In the Amazon series Good Omens, Adam Young, the son of Satan, is the Antichrist in the making. He is sent a hellhound by Hell on his 11th birthday to symbolize the idea that good and evil are learned. The dog, a mixed breed, looks similar to Rat Terrier, Parson Russell Terrier, and Jack Russell Terrier, possibly with some Beagle for good measure.
The Hellhound represents the idea that good and evil are not innate but learned. The Antichrist is supposed to receive the hellhound on his 11th birthday. Damien has a Hellhound as a pet dog, living at his estate and being sent by him on various missions. Dog’s perspective – falling in love with the world over a few days – is kind of a microcosm of other characters who side with humans/the world.
In the live-action version produced by Amazon Prime, a dog named “Oli” performs enthusiastically, fitting the “hell dog” breed. In the show, a dog, it transpires, is in fact a hellhound and transforms into the scary beast for a couple of scenes. David Tennant was left bleeding after being attacked by a Jack Russell named Ollie on the set of the new Terry Pratchett adaptation of Good Omens.
The Hellhound transformed into a Jack Russell Terrier and went to join Adam as his pet, allowing Adam full access to his powers. The Daily Mail somewhat bollocks the story about David Tennant being bitten by Ollie, our little hellhound on Good Omens. The Hellhound transformed into a Jack Russell Terrier and went to join Adam and became his pet, allowing Adam full access to his powers.
