The heart chakra is located in the center of the chest and is the source of love, compassion, empathy, forgiveness, acceptance, and transformation.

What trauma is stored in the heart chakra?

What organ holds trauma?

The diaphragm and psoas muscles are common areas where suppressed emotions and trauma can manifest. Shallow breathing and chronic bracing of the diaphragm can lead to suppressed emotions and high-impact trauma in the diaphragm. These muscles, which connect the torso and lower body, can store trauma, leading to hip pain and chronic low back. When suppressed emotions and trauma are stored, the body responds intelligently to external threats, chronic stressors, and overwhelm.

Therapist Alexis Florentina Borja suggests that some parts of the body are designed to hold onto these emotions and suppressed trauma, and that unprocessed trauma can be stored within these sacred spaces. When working with trauma and chronic unexplained symptoms, it is important to explore these spaces and areas that might be responding to events that overwhelmed the system. Common areas that hold onto emotions and trauma include the jaw, diaphragm, womb space, and psoas muscle.

Which chakra holds childhood trauma?

The root chakra is the energy center most related to traumatic experiences and memories. All seven chakras store traumatic and difficult memories that correspond to their unique life themes and emotional lessons. Trauma is any unforgettable, deep-seated memory whose impressions become engraved in the body, transforming into imprints and irrational conclusions about life and others. The reason for these impressions seems almost unerasable is that in those moments, the stable and familiar picture of life was severely disrupted and shaken in unexpected ways. Unprepared, the body and mind became frozen, and the person sank into a state of powerlessness.

Some difficult memories can be described more specifically as root chakra traumas. These experiences are directly related to physical dangers, life-threatening situations, and upheavals, resulting in profound insecurity. Physical traumas may involve serious diseases, chronic conditions, exposure to great danger, deaths of people around us, near-death experiences, violent attacks or physical abuse, facing natural disasters, wars, and terror attacks, and physical shocks during birth or during birth. This range of experiences can lead us to conclude that it is not safe to be embodied.

  • I hired a shadow worker about 10 months ago to help me navigate through this awakening because I was feeling so INCREDIBLY STUCK, confused, and alone. And we did some inner child work, and some re-parenting. As much as I needed to feel safe stepping into my own shadow, I felt the “re-parenting” of my inner child was perhaps more transformative. I would have never thought of giving the “little me” time and a space to feel safe, loved, understood and protected. It really was life changing. Im still going through the changes and don’t know exactly who I am, but I do know who I’m not. Iv been going though a hermit phase since then and it feels deeply nourishing. Im excited for what the “future” holds ❤️

  • 12 years ago I wrote my inner child a letter… Dearest Cassandra, I write this letter to you to help you on your way to where you will be today. Much of what you will go through in life will make little to no sense to you until it has passed. This will seem frightening at first, but once you allow it to, it will pass. Eventually you will come to love the synchronicity of events and allow your beautiful brain to be silent and your heart pour with sentient flow of the divine. Once others have tread the same ground on the way and achieved greatness, you merely need to pick up where they left off. Have no fear. Have faith. With much love, Me I would write it a little differently now. I would substitute acheived for experienced and merely for may simply. Would any of you be willing to share? Afterall, children love playdates!

  • Oh my gosh, that “like you are a stage five clinger” part! 😂😂 So funny. ❤️ And yes, please re: the expansion article on the cosmic abandonment topic. I’ve never heard anyone talk about our inner child quite like this and it’s not a new concept or work to me. Thank you for this and the applicable understanding and actions.

  • I think I’ve known my inner child my whole life, he is the same child that has been my negative voice, through bullying, never been taken seriously, or allowed to be involved in certain aspects that I probably would have enjoyed if given a chance. Now,he is my crutch, I live with him everyday, we do not always get along, but he is who I am, I love him although we argue a lot.

  • You just confirmed all of my theories 😮 I’m currently starting to unlock very early childhood memories and some of them I can’t remember clearly (yet), if they were memories from this lifetime or past life times. Also, I’ve come to realize that I have deep abandonment wounds that are also not just from this life. I’d love to hear what else you have to say about the abandonment issues!

  • I’m 23 years old and my inner child has been abused and abandoned by me. He isn’t afraid or angry, he is sad that he never got the love back that he projected. He is looking for a hug and conversation where he doesn’t feel alone anymore. I didn’t even meditate I just felt the pain that he has experienced wanting to be released and open for healing. I have felt numb going through my spiritual awakening and I have major emotional and intellectual intelligence. I feel alone like him as if there aren’t very many people to talk to. My family has no idea what I am going through but they respect my path. I can’t wait to become my best friend with my inner child. He needs the man I am today to be the one that could have saved them back then, but now I will be here with open arms to comfort him.

  • Brilliant, I intuitively did this while intending ICW. I imagined a loving day at the beach at five years old with both my parents doting on me all day. I came out of that trance feeling lighter and loved..This process works just like visualization. One can alter the past the same as create the future!

  • Wow. I needed healing for my inner child for so many years. So, one day, I wrote a letter to her. I was flooded with compassion and love for her, pledging to help heal her broken and frightened self. That I would be there for her anytime she needed. I couldn’t stop writing to her. Encouraging her. Asking her to call on me when she struggled. We are talking amazing healing just from doing that. I became more aware and cognizant of the healing needed, thus, proceeded to start my healing journey. That was many yrs ago and I know I have healed so much since then. Thank you!!!

  • WoW Sarah! With 25 Years of Self Healing, Awakening. I have Begun this process. And after reading Debbie Ford Shadow Book. It was/ Is My Intention to Go Deeper with this. Just Seeing this article Today. The Timing/ Divine. Infinite Gratitude for Your Explanation of have Yet to Hear. So Insightful And in just Under 13 Min. Thank You Universe for Sarah’s article !!! 💔💕🤸‍♂️🤼‍♂️💘💞🙂🙏

  • “The Inner-Child is aware that we are travelling through eternity. If that’s not daunting enough, its travelling through eternity alone, overwhelmed, and abandoned.” this triggered a burst of laughter from me- not because its funny, but because I have felt this feeling of existential abandonment my entire life, and it has risen to the surface clearly through my awakening the past couple of years. It’s so comforting to have someone weave this experience into words. Thank You. Question: in the role of giving the inner-child what it needs, were you saying to do this through visualisation or the actual experience of, say, going shopping for clothes…? And yes a article on cosmic abandonment please 🥳

  • I cried! Both times I’ve watched! I cried more the second time… When I was about 11 years old I had a small collection of Matchbox cars. I had to order them from Lesney, in England. I sent them a letter saying, “How does it work?” They sent me back a letter that said, “Here’s how it works. You send us the money to us, and we’ll send you the goods to you!” I still buy them! They’re made in China now, and they cost less than when I was ELEVEN! I always take them out of the package! I know some collectors want only “mint in package,” but THAT’S no FUN! I also got books in the mail this week! Books of poetry, a book on the last woodblocks of Hiroshige, and two amazing violin iconographies! I love books in the mail! “Flopsy and Mopsy” syndrome? I guess! Last night I saw FIREFLIES! Even in a twisted timeline that seems like it was phoned in on an uncharged cell, there is still beauty (and HUMOR!)… In my last comment on Sarah’s website, I threatened poetry, and I dare not not dare… here’s a very short snippet from a very LONG poem (it made me buy the book!): “From the year of the Lord-out-of-Ur about two millennia. Two thousand lents again since the first barleymow. Twenty millennia (and what millennia more?) Since he became man, master-of-plastic.” from “The Anathemata” by David Jones — Namaste, Glenn
