger when you’ve allowed yourself to understand that you do in fact have free will and still choose the lord regardless.

  • Yes her husband was not a billionaire/millionaire by any chance. If you watch their wedding vows there Stephanie has said how her husband was working 3 jobs at a time to make a living and how he bought her, her first mic and stuff. I think he is now doing well in his job and somewhere he said he is into stocks and trading now I’m not sure tho. I have been perusal her since 2018 and I’m so happy for her growth she deserves all of it. My day feels empty without her articles now😂❤

  • She is arguably one of the most deserving influencers. I have been subscribed to her on YouTube since 2018-2019, and remember listening to the very first BAM and Rotten Mango episode. She always seems so incredibly grateful of everything she has, and she is an amazing storyteller. Also, they didn’t move to NYC, they have their main house in Atlanta and an apartment in NYC that they frequently visit.

  • These estimates won’t take into account expensives of course, she has a pretty large team of researchers, translators and editors from what it seems, but I’m really happy for her. It’s clear how much effort and time she puts into all of her content, posting hours of content every week and always being willing to correct herself or pull content when she realises she’s been misinformed on a topic, always aiming to advocate for underrepresented communities and treat everyone with empathy and consideration. She truly deserves her success

  • I LOVE all her websites and I’m a 56 year old black woman. She is so relatable, humble, and down to earth. Her wedding ceremony was absolutely beautiful and I was crying happy tears. Crazy, right??? Her anonymous husband is a nice addition in her articles. I even tell Korean people that I meet to check out her YouTube websites. It’s very obvious that a lot of research and work go into her articles. I wish her all the success in the world & good things to come.

  • Yes, she is printing money !!! Because of her hardworking and dedication to bring all those stories from the dark that no one takes the courage to tell. She is amazing, kind and humble. They are self-made, so they deserve all the fame and respect. From nothing to all this success, mad respect to them ☺♥️

  • this is coming from someone who knew her (through a friend) before her fame. she was wealthy (not rols royce wealthy but had designer bags wealthy) before but because she and her then boyfriend (now husband) fucking HUSTLED. they worked their ASSES off before the youtube website. when i met her and her bf at the time, he was never off his phone because he was constantly working (not in a rude way but a hey sorry i gotta take this call way). pretty sure he was working a full time job AND doing like other side gigs with investments and trying to find any other streams of income. she also packed his lunch everyday/constantly made home cooked meals to save money and i rarely saw them spend money on anything beyond what was exactly necessary. i lost contact with her but im glad to see her succeed. she’s very sweet irl and acts like herself in her vids. i used to hope she would live a little (at the time) because they were SO frugal, even though i knew they made good money (good enough to at least get a nice dinner here or there…which i rarely saw them do at the time) but im glad it’s paid off for them!

  • Her content is so good and all the hard work she and her team put into it is praiseworthy. Steph, her husband, and the family is so fun, quirky, and humble. I wish her success in her career and her personal life. Not gonna lie though, I am so curious of MMB but also hope he remains anonymous as his wish.

  • She actually deserves it though. The amount of work and research that goes into all of Stephanie’s articles is no easy feat. So many “YouTubers” or “content creators” will put a few minutes into a article and still get the same amount of views as Stephanie. People will bring up how she lives in a million dollar home, but she’s been saving for years. Judging someone on their house isn’t necessarily a good move. It’s like how someone will save up to travel to different countries, buy a new car, buy expensive concert tickets and merch, etc. She stays humble and doesn’t flaunt her wealth. And the way she tells stories is definitively a gift that she should make money off of.

  • I’ve watched her for years since 2018 or 2019, I remember when she used to make articles everyday and my siblings would be so upset to hear the same voice everyday I’m so proud and happy of her growth and growing up with her definitely made a huge impact on my life I don’t know who I would be without Stephanie Soo ❤

  • Listening to Stephanie is like listening to your best friend tell you a jucy story. That personal story she told of her and Rui Quan’s fight is literally the funniest newlywed story I have ever heard. He loves her. He knows her well. He takes care of her….❤ She is close to her family. Bless her in everything she does. I think she works really hard. I also remember her telling her audience how Rui helped her get her finances in order before they got married. It sounds like they value what they have made. With Rotten Mango, she says she does a lot of that research herself. Ans yes she has a lot of help since some of the stories come from other countries. It is thorough and presented in her own way but very professional. 😊Good for her.

  • Sincerely happy for her and she deserves the world!!! She is a workaholic and stores immense amount of info in her head. She(previously alone and now with her team)) also does super deep research, no idea how she can dig sooo deep on every case. But I thought her husband would be a part of her team, otherwise how he manages to appear in every article and have a full-time job at the same time

  • Ever since she created 2 podcasts (now 3, with a separate one for RM vids), I mostly spend time listening to her content on spotify. The amount of time and energy she put on the research is truly admirable and continuously getting better with the help of the growing team she has. The highlight of every content she posts is definitely her talent in story-telling. Of course, 3 YT websites aren’t easy to manage either. Thank goodness she has Jane and Stefan now. I’ve been binged perusal both her main YT websites ever since 2019 (watched her with my other YT acc back then), and she totally deserves the amount of wealth she has accumulated up until now.

  • Her & Jenna Marbles have been some of the most humble loaded YouTubers. Like obviously they’re super popular, make lots of money, but have never boasted about it. And Stephanie works really hard. It’s very obvious in all her articles. And she has a team of people under her employ & supports her mother it seems. Well deserved tbh. We love to see Asian excellence!

  • From perusal her articles since she started, I can say that any amount she makes is well deserved. She works hard, is constant, and is trying her best to help and support her and her family. She is so sweet, kindhearted, funny and intelligent that I can’t say I would have anything wrong to say about her ❤

  • Stephanie Soo deserves every penny she makes, it is hard to earn money, it is hard to build a successful career especially when it’s down to yourself. I have never known anyone work so hard. She obviously hires researchers, plus her regular team of editors, photographers ect, but the works she put in is phenomenal. Stephanie as a presenter and front woman, is amazing, she pulls you in and holds your interest – I believe she has earned every penny she owns.

  • Stephanie is one of the most hard-working youtubers I’ve ever seen and I’ve been consuming yt content ever since 2014. I’ve seen so many “hotshots” come and go but the work and dedication Steph, her husband, and her current team of researchers have put into their articles is commendable. She’s super respectful and listens to her community avidly and honestly, that’s often the only thing you need to grow a loyal fanbase, hardwork and sincerity.

  • I am a fairly new viewer of her websites and even I noticed how hard she works to maintain the three websites. On top of that she has a dedicated team of researchers and editors and she pays them really well (from what I’ve heard). I watch RottenMangoPodcast the most and I have also noticed how much she donates to corresponding charities. And I know true crime websites get demonitized pretty easily.

  • this woman probably reads 3 FULL books every single week multiple times. she puts out two hour long articles a week. shes incredibly respectful when it comes to cases and makes sure to show love to victims for respect for them and their family in every disturbing article. i watch her ads because yeah she deserves it

  • I discovered Stephanie in 2022 and I honestly don’t remember how I spent my days without listening to her before that. My mom even calls her my best friend aince I’m always listening to her. She totally deserves all the money she’s earning. She’s so humble, ao creative, so funny and ao hardworking. The preparation behind each article is crazy, especially the rotten mango articles. She provides details and information that you hardly can find alone. I listen to a lot of true crime podcasts but none of them is well researched like Stephanie’s. Not to mention how well she tells the stories. She has a talent kf story telling and she used it very well. Congrats to her and her husband. And I hope she keeps on entertaining us for years to come ❤

  • I love Stephanie!!! She works hard and it’s so well deserved. She’s such a great storyteller, I was instantly obsessed with Rotten Mango. I also love her other websites, each are so different but so well researched and informed and it’s a nice variety. I could just listen to her talk, even if they’re not really topics I am/was initially drawn to or even knew about much.

  • I started listening to her podcast around two years ago. I was trying to improve my English listening skill that time and I heard that listening to English podcasts daily is the fastest way to improve. So I tried with SO MANY different podcasters, but I only found myself repeatedly clicking on the rewind button because I couldn’t catch what was being said. Listening to podcast wasn’t even something that I enjoy, so I basically forced myself to do it. It was months of self-inflicted stress and frustration 😭 Then, came Stephanie Soo’s podcast. I was a bit skeptical to click on her podcast at first. A lot of people I personally knew didn’t really have a pleasant opinion of her so, without enough research, I was naturally leaning on that side of the spectrum too. However, YouTube kept recommending her articles every day, so I decided to just give it a try. Just a few minutes in and I instantly fell in love with her storytelling. There was something about how she weaved her story that made me stay. I never had to press rewind or skipped her articles like what I usually did with other podcasts. Her stories were so rich in details too. What used to be a stressful and frustrating study session for me had now turned into an enjoyable listening time that I looked forward to every day. After a few months listening to her podcast (only), I decided to try listening to other podcasters again, and I realized that my head could finally ‘catch’ English words easily since then. I guess Stephanie’s way of speaking unlocked something in my brain.

  • I remember about five years ago when I would watch her chipotle mukbangs and she would always complain (jokingly ofc) about how guac was extra so she would only get it on one bowl. Seeing this is almost bringing tears to my eyes, I am so proud of her and how far she’s come. It is so inspiring to hear how someone who was once so unsure of thier future is now creating generational wealth for her and her loved ones. Ugh I truly thank God on her behalf. They could never make me hate you Stephanie!!!!!!!!<333333333

  • On one hand Im jealous..on the other hand, she totally deserves it. I follow her websites religiously and Rotten Mango keeps me going through work, commutes, or cleaning/shores. Her other websites are easy/fun “conversations” to keep me company while I do other work/hw on the side. She always uploads consistently, she has great organizational/story telling skills, the smoothest transitions from one topic to another (even the way she connects sponsorships to her stories is perfect haha) Btwn all the work she puts into her articles/podcasts and her natural talent/charisma, she definately deserves it <3

  • I was one of those “new subscribers” in 2023. I think it started with the audio podcast on spotify rotten mango. the articles also, but I decided to watch on yt so i can read and comment. I must say, for me I find her chinaverse stories the most unique. there are a lot of asian and western true crime but not chinese true crimes. japanese too sometimes. it’s not too short and also not too long. some true crime websites are too short for me. I find it hard to remember because my brain wasn’t able to connect in time. I’m genZ human (I don’t say this all the time) but there was a time last year when I was so into acotar, the book series, because of her. I tried reading some of the books but it’s to long I decided to watch other websites’ summaries while I waited for Stephanie’s pt.2 and 3 which took quite a while, she got me into reading fantasy novels again after 5 years of me just binge perusal on the side while I read academic books. I’m sorry I’m talking about her here but I gotta say while I liked rotten mango it became so heavy at times. I had a phase when I started making sense of the dark web, psychoanalyzing the real life criminals and victims, and reminding myself that at the end of the day, there are still people who makes the right choices, who are better than me that I can learn from (maybe even fictional ones idk).

  • She totally deserves all of this I believe she is not only making articles but because of those articles all those people who have been a victim over the most disgusting crimes and their cases have been able to come in limelight even for a day. She spends hours making those articles i think she is a great person

  • So what??? she has a ton of work, research every case, upfront costs, filming, light and equipment .. also she has employees/staff. there is so much work in it! you just see the money… im also self-employed and let me tell you… I hat people who are jelly because of money.. its for everybody on this planet to work/hustle and make the best and earn money. I bet she works hard everyday till night.. it sounds easy than you think, but try it. I bet many people would brake about this much work what goes in this articles and research. she deserves every penny!!! and if she is swimming in a pool of money. GREAT im happy for her and her husband!!! go girl!!!! 🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷🩷

  • Agree with others that they both deserve it. What we see are just the end products. She has a team behind her who put this together. She also is very talented in telling her stories. I am usually pretty mesmerized listening to them. When her husband comments or talks to her, it almost always complements the whole thing. Its “fun” and lively to listen / watch her shows.

  • Ohh thank youu, this is soo interesting!! I don’t think there’s any article out there like this one. Not only a lot of research and information, but the article is well made in her general. I really adore Stephanie, she’s a great entertainer and seems to be an angel on top of that. Oh yeah and MissMangoButt a Sales Man? I wouldn’t be surprised honestly.

  • smh she talks about how toxic the Kpop fans are but she herself has the most toxic fandom aswell. Stephanie Soo ruined a lot of victims family members by the disrespect in her mukbangs. She never ever apologized. She just rebranded herself with rotten mango and her podcast. My heart goes out to all the victims of Stephanie Soo me included. Her fans are really the worst. Especially when you would think they would have sympathy for victims because she is a “true crime youtuber” but when they speak out? the get very angry. They are acting like they care like Stephanie about the victims. They don’t..

  • The comments just shows how demented people are over supporting podcasters and article shooters instead of supporting real respected hard working underpaid workers. You guys care about entertainment more than a truck driver delivering food products to local grocery stores. That’s how demented you guys are. She’s not standing 8+ hours doing work, she’s sitting down and can eat from the comfort of her home. That’s not hard work. Once you stand 8+ hours every day constantly moving around and never sitting down, you guys will truly understand what hard work really is. Without these Amazon warehouse workers putting your orders in boxes or parcels and labeling your packages, you wouldn’t get anything. Stop praising rich people for doing bare minimum work.

  • Mr mango but was working with watches that’s why he met Jeff I remember them mentioning it somewhere, they both were dirt poor in the beginning that’s why Stephanie doesn’t like potatoes a lot because sometimes that’s all they would have to eat, they were living in an apartment at some point that had rats in it but it was in a good area and close to mmbs work place, she used to work in retail but couldn’t hold down a job she said that she had a pivotal moment when standing in whole foods looking at a frozen Borito thinking of making a article eating it that’s where it all started, mmb family is also not wealthy they made their money in the us and even had to hide his sisters birth because of the one child policy… Iv l been following her since the beginning… this is why I know thing I’m not a stalker also she supports 🇵🇸 GO QUEEN

  • She’s one of the few YouTubers I used to watch many years ago, but I stopped since discovering other true crime websites that actually donate to the families that are affected by the tragedy, or organizations to help victims. I especially admire websites that work closely with those families to raise awareness of the crime, while also letting them voice their side of the story that’s rarely ever discussed by the media. Stephanie never does any of those things. She profits off of people’s tragedies, without attempting to help those affected. It turns my stomach whenever she would have mukbangs and tell jokes or laugh during the most gruesome crime stories. Pick better heroes guys.

  • I think bc shes humble but also realistic thats why ppl vibe with her. She lso doesnt shove in your face all the time on what she owns. I dont know why some people are mad that she has really nice cars like they shouldnt have them lmao. She also seems like such a good boss considering how many translators and researchers she works with. And on top of that she treats them with special things like group activities trips etc.

  • Been perusal her since their LA Beverly Hills-Mazda days 💕 And I can’t be any more proud of being a fan of a YouTuber so down to Earth. I’m a YouTube grandma so I followed everyone iconic through the early 2010s. Stephanie came around mid-2010 like 2015? Or 2018? I think. She’s the only one left that I still follow. For those that don’t know her and would judge right away, this girl worked HARD to achieve everything she has now. She is soooo humble as well. If I’m not mistaken, she’s only made a few (3?) articles doing something with luxury goods (1 even abt giving a Dior tote bag to her mom) and she always said she felt uncomfortable making articles like that. You can also see how elevated their lifestyle is giving Hermes gifts to their family members, her bags, shoes, etc. but idk I never felt soOoOo “YOU GO GURL” with anyone besides her. She never rly showed them off unless it’s gifts for family mostly. They live such a oriveleged life but share sooo much blessings with their family. In oe vlog, they even said it was MMB (her husband) was the one who manages Sophie’s (neice) bank account 💕🥺 How can ppl hate them rly. She went through such a rollercoster with the 🥑🥑 🥑 contraversy, her anxiety, etc. and we dunno what else she’s going through behind closed doors. Ofc special mention to MMB who literally supported her dream since day 1 and his patience with her is just unreal. You can clearly see it through their articles that he adores her so much.

  • I’ve never seen any true crime podcast like Rotten Mango who actually put their effort in delivering their cases to utmost perfection. The fact that she, herself, makes her own meeting to the families of the victims and personally help them to spread support for ongoing cases is mindblowing. Her storytelling is phenominal too. PS. BROOOO HOW IN THE WORLD DID U KNOW MRMANGOBUTT NAME??? Ive been perusal them since 2018!!!

  • ROTTEN MANGO is one of my most fave source of true crime vitamin. every episode is well-researched and well-studied. that’s a true hardwork and dedication.. her team’s blood & sweat. so for me, all the money she earns from said website i say.. DASURB!! (that’s how we say WELL-DESERVED in tagalog) warmest greetings from The Philippines! ☀️🇵🇭

  • I used to work somewhere really far like 59 miles away drive at 4:30 am and Stephanie kept me awake with her stories. I would put her website on and drive and when she is finishing up the show,I would literally just got to work parking lot. She made my long drive felt shorter. I quit that job 2 months ago and that money is her payment for keeping me entertained and awake. I didn’t even have to pay her but I guess my view did that’s why it’s well deserve. I know she also has a huge team so she’s not bringing in all the money but like 70% of it ☺️ well deserve!
